Most revolutions started as protest, and Sowore made it clear that his was #RevolutionNow.
If you like him so much, go out then and protest for his release ka DSS gba gi ka okwa!

Learn and stop arguing unintelligently! Oh...so you're so intelligent, which is why you support that planned unarmed protests should be outlawed under a democracy Keep that sort of intelligence to yourself, pls. SoNature: Please let's call a spade a spade, Sowore tried to ignite a revolution, so Transparency International is so wrong on this one.
If I was Nigerian president, I would definitely treat Sowore the way he's been treated today. You cannot lose an election and try to set my country ablaze under my watch.
It's easy to start a fight, but nobody actually knows when it will end....that's a Yoruba adage.
Sowore should have asked questions before trying to spark a #NigerianSpring. You can only kick off a revolution in a United country not a deeply polarized country like Nigeria. As young people, Sowore's experience must be a lesson to all of us.
However, I firmly believe that the chap can still be granted freedom and tried without having him locked up in DSS cell. Sowore attacked all the political leaders who would have sued for his release through Sahara Reporters. Again, his ordeals offer a learning curve for all. It is a democracy. Protests and dissents are a basic part and parcel of democracy. You don't mix it with elements of dictatorship. See the lame excuses you are making for this government, all because Sowore isn't your brother. Pathetic. Put yourself in his shoes. I may not support his politics, but I recognize when a government has become illegitimate. A legit government won't oppress its subjects like Buhari is doing. All you willing tools and lower class humans from the south...you guys are so pathetic, I begin to wonder why I'm from among you. It was right to protest under GEJ, but an abomination to do it with Buhari's government, right? |

festacman: Disobeying court ruling is, no doubt, out of order in a democracy but no legitimate government would tolerate any kind of attempt to uproot it suddenly through Revolution. Every government is wary of Revolution because once it starts, nobody can predict its end result. Even a 'President' Yele Sowore if he had won the last presidential election would not have dealt TAMELY with anybody challenging the existence of his government. Some people who encountered him as a leader of Sahara Reporters Media Organization will attest to his strong character.
The reality is that Revolution is intrinsically undemocratic. It is basically a MOB ACTION against a legitimate government. It recognizes neither the Judiciary nor the Legislature in its bid to forcibly remove the Executive. It dangerously puts MOBOCRACY or ochlocracy above democracy. This is why in developed countries protest marches, sit-ins, and other forms of civil disobedience are more fashionable.
Experience has shown that any person or group of persons who are attempting to remove an established order or a government must first understand the psychology, clout and antecedents of people behind it vis-a-vis how much personal sacrifices to make or discomforts to take if the adventure goes awry. This will help in preparing for the worst while hoping for the best. I had expected Yele Sowore to have done this being an intelligent and analytical fellow.
Regardless, I join other Nigerians in advocating for his release on bail as ruled by court. A retardëd analysis pulled out from your disease infested anus. Since when did revolution become undemocratic? It wasn't undemocratic when in 2014, prominent Nigerians converged at Ojota to protest the inactions and failings of GEJ's government. Now, under a dictator, it has become undemocratic. Huh. The government outrightly ignored a court order (not once, not twice) and you're making excuses on its behalf. How do you excuse one and condemn the other. You actually condemned the one which is right, and whose right was trampled upon. All you ignorant supporters of this directionless government, time shall come when you will wish mother Earth to hide you from the impeding wrath of a bloodthirsty, brutish government |

AdeeT:

