Georgry:Truly, APC supporters are retards. What brings Obi into this matter now? Who cares what Obi would do, as long as he's not in power yet? Is it that you guys see him in your dreams every other night? The way you APC supporters are obsessed with Peter Obi is concerning. |
Last I confirmed somewhere in the north was 7k for a big tuber. Zwooks:First, you've forgotten how many villagers were killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Benue state - mainly yam farmers. Yam supply has greatly reduced. Then you forgot how many farmers in northern Nigeria have to pay bandits millions of naira before planting and harvesting. Cost of yam (food) production in those places are in all-time high. You also forgot the sudden rise in food transportation costs because of fuel subsidy removal. Now you forget that those farmers would also buy other stuff from the same markets as other people, where inflation has increased all prices. Won't they survive?? If you're indeed a farmer, you would know these things. |
That's a junkie. They beg you for money and if you don't give them, some start swearing and cursing. Just ignore her, cos if anything happens, they'd say she's not of sound mind to make good judgement. Na you wey normal go enter trouble. And really, you should know better. |
Lack of sense. Compete with who? Importers?? Are you even okay ![]() One of the major causes of high dollar exchange is because we lose a large chunk of the dollars we make from crude oil export to importation of petrol and diesel. Imagine you are a corn farmer and all your children and wife go to the next village to buy roasted corn that is your daily meal. Now your first son set up a grill to start roasting corn on your farm, you gave him some money. So, first, you asked him to go buy fresh corn from the city to come and roast on your corn farm. Second, you say his roasted corn must compete with the one you buy outside. Third, you are the biggest mumu in the whole world. |
He learned from OBJ, who also did same. Those presidents actually had the desire to make things work. But you see PMB and BAT, they just wanted to be president for the sake of it. |
othermen:So the money goes to the govt and they now remember they can afford presidential jets and fleets of cars? I'm not against govt controlling more money, but how have they (mis)managed the one they control?? How have they cut down the costs of governance? Think! |
helinues:Reason the govt must do everything to make that refinery work as projected! Many of you guys think it's Dangote's money that is wasting, narrow thinking. All those tax waivers and Forex subsidy he enjoyed was our money, which could have been used to equip a hospital or build road. Now, the benefits of that refinery to our economy is being undermined because of "monopoly". It is double loss for us. Sad how many don't see the big picture. |
Interest rate need to reflect the inflation factor. If interest rate is supposed to be 6% and inflation rate is 20%. You have to add it up and make the effective interest rate 26%. Else, no one will be willing to invest their money. Imagine lending someone 100k (that can buy 3 bags of rice, for instance) and after one year he pays you back 106k, which now buys only 1 and half bags of rice. Ironically, profit margin is usually 10-20%. So no way you can normally afford 26% cost of capital unless you want to rip off your customers. Reason why foreign investors shun our economy. |
Chinkoalhaji34:Ask questions! How will it improve the system?? What would improve the system is if the next most senior officer is always appointed, free from any political influence. When your time is up, leave for next person. Then the person can do his job without fear or favour. |
TimeManager:There is more than one truth! Think about the box and add more truths. We're far from meeting up with OPEC quota. Whatever contractual agreement we have (if actually true) will be based on this quota. So, we simply just overproduce crude oil beyond this quota. The excess is for our local consumption. We don't have sense in this country. |
Na wa o. See frustration. We all know Dangote is a monopolist. But wouldn't we rather allow this monopoly and gain substantial foreign exchange? This period that the country is broke? At least for the time being that the market can expand with other players. In situations like this: The US govt sees more national income The UK govt sees more taxes (and fines if you Bleep up) But the Nigerian govt only sees Dangote - Reason I gave up on the country, leaders lack capacity to see the big picture. |
Paraman:It's a pity some people have thrown away their brains. Your govt is borrowing to do everything amid record high inflation; and you're happy they "said" your external reserves is increasing. Imagine your bank account is fat, yet you still beg for daily bread. Who's deceiving who? You should know something is not right, even with half the brain. |
This Reno Omokri is now the presidential spokesman for Tinubu. ALTERNATEID:Obviously you're paid. |
underpinna:No one can mentally survive that. |
After collecting customs duties calculated in dollars. |
Once a very powerful man. Outspoken. Dangerous. |
Let anyone who has died before tell us o. |
Should you confess when you tell a lie? Jesus said anyone who has not sinned should be the first to cast a stone. He didn't say anyone who has not committed adultery. Sin is sin, non the greater. |
OBIGS:First, a waste cart pusher probably has no other means of livelihood. Second, not everyone in Lagos can afford LAWMA fees, reason they turn to these cart pushers. What should the govt do then? Regulate them! 1. Areas of operations 2. Times and days of operations 3. Cart specifications 4. Allowed roads and traffic rules 5. Registration/identification 6. Tax them ** This might look theoretical, but it's a good framework to build upon. We should always think outside the box and recognise the fact that the Lagos society has different parts. We should be looking for how to take advantage of every part towards development, not just summarily eliminating them because we "think" they're annoying. This is how India became a world power. |
