In less than two months, Tinubu moved petrol pump price from ₦188 to ₦525 per litre,

Tinubu also moved dollar to Naira exchange rate from ₦460 to a dollar to ₦800 to a dollar and still counting

We thought no one can be as bad as Buhari but Tinubu is worst

Nigerians are already missing Buhari
Lol beer parlour analysis

The incompetent failure that was PMB knew the dam wouldn’t bust until he left office hence his arrogance. Imagine someone coming here to say Dollar to Naira was 460 under Buhari lol

Honestly sometimes I wonder maybe God speared Obi because you just know some parts of the country would have been rioting if he was the one attempting to fix things

Couldn’t stop laughing while reading the part in bold. Why not just come out and call fergie001 a closet Batist. Or are you scared to tell the entire world that you’ve found Agbado in fergie001’s pocket? 🤣🤣🤣

Come fergie001, why did you ignore the part in bold in your response to this comment? You know I’m your friend, tell me how much Tinubu paid you to push this Tinubu 🌽 agenda?

On a more serious note, I think reasonable Nigerians can now see how vile, unreasonable, emotionally charged and logically deficient most of these noisy Obidients are. These are the set of people we’ve been dealing with across all platforms since last year. Will they stop by September like fergie001 said, I don’t know but I don’t think so.

Being an obedient is a disease. It makes people dead to logic and common sense. It makes them deny the obvious. They need healing after the court case.
So how come you’re the one derailing the conversation happening here with your vile, unreasonable, emotional charged, logically deficient and unsolicited psychoanalysis of so the called Obidients? lol

Disease is usually diagnosed from individual to individual and it’s pretty clear to anyone reading this thread who is infected here lmao

What’s the saying about a black pot and kettle again? lol

Is this bitter rant necessary? You made a beautiful post but spoilt it with this unnecessary bitter comment.

I am Igbo, a reputable man from my community is Femi Otedola's close friend and ally right from the time of Goodluck. He was among the people that mediated for Otedola when he was bankrupt and Goodluck bailed him. He visited Otedola almost monthly in Ghana where Femi was spending most of his time then until Goodluck came to power and bailed him. He is Igbo, he is closer to Femi Otedola than you that's same tribe with Femi Otedola.

My point is, only poor wretched and bitter people carry tribalism on their head like gala even when there is no need to.

I lived in Lagos for years, Lagos favored me a lot. I owe Lagos state tribute for my life's success. I cherish Lagos even more than my own state. I never wished Lagos bad, in fact I once wished Lagos could become a megacity like Paris, reason I supported a change in government in Lagos so Lagos can achieve its full potentias. I never for once disrespected Lagos and will never do. I paid all my levies and dues and even tax to Lagos state government. I contributed in my community development in Lagos because I was once a committee member of my LCDA and estate. We ensured we had adequate security. The chairman of my estate landlord and tenants association for over 6 years was an Igbo man.

Many of you go about spreading falsehood about Igbos and causing unjustified hatred for Igbos by falsely lying that Igbos don't honor or respect their host and I keep wondering how? This worthless claim only come to limelight every 4 years in Lagos that its election time that Lagos APC use the tactics to deceive bigots like you to vote for them and attack Igbos yet you refuse to use your wisdom.

Tell me categorically how Igbos disrespect Lagos indigenes in Lagos?

Don't start that Lagos is a no man's land mantra cos it was a positive slang started by a Yoruba man who was Lagos Governor and some Igbos used it to explain how welcoming Lagos is to everybody without discrimination. Never for once did Igbos contest to become Oba in Lagos or attacked Lagosians in a bid to snatch and take over their lands like Fulani herdsmen do yet you never for once condemned Fulani tribe for that.

God and divinity will judge people like you. Be careful in life, life is deeper than internet fun and cruise catching cos u are causing heavy hatred and distortion of truth with the potential of causing genocide and ethnic civil war.

What crime did Igbos commit in 2023? That Peter Obi an Igbo man contested for Nigeria's President? First time Igbos massively supported an Igbo Presidential candidate after Igbos supported Presidential candidates from other tribes; Shagari (Hausa), Obasanjo (Yoruba), Yaradua (Fulani), Goodluck (Ijaw), Atiku (Fulani) yet you guys have been going on rampage just because Igbos supported an overqualified and competent Igbo Presidential candidate for once.

