nikiihardehx:-You need a letter from you faculty saying you will be on holiday during your proposed travel dates. - certified copy of your student photo ID - certified copy of all pages of your international passport (old n new passport) - ordinary passport photograph (x4 with white background) -flight itinerary -Hotel bookings for propose travel date (don't make payment) -Bank statement of your sponsor (include yours if you have one) - Yellow fever -Application form - Activities while in Australia - Not necessary though but can be a plus. Just fill it up. They need you to spend your money while in Australia. Put your name and signature Nb) the writing in bold are suppose to appear in columns Date | Activities | Accomodation. You just have to arrange it yourself. |
nikiihardehx:Why didn't you travel? You don't have to tell me. Why not travel to the UK and maybe other Schengen countries? Get a South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia visa spend two to three days before traveling to UK? After you return to nigeria, you can wait for another school break before you apply for a visa to China or Vietnam or Malaysia or Singapore before applying for Australia tourist visa. Sound tedious but its the way. If your are a genuine tourist, you can't leave all the beautiful creations of God in Africa, Asia just to fly into Australia. They will hardly believe you do be leaving the country after your visit. Another way to go is via conference. Otherwise you may be denied visa, trust me. I have traveled a lot and I have assisted people in getting their visas. It takes upto three months for a decision to be made on your visa. |
President99:You should be fine. Provide same documents you gave to your uni to the immigration. Schools make sure you are qualified to enrol in a course (course you can study if their are pre-requisite and you english language ability) while immigration on the other hand ensure you are a genuine entrant (your finances and health condition) |
miie:I am not surprised if economic recession was the reason for denial. I know someone who was denied on the ground of political upheaval in Nigeria. Did he provide a genuine bank statement? Has he mentioned anything about the current state of Nigeria to his CO? His best bet would be using a registered immigration lawyer (mara) to reapply. If he still has more time, reapply quickly otherwise defer the admission, get a new ecoe and reapply. |
nikiihardehx:I doubt if embassy is in a position to access your level of english ability. Schools are responsible for that. If in any case they presume you need to brush up your english they will recommend an elicos program for you or advise you seat for an english test (IELTS). It is your duty to convince your school you do not need an English test. Write a standard letter saying english is the official language of Nigeria and has always been the medium of learning. Provide evidence such as Waec, Neco results. Ask your dean of faculty to write your a supporting letter if you are applying for msc. Ask your principal for recommendation letter if you are just a school leaver. Your clear and concise letter can help them waive Ielts for you. |
bellong:If your journey brings you to hunter valley we shall meet ![]() |
nikiihardehx:I can guide you on a tourist visa. Need to know you standing. Are you a worker or student? Do you have travel history? Do you have a sum of money sitting in your account for over 4months? Regarding student visa you need to apply to a school and after your admission is out, you can return here. |
Osamuzi:Hi What's it regarding plz? |
ajehe:Cost of living in big cities are high as well as opportunities too. You can decide to live in inner surburbs and drive or commute to cbd. But don't expect to find jobs in surburbs unless you are expectionally lucky. Check what skills you have and browse for jobs in those cities. Some people rent a room in sydney cbd for $400- $500 a week. Same money can be used to rent a house of 2-3bed rooms in inner surburbs. Do your findings. Ask Google search and google maps. |
Solitin40:National Stores are Salvo - Salvation Army Vinnies There are heaps of local stores that sell priced used and new clothes.others sell good furnitures and house hold appliances. Target, Rivers sell affordable clothes too. |
President99:If you are on scholarship and have informed your school you will be traveling by yourself then don't include any of your family members. Including them will contradict your e-coe. However, you can request to change your e-coe and then include those who will be traveling with you. Note that you need to have extra health cover for you dependants. With your scholarship you do have better chances of getting there visas with your application unless one of them has health issues which may delay your processing. The con(s) of bringing them in later is you need a letter from your university stating you still a valid student (attend lectures etc) and you may be required to provide a bank statement for their application. The choice is all yours. |
classichsy:I am in NSW. Sorry i hardly use the email i registered on this website. If any thing please ask here. Many thanks. |
penitential:You can browse or search for a school by following this url http://cricos.education.gov.au/ You can search for your course of choice and also know what the tuition fees is and who to contact. Most schools now use agents in application processing. The agent assigned to you will inform you on what documents you need to submit. Unfortunately most schools require you to score a certain band on you IELTS hence, you may be able to convince your school by providing them with supporting documents from your previous university stating English has been the medium of your study and may be garnish it with letter from your employer too. Hopefully that works for you otherwise you may have to seat for ielts |
I laughed after reading some comments. How on earth are we going to become a developed nation. Those who are in power of authority are using it as a means of oppression. There are heaps of hippy / hippies in America, Britain and Australia. They are treated fairly like everyother citizen. There lots of educated Nigerians but our orientation is still shallow for such reason we will continue to hit rock buttom. Perform your duties as an immigration officer and leave religion out of work place. |
classichsy:Browse through the link i have sent to you, its all there |
classichsy:Not really. It depends on your case officer, if they are in doubt your visa could be granted with that condition. Atimes it comes health, carer, and student visa (for those under sponsorship). Check on your visa. It should be on condition(s) sector. Conditions may be; you cant stay more than 3months on each visit, you can't study, you can't work and no further stay. Here is a link to check your visa online: https://online.immi.gov.au/evo/firstParty?actionType=query |
