Seun:Huh. Sorry bro. You are wrong on both counts. I have long realized that within the SW, SE and SS regions, agricultural lands are cheapest in the SW. What's more, tomatoes can be farmed in commercial quantities in this region. If we get down to it, and mean business, bringing tomatoes from the north won't be a viable business anymore. |
This country sef... *sighs* Everything seem to be going up in flames. Send a fuel laden tanker to drive from point A to B along a very smooth road as depicted in the pictures, and it will just go up in flames. Abeg, who we offend sef? The almost impossible/unimaginable keeps happening here! |
junketer:Actually, there's no future. The politicians keep paying lip service to be the country being on the road to recovery and development. They are just hoping the system will hold out a little bit more longer, because it's their cash cow. |
Actually, it's finished burning. Nothing else is left of the house. *Sighs* This is someone's investment o. Most houses in naija are not even insured. |
Believe that sh#t, and you would believe anything. If only even half of that amount is spent daily to feed each inmate, millions of people would intentionally commit crimes, just so they will get imprisoned and have proper meals for a change. |
Just like that? Seriously??!! We are certainly regressing to the cave man's days in naija. That students in a tertiary institution can turn into animals and take another student's life for stealing is beyond scary! |
YourMrBoo:Exactly. The pathetic old geezer with his empty words. Perhaps the youths he was addressing needed a history lesson specially prepared by him. If he and his contemporaries are proud of the part they played in that dark part of this country's history, why would they expunge history lessons from schools? |
If I were in that audience, I would ask him what history exactly he was referring to. Was it the same history they have tried to shield young scholars from learning in school by removing it from the curriculum, or something different? No nation worth its salt hides its past from its people. These tired old folks just need to exit the scene. Their best efforts got us nowhere. |
They have elevated their game to writing a warning letter first? ![]() I don't think that's their M.O. |
I really hope the story is true. There's no credibility to this report as it is. |
Badgers14:Thank you for this piece, bro! If it were not out of pure frustration, the SE really shouldn't be clamoring for Biafra, because the political leaders in that region are a bunch of pussies. They consistently get to be in the number 3 position in the country's hierarchy with no revolutionary contributions. Collectively, we are cursed with the lack of men with vision and leadership qualities. |
. DaBullIT:Do you actually believe these words you typed? Every reasonable being has long realized that the constitution is no longer worth the paper it was written on, no thanks to the president who has disregarded court rulings to suit himself. It remains to be seen who are the people behind the Niger Delta Avengers. But it seem the only way to make the government take you serious is to cause major damage, be it on life or property. Such a pity it has come to this. In democracy, power belongs to the people. But the sort of democracy in black countries is such that political leaders wield extreme powers that are difficult to put in check. I can count at least three impeachable offenses Bubu has committed within his short stay in office. As it is, the house of assembly and the judiciary all collectively turn to kittens wherever the presidency is involved. Nothing works in this country anymore. Nothing is going to work, except there is a total overhaul. The group asking for implementation of the 2014 National Conference report is quite commendable. Its about the only demand of theirs I wholeheartedly agree with. |

erico2k2:Thanks. My blood pressure just went down a notch ![]() |
Here's a wet dream I have been experiencing lately.... ![]() Imagine that the country has been clearly delineated into the original six Geo-political zones, with each zone contributing the best of what it has been known for, prior to independence. SW: region was the powerhouse for export produce such as rubber and cocoa. Just this region rivaled Ghana and Ivory Coast in cocoa production! Don't forget the gold and limestone deposits! SE : region noted for palm oil and commerce. Folks from this enterprising region knows no limit when it comes to trading. Integration was never their problem. Add that to the coal deposits. NC : held sway with food crops such as yams, tomatoes, onions, beans, groundnuts...you name them. Add that to iron, tin and other minerals! NW: was noted for quality hides and skins (leather) and cattle NE : Noted for cattle, hides and skins SS : Fishery, rubber, oil palm produce. We got oil, we got independence, and we all lost our senses! The Black Man mentality got us in a choke hold. For how long are we going to practice a system of government that hasn't lifted us out of this quagmire of