I've betrayed her trust, I have really hurt her, I wish that I could undo all I've done. But it's too late, and I'm reek of guilt, it's all over me.
I just cheated on a beautiful lady that has stayed with me through thick and thin for years, a wonderful soul that anyone would dream to have. Cheating might be a common thing, but the moment you cheat on a pure soul, an innocent woman that gives you all, WITH HER BEST FRIEND, then it's beyond cheating.
I am charming, good looking working class guy, guys and girls easily comment how good looking I am, my fiancee is so proud of me, and my achievements that she easily shows me off at the slightest opportunity. She attended the same Uni with her friend, and ever since then, they've been a very good friend. They even served at the same place(worked out), to show you how close they her.
Now my fiancee works in the southern Nigeria, we planned to seal things up next year, and live together here in Abuja. Her friend came for a job interview here, and my woman advised that she rather stay with me for the period instead of her spending a lot on hotel accommodations since I live alone in a bedroom flat. I obliged, and she came down here, little did I know that things would get messy. Long story cut short, I fell in to her seduction the second night of her staying after some series of events. We ended up having sex couples of time before she left. I feel terrible now, though she felt nothing, I can't even flow well with my woman on phone again, guilt is all over me. I don't know how I will stand her whenever we meet. Of all girls in the world, she's the least anyone would want to cheat on.
I'm thinking of telling her. Mind you guys, I'm not a weakling, I've never been one. Before I met her some 3 years back, I was on the other end of life. She changed a lot for good for me, and helped stop many bad things, as well as starting several good ones. I don't know what her reaction would be after telling her. Her friend still communicates with her as if nothing happened.
I'm in pain guys. A serious one. I need advices. Sigh. Nobody, I repeat, nobody gives a shyte about a kid who can't handle the aftermath of his libido. If you ain't mentally old enough to handle your business, shove your deek firmly in your pants and quit grovelling online over a non issue. You can't unfvck someone you just fvcked. Area4Area: Nigeria is a democratic republic and these laws are in operation for now, what makes you think that Biafrans that are now foreigners and aliens would be exempted? According to Nigeria's alien land act, only corporate companies can buy land and own properties, no private foreigner can, so private Igbo land and property owners would lose all. MTN, Shell etc are free to have properties in Nigeria because these are foreign corporate companies but no foreign individual can, not even the owner of the company.
Botswana, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Austria etc doing better than Nigeria today have agreements with their neighbours with sea access, what agreement does Biafra have in that regard with Nigeria, none.
Biafran students in Nigerian higher institutions would be made to go get their papers and student's Visa's and must pay twice or thrice what Nigerians pay.
Nigeria could decide to redesign her currency after some months and your naira would no longer be acceptable in Nigeria. Some say you'd print Biafran pounds and it would be at par with the British pound and I laugh, what gold or foreign reserve do you have to back up the value? It would tumble like the Zimbabwean dollar, from 1 Biafran pound to a British pound and in a month's time, 1 million Biafran pounds to a British pound. It's no rocket science.
Remember you are surrounded by Nigeria.
So Biafra needs Nigeria for actualization because we don't have any referendum nor secession clause in the constitution and needs Nigeria for the sustainance of Biafra's independence.
As I said earlier, you nor other Igbos don't feel the feel the effect of the laws, become a foreigner and you'd understand. Very funny All these analysis of yours, based on the assumption that once the SE secedes and becomes a sovereign nation, other regions such as SW, SS and the middle belt will remain in this entity called Nigeria? You make me laugh. See, once the SE leaves, other regions will fall over themselves to beat the record of what region is second to leave. You actually believe Yorubas will remain in a Nigeria that Igbos are not a part of? You believe the SS will stay within same Nigeria? Hehehehe. Pure hallucination. The middlebelt detests the north as much as other regions do. In fact, most part of the middlebelt will vote to join the south, when push comes to shove. Next, watch as Hausas and other ethnic group in the north would tell Fulanis to look for their own land to keep their cows. The only reason Nigeria is still here is because one major ethnic group hasn't left. Once that happens, no other ethnic group would want to have anything to do with an entity called Nigeria. To believe that Nigeria could exist post Biafra is the imagination of a diseased mind |

Why should Benin republic import everything from their port and make money on our behalf. How can a small country import more bags of rice than their population.
Even though I don't like Buhari, but this border closure has exposed so many people like people who import Palm oil, vegetable oil, Rice, stock fish, cloths, salt, tomato paste, and frozen chicken.
It's game over for Benin republic, cos they've been cheating us for decades now.
It's also game over for Ghanaians who comes to Nigeria to buy products that are subsidized with our Dollar, and they still have the audacity to be locking Nigerian shops for years.
I even thought that Ghanaians travels to Asia and Europe to buy products, I didn't know they're squeezing products out of Nigeria. I was watching their TV news as Ghanaian traders were interviewed on how it's affecting their business.
One extension hair seller said she's in trouble cos she has ran out of stock and customers are complaining cos Xmas is around the corner.
The other one said he went to Ladipo to buy motor spare parts but he couldn't carry the goods out of Nigeria. So they depends on Nigerian goods but they're the ones who hate Nigeria the most in West Africa. That border will remain closed till 2050. Period See the bolded? No, Benin Republic didn't cheat Nigeria Nigeria cheated itself. In it's bid to subjugate the SE and SS, the country decided to make Lagos port the only functional one, rather than expanding the capacity of other ports in the south. Ok, so far, so good. But common sense should let the same govt realize that it needs to upgrade Lagos port to cope with the huge demands of a country with population of over 180m. The govt didn't. Check out the Oshodi-Apapa "expressway" that feeds the port. Importers and exporters alike accrue demurrage through no fault of theirs. The roads are deathtraps. Once people realized that they can do business faster and cheaper through Benin republic port, they switched over to it. Remember, nature does not tolerate a vacuum. Nigeria govt fvcked up, and Benin govt stepped up. After closing the borders without developing it's own ports, the country will get worse than it already is. It is simple logic. |