Just Japa |
What did NDDC achieve in all these years? Now you're bringing another one to waste our money. |
LegalWolf: ObiPandora:Because I criticised Lagos means I'm Igbo, or I celebrate Abia? Have you ever seen anywhere I mentioned Abia/Otti, ever? It's very annoying because I'm pure Yoruba. Even if I did celebrate Abia (which I never did), does that make what Lagos is doing right?? Are the two states' revenue comparable? The political class have reduced everyone to beggars, for what is your right, you will be praising them for giving you a small portion of it. The way anybody who criticised Buhari was tagged "enemy of Nigeria", same way anybody who criticised Tinubu is Igbo now. It's even a waste of time debating with you guys because "Zombie no go think unless you tell am to think" (in Fela's voice). |
Certainly one or more of your friends (Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode) or even you owed those pensions. How did that even happen considering the IGR Lagos boasts of, if not wickedness. Imagine owing 2,000 retirees for only God knows how long. Some would have been dead. It is not an achievement. It is simply your obligation as a debtor to pay the people you owe. |
If not for cluelessness or selfish African leaders, do you need "advanced countries" to tell you how to manage your affairs? |
Why not build artificial flood channels instead of demolishing? There's always a better solution if you think outside the box. |
Anybody living in Lekki knows flood will certainly visit them. |
richiemcgold:This should have been prevented in the first place! Obviously, some drainage channels were blocked by sand/vegetation or whatever. If those guys are doing their jobs right, those channels would have been cleared before the flood. How many productive manhours must have been lost today? We need proactive governance. |
Note most of these cars are over 10 years old! And there was a time in this country the middle class could buy latest brand new cars - tear rubber. Now you can't even afford any of these with 500k monthly savings in one year, not even 17 year old corolla! |
... if you can! It's very expensive but it's worth it. Don't believe anybody telling you here will be better. First, it's a mentality of someone with limited imagination - the world is a big place, don't limit yourself to a small part of it. Second, all those people have children abroad, and who can leave this country within an hour in case of an emergency. Some say, why become second class citizen elsewhere? I ask, what privileges are you enjoying as first class citizen here? In fact, except you're rubbing shoulders with politicians and rich men in naija, you're NOT a first class citizen! Some say, why spend millions to Japa when you can set up a business here? I laugh. What is the future of your business when your customers keep getting poorer and can't afford to buy your products again? Unless you're eating from the same plate with the govt, no future - ask those in business today. If you know how many businesses have died in Nigeria in the last 30 years, you'd think twice. Some say, why leave white collar and go for menial jobs abroad? Yet diasporians send foreign income home, the govt is even bragging about it. But whatever works for you! Shock - many Nigerians have white collar jobs abroad. Why you should Japa? 1. Sanity. We don't behave normal here, it's when you travel to a civilised world that you realise how abnormal you've been. 2. Better prospects. Just like career. If you work in a big company, you compete better than others in the job market. So also if you live in a first world country, you can almost relocate to any other country in the world. 3. Escape stress. Once people Japa, their prayer points reduce. You're not praying for light so you can iron your clothes, blend pepper, freeze your soup; or even pump water! Nor pray to get clean fuel or original engine oil. Nor pray before you travel by road or train. Nor pray to not see long queue at the ATM. Nor pray that official will be in good mood to answer your queries... The list here is endless - things that shouldn't even take split seconds of your thoughts. 4. Better secured future. Nigeria is a volatile environment. Things change erratically. You can't plan on anything, the only thing you plan for is the unknown - ready to change your direction on the fly. But really, when you have family and kids, you can't do that easily. 5. Help Nigeria. Soon you'll start sending money home and improve our foreign exchange. Help decongest the over populated space. As more and more Nigerians succeed abroad, it's better for us in the long run. Western govts always put their weights behind their citizens' businesses abroad - e get why. 6. Help your children. Don't let them grow up thinking it's normal to have potholes on the road, or get debited and the bank transfer didn't go. In the global context today, growing up in Nigeria means you're already handicapped trying to run 400m dash with able-bodied people. 7. Live to fight another day. Things are tough now, may get much tougher with govt borrowings and no viable means of paying back. Soon, nobody will be willing to lend us money - then the real inflation will come. Travel and make some hard currency, when things are much more predictable, come back. Nigeria has everything it needs to succeed WITHOUT ANY foreign assistance or FDI. When I see a govt that believes this, I'd know we're on the right track! But until then, Japa if you can! |
Nonsense |
It's not only about CPU or RAM. The OS also greatly influences how your device perform, among other hardware and other overhead apps. Read up technical reviews and comparisons before making a decision. This is why a phone with slightly lower CPU/RAM can possibly have better performance than the other. The keyword here is EFFICIENCY. |
Truth is many people cannot become rich at the same time. Once it becomes a trending thing, don't join to waste your time! Bitcoin did not trend until it suddenly became valuable - the few who had it became rich. Anybody trading it now, who didn't have it before it blew up, are wasting their time. |