vtino13:To secure a job from Nigeria you need to have wealth of experience under your belt and must have studied a course that is highly in demand. Eg Medicine, Engineering. If you are a fresh graduate in Engineering and have studied in a recognized university you may be qualified for a skilled recognized graduate visa. Find out more: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/476- Visa processing is between 1-3 months. Check link below https://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/temporary-work-visa-processing-times Fruit picking does not require a cert. Hence, you need a valid working visa. |
classichsy:A 'No Further Stay' condition is a condition that prevents the visa holder from applying for many temporary and permanent visas while they are in Australia. 'No Further Stay' conditions include 8503, 8534 and 8535. If one of these conditions has been imposed on your visa, you cannot apply for another visa (except a protection visa or a temporary visa of a specified kind, while you are in Australia). When you depart Australia a 'No Further Stay' condition will not prevent you from applying for other visas. diggy4real:Majority of the schools in Aus hardly ask for processing/application fees except things have changed. Even thou you are applying via an agent, you still not expected to pay since agents get commission from school on every sucessful applicant (a student who has been given admission and has paid part of their tuition/acceptance fees) from them. |
BB2016:Look there are ample opportunities in both countries. Personally I would prefer to live in US when it comes to business opprtunities and connecting back home. On the other hand I do prefer Aus when it comes to health care. Am not saying there are no business opportunities in Aus it is just difficulty making profits when you compare with same business when done in the US. If you decide to be a salaryman or wages-man, Aus is better than US. If you are in search of PR after studies; I wont be able to speak for US (smattering knowledge) but for Aus you can be sure of having one in a year after your studies off course if you meet the requirements. |
classichsy:Yes you can apply for it if your visitors visa has no further stay condition on it. This link could be of help https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/189- You can also assess yourself using this link https://www.acacia-au.com/skilled-migration-points-test.php The processing time is upto a year. Meanwhile, you will be given a bridging visa which will allow you remain in Australia until a decision is made on your application. G'Luck |
classichsy:Permanent Residence or PR allows you to remain in a country indefinitely. In Australia you may have a few clauses to your PR if defaulted can lead to the cancellation. |
BB2016:I mate your question is a little bit ambiguous. If you narrow it down or make it consice, you may get the answer you are after. In the meanwhile dive into the urls for more reading: http://www.51ustudy.com.au/en/college-application/academic-difference/ https://thesiswhisperer.com/2012/03/02/five-life-saving-suggestions-for-international-phd-students/ Having said that, irrespective of what you are after USA exceeds AUS. |
I was just wondering if anyone has had an exceeded expectation or wow factor from a Nigerian Embassy overseas cum abroad / Passport office at home. I have had the opprtunity of visiting different embassies for visa purposes or to seek information and I can assure you that the treatment I received has been 100 folds better than how my embassies overseas or passport office do. We Nigerians take our previledge of service as a position of authority. Forgetting our primary duty is to serve the people. My question is, do we have a body that look into issues like this? If anyone has complained in the past, were your complaints heard and acted upon? In Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and Australia I have lived in; there are separate bodies for certain complains and these bodies even thou operated by the government are there for the interest of the masses and not for the government or private organizations. I had a New Zealand visa denied in 2012 on the ground I wont return to Australia after my visit. I appealed the decision until it got to the office of the immigration minister. Is that possible in Nigeria? Never! For the past one week, I have not been able to contact Nigerian Embassy in Canberra. You can't even leave a message as the message box is full. They hardly reply your email. How would you expect one to travel 4-6hr by air and road to the embassy and what is the assurance your problem will be addressed? The best Nigerian embassy I have dealt with is the one in Tokyo. They are helpful and efficient in every way. Is it because they have been influenced by the Japanese culture? It is very disheartening the way we are been treated by our own country men in office. Some Nigerians overseas are in search of Jobs but only minutiae make into the Embassy because locals have been given the jobs. Pleass have your say if you have had a good or bad experience(s) with the Nigerian Embassy or Passport Offices and advice on how we can made our voices heard by the top authority. |
foreverkind1:It is possible you could be asked either by email or phone interview. |
foreverkind1:Hopefully your case officer doesn't ask you what you were doing during the interim (between your graduating from high school and now). Am not really sure what the fees for undergraduate program is. Are you seeking a course that will lead you in securing PR at the end of your studies? |
foreverkind1:Depends on your case officer and how busy they are. Usually it is 1 month processing time although some have been granted within 2-4days. The trick to get it faster is provide all the needed documents so your case officer don't have to message you requesting for addition documents. |
guadete:Heaps of information about universities and who to contact can be found on this website http://cricos.education.gov.au You need to consider location when choosing a school. Tuition fees may be cheap but how about finding job (s). If you are loaded then find school you can afford while focusing on your studies. |
shoopsy:Sorry forgot to include the link ![]() http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/services/skilled-migration-wa/how-to-apply-for-state-nomination |
shoopsy:Yes you have higher chances of getting your PR if you're nominated or sponsored by a state unless your fail health examination. Here is a link to Western Australia nomination. You can search for nsw, victoria, South Australia, tasmania and queensland for their sponsoeship too. |
shoopsy:Have you tried looking for state sponsorship? |
shoopsy:The answer is YES. They need to know what you were doing between that period. If you have supporting documents to that, it will help boost your chances. In the meanwhile, why don't you apply for PR as suggested by bellong? Education is not cheap in Aus. If you have a purpose for wanting to study for masters, go for it otherwise you may want to consider PR first and study later as it will be cheaper that way. Again australia need engineers and i have a hand full of friends who migrated here via that root. |
