Passing an exam doesn't mean you have knowledge. It just means you're able to take in and recall information at the right time. This is why developed schools now use projects or dissertations as means of testing knowledge. Even the few exams are mostly case studies - not just "define what, explain this, describe, or enumerate 5 factors...". Besides, you will fill exam malpractice form and get rusticated if caught using chatgpt. |
Why is this even news? Is C&S not church of Christ? Even if it's inside shrine, he can attend the event as an ambassador of Christ who has brought light into the darkness! |
rapheal5:1. Seems you didn't apply or interview for this. Red flag. 2. UK employers will always confirm your work authorisation status before offering you a job, even if they want to sponsor you. 3. The letter is ambiguous about the job role itself, date of commencement or salary figures. 4. Employers issue a COS (Certificate of Sponsorship) with details and reference codes for you to apply for a visa, they don't apply for you. 5. Work permit and health assurance are not common terms in UK. Instead - skilled worker's visa or health and care visa, and IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge). That site they gave you to help prepare your documents is where they want to rip you off. |
Jamesclooney:I've not explored Coventry. But Holbrook is not on crime watchlist according to online sources. Guess you'd give us firsthand update in 6 months. ![]() |
blackbone989:Maybe we could connect when you get to UK. |
rentAcock:They have managed to technically increase the number of Almajiris in Nigeria. People who could previously fend for themselves are now reduced to collecting food packs to survive - a phenomenon that was only common to less privileged children in the North. The likes of you are obviously too mentally incapacitated to even know the responsibilities of a govt. That's why you could type this rigmarole. |
So you want to design an e-commerce website for 15k! It is the likes of you that makes this profession not to develop, because there's always one newbie who thinks he could do 100 websites in a few months and make 1.5m. Fact is, it never happens. No serious business man will pay 15k to one guy for this kind of job. They'd doubt you know what you're doing! I don't do websites again, but 10 years ago I'd charge not less than 50k for a simple website unless you're close to me. E-commerce not less than 150k. And that was 10 years ago! If you really know your stuff, price yourself well and stop spoiling things for others. - 100k Laptop back then is now 500k - Fuel price over N600 now was N87 - Electricity tariff was N15, now going to N225 - Rent has gone up. - The price of everything else has gone up, web developers too need to survive by growing their prices. I'm no longer a player in your market, but I'm speaking for those gurus whom clients will tell "But one guy said 15k, why are you charging 200k? That's ridiculous!" Thank you. |
Tithe is wrong . Simple! You can CHOOSE to commit any percentage of your income to propagate the gospel and help the needy. Anything different from that is scam. It would have been better if you support each of the 8 points with relevant scripture too. |

Ourtruth247:Hypnosis could produce memories as well as hallucinations. Not reliable. CIA is not an authority for esoteric knowledge. They too examined ancient artifacts no one truthfully understands. Remote viewers could easily be conspiracy theorists. Near death experiences have been largely categorised as brain hallucinations. You astra travelled? Cool! But how are you sure it wasn't a purely psychotic event. People have been known to see/experience things that align with their religious beliefs during mediations, trance, visions and near death experiences. Psychedelic experiments are unreliable, same reason as above. If you could believe the gnostics and ancient texts, then Bible, Quran, Ifa and other religions should have valid arguments to you too. What makes you think they're all wrong? If you believe shamans, you should also believe Christian and Muslim prophets how go into deep meditations and trances. They all come back with some rare esoteric knowledge and energy. No alien contacts have been proven. But the Ebora/iwin (Yoruba), angels and demons are all aliens by definition. So if you believe a reptilian or gray alien is real, you should believe the religious people too. Whistle blowers... Conspiracy theorists? Can't be sure. Science doesn't believe in souls/spirits separate from the body. So they can't possibly believe in reincarnation. My point is, if you're so keen to knock down established religions for having inaccurate/wrong information, they too can knock down your beliefs for the same reasons. And science would attempt to knock down everyone's beliefs. Like I reiterated, you would tend to experience what goes with your beliefs. And you will criticise others' beliefs as false. That's what all humans do. |
Ourtruth247:Now let me criticise your beliefs based on mine. (Book of Genesis and Enoch) Those 4th dimensional entities are the watchers or the fallen angels who are exiled from heaven for their rebellion. They taught humans advanced technology, resulting into super ancient civilizations. They came to earth and slept with humans to produce the giants that you mentioned. The giants and those civilizations were wiped out by the flood. Reason the civilizations were always discovered underground or undersea. The watchers are immortal, so they're still lurking around the earth till today in that 4th dimension (spirit world). Some are the princes Daniel spoke about. Some are demons that possess human hosts. Some just cause strange unexplainable phenomena we sometimes observe around us. Some take different forms which we call aliens today. Don't forget they still have their tech, hence the UFOs people see. Now because the devil has failed to trick many strong believers into thinking there is no God, he has now devised new means to make them think they're worshiping the inferior gods (4th dimensional entities, Annunakis) that you're talking about. Many will fall for the trick sure, but those that know their God shall be strong and shall do exploits. |
