ilovewater89:That's exactly the point! You don't believe there could be something he needs from you. What if there's something in your DNA that'd cure all diseases? But that's just an analogy. But if he actually came to find you in Abeokuta, you'd think it's a stupid dream. Impossible! Same way - Many Christians don't believe the Holy Spirit can come into them because they think they are too unworthy. So they ask and they receive, but they still doubt it. They think it's their brains playing tricks on them. |
LordReed:I just gave you two popular explanations for the beginning. God. Big Bang. LordReed:This is where you said "your god" to me. |
LordReed:I've not mentioned that I believe in God. Why do you assume I do. You're also guilty of what you accused others of. |
Okay Now it is logical for everything to have a beginning. So if you don't believe God is the beginning, and you don't believe it's the big bang. Tell us your views about how it all started. People assume (probably erroneously) an atheist believe in big bang because that is the only (known) alternative explanation to the creation of the universe. If there is any other alternative you know, kindly educate others. Thanks. |
MaxInDHouse:Why do we have 40,000 denominations? It's because people have decided to follow the doctrines of men, rather than the teachings of the Holy Spirit. Every denomination is one man (or small group) interpreting scriptures based on their own personal circumstances or interests - even JW. Was it not certain people in the past that came up with your doctrines? Did they not say they read the scriptures and we're taught by divine inspiration? How come you're told now that they must teach you? |
* This is the man who ordered annulment of the elections that was deemed the most free and fair ever in this country till date. * The military dictator who spent 8 years (two presidential terms) without setting up constituted civilian rule. Until there was chaos and he was forced to "step aside". * The man whose IMF inspired SAP policies plunged the country's economy into all time low at that time. Naira plunged from ₦1.70 to ₦22 against US Dollars. * The man who made corruption an institutional thing, and caused it to be Nigerians' default settings. * During his tenure 103 (or so) soldiers were overloaded into an aircraft that only had capacity for less than 50. It crashed on takeoff around 7pm, nosedived into a swamp. No search and rescue efforts started until 11am the next morning. And as reported by dailies, most of them died due to suffocation, being trapped for several hours in sealed aircraft. Not the impact of the crash. * During his time, Dele Giwa was killed by letter bomb, and an eyewitness said the letter had presidential seal. What service did he do to our country?? |
MaxInDHouse:Listen to yourself oga. I don't think you even read what I said before you responded. Otherwise, you would have directed me to a certain place in the scriptures. |
Youareforgiven:If Biden enters your house now and you see him clearly, and introduces himself as the President of the United States of America, you would think it's a prank. Why? Because society has made you to believe you're too unimportant for him to come visit you. So also because the wrong doctrines people have been taught over the centuries. They don't believe they received. Jesus said, He knocks the door of our hearts, if anyone opens, He will come in. The Holy Ghost will not sneak into your heart. He would come in when you open your heart. But because many think they must speak in tongues or prophesy immediately, they mistake His identity with "inspiration". They fail to recognize Him. PS The scriptures never said Paul spoke in tongues the day he received the Holy Spirit. Go confirm. Teachers assumed it. But he said later that he does speak in tongues. It doesn't mean it was from the first day. |
blacknp:Because he lost election means he doesn't have some useful or even better ideas than the incumbent? And I thought I was quoting someone who has sense. |
MaxInDHouse:Teaching others in the context of Matthew 28:19-20. Those others are people who were yet to hear about Jesus, or have not yet received Him. Mind the context. That was a period in time when there was no bible and the old testament scriptures that existed were only available on Jewish scholars. And no known new testament books. There was no way to read anything on your own, in your house. So people needed to be taught the word of God by mouth. Jesus said the Holy Spirit will guide you into ALL TRUTH (John 16:13). That is, every truth of God's word. 1 John 2:27 says you don't need any man to teach you because you have the "Charisma" of the Holy Spirit. Every Christian must get to that point. Hebrews 5:12-14 chides those who still needed to be taught to grow up from being fed milk to become adults who eat meat. We must transform from being students into teachers. So when we are in church, it should be a meeting of teachers, sharing knowledge, not a lecture hall. Except for those who just got reborn - And if we teach those correctly, they would also sit with other teachers quickly. In fact, in a few days or weeks, a new convert should be able to start discussing some spiritual insights. From these it's clear that it's not Jesus's intention for a Christian to be a learning student of other people, at least not for long! |
Just to avoid distractions. Simple. |
