Norway has seen a great decline in religiosity and most Norwegians are irreligious. According to the Eurobarometer Poll of 2010:[6]

22% of Norwegian citizens responded that "they believe there is a God".
44% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force".
29% answered that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, God, or life force".
5% answered that they "do not know".
Estimated atheism rates in Norway range from 31 to 72%.[7]

Everyday you keep saying on Nairaland that Norwegians are religious. The truth is that even though they are nominal Christians, they are very irreligious, just like many of their neighbours.

I am a nominal Christian but I am an atheist. Similarly, a lot of Europeans are like that.

The Queen is the head of the Anglican communion, yet atheism is on the rise in England. Most English folks still celebrate easter and Christmas, both Christian festivals, yet they do not disbelief in the notion of a God/Gods
Magnus Carlsen is an atheist, and he's probably the most famous celebrity in Norway. His chess games are usually broadcast live on Norwegian TV stations.

Atheists have the disposition to hate , terrorise , kill for selfish gains . They lost their sanity because they failed to believe in God

-Mao Ze-Dong (China, 1958-61 and 1966-69, Tibet 1949-50) 49-78,000,00 people murdered
-Jozef Stalin (USSR 1932-39 only) 15,000,000 people murdered
-Pol Pot (Cambodia, 1975-79) 1,700,000 people murdered
-Kim II Sung (North Korea 1948-94) 1.6 million people murdered
-Tito (Yugoslavia 1945-1987) 570,000 people murdered
-Suharto (Communists 1967-66) 500,000 people murdered
-Ante Pavelic (Croatia 1941-45) 359,000 people murdered
-Ho Chi Min (Vietnam 1953-56) 200,000 people murdered
-Vladimir Ilich Lenin (USSR, 1917-20) 30,000 people murdered
-Adolf Hitler (Germany 1939-1945) 12,000,000 people murdered

The veracity of the above information can be verified by checking through credible sources .
How many American Indians did the Pilgrims murder for ordinary soil? I believe it's close to 100 million.

These pastors must be some very strong atheists, I'm talking Stalin or Pol Pot.

Not only do they stand and tell lies to old people every Sunday, they also extort LOTS OF MONEY from them as well.

The person who wrote this donation form must know that there is no such nonsense as Yahweh.

Drug dealers don't open market in front of police precinct. The threat of punishment causes them to hide from the police. Likewise, for a pastor not to have any fear of Yahweh in this manner, he must first be an avowed atheist.

Don't you guys know how to argue ? I'm using your belief against you . You claim to be science-minded , an evolutionist but you failed to accept the nature of evolution , a scientific theory . Evolution is random , chaotic and chance-dependent - no goal , no direction . The nature of evolution proves the nature is unconscious .

Nature does not think , nature is not aware of its activities but the interaction in nature proves that it is functional not conscious .

Plus if you claim that the atoms responsible for man's consciousness in his brain proves that nature is conscious then the ones in the inanimate unconscious entities prove nature is not conscious .
Who told you that evolution is a random process? Bible school?

Your compulsive need to mention the bible in this argument shows you are definitely on the losing side . Interaction here is a proof nature is functional not conscious .

Nature is not aware of its activities , that's why humans can be obliterated and intelligent life may not emerge again. The universe can run down and fail to exist . It cannot account for its actions .

It cannot think that's why its activities are chance-dependent , random and chaotic .
Your god is the Bible one, don't disown him now.

Nature is composed of everything. Would you consider your activities to be chance dependent and random?

Far worse terms. You know me, I'm already a cynic and therefore I suspect that the whole slavery thing was in fact a systematic campaign of ped.ophilia. Pale men, in their attempt to replicate the culture of ancient Rome, kidnapped young African boys, girls, and babies with sex in mind. The only thing keeping the African males from uniting in rebellion is the foolish Jewish book which was handed out to each of the child r.ape victims.

Slavery in the American South
O Lord, O my Lord!
O my great Lord keep me from sinking down.
— From a slave song
No issue has more scarred our country nor had more long-term effects than slavery. When we celebrate American freedom, we must also be mindful of the long and painful struggle to share in those freedoms that faced and continue to face generations of African Americans. To understand the present, we must look to the past.