That's not a good report. Kidnappings should reduce, but you're celebrating rescue. What is wrong with this country? ![]() |
blackbone989:You need your UK address to register for NI, DBS, Tax, Open bank account, and just any other thing that requires registration. You typically should get these done in the first month of resuming your job, so settle accommodation ASAP. |
blackbone989:Okay. The biggest challenge most new people have in UK is accommodation, especially when coming with children. But you would find it relatively easy. Use Spareroom or Openrent apps, you'd most likely be speaking directly to landlords. Unlike Zoopla and Rightmove that are mostly agents who would pile up requirements new entrants find difficult. Start booking for house viewing a week before you travel, so you would do the viewings that very week you arrive. Your move-in date may be pushed forward than you'd expect. Make sure you have a dollar MasterCard or visa before you travel. It will make your life easy in the first few weeks. You can get stranded in the UK while holding cash. The day you arrive you can buy a UK SIM card at the airport for like £10 and have instant data connection and free phone calls to any UK line. If you don't buy at the airport, you can buy at any store you see. Roaming data on a Nigerian line is more expensive - I wish someone told me that before I arrived. It's better you fly directly to Birmingham Airport. If you use London Heathrow or Gatwick, book a National Express coach online to Birmingham, two weeks ahead for cheaper fees. Make sure the coach departure terminal is same as flight arrival terminal at the airport. Don't use train! It's not only over double the price, they have minimal luggage spaces. Faster though. Every other thing is plug and play. Google maps will be your best friend the first few months. |
Innovators visa If you can get one rare lucrative business idea that is new to the UK. You can register a business and get this visa. Usually better for someone who is already in the UK. You will be allowed to run your business, but you can only get employed in another company as an executive or senior manager. Dependent visa As flexible as Global talent visa. No limits to work hours or businesses you want to run. Your 5 years requirements start counting from day 1. No need to say much about this. More on life in UK... |
blackbone989:Nice! First is to make sure your employment offer is not zero hours, i.e the company states the minimum hours they want you to work for them every week. Accomodation is relatively easy in Birmingham, the price range is wide. But generally avoid places like Walsall, Basal Health and Handsworth. Every other place should be okay to live in. Nigerians are many there. So also Indians, Pakistani, Chinese and many Africans and Jamaicans. Birmingham is very big. Transport is easy - buses, trams, trains, taxis (Uber and bolt). Are you traveling with family? |
Student visa Pros The easiest to obtain. You can convert to Graduate visa in the short term (2 years) after you complete your studies. You can convert directly to a skilled workers visa if you get a sponsorship job within 3 months of completing studies. Should you decide to relocate to another country (Canada, USA, Australia, EU countries), your UK degree will open doors of (sponsored) jobs for you. You can bring your family with you if it's a research masters or PhD. Cons It's very expensive. You need proof of funds covering tuition and living expenses. You can't work more than 20 hours weekly. You must complete your studies before change your visa. The time spent studying doesn't count for 5 years required to get permanent stay. Work visa (skilled or healthcare) Pros Inexpensive. Some employers may even cover all your visa fees and relocation costs. You don't need proof of funds in most cases. But if you do, it's just for one month living costs. Qualifies you for permanent stay after 5 years. You can bring your family. You can work additional 20 hours weekly with a different employer besides your sponsor. You can do additional 20 hours running your own business. Cons You must get a full-time job first. To change your primary job, you must get another visa sponsorship job. This makes getting another job challenging. And you will also need to change your visa every time you change jobs. Some employers may require you to work some years before you can change jobs. Not common, but some employers may be highhanded since they know sacking you means you lose your visa (there are labour protection laws in place to safeguard against this, and they are effective if you know your rights). Global Talent visa Pros This is the best visa route for anyone. You don't need a job offer to get this visa. You are free to do any number of jobs without restrictions for hours. You are free to run your own business. You can change jobs or occupation without changing visa. You can bring your family. After 3 or 5 years you qualify for permanent stay (depending on the category of the talent visa). Relatively inexpensive. Cons Qualifying for this visa is challenging, you most likely must have had UK education, or a PhD, or be a tech guru, or successful business innovator. The stakes are high. You need proof of funds for living expenses. This list of visas is not exhaustive. I will also mention a few others. |