Be honest, if it was Igbos that produced Obasanjo from 1999 to 2004, Osinbajo from 2015 to 2023, and still insisted they must produce next President in 2023, how will Yorubas and Hausa-Fulanis have reacted to it? You guys would have told the whole world how greedy, heartless and arrogant Igbos are and trying to dominate Nigeria. God is watch you all

Reno Omokri on Twitter: "When Abiola was in jail, the Yorubas did ...

When Abiola was in jail, the Yorubas did not destroy their region to force Abacha to release MKO Abiola. Rather, they used diplomacy to turn Abacha into an international pariah until Abacha was forced to offer Abiola bail (which Abiola ultimately refused). Mohammed Abacha was in prison for three years. How was he released? Kano elders sought an audience with Obasanjo in 2002 and publicly prostrated to him. The next month, the court freed Mohammed. Asari Dokubo was in prison for treason for two years until Niger Delta elders used diplomacy to get President Yar'adua to release him in 2007. What militancy could not do, diplomacy did! I cannot imagine any truly intelligent person saying until you release our son, we will keep destroying our region. Who loses? Fight intelligently, not forcefully. You are cutting your nose and thinking you are spiting those in power? And nobody can even counsel you guys. It is either you know better than those who want to counsel you and start to lecture them, or you insult them. The Yorubas used diplomacy as leverage. Kano people used it. Niger Delta used it. You, too, use it. It will serve you better than this path of self-destruction.

No government can give in to force. The minute they do, they are finished, because others will smell weakness and engage in their own violence.

All I know is that Tinubu and Obi have 1000x more in common with each other than they do with the incompetent bigot that is failed President Buhari.

If Tinubu retains his mandate, I don’t doubt that he will at least do 1000x better than his inept predecessor and pursue policies that promote economic growth. And if he does that then everyone will be alright. Same if Obi miraculously gets into the office. Both are competent individuals that like to surround themselves with competent people.

Most Nigerians don’t need their tribesman to be President to do well. They just need a competent President that isn’t actively destroying the country with foolishness.

PBAT is already showing he didn’t rate the job Buhari did at all and I hope he is courageous enough to reveal the sheer magnitude of PMB’s calamities as time goes on.

PMB owes Nigerians a public and lengthy apology but arrogance won’t allow him.

Nigerians who have been tasked with brandishing the propaganda machinery of the APC and this current administration, know next to nothing.

In a bid to harmonise the dollar exchange rates at all levels, Tinubu decided to pull his first governmental experiment with the floating of the dollar against the naira. How he consciously sat down and reasoned that floating a currency whose availability you have no control of was the right move, just smirks of stupendous economic buffoonery.

Now the demand for that currency is through the roof, while your apex bank cannot even meet up this demand for imports and exports businessmen. We're not even talking about Nigerians schooling in the diaspora yet and what they need to fund their tuitions. And as it stands, any right thinking person will realise that this very policy is going to take a tumble in the days ahead. But in the heads of APC supporters, their god pulled a masterstroke.

The hunger is just beginning!
Bro what are you saying? Are you arguing for Buhari’s economic illiterate policy of dual Naira rate?

Unifying the currency rate is just good policy. It might just take some time for that to be clear but pretty much all competent economists agree that it is necessary.

You’re displaying the same trait you’re accusing Tinubu’s supporters of. This is not the policy to attack Tinubu on. This one is on his failed predecessor

Well. I used to think so until I spoke to several UK citizens and found out that many people actally wanted Brexit even though there weren't much justifications to non-UK citizens. The poll was actually a true representative of what the people wanted.

The major problem is the preparation for it's implementation wasn't as solid as the politicians made the citizens believe.
You make a good point but it’s important to note that at the point when Cameron promised a referendum, brexit was polling poorly. Brexit was also polling poorly when the referendum was announced. It was viewed by many as a far right thing

It wasn’t until Boris, a former mayor of London and fairly mainstream politician, jumped on the bandwagon that it started gaining steam. Cameron pleaded with him not to.

I agree though by the time of the election many people supported it (obviously brexit won). I voted in that election lol (to remain) but I had many good conversations with people that felt brexit was the way. The tide turned very quickly

I’m convinced that Brexit would have lost if Boris didn’t support it. Nigel Farage could never have won it on his own as it would have been viewed as just a far-right campaign.

