Why not build artificial flood channels instead of demolishing? There's always a better solution if you think outside the box. |
Anybody living in Lekki knows flood will certainly visit them. |
richiemcgold:This should have been prevented in the first place! Obviously, some drainage channels were blocked by sand/vegetation or whatever. If those guys are doing their jobs right, those channels would have been cleared before the flood. How many productive manhours must have been lost today? We need proactive governance. |
Note most of these cars are over 10 years old! And there was a time in this country the middle class could buy latest brand new cars - tear rubber. Now you can't even afford any of these with 500k monthly savings in one year, not even 17 year old corolla! |
... if you can! It's very expensive but it's worth it. Don't believe anybody telling you here will be better. First, it's a mentality of someone with limited imagination - the world is a big place, don't limit yourself to a small part of it. Second, all those people have children abroad, and who can leave this country within an hour in case of an emergency. Some say, why become second class citizen elsewhere? I ask, what privileges are you enjoying as first class citizen here? In fact, except you're rubbing shoulders with politicians and rich men in naija, you're NOT a first class citizen! Some say, why spend millions to Japa when you can set up a business here? I laugh. What is the future of your business when your customers keep getting poorer and can't afford to buy your products again? Unless you're eating from the same plate with the govt, no future - ask those in business today. If you know how many businesses have died in Nigeria in the last 30 years, you'd think twice. Some say, why leave white collar and go for menial jobs abroad? Yet diasporians send foreign income home, the govt is even bragging about it. But whatever works for you! Shock - many Nigerians have white collar jobs abroad. Why you should Japa? 1. Sanity. We don't behave normal here, it's when you travel to a civilised world that you realise how abnormal you've been. 2. Better prospects. Just like career. If you work in a big company, you compete better than others in the job market. So also if you live in a first world country, you can almost relocate to any other country in the world. 3. Escape stress. Once people Japa, their prayer points reduce. You're not praying for light so you can iron your clothes, blend pepper, freeze your soup; or even pump water! Nor pray to get clean fuel or original engine oil. Nor pray before you travel by road or train. Nor pray to not see long queue at the ATM. Nor pray that official will be in good mood to answer your queries... The list here is endless - things that shouldn't even take split seconds of your thoughts. 4. Better secured future. Nigeria is a volatile environment. Things change erratically. You can't plan on anything, the only thing you plan for is the unknown - ready to change your direction on the fly. But really, when you have family and kids, you can't do that easily. 5. Help Nigeria. Soon you'll start sending money home and improve our foreign exchange. Help decongest the over populated space. As more and more Nigerians succeed abroad, it's better for us in the long run. Western govts always put their weights behind their citizens' businesses abroad - e get why. 6. Help your children. Don't let them grow up thinking it's normal to have potholes on the road, or get debited and the bank transfer didn't go. In the global context today, growing up in Nigeria means you're already handicapped trying to run 400m dash with able-bodied people. 7. Live to fight another day. Things are tough now, may get much tougher with govt borrowings and no viable means of paying back. Soon, nobody will be willing to lend us money - then the real inflation will come. Travel and make some hard currency, when things are much more predictable, come back. Nigeria has everything it needs to succeed WITHOUT ANY foreign assistance or FDI. When I see a govt that believes this, I'd know we're on the right track! But until then, Japa if you can! |
Nonsense |
It's not only about CPU or RAM. The OS also greatly influences how your device perform, among other hardware and other overhead apps. Read up technical reviews and comparisons before making a decision. This is why a phone with slightly lower CPU/RAM can possibly have better performance than the other. The keyword here is EFFICIENCY. |
Truth is many people cannot become rich at the same time. Once it becomes a trending thing, don't join to waste your time! Bitcoin did not trend until it suddenly became valuable - the few who had it became rich. Anybody trading it now, who didn't have it before it blew up, are wasting their time. |
GanagiBitrus:That's why you should not believe there's hope in the future. Those who believed then are now elders - nothing they can do again. |
True. Govs have diminished the our cultural heritage and made it into laughing stock. These are one of the misdoings Awo, Zik and Bello. Meanwhile the British who told us to dismantle our royal institutions still have theirs intact with full powers of the king to confirm (or reject) the election of every prime minister. |