I am going to start this thread with a question: Is it worth it to leave your job, sell all your properties and start afresh in the UK? Short answer: YES. Long answer: You really need to know what you're doing! The kind of life you want, and consideration for your kids will inform your choice. You must be adequately informed and not just follow the crowd. But even those who come online to complain, they never say "I've gotten my air ticket back to Ikeja"! There are three good visa routes to the UK. Student visa Worker's visa (skilled or healthcare) Global talent visa. I will say the pros and cons of each one shortly. But anyone you choose, you're likely thinking of where would I work? What kind of job will I do? First, I must say that there's labour dignity in the UK. Whether you're doing white collar, construction, cleaning, care,... Whatever!... No one looks down on anybody. And no job is dirty in the sense of it. Everybody gets their respect. So before you wonder why that banker took a care job and didn't return to Nigeria instead, this is a highly civilised society! Second, you can't oppress anyone with money. A minimum wage earner can drive 2024 model car (finance), buy a good house (mortgage), wear premium clothes and shoes, occasionally eat in a luxury restaurant or go clubbing, travel outside the UK for vacation once a year, and have good health care. Not that it's easy, but it's achievable if you don't spend anyhow and you plan well. Third, if you working, no matter what you do, you can't be a poor man (in the Nigerian context of being poor), but you can't be wealthy either. Taxes are designed to keep it that way. You will have enough, and some extra. That extra depends on your income level, and if you manage your expenses well on high income, you will save enough to live large in a less expensive country after 10-20 years. Fourth, if you're permanent resident or citizen, the govt takes care of you if you're unable to work due to health issues. And the benefits are such that you will still eat good food, live in decent accomodation (subsidized), wear good clothes and even have a car. That's one of the reasons taxes are very high in UK. The empowered people feed the less privileged. It's a form of insurance for you too, in case something unexpected happens to you and you can't work for a considerable amount of time. UK has strict immigration policies for obvious reasons. Before you're allowed in, you must be bringing in a good amount of money, or a very valuable skill to contribute to the economy. Now, let's dive deeper.... |
tollyboy5:Instead of your govt to tackle challenges of local production, they are using fire brigade approach by using importation to TEMPORARILY drive down prices. As if you don't know what's happening. Bandits are taxing our farmers heavily, millions of Naira monthly or quarterly. They risk death and kidnapping if they fail to pay the bandits. After then, the farmer is now at the mercy of herdsmen not to destroy his crops overnight. What of fertiliser distribution? Akinwumi Adesina (under GEJ) solved that problem before by removing middle men, using direct phone contact. Only for next govt to reverse that policy on a lame excuse. No effective policy on mechanised farming since 1960. Now you're here praising a policy that will further wreck your naira in the coming years. Leaders are truly a reflection of their followers. When followers don't even know the govt's responsibilities. |
Asonaijaaso:This matter is on individual basis. Some Nigerians are using their masters degree for top paying prestigious jobs in the UK as we speak! Truth is many Nigerians are inadequately informed about the UK job market, and most just follow the crowd. |
Diego35M:If not that you're an infant mentally, you would have been asking questions that add productive value to your life. |
Pussyisgud:The problem we have in Nigeria is we always say, it could have been worse! That's why we don't call people who have authority to be responsible. You will be surprised that that school may be charging 500k to 1m per student. And if you know how private schools use teachers like rain water, you'd see my point. |
Never be idle if unemployed, keep building your skills and portfolio. One day, you will catch up with those in full employment now because the only difference is that your own experience would be in an informal setting. Also, if you have family or friends who own small businesses (even if na shop), you can offer them cheap or even free web development services (if you're not busy). You will add up all these in your CV/portfolio as professional experience. You can also think of app ideas. With your web and UI design skills (if you know some JavaScript), you will be able to handle mobile app Dev. Who knows whether that's how you are going to hammer! |
Manofsteelx:Finland Estonia Germany Other places in Europe too are great, especially eastern Europe or Scandinavian countries. Healthcare is generally good and more pocket friendly than US. Having ND though, find advanced diploma courses in software dev/design for study route. At least one year study grants longer stay in most places. If you land a remote job, go for tech nomad visa. A number of European countries grant nomad visas quickly. Also Don't limit search to remote jobs, you can get visa sponsorship jobs direct from Nigeria in places like Germany, Bulgaria, UK, Spain, Netherlands, etc. (legit, not runs). Nigerians are in all those places, language is not a barrier! Build a great LinkedIn profile and CV to reflect you have experience, and keep expanding your skillset. Take every opportunity to learn something related to dev/design and use GitHub when you can. |
Lies! Really what do these people gain by spreading misinformation? |
Huh? |
Find your way into Europe instead. You might be able to get papers faster than in US. You're right about remote jobs difficult to get from Nigeria, there's third world country stigma, unless you've worked with a very big company before. But it's not impossible! Don't stop trying. Study route is the easiest to get out. Due to your condition, don't go to US. Health system is VERY expensive in the US. Even middle class citizens spend their life savings on chronic ailments. UK may be a better alternative. |
But really, what's your business with how she decides to meet her sexual needs? Grow up! |
She doesn't trust you! Going through your things is a way to find out if you're a potential ritualist or involved in other bad things. |
So you want to pay a university graduate 70k? |
tiswell:Whether traditional or white or islamic or court. It's a wedding. Marriage is the life you live after wedding. |
