Rosebud90:Because these local stations are mere yansh lickers. They shy away from asking questions they perceive might be sensitive to Emperor Bubu. They only ask soft questions which already has ready made and obvious answers, questions they hope won't provoke or ruffle anyone's feathers. Foreign medias have no reason to be fazed by that. |
I suspect that the recent case of Ese Oruru will bring to light a lot of such incidents that haven't received much media coverage. Such abduction of underage girls have been rampant and under reported. Just wondering why the parents of this particular girl haven't been making much noise since this incident 7 years ago. They were probably subdued by powerful Imams and prominent leaders who covertly support these abductions. See the virulent opposition Ese Oruru's mother received when she went to retrieve her daughter? 7 years is a lot of time. She would probably have about 3 kids by now, and should be able to recite the quran backwards. |
MrFairplay4ume:. Did you take a look at yourself in the mirror when you typed this? If you didn't, well, go and have a look. What you'll see is called hypocrisy. If you are looking for a hypocrite, check in your mirror. True, there should be no compulsion in religion...but don't tell us. Rather tell it to your Muslim brethren in the North. As if we need to look any more further to confirm such incidents of forced conversion and marriage to teen aged girls. Were you living under a rock when the news of over 200 school girls from Chibok were kidnapped, forcefully converted to Islam and married off? The recent case of Ese Oruru is probably another fictitious tale to you. Haven't you heard about Patience Paul? Even the sharia police has a hand in her case. See it here: https://www.nairaland.com/2972084/patience-paul-abducted-benue-girl The worst problem mankind can have is to never realize that he has a problem. |
Hogwash! They only made this declaration because this particular case generated much publicity and negative reaction from the public. I can tell you that their leaders do condone such things. This is just a face saving statement. How could the youths mobilize in their numbers to antagonize a mother trying to rescue her teen-aged daughter, if this was a private affair strictly between the Yinusa fellow and Ese Oruru, and they are not getting any covert support from their Imams and Emirs? One needs to know the thought process of Hausa and Fulani Muslims to begin to understand this situation. if the position were reversed, and a guy from the South goes up North to befriend a teen girl, and persuade her to come down to his village and become his bride, will the same response be observed? Of course not! It's even the immediate kinsmen of the man who will protest and object to it, until the man returns the girl to her people. Let them keep encouraging the Almajiri system. Their ignorance is bound to consume them. Someone abducts a teen girl and marries her without her parental consent, and their youths, their future leaders, their most enlightened population, the lifeblood of their society rose in support of it! Tufiakwa!! This is one pointer that most of the kidnapped Chibok girls may never be recovered. |
Pavore9:Only a mischievous fellow will back any plans to create grazing reserves down south. The north has got the largest land mass in Nigeria, yet they can't put it to good use. The cumulative effect of years of shunning education and steadfastly clinging to obsolete cattle rearing methods. The only region whose change is along negative directions, and hell bent on dragging the entire country in it's journey to self destruction. Cattle rearing is big business for these nomads, yet they want the major factor (land and it's vegetation) for free. Do they share the beef and milk freely to the host communities? |
though there's no evidence to suggest this was written by a graduate, we all know that the standard of education has deteriorated to alarming levels. A half baked job seeker should at least know not to tender such a letter with cancelled errors looking that. Looks horrible. |
Nice. I just sprained my neck trying to view the sideways up and upside down pictures. Can the motorcycle engine efficiently power this automobile, considering it's weight? I doubt that. |
spyder880:Thank you for encouraging a brother. God bless! |
JohnNgene May fortune smile on you! May you never toil beyond what plans God has in store for you! I have been very inspired and highly entertained by your narrative. In fact, your style of presentation of this venture of yours is so refreshing. Keep it up, bro! You are destined for greater things. Never lose focus. I believe your breakthrough is around the corner. Keep climbing! |
The scenario you see on Sundays. Banks will keep taking customers for granted because we have weak government regulations and policies. The people who this boycott will benefit are mostly the stressed up bank workers. This gives them the opportunity to catch their breath. |
The guy don F up! He couldn't control his pretense and faked sexuality anymore. Lots of guys are trying to use this gay thing to secure residency and asylum overseas. Soon, the governments of those countries will require them to "prove their gayness" which could involve being befriended and getting drilled in their ass by known gays for several months. ![]() I'm sure many of them claiming to be gay will get cured suddenly and request for deportation! |
donigspain:You know what? His hands are tied. With the sort of armed forces structure being run in Nigeria, state governors cannot give direct orders to the police or military force. The orders have to come from the Federal Govt. The governor can only make requests to the Presidency for military assistance. This was one of the reasons some governors (especially Lagos state) were clamoring for state controlled police few years ago. the scourge of Fulani herdsmen has gone beyond any rational being. That in a modern day Federation, a group of illegally armed herders will openly terrorize, kill and displace hundreds of thousands of people, and the government absolutely refused to take rigid steps to put a stop to it is incomprehensible. These killings have been going on for decades without letting up. Yet, we are still here. We are still wallowing in a union that has nothing to show for it after more than 50 years! One Nigeria indeed. |
irukandji89:What is this potting bag please? I may have an idea of what you were referring to, but I don't want to make assumptions. |
![]() Seriously? You typed all this epistle while you are in bed with her? According to your fairy tale, you were too drunk to walk, much less to drive, but you suddenly got sober enough to type this fiction? It's Sunday! Pray for forgiveness, and take this script to one of them Ghanaian movie producers. |