Buying and Selling Slaves

Before the Civil War, nearly 4 million black slaves toiled in the American South. Modem scholars have assembled a great deal of evidence showing that few slaves accepted their lack of freedom or enjoyed life on the plantation. As one ex-slave put it, “No day dawns for the slave, nor is it looked for. It is all night — night forever.” For many, the long night of slavery only ended in death.
In 1841, a bounty hunter kidnapped Solomon Northup, a free black man from Saratoga, New York, on the pretext that he was a runaway slave from Georgia. When the bounty hunter sold him into slavery, Northup lost his family, his home, his freedom, and even his name.
Solomon Northup was taken to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was put into a “slave pen” with other men, women, and children waiting to be sold. In “Twelve Years a Slave,” a narrative that Northup wrote after he regained his freedom, the citizen of New York described what it was like to be treated as human property:
Freeman [the while slave broker] would make us hold up our heads, walk briskly back and forth, while customers would feel of our heads and arms and bodies, turn us about, ask us what we could do, make us open our mouths and show our teeth.... Sometimes a man or woman was taken back lo the small house in the yard, stripped, and inspected more minutely. Scars upon a slave’s back were considered evidence of a rebellious or unruly spirit, and hurt his sale.
By law, slaves were the personal property of their owners in all Southern states except Louisiana. The slave master held absolute authority over his human property as the Louisiana law made clear: “The master may sell him, dispose of his person, his industry, and his labor; [the slave] can do nothing, possess nothing, nor acquire anything but what must belong to his master.”
Slaves had no constitutional rights; they could not testify in court against a white person; they could not leave the plantation without permission. Slaves often found themselves rented out, used as prizes in lotteries, or as wagers in card games and horse races.
Separation from family and friends was probably the greatest fear a black person in slavery faced. When a master died, his slaves were often sold for the benefit of his heirs. Solomon Northup himself witnessed a sorrowful separation in the New Orleans slave pen when a slave buyer purchased a mother, but not her little girl:
The child, sensible of some impending danger, instinctively fastened her hands around her mother’s neck, and nestled her little head upon her bosom. Freeman [the slave broker] sternly ordered [the mother] to be quiet, but she did not heed him. He caught her by the arm and pulled her rudely, but she clung closer to the child. Then with a volley of great oaths he struck her such a heartless blow, that she staggered backward, and was like to fall. Oh! How piteously then did she beseech and beg and pray that they not be separated.
Perhaps out of pity, the buyer did offer to purchase the little girl. But the slave broker refused, saying there would be “piles of money to be made of her” when she got older.

1. Consciousness is basically self awareness .

a. Is nature aware of its activities ?
b. What part of nature is its consciousness contained in ? / What exactly is responsible for nature's consciousness

2. Your argument deviates totally from the generally accepted philosophical proposition for the existence of consciousness - Cogito ergo sum, I think , therefore I am . Does nature think ?
Nature is aware, at least segments of it. Consciousness is the result of anatomy, anatomy is organized according to the discretion of micro subatomic particles interacting with one another.

If you like, call it chance or Providence, that's your business. What you cannot do is try to defend your holy book because it is a lie. The source of the universe never spoke to bronze age Jews.

KingEbukasBlog:
The universe is composed of independent constituents . They can function on their own like the sun , moon , stars , earth , man . Nature is just the totality of these independent constituents . Just one of these independent constituent is conscious does not make the universe conscious .

Man's toe nails , ears , eyes are not independent . Basically , the brain is responsible for man's conscious ; so if man dies his consciousness dies with him . If humanity is obliterated will nature still be conscious ?

Nature , according to your belief , is blindly creating things .
Everything was not done with purpose , it was not intended to be - resulted from random , chaotic , and chance-dependent processes . So if it creates conscious life by accident again , it could obliterate it . And conscious life may never emerge again .

Because nature's evolution is random , chaotic and chance-dependent therefore it is not conscious .Nature is not aware of its activities , that self-awareness means its conscious , but it lacks that . Evolution has no goal or direction - unconscious .

The reiterations are becoming banal .
You're all over the place. First, you say that the Sun is independent, without realizing that it is the Sun's relationship with empty space which allows us, and it, to remain in orbit. Nothing is independent in the universe. Like the human body, the anatomical parts of the universe work in tandem. Birds need room to fly around and nitrogen and oxygen need space to occupy. You see, all of those items have one thing in common, they are all composed of this same spirit particle once you break down their units.

Now let's address my beliefs that you love to bring up. At no point did I tell you that everything occurred by chance. All I'm saying is that Bronze age Jews did not speak to the creator of the universe and the Bible is not sanctioned by the creator.

Remember my analogy about a time watch that we both find on the street while taking a stroll together (no homo). Using common sense, it would be safe to assume that the watch was assembled by a human being like ourselves or a robot. What we both can not know, is the precise identity of the watchmaker. What is his or her name, how old is he/she, how tall is he/she, where do they live? We can only assume that a human being(s) is the author because that is all the evidence we would have at that moment.

Now, if you choose to make some additional assumptions, they must be grounded in similar logic. Just as we assumed a human designer based on our prior knowledge of the watch making process, we must use a similar line of logic to add extra assumptions. You could recognize the pattern of the serial number, for example, and use a hypothetical knowledge of the manufacturer's design process, to tell me that it was made in Stockholm. But you would still be required to satisfactorily show me how you acquired that information.
So you see, my beliefs are very simple. The universe sprung from a Source, a subatomic spirit particle, which can disguise itself as absolutely nothing. That's why all the calculations and models keep showing that we came from nothing. Until we can isolate this particle at CERN, the information on the table cannot infer intent.

There is order to the universe, as well as disorder. However, it's true that everything works in tandem, even the f.eces that is discharged from my a.nus is a valuable commodity to something somewhere, creature or plant. One may then choose to believe that our parent particle planned all of this with direct intent. That's fine. It's your beliefs, they are grounded in honesty. However, don't quote from a book and then shy away from presenting your evidence when I question you. You can never defend a good lie under the proper scrutiny. So what makes you think that a terrible lie, like "god told bronze age Hebrews" will survive?

You are living a lie, otherwise, even the diehard anti-deist atheists would have cowered under your arguments. The Bible was a very clever Illuminati plot with the primary intention being to make African people waste time. Africa lags behind every continent in every department, but p-enis size. We are kings of the big p-enis. Nigeria has had some of the brightest humans to ever walk, but take a look at the infrastructure? I know Nigerians who are scary smart in mathematics. I know others who put fear in Caucasian professors. What is it? It's the time wasting. Collective time wasting. That's why I've decided to devote my life to reversing that trend for the future generation of Nigerian babies.
