Some motorists who stopped to refuel at the NNPC Mega Station in Hotoro, Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, have driven out without doing so.

They had gone to the station with the thought of buying fuel at N540 per litre, but immediately they were informed of the upward review, they left.
One of the Staff of the station, who asked not to be named said, “the increment took effect this morning and as you can see, customers have been leaving.”
A tricycle operator, Nura Isiya, said, “This is ridiculous, where are we heading for in this country? Honestly I can’t buy at this price.”

A car owner, Shamsuddeen Muhammad, left the station without refuelling, saying he now preferred to buy from independent marketers who are yet to adjust their prices as at the time of filing this report.

“Haba Mallam, what is this? I have called someone and I can get it at cheaper price at least the N540 to N550 per litre in other stations.



“Let me rush there before they get wind of the situation and increase the price also. We are doomed in this country.”

Also speaking, a passenger said, “So now even the government is doing things without announcement?”

Daily Trust observed that over 30 trucks load of fuel are currently parked outside the premises of the State NNPC Depot.

Even at the mega station, two trucks, one for diesel and the other with petrol are about to offload more to the station.

Rather, it would be between the party that initially came first and the one that came second, which, in this case, is the APC and PDP respectively. All three parties cannot go for a rerun. It’s only if one of the top two candidates is disqualified that the third party can go for a rerun. Remember APM is holding Tinubu by his blokos and he might likely get disqualified.

Now if that happens, the PDP and Labour Party will only be able to run against each other on the ballots if the court decides to nullify the Tinubu and then orders a new election.

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore has been shut out of the emergency National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the ruling party.

Reports say the meeting is currently ongoing at the National Secretariat of the APC in Abuja.

According to reports, Omisore who was among the early callers at the meeting left the party secretariat without speaking with the media.

In a daring encounter that could have ended in tragedy, a student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), demonstrated tremendous courage and presence of mind when he found a long black forest cobra beside his bed.

With the help of a friend, he successfully eliminated the venomous reptile, averting a potential disaster.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon in Ogwashi Obukpa community, not very far from UNN Vet Road When Ebuka, a 21-year-old undergraduate studying Combined Biological Sciences at UNN, found himself face-to-face with a long snake identified as a forest cobra in his room.

Without hesitating, Ebuka swiftly contacted a friend, who rushed in with a long pole and with his help, they were able to kill the venomous reptile.

When interviewed about the experience, Ebuka expressed relief that the situation was handled without harm to himself or others. In his words

"I am still shocked but I'm glad that it's all over now and I give God all the glory. I just laid down on my bed when I observed a long black figure at the side of my bed and looking closely, I was face-to-face with a big snake. It was a horrible incident but thank God I'm safe. You all should stay safe out there too"

The general public are advised to be on the lookout for these creeping animals in their environment and take adequate measures to ensure safety.
