Those who chose to stay didn't stay because they couldn't pass any exams. Some stayed because they run their own private practices or other businesses and are doing fine. Some stayed because of other reasons best known to them. You don't have to write any exam to practice in countries like Saudi Arabia where the least doctors' salary is at least 4 to 5 times what obtains in Nigeria.

Let's learn to look at things objectively. AFCON is the only nations cup that happens in the middle of the major league seasons. No club would gladly release a star player to feature in AFCON when they need the same player in their league.

The same club pays the player's salary. Even when he sustains injury while on international duty, it's the club that usually bears the burden while the country's FA looks away.

Euro and Copa America are held at the end of the major seasons, not during the seasons. Tell your CAF to do the same rather than expect clubs to release their star players unexpectedly.

If you were a club president who bought a player for millions of Euros and pay him around 200k pounds weekly, you'll release him to play AFCON? And just so you know, you still have to keep paying his wages while he's away for AFCON.

Blame the sadist policies of some private sector companies. I know of a big company in Lagos that grants maternity leave for only 2 weeks. And that starts to count on the day you sign off work in anticipation of delivery, not from the day you actually give birth.

So, if the mother is working in such a cruel company, she has to resume within 2 weeks of giving birth or lose her job. Those companies abound in the country. So, if we have companies who grant maternity leave for just 2 weeks, you can imagine that a company that grants 2 months is even generous!

Consider that before blaming people for having to resume work shortly after delivery. There's no mother who doesn't wish to take good time off to nurse her baby!
