PoliticsRe: Fulani Herdsmen Promised 23 Million Votes For GEJ During 2015 Election by Wesely01(m): 3:12pm On Jan 11, 2018
sarrki:
A Fulani socio-cultural group known as Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has revealed that it would mobilise 23 million voters for President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general elections.

This was made known on Monday in Abuja by the national leadership of the association led by the chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo and secretary, Saleh Alhassan Kubah.

Leadership reports that Bodejo claimed that 23 million registered voters belonging to the association have decided to support Mr. President because of his Agricultural Transformation Agenda.

Bodejo further explained that both the ethnic Fulanis and pastoralists have been able to mobilise more than 23 million voters for Jonathan, adding that they have an efficient means of mobilising their kinsmen whom they directed to register in all the places they live and have done so. He said these are the votes they promise President Jonathan in the 2015 general election.

The chairman, who listed the prominent Fulani pastoralists serving in the Jonathan administration to include the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adamu Mu’azu; the private secretary to the president, Alhaji Umar Tukur; political adviser to the president, Prof. Ahmed Alkali and the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Balla Mohammed, distance themselves from involvement in Boko Haram activities. He said they were elated as well as support the agreement reached between government and the sect.

Speaking on the effects of the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency and the continued conflicts between farmers and herdsmen in the country, Bodejo called on government and other relevant stakeholders to immediately wade in and end the violence in the northern region.

Speaking also, Engr. Kubah debunked reports of suspected Fulani herdsmen involving in sectarian crises, especially in Nasarawa and other northern states.

“The crises you spoke about are multi-faceted and stems from the struggle for power in the states. Former IGP, Mohammed Abubakar instituted a high-powered committee comprising of DIGs to unravel the root causes of the crises and they had since submitted their report. The Fulani pastoralists were exonorated but unfortunately were caught up in the political crises,” he said.

Engr. Kubah further explained that the Egon people, unleashed the Ombatse Cult against the Fulanis and others, but following JTF’s intervention, the crises was quickly stemmed. He said what they have left in Nasarawa state is cattle rustlers and miscreants parading themselves as Fulani pastoralists.

He condemned the fact that they (Fulanis) were being victimised and targeted for unnecessary profiling and criminality which he claimed security reports have exempted them from.

It would be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, September 18, decided on a sole candidate for 2015 presidential elections, and it is Incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.

Also a group known as the New Dawn Nigeria (NDN) promised the highest number of votes to President Goodluck Jonathan from the South-West in the 2015 presidential electionselections

PoliticsRe: Osinbajo: Buhari And I Poorly Paid by Wesely01(m): 11:40am On Dec 19, 2017
deji17:
Osinbajo: Buhari and I poorly paid
Posted By: Augustine Ehikioya, On: December 19, 2017

The President’s and the Vice-President’s pay is low, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo said yesterday.

He criticised the private sector for not respecting the national minimum wage law, which puts the lowest pay at N18,000.

Speaking at the end-of-year seminar of the State House Press Corps at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Prof. Osinbajo said he earns about N1.5m as Vice-President; President Buhari earns about N1.75 million.

To him, the pay is not commensurate with the offices they occupy.

The vice president also expressed misgivings about the remuneration of journalists and lawyers, saying journalists’ case is unique because many media owners make big revenue but simply refuse to pay good wages.

He recalled his brief encounters working with media houses as legal adviser and how in all the months he worked he was not paid despite the irregular hours he put in.

Osinbajo spoke of entry into journalism as not rigorously regulated or enforced by professional bodies because untrained persons are allowed in.

He added: ”I realised first of all that this (journalism) is not a profession from which one could make a decent living in the first place unless you find a really good way of doing so.

”But more importantly for me is that you are just on your own. Journalism as a profession is so wide open.

”There are a few reasons in my view why remuneration is poor.

”The first is that it is just simply cheating. There are owners of media that are just cheats. They just want to get something from nothing and that is not uncommon, it is a general malaise, it is not necessarily restricted to the media.

”It is also the same in the legal profession. There many lawyers if they tell you what they earn, you will certainly not want to be a lawyer.

”The private sector does not respect the minimum wage. Even if a minimum wage is set nationally, it is not necessarily respected by the private sector and this is something that should be factored in to the status of a company and whether a company is even complying with the requirements.”

The Vice-President urged journalists to brighten their prospects and future by always seeking ways of improving themselves and getting better job opportunities with attendant improved income.

Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura, represented by the Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Kwara, was the chairman of the ceremony.

He said: “It is important to note that a good retirement plan starts the very day you are employed, knowing that whatever has a beginning has an end; 35 or 60 mandatory years of service are certainly not eternity.

”It must also be stressed here that it is not too late to plan even where you have just few years to retire from service.

”The most important thing is that you have a plan either of money saved or of the job you intend to carry on after retirement. Put every other factor in place such as your age, strength and the mental capacity to carry on.” he advised.

He added “It is important to state, therefore, that the uncertainty on payment of entitlements has continued to worry Nigerian workers, making them fear retirement.

”This has led to prospective retirees falsifying their age just to enable them stay put in the service.

”In this regard, a lot of corruption induced activities have continued to infiltrate the MDAs and the organised private sector responsible for managing pension,” he said.

Kwara listed 10 ways to prepare for retirement, including saving, knowing your retirement needs and contributing to an employer’s retirement savings plan.

Others, according to him, are learning about employer’s pension plan, considering basic investment principles, not touching your retirement savings, asking employer to start a plan, think of creative ways to be self sustaining, find out about one’s social security benefits, and asking questions.

The guest lecturer and Chairman of Elumelu Foundation, Tony Elumelu, said retirement should not be synonymous with being tired or giving up as it should be a stepping stone.