over 50 years? Don't people get wiser anymore? Regionalism is the way to go. Well, since the bulk of our political leaders have suddenly gone deaf and dumb over the issue of the rampaging herdsmen, we are not to eat any other food except beef. Fried meat for breakfast, barbecued beef for lunch, and go to bed chewing a strip of kilishi. I am totally fed up with a country that doesn't know a true and immediate danger when it's around the corner. If any other people except the Fulanis were wrecking this havoc across the country, the northern oligarchs would have fully armed every almajiri to lay to waste the rest of us. Somebody should tell Bubu that ranching doesn't require a genius. Even stark illiterates can score A+ when it comes to this very simple concept of animal husbandry. |
erico2k2:Brother, I'm curious to know what campus it is? Can u kindly share, pls? |
A simple pointer to the fact that our government is worthless. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that ranching is the way out of this mess. Clashes between herdsmen and rural farmers have been going on for decades, yet government couldn't come up with this simple solution. Get these herdsmen to buy or rent farmlands to erect ranches. Teach them to make fodders for their cattle. How difficult can this be, please? Haven't we had enough deaths from these clashes? |
I know that feeling. Pretty sure if you could do so right now, you would walk into that hall and gun down their silly employees who are putting you through this stress. Remember the IMF ratings which shows Naija is one of the worst places to do business? Things like this will give you a clue on how they arrived at that verdict. Computers and the internet has made business and transactions easier across the world. In Naija, it simply made certain things more complicated. Largely because of the in-actions of organizations like this who couldn't be bothered, so long as they are not at the receiving end. |
The reason for such impunity is that we have such a weak ass, almost nonexistent judiciary. If these policemen know they could be sued for damages, and the sentence will get enforced in a matter of days, they wouldn't be such assholes. Imagine asking the woman to pay them for meting such undignified treatment to her. Pay for what, exactly? |
TheNonce:Now that you have commented, kindly go back to read the post, and perhaps, modify what you typed. That he was arrested in Kogi state doesn't make him Igala. These Fulani guys are nomads. They are from everywhere and nowhere. the guy in question admitted he was born and raised in Enugu, but that doesn't make him Igbo. He doesn't see himself as such. If Nigeria was a real country, he should be regarded as "nwanne" by now. But we all know that such concept is almost impossible because there is no real unity, no genuine foundation to this absurd marriage of strange bedfellows called Nigeria. For those who kept saying that the attackers are not Fulani, the 19 northern governors and their laptop soldiers on NL, the rest of us have been vindicated. We don't need any oracle to tell us what we already know. Even if all herdsmen are not Fulani, most of them are. And it's usually the Fulanis who fulfills their sexual fantasies by butchering helpless rural folks. They have been doing so for centuries, and no amount of image laundering can wipe that away from our collective consciousness. Accept them in your midst at your own peril. |
MANGAM:Brother! That's exactly what should give you an edge! Look, this means u would have less people competing with u during off seasons. Their being conservative and unwilling to try out new ideas is a bonus to anyone around there who dares. Remember the saying that in the country of the blind, the one eyed man is king? You should capitalize on the weakness and shortcomings in your area. Be the pioneer. What you should do once u have a greenhouse is, concentrate on planting during offseason, such that your harvest will have more value. You harvest when the commodities have become scarce and expensive in the markets Not just tomatoes, but watermelon, cucumber, green peppers etc. I want you to begin laughing at yourself after you read this. You have a ready made environment to prepare you for success! |
@ MANGAM: Sorry about your loss. I read about how this pest has wrecked havoc to approximately 40% of tomato yields expected mostly from the northern region. Funny enough, I was going through videos on Youtube on how to construct cheap greenhouse using available and locally sourced materials. I focused on the ones built by rural farmers in Kenya. Now, I'm saying to myself: A Nigerian farmer who had adopted this approach before this calamity struck would be making crazy money right now! ![]() It's all a challenge, and one should see the opportunity in such calamities. This pest attack is bound to repeat in a few more planting seasons from now. With a greenhouse supplied with drip irrigation, you can plant anytime, and pests are mostly eliminated. Here are some of the relevant video clips. Wish you well, bro. Innovation is the way to go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy72pRX6hJw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obsLwew-NT0 |