N3TRAL:
I'm agnostic too. As a Christian I believed in evolution.

It's not even complicated science. I'm a lawyer and it means that I had little exposure to STEM courses.

Even if one believes in creation, one cannot disregard the evidence of the "original" created living things changing their form over time because of a plethora of factors. Human beings are growing taller. Domestic animals are growing bigger. You do not see the changes in the evolution of bigger animals like Lion and Cattle in even a 10,000 years. After million of years of mutation, you can look back and see how much they've evolved.

The big animals are made up of cells which are largely microscopic. These microscopic organisms mutate and evolve everyday. For instance, treating malaria in Nigeria is becoming difficult because malaria parasites are evolving to resist anti-malarial drugs. Using same antibiotics over time may prove ineffective because the bacteria they were designed to fight have evolved to resist the antibiotic.

They're are environmental and biological changes that bigger animals fight everyday which means that we evolve everyday. If a specie isn't evolving at a faster pace to resist these changes, they risk the possibility of extinction. For bigger animals like us, the change becomes obvious after hundreds of thousands or millions of years.
You have brilliantly explained the facts of evolution. But does that mean the “theory of evolution”, which is the general idea that “all species are related and gradually changed over time”, is also a fact?

I bet virtually all Christians accept the fact that living things change. We can literally observe it will our own eyes if we wanted to (viruses etc). What people reject is the “theory of evolution”. You can chose to explain the facts in a different way. Even some atheist scientists argue against the theory of evolution today.

PS: The main argument Christians have with Atheists is about the “theory of evolution”. Some Christians try to dismiss this as just a theory in layman’s terms (almost guesswork). This is wrong because a scientific theory is different and there is very strong evidence & scientific consensus about the “theory of evolution”. But it still doesn’t make it a fact

This simple illustration will demonstrate how unable you are to understand the definition of a scientific theory.

Theory of evolution explains a fact called evolution.
Atomic Theory explains a fact called Atoms.
Cell theory explains a fact called cell.
Dual inheritance theory explains a fact call inheritance.

You got the definition form Google but you are not educated a enough to understand it.
A theory in science explain natural facts, Evolution is a fact, the theory of evolution is the bes explanation we have for it.

Atom is a fact, the current Atomic theory is the best explanation we have.
Cells are facts, cellular theory is the best explanation for it.

Theories can change, the facts don't change. We can edit our explanation for evolution through theories, it doesn't mean that evolution just like cells will stop being a fact.

I thought comprehension was core part of English language in schools? How come that simple definition of scientific theory was so difficult for you to grasp if you didn't pass English language via special centre?
Again I don’t like the phrase “Theory of evolution explains a fact called evolution.” It is misleading because it leads the reader to think that evolution as a whole is only a fact. Can you show me a scientist that uses this exact phrase you keep using?

What scientists do say is “evolution is a fact and a theory”. It’s a fact because we have observed organisms changed particularly on a micro level (viruses etc), among other things. If you explain it this way then I don’t doubt even the person you’re replying to, accepts that evolution as a fact because we can still observe those things today.

But evolution is also a theory because that tries to explain how humans, mammals and other creatures we see today came to be. That theory is not a fact even though it tries to explain facts. Scientists have extremely strong reasons for the theory of evolution, and even I accept it (it easily aligns to faith in my opinion but that’s conversation for another day). But do you know there are fringe scientists that reject the theory (less than 3%) and they aren’t all religious.

You clearly have a boner for arguing against Christians and trying to make them look stupid but choosing to explain science with phrases intentionally designed to confuse doesn’t really help your cause lol

It was worse than pride: sheer stupidity!

The Tories were not even as pro-Brexit as they claimed. Cameron was shocked and devastated by the Brexit win.

Leaving the EU was akin to killing the goose that laid your golden eggs.
Tories were under some pressure from UKIP and Nigel Farage when Cameron was seeking re-election. Cameron decided to promise a referendum on EU because he viewed it as an easy way to appease the far right minority in his party that were clamouring for it. Many of them were only doing so because they feared losing their seats to UKIP. Surely the UK population would never vote to leave right lol

Unfortunately for them, Boris Johnson saw the referendum as an opportunity to boost his popularity among the far right conservatives to maybe one day become prime minister and suddenly it wasn’t just some far right movement.