Always back up your assertions with scriptures, and we're talking about new testament in this case. |
At black market exchange rate now: Currently rice is cheaper in the UK than Nigeria. Milk has always been cheaper Cereal (oats, corn flakes, etc) has always been cheaper Mackerel (Titus fish) is cheaper Potato (Irish) is cheaper Onions, almost same price Bread, eggs, vegetable oil are about the same. Chicken is about the same. Canned tomatoes about the same (fresh is luxury) And this is current, after the UK inflation news you're hearing on BBC. Yet, you have a lot more money at your disposal in UK. Of course, African foods (anything tropical) are expensive in UK just like European foods are expensive in Africa. |
Interview questions from companies that have little or nothing to offer you in return. |
What we should have is a parliamentary system - a lot cheaper to run and easier to remove incompetent heads of govt. |
If you have the opportunity, don't hesitate. Just Japa. |
When I used the phone, many people had not even heard the name before, not to talk of buy it. BB plans were between 33k - 100k (yes, that's correct!). Found a way to use WAP/GPRS, which connects for about 15 mins. Nobody to even ping. By the time it became a symbol, I had moved on. |
If you love God with all your heart, and you love your neighbour as yourself. There is nothing more you need to be taught. It's that simple! |
These people no get shame at all. From 1m to 650k, now it's 100k you're negotiating. Who 100k epp? It's even more sad that some state govts won't comply, or introduce additional taxes to collect the money back. |
Let's not go far. Anyone who attends the older Churches know that there is always a general meeting where they give account of how they have spent the church money. And those claims can be queried by any member. |
You should have stopped the dogs and demanded they state their mission. |
See how you guys turned a common problem into senseless tribalism. Which ever camp you belong to, you're in the same economy. Shege and sapa no know the difference oo. |
SpiritualWealth:Your opinion. Do or think whatever you like. After death, you'd know what becomes of you. Just be ready to face whatever comes, as your choice. |
SpiritualWealth:My advice for you is to find God yourself. Go into absolute seclusion for several days with one thing in your heart - you want to really know God. You will find Him, and all the answers you seek will come to you. Come back and tell us the whole experience. |
Dey play. You forget that God has a much better plan than this current world. |
Even Paul had to correct Peter at one point. That's Peter who walked physically with Jesus for 3 years, part of the inner circle of Jesus, one of the first to ever receive the Holy Spirit. So, no pastor or GO today, 2000 years after, can be free from errors. And when we realise this, we will spend more time meditating on the word than the time we spend in church. |
The truth with Christianity is, any thoughts contrary to the doctrines they teach in church is demonised as heresy. So many of us lack independence of thought. They've constantly drilled it into our brains that we can never be good enough to know the bible well unless we get ordained or "anointed". So here we are, following erroneous doctrines, afraid to recognize the voice of the Holy Ghost, but following fellow humans. |
goodconsience77:Thank you oo. In fact it's (almost) zero compliance everywhere. They always quote Malachi only because it's the most convenient for them to instill guilt and fear on people. They have made themselves rich on the gospel. Thank God I snapped out of that 419 doctrine many years ago, by the help of the Holy Spirit. |
goodconsience77:I like the fact that you went to Deuteronomy and not Malachi. But read that place carefully. Go to Deuteronomy 14, from Vs 22. You are supposed to bring the tithes of your (farm) produce to a place where God will instruct. And if it's too far, sell your produce and use it to buy food, wine or strong drink (highly alcoholic beverage), WHATEVER YOUR SOUL LUSTS FOR. Eat and drink with Thanksgiving for God's blessings. The levites, and less privileged will now come to that place to take their share. So that no one will be hungry. Reflect on this and check if any church collecting tithes today is complying with this (original) commandment. Then update your post or quote me. NB - they don't comply because there are either liars or ignorant. Tithing is not Christ's standard. |
goodconsience77:The pastor that is driving Rolls Royce and flying private jets abi? Quote somewhere in the new testament where it was said that they are the priests! |
Una don start abi. Brainwashing principles. Kingdom wealth is NOT locked, so you don't need any key to unlock it. As a Christian, focus on Jesus Christ and let the Holy Spirit be your companion. You will have what you need when you need it, in abundance, such that you can help others with excess. |
Wetin you go talk before? Everything opposite of allegation, whether true or false. |
We believe you're talking to the retards so continue. |