Confronted with the allegation that he left Emami because the latter did not honour his request for money, Majek said, “It is not like that. I am an American-trained musician. When I was in America, I studied music and music business. So I am not in the same level as the average Nigerian musician. I am an international musician. Emami wanted to place me on the same level as Nigerian musicians and to control my music business. So I decided to move" Imagine. Your training and exposure in the music business in America couldn't save and help you live responsibly, until a "local made" dude came to rescue your sorry ass. If it were not for Ayiri, you should be dead and forgotten by now. well, all the best. You're a grown man. Let's see what record label is willing to gamble on you. |
SleekAboki:That's the same reason why Nigeria still exists today. People who were otherwise reasonable, once they get elected or appointed, gets stifled by the spoils of office, namely, the loose and largely unaccounted for money accruing from crude oil sales. There's nothing like easy and free money to shut a man up. Every single politician in this country know that we cannot survive as country if we keep going this way. But since they are the biggest beneficiary of the flawed system we operate, you do not really expect them to speak against it, do you? So, they are all hang on to the ride and milk the nation dry, while hoping that this contraption of a country will last a little bit more longer for them to feed fat on it. Once their tenure ends, or they lose an election, there are hundreds of eager replacements waiting to take their place and "chop" their turn. As for Tinubu, if APC had lost the last presidential election, his noise level would have became so scary by now. As it is, you hardly hear him make the tiniest squeak nowadays. He's enjoying his "investment". As far as he's concerned, regionalism and state police was a slip of tongue he made one morning after consuming a disproportionate dose of paraga ![]() |
SleekAboki:Your analysis is 100% accurate. This is one of the reasons the outcome of the National Conference needs to be implemented. Next is regionalism, where the country is divided into the former geopolitical zones, and power is decentralized. It should be a gradual process, where impending conflicts such as this gets ironed out as they arise. As it is now, once conflict breaks out anywhere in the country, the governor of such state cannot order the police force to take control of the situation. He has to get the president to do this instead. The president being far away, and occupied with other contingencies, will not appreciate the gravity of the problem until several lives have been lost, and there's a media outcry. It should be apparent to everyone that the system of government we operate in this country is not working. We have experimented with it for over 50 years, and we still think it will suddenly begin to yield great results? We have lived in denial for far too long. |
hensben:You just needed to say something. Well, you need to be informed that blocks (be it 6 or 9 inches) DO NOT BEAR LOADS in buildings. The strength of the foundation and the specification of the columns (pillars) are what largely determines how safe a building is. Blocks play no role in that aspect. They just form the walls and partitions. |
You are probably discerning and not so desperate, which is why you took your time to find out what shenanigan the crook was up to. These scams are pitiful, but the people who fall for them are worse. Any sort of job offer that asks you to make payment first is probably a scam, especially if such money has no official backing, and isn't made public. The logical question a half reasonable person should ask himself is, why am I the one person this "good Samaritan" suddenly remembered to do a favor, when he could have easily accorded it to his friends, neighbors or relatives? Miracles do happen, but when most folks do nothing but swallow prophetic bullsh!t of "pastors" who ask them to sow seeds and expect miracle jobs, then we make ourselves vulnerable to such scams. |
You gotta have the upper body to pull off this dress style. Me likey. It's a traditional attire. If he wore it to the house of reps because he needs to officially inform them about the Oba's death, there's nothing wrong with that. |
iflywithbuhari:I don't get you. From your moniker, it seemed you are one of Bubu's trumpeter. When did that relationship go south? ![]() |
Why do you keep typing "too" instead of "to"? Not sure what to commiserate with you over. Your stolen and damaged phone, or your fearsome grammar ![]() At least you have finally learned that Junior is not your friend. Junior....omo ale jati jati. |
SweetBoyFriend:Hold your high horses. The record was for a non music video |
@OP: You are simply incredible! Seeing president Bubu tucked in the corner of those photos made me lose control ![]() |