When scripts, with missing parts, are translated thousands of years after they were written, in languages no one truly understands again, by people who probably have their own personal views, authorized by rulers who probably have their own political agenda. But despite all these, you cannot say the books were not divinely inspired. The main problem is forming doctrines on information you're not certain of, where misinterpretation of a single word can change the true meaning of a 100 other words. Instead of following the doctrines of men, follow the Holy Spirit, get a concordance and check the origin of the words, not a commentary that is greatly influenced by the doctrines of the commentators. Then you will be truly reborn. |
So she can later file sexual assault charges against him. Awon werey. |
Youareforgiven:I'm sorry I can't tell you details. But yeah, there are places where politicians meet privately and all security details stay outside. If you've been in your private office for the last two hours and your boss asks you to his office just across the hall, you might not notice the 4 men in suits at the secretary's entrance are DSS people. And if you didn't look out the window, you will not notice there is heavy police and army presence in the vicinity. I've been in the same building with a state governor before and I didn't know because I was busy in my office. And it was not a big building. |
blacknp:The question you should be asking is, why does he have something to say? - It's a democracy, people should talk no matter who they are. - Because the incumbent's performance is highly questionable. It is a brain failure to leave the facts someone makes in a critique argument and attack the person instead. If Obi says the govt bleeped up, show us facts, not attack his person. If madman says you're dirty, show us your cleanliness. You insulting his insanity back means you're equally mad. |
Youareforgiven:Him. Not "it". |
Youareforgiven:Haha. A Nigerian was once in the same room with GEJ in Abuja (Maitama) while he was president, and did not recognise him because he never thought the president could be in that building for any reason. Until his boss told him to greet GEJ properly before he realised his foolishness. Same way Dangote or Biden can be in your boss's office on Monday and you won't recognise him when you enter. When you least expect someone to be somewhere, you could mistake their identity. That's the point. Modified The Holy Ghost is not a compelling spirit. No gragra. He represents Jesus's virtues - including humility, patience, and wisdom. The fruits of the Spirit that Paul asked us to focus on - those are the virtues the Holy Spirit brings into your life. |
Youareforgiven:From your words you sound like a Pentecostal. Yes, people receive the Holy Spirit and don't know. Because they've been erroneously told they have to speak in tongues at that moment. Or that after they get born again, they should get baptized, start living "holy" life, fast and pray before they receive. That quiet voice is in their hearts, gradually reforming them. But they don't recognise it. |
But the real advice to any Christian is in this: Stop thinking about sin or what is it or not, it only gives it more power. Make the Holy Ghost your companion, He will guide your daily life such that you don't fall into sin or stay in it. |
Sin is one or combination of any of these: * Harm to oneself * Harm to others * Harm to God If gambling is harming you, your family or the Holy Spirit advised you to stop, then it becomes sin. To say gambling is sin absolutely, then you should also seriously consider Forex trading and stock market as sins. They all involve predictions based on historical information and permutations. |
You're right. But many people don't even know they have Him, hence they don't listen to His teachings. |
blacknp:Maybe. But even if he's the worst human being on earth. Criticizing him at this point in time won't solve any problems. |
tricksters:Brain failure is real. What success do you have to celebrate? Naira devaluation? Subsidy crises? Electricity tariff hike? Redundant refineries? Incessant farmers killings? Is it Obi's past state govt that'd fix them? If not for brain failure, you'd focus on the current federal govt and talk about solutions. |
When Mercedes still had excellent build quality. From the generation of Opolo Eye, quality has declined. Peugeot is still Peugeot. |
So does that justify why FG cannot increase wages? Well, Peter Obi has turned into a standard of performance for you guys. |
Ebubu3:There is hardship and hunger in the land and the only thing you could think of is what Peter Obi is doing. Why not ask Tinubu, being the leader, to direct himself, all APC lawmakers, govs, etc. to all use Innoson. Since you so much care about local consumption. Abunu! |
Phones have average lifespan of two years. If it doesn't develop fault, the android version (or any other OS) will become outdated. I once bought a 3G phone in 2005, and a blackberry in 2006. I regretted both, because their network techs did not become available around Nigeria for years later - I didn't enjoy the phones. My advice? Don't buy 5G phone for now. You won't enjoy your money. |
If really you know what you're doing, you'll get that bike in 24 hours. Nonsense. bobby007: Ibrahimcoomasie:It's because of shallow minds like these that this country never developed. Turning simple things into rocket science. Even within France itself, there are many companies selling Olympics specs bike. Let's now say you want to buy from another country (which doesn't make sense given the situation), you use diplomatic package and get it delivered in no time. But because Nigeria is an unserious country that wastes talents as much as we waste time and resources, there will always be an excuse for failure. And some dim wits will still come online to defend nonsense. Mtcheeew. |
When you have dumb leaders who can't think for themselves. |
Just one thing - money! |
That is the helinues |
Did you notice most of the girls are wearing hijab for Edo, Abia, Delta and Imo states? |