Huh. Your neighbors have done 3/4 of the job, leaving you with just 1/4. Some people have all the luck. Yet you're agonizing over costs here I know money could be an issue, and we all don't have same resources. But if I were in your position, I wouldn't bother with estimates at this fortunate stage. Yes, fortunate because, most of the cost of fencing has been taken off from your shoulders by your neighbors who had fenced theirs. If all you can afford for now is say, 3 trips of sand and a couple dozen bags of cement, then do so. Mould the amount of blocks you can afford. Except you plan on buying blocks. Get a skilled mason and agree on how much the job will cost. Next, break the job into 3 stages of payment as you can afford. Since there is no hurry/deadline, do it at your pace and don't stress. I'm putting it this way because I perceive you stress over small details. Divide the job and payment into about 3 stages, something like: Stage 1: foundation digging, blinding and laying of blocks up to 4 or 5 courses. Stage 2: raising the fence up to the full height. Stage 3: making the pillar and mounting the gate. That way, you don't strain your resources and yourself. When you do it as pay-as-you-go in manageable installments, you won't feel the pinch....and your blood pressure will be fine |

spyder880: The text I posted below was sent to my WhatsApp number by those who know me as a land investor. They were marketing lands to me in Ugwuomu Nike, but they didn't know we have already taken position a few years back and awaiting the appreciation. It's good to have foresight.
"The Catholic diocese has bought acres of land at Ugwuomu Emene Nike where the Godfrey Okoye University Permanent site will be. As I am talking to you now, structures like faculty blocks, admin blocks, library, staff quarters have been built, roads leading to the school has been tarred and work is currently going on there immensely.
*My friend who's a Surveyor who surveyed a layout in that Ugwuomu, (which share the same boundary/fence with the Godfrey Okoye University permanent site) have some plots allocated to him in lieu of payment and he's selling some plots currently. I will advice someone who has money and wants to invest it, to quickly purchase some plots of Land there now that is very cheap, perfect the title and probably fence the plots and wait and see how the value of that land will appreciate rapidly.
Once the University starts, a plot there will be sold at #3m or more, and building of hostels there will be another better idea. Sooner or later, all the students from Godfrey Okoye University thinkers corner will be moving in to the permanent site... As soon as all the structures and road constructions in the permanent site are completed (which are on doing now) I wish to inform you that there are some plots there for sale, the owner (surveyor) just informed us two days ago. If you have money or know someone who wants to invest in land, let the person come and buy now before the cost increases The cost of one plot of land is #900,000
Lifting of one plot is #160,000 (which is a uniform price in all Enugu)
Traditional rites (ewu ani) is #50,000
Legal drafting of Irrevocable power of attorney and deed of lease for one plot is #60,000
"Ogba na echi agu" is #50,000
Agency fee is #90,000
*Total = #1,310,000*
*BUY THE LAND NOW AND THANK ME LATER*
*People are really rushing the lands now, it is a newly designed layout... "Blue Lake Layout"*"
Copied from my WhatsApp messages. Its a good development... However, private universities usually don't bring about rapid real estate development like public universities do. If you own a private university, it would be foolishness not to build adequate student hostels within the campus and make the rent a part of the tuition. Private universities make it a point to capitalize on this, because accommodation is one of the sources of their income. Would be foolhardy to let students live off campus for owners of private universities. If Godwin Okoye university at Ugwuomu Nike had been a public university, you can't get a plot around there for 3M by now. That notwithstanding, there's bound to be some appreciable level of development in that area from the tarred roads and increased activity. |