Cameron was openly against leaving even though he was the one calling the referendum. If Brexit won he would be forced to resign, which he did. I doubt even Boris really wanted Brexit. It was just politician after politician climbing on the movement for their own personal ambition. In fact many of them did so because they believed it would never actually happen.

Just comical all round.

Besides, Tinubu is the only political figure today that has not deviated from the philosophy of Awolowo.

I was in the polling booth on the day of the presidential election, an Edo man was canvassing for Tinubu, telling me of what they enjoyed under Unity Party of Nigeria. He just saw foolishness in the pursuit of Obidients. The same goes for iller rates whose votes were meaningful in the rural areas.
The truth is that both Obi and Tinubu were competent (although you can definitely question Tinubu’s character and Obi’s national experience) candidates who are both a thousand times better than the inept and bigoted Buhari.

Ultimately Nigerians have won because an arrogant and useless President has left office and he didn’t get to chose his successor (the incompetence affected his ability here too lol). The current President is under huge pressure from the opposition to perform which is also good news for us all.

My biggest fear right now is that the next Buhari is probably scheming to take advantage of the southern divide and oust Tinubu from office in 2027. In fact Atiku is probably scheming today to get a second ballot election via the courts, head to head against Tinubu, where he can try to capitalise on this southern divide.

But everyone on this app is enjoying their Igbo vs Yoruba tribalism. Okay oh

It's obvious this protest has the nod of the president. It's like a subtle threat.

Yes, there were clear cases of vote rigging in Lagos and Rivers state.

Despite all these, Tinubu would still have won the presidential election.

It was jitters that made them resort to brazen rigging in Lagos as they would have had an embarrassing beating. Nevertheless, Tinubu would still have gotten the 25% and would also still win the elections.

As for Rivers state, I doubt Tinubu would have gotten even the required 25% threshold rather than the outright win he got. All it would have meant was that Tinubu's 25% voters threshold would only have been in 27 states rather.than 28.

This is still greater than Atiku's 20 and Peter Obi's lamentable 16.
I supported Obi hardcore before the election (still do) and I’ve said exactly the same thing before. It’s a huge shame for APC that the election was rigged and interfered with as it was because from all I’ve seen Tinubu would have most likely won anyway, or at the very least been poll position on the second ballot. A second ballot versus Obi would have been uncompetitive imo.

Yes Lagos, Rivers and Benue may have been heavily manipulated but there’s not a lot of evidence that the same thing happened in other southwest or northern states where Obi performed significantly below expectation. Unless there’s more information about rigging that I’m unaware of (which is possible lol), it looks like Obi had no path to the spread.

Anyway it could turn out to be a blessing for us all because weak mandates can make good presidents. Buhari had a strong mandate and that made him arrogant in his incompetence.

God bless Nigeria ❤️

I agree with you that arguments should not be about who wins it but about the education and enlightenment it provides. But I refuse to be categorized as someone who argues to win rather than arguing to learn.

Like in this situation, we are all speculating on what the judges will likely rule. And you dare not claim to know what they would decide and provide it as a fact that should not be questioned.

You, I, Fergie, non of us know anything for sure. And until the court rules, it’s reprehensible to present your position as unquestionable.

I will say it again, the FCT has a special status in the constitution and for anyone to be declared president, he must score 25% in the FCT. That’s a constitutional provision. And until the courts interpret it otherwise and establish a contrary authority, don’t question my position.
I have gone back and forth with this FCT status thing. I mean it does make sense; FCT doesn’t get to elect its own Governor and has only one senator. It is the capital territory and is expected to be the most diverse in the country. It’s not really a huge ask to require that the candidate that wins the popular vote and also has spread in 24 states in the country also has to get just 1/4th of the votes here. It does say a lot that Tinubu couldn’t secure it here. The English interpretation of that line leans towards FCT being required as well.

On the other hand, the strongest argument against the FCT requirement in my opinion is not the lazy section 299 but rather the consistent use of the phrase “states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja” in the constitution. That kind of negates the strength of the “and” used in that line since the constitution consistently uses that phrase throughout the document.

It’s definitely open to interpretation so I’m fully expecting the courts to go with the ruling party if I’m being honest