I hope Boko Haram is on it's last legs now... I see few RPGs, some IEDs and, more significant, a few old and rusty rifles like the ones local hunters use. No more shiny AK47s .Seem like their financiers have gotten fed up with doling out money, since the terrorists couldn't kidnap and provide anymore under-aged girl victims for their amusement. |
irukandji89: |
irukandji89:That's nice, bro! I've been thinking about going there myself, but have no clue so far. Can you please share how to get there, what arrangements you made etc. I just read up on this post of yours. It is very exciting, I must confess. |
Just keep the street price of these drugs high enough to be out of the reach of most vulnerable people. The crime rate is high enough as it is. A drug epidemic breaking out won't be funny at all, as this will make walking down the streets a nightmare for everyone. This country hasn't got what it takes to combat the fallout. |
This is bizarre! Didn't have any idea of the level of destruction by the army in those communities. The town looked like a hurricane swept through it. Nigerian Army doesn't show discipline or restraint whenever they confront unarmed civilians. |
Someone mentioned the story to me few days ago. Also referred to LIB carrying the story. That donations were being solicited for. At first, I was skeptical. Then I said, if Linda Ikeji actually reported the story, and the desperate man needed just a couple of millions for the life saving surgery, what stops Linda from cutting a cheque made to that amount to save the guy's life? Didn't hear anymore about that story, until seeing it here on NL...and with the confirmation that it was indeed reported by Linda Ikeji. Guess purchasing Hermes bags (fake or real) had more value to her than a human life. Hope the governor's intervention will save this man's life. Cancer cases seem to be on the rise nowadays. |
INFOTECH2:Chill. I'm sure the nurses will call for your attention when it's needed. Let nature take it's course. So long as it's a normal delivery, you will only be needed AFTER the birth of the baby. Just keep lots of cash handy. |
The reason why I loathe this country so much! The nitwit said insurgency has been "reduced drastically", so it's now safe to post corpers to those states. Someone should let him know that you don't need dozens of Boko guys to commit mass slaughter. Just a single guy sneaking into any NYSC lodge at night with an AK47 is enough to put helpless parents and the nation into deep agony. Many of these corp members might end up in remote parts of the states where military presence isn't much, and their NYSC uniform will provide a very attractive target. I hope parents and intending Youth Corps members protest against this. Insurgency is far from over. Since these demons can no longer go toe to toe with the military, they have resorted to taking on soft targets. NYSC members are the sweetest soft targets you can present them with. |
Pineapple head? ![]() |
Nalikedis:Spot on! Cases of rape and assault committed by immigrants of Middle Eastern origin has increased across Europe. That isn't what is strange. The worrisome thing is that the authorities often try to sweep it under the carpet. What's more, Caucasian natives of Europe are gradually, but steadily becoming minorities as migrant Arabs constantly pour in from across Syria, Turkey, Iraq and other countries in the region. Europe is in for a huge rape in the ass. It's just begun. |
Even the poor dead aren't allowed to rest in peace. Suffer in life, suffer in death. That is, if the dead could still experience suffering. |
What sort of reporting is this anyway? A national daily such as Vanguard reporting like one of them soft sell gossip magazines. They got details of the transactions and figures of the amount involved, yet they couldn't mention who the culprit is. Perhaps they are not certain of their source, even though the report mentioned "a top source" who disclosed the info to them. This is just rubbish! |
spyder880:The farthest among these places you mentioned, from the beginning of Enugu-PH express way southwards, is Isu-Awaa...and it is a mere 25km along the express way. Not far at all. Like you observed, the most important factor here will be closeness of the location to the expressway. It will be very cool to have an estate in any of these areas. I think Ozalla will make a lot of sense, especially somewhere near 4 corner junction. Really nice location. But I don't see any reason why lands around there should be up to N2.5m per plot. I'm sure there are bound to be much cheaper lands a little more southwards, around Ituku, close to UNNTH |
spyder880:Perhaps you should check out this post. It's about a location at Awka somebody posted this morning. A place called Urum in Mgbakwu, less than 10 mins drive from Enugu-Onitsha express road (Google maps showed the distance to be less than 10km) It's 140 plots already surveyed, and the owners want a single buyer for it all. See the link below. https://www.nairaland.com/2395107/all-available-lands-sale-anambra/3 |
....So hopefully, before my rent expires here in Abuja, the road to my Lagos home will be fixed.” ![]() See hope. The Porsche is more important than your home, right? I'm sure if Ambode were to read this, he will ensure that the particular street doesn't get fixed till further notice. When you are ready to come back home, you can trade in your Porsche for a SUV. Hope business will be better for you at Abuja. |
HKfrJohn:Remember a certain Yoruba proverb, which when translated says: A dog that is about to go missing/die will never hear it's master's (or hunter's) whistle. Where public executions of drug smugglers in certain countries have failed to deter some people, I doubt a letter from a prisoner could do the job. There are folks who get deceived into becoming drug mules, but majority who went into it already knew the score beforehand. I just recalled, few weeks ago, the case of a woman who got caught at MM international airport, trying to smuggle drugs to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia of all places....and a woman too!! |
And that made him the official spokesperson for Nigerian youths, right? He better speak for himself. What exactly has Saraki done that would endear him to the youths? |
Dude took a terrible gamble, and lost. For someone who is deaf, he has no business walking along a rail track, knowing he can't hear the train coming. Same thing that happens when a perfectly normal guy decides to plug his ears with earphones, his music on full blast, while taking a walk in the crazy Lagos traffic. He did himself in. Such a pitiful, avoidable death. The train driver would have blown his horn repeatedly, without effect. |