He advised working journalists to pursue their purposes with passion, stressing the need to increase capacity in readiness for the next phase

He said: “Entrepreneurship is not a function of age. Set your milestones and work towards accomplishing the milestone.

”Entrepreneurs are resilient; they persevere to succeed. You don’t need to give up easily, it requires sacrifice, discipline.”

Others who presented goodwill messages were Minister of Information Lai Mohammed; Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and Special Adviser (Media & Publicity) to the President Femi Adesina.

CareerRe: Firdaus Amasa Insulted Those Who Begged Her To Remove Her Hijab - Twitter User by Wesely01(m): 10:03am On Dec 17, 2017

Firdaus Amasa was not called to bar cos she refused to remove her hijab to conform to the standard of the profession of Law. Her case generated lots of reactions in social media as some quarters are it as preventing her from practicing her religion while some say she ought to know that the profession doesn't allow anything that doesn't go with its standards.

A Twitter user who was present during the happening said she and many others, Christians, muslims, young, old and even a policeman pleaded with her to remove the hijab, go for the call to bar then she can out it back on. She refused to listen to their please and even hurled insults at them. Other Muslim ladies removed their hijab before going in for their assessment. Some even begged her while a relative of hers tried to help her remove the hijab to which she refused. According to the twitter user, when they saw that their begging was falling on deaf ears, they let her be cos she was already becoming a laughing stock.

Tweets below.
I’m very positive she doesn’t know what an hijab is ? I will give a proper definition. The hijab is a head covering, generally a veil or a scarf, worn in public or in the presence of non-familial adult males by some Muslim women. The hijab is an often misunderstood religious and cultural symbol and custom.

One question madam hijab , was hijab on your head when they gave birth to you huh? You were told about it and you want to disturb peoplehuh? Your religion is your heart and not what you falsely put for us to see, be obedient that’s show a good traits of well thought religion.

Another Female law graduate vow to attend call to bar with hijab next year
http://mrrightsng..com.ng/2017/12/another-female-law-graduate-vow-to.html

Following the refusal of Nigeria Law School to call Miss Firdaus Amasa to bar for refusing to take off her hijab last week, another female law graduate from University of Ilorin, Laylah Al-Mubarakah has vow to attend the same programme next year with her hijab on.

The father of the lady, Alhaji Abubakar Aliagan, a lecturer in the university of Ilorin went to social media to announce the resolve of his daughter in solidarity with Firdaus. He stated that, ''MY DAUGHTER, EVEN IF AM NOT ALIVE AND THE MATTER IS NOT RESOLVED........YOU RECEIVE MY BLESSINGS........IN THE LIKE MANNER THE FATHER OF FIRDAUS IS NOT DISTURBED''

Alhaji ABubakar Aliagan wrote on his facebook page as follows:

Firdaus Amasa is a daughter of a dear friend. She was not call to bar because she was adamant on her Islamic mode of dress. She was a year ahead of my daughter at the Faculty of law, University of Ilorin. When her courageous father, Mallam Oba Amasa, came to my house ( he sometimes pray the SALAT in my mosque) to break the news to me, my only regret is that Firdaus was left alone in this struggle. How I wish my daughter is there this year to stand behind her.

Whether this matter is settled amicably in the court or not, my daughter, LAYLAH AL-MUBARAKÀH, has vowed to be the next victim. She wrote the following lines in her blog.................

Reading the news that our courageous sister, Amasa Al jannah Fidaos was not called to the Nigerian bar because she refused to remove her hijab brought tears to my eyes. Is Fidaos the only muslim lawyer out there? Others should have joined her. I wish there were more muslim females like her. To some you may think what she has done is rebellious. But to me it is courageous and she has maintained her stand as a muslim.

Imagine this, A girl has been brought up in the way ordained by Allah right from her birth, she has been wearing the hijab from then, She has never for once remove her hijab just for the sake of being called to bar she has to remove it. Removing the Hijab is being naked.

I have been asked several times that will i remove my hijab when i am to be called to Nigerian Bar? I always answer that I dont know. But Now, I have my answer, Amasa al jannah firdaos has provided the answer.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria particularly Chapter 4, Section 38 (1) of the 1999 constitution and Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right, provide:“Every person shall be entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom (either alone or in community with others, and in public or in private) to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance.” Is denying her entrance in to the hall because she is wearing the hijab not an infringement on her right to practise her religion?

To Firdaos, you were our Ameerah in National Association of Muslim Law Students Unilorin Chapter and you led us well, When you were the Ameerah, through your humility and selflessness you inspired me to be like you . Now you have laid the foundation to justice and i pray and hope your efforts will be acknowledged. I celebrate you and to me you are a Legend.

This is a wake up call to every muslim in Nigeria, to fight for this injustice and use the position and power the Almighty has bestowed on you all to fight for this injustice.

MY DAUGHTER, EVEN IF AM NOT ALIVE AND THE MATTER IS NOT RESOLVED........YOU RECEIVE MY BLESSINGS........IN THE LIKE MANNER THE FATHER OF FIRDAUS IS NOT DISTURBED ........

On a serious note this make no sense . This present government is just playing with future of young Nigerians and everyone is looking at them . For realhuh You mean you guys can’t put those girls into various fed uni on scholarship then a private uni which ordinary Nigerians can not afford to attend . No light , no water, no good security , no good education also. What a country.

In 1999 tinubu had nothing. How was he able to buy a jet plane in less than 10 years when the only job he held in that period was as lagos governor. He is a walking and talking poster boy for corruption
I was shocked to see someone like Tinubu calling Jonathan a corrupt man . Tinubu should pls keep quiet because his corrupt activities in Lagos is worst than any other state.
