India, China, USA are more populous than Nigeria but still experiencing economic growth relative to Nigeria.
That's because they've maximized their available resources to take care of their population which is growing moderately not exponentially
PoliticsRe: Poverty, Insecurity, Explosive Demographic Growth In Nigeria Worrisome – UN by winterfell007(m): 3:17pm On Aug 27, 2019
I keep saying this. This country is too populated to ensure economic prosperity, that's the reason we experience multi-dimensional poverty of epic proportions.
Europe, Antarctica and other continents are seeing reductions in their population which are fuelling growth and prosperity in a sustainable environment while Africa as a continent is the singular highest contributor to the world's population. That's the major cause for migration to other less populated continents simply because we are too populated for the limited resources to go round.

You are the biggest fool I've come across. You are such a fool for bringing to disrepute the Igbo ethnic group. Just take a good look at your comment and tell me why other ethnic groups won't see us a bad light. It's also the reason why our brothers are languishing away in South Africa and other Asian countries.

OK first off, for those of us that managed to read through that long writeup, well done.
If I understood correctly, shouldn't this guy be ashamed of himself? So instead of making a speech to break godfatherism that has kept this great Nation in the mud it is, he is making a speech to encourage it? Isn't this clear evidence that our votes don't count?... So if Ambode had known he would have gone back to beg tinubu telling him that he would give him anything he wants once he's given a second tenure? Such a useless fool he is... So the approval of just one damn old man should now be prioritized over thousands of Lagosians seeking better governance?... Such a senseless being...
That's why I can "never" waste my time to go vote anyone... Not with this nonsense happening.

How could anyone with an iota of sense say this;
So, what Abode should have done was to have gone to his principal to say, oga, anything you do, we are going into this second term together, give me my second term and I will give you everything you want’... The bolded is so annoying... Such a fool...
Lagosians should be the ones to make that call not some old greedy man and his gang!
That's why this country is such a 'shithole' abnormal things are so normal while the normal things become abnormal

PoliticsRe: Anambra’ll Soon Overtake Lagos As Top Investment Destination, Obiano Boasts by winterfell007(m): 9:06am On Aug 22, 2019
candidtalk:
Folks, done messing around with TundeOlodoBricklayer, Obiano and Igbo folks anti-SW obduracy in general. Let us do real statistics. Below is the top investment destination in Nigeria in the first half of 2018. Lagos takes 26%, equaling $11.9 billion, with Anambra and all other States attracting only $2.7 billion or 6% of the investment coming into Nigeria so we must ask what grade of crack Obiano and TundeBricklayer are on to even be comparing Anambra with Lagos?

Mind you even the 36% of Rivers and 26% of Bayelsa stems from the fact that mining and quarrying, not an endowment of Lagos as is the case with Rivers and Bayelsa, accounted for 61% of the total investment and manufacturing, 28%, transportation & storage 5%, real estate 3% and the remaining sectors accounting for 3%. A smart person will quickly deduce that Lagos is punching far above its weight and will outstrip others in future when investing in oil and gas begins to plummet as the world moves away from fossil fuel in favor of 'cleaner' energy. Interesting that Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta folks are not even bragging yet Anambra man is the biggest and emptiest chest-beater.

Going by the official figures below, even as I know Igbos don't do reality, can any sane person claim Anambra is even 200 years close to overcoming Lagos as an investment destination or is this just another dumb statement from those obsessed with comparing d.icks with the Yorubas/SW daily and 24/7?

https://www.pulse.ng/bi/finance/finance-these-are-the-top-investment-destination-in-nigeria-in-the-first-half-of-2018/lbd9t47

These are the top investment destination by states in the first half of 2018.:

1. Rivers $16 billion 36%

2. Bayelsa $12 billion 26%

3. Lagos $11.9 billion 26%

4. Delta $3.1 billion 7%

5. Other states $2.7 billion 6%
I won't lie. You are truly correct. I'm from Anambra too and I hate the way some of my people here in nairaland Bragg a lot. It's very distasteful. Our lack of humility is costing us a lot but we seem not to be aware of it

The kind of investments pouring into Anambra state is scary. If the momentum is maintained then I don't see why they won't give Lagos a run for their money. Healthy competition is good for our economy and I appreciate his humility.

horsepower101:
I have no doubt that it will happen sooner than later.

There so many private investments coming into the state that doesn’t even make the news.

The expansion of the service sector in the state according to NBS data is very impressive.

The only thing holding Anambra back is Gas supply to powerful industrialization but that will change soon once the nestoil gas pipeline is completed. It’s already 90% complete.
You are allowed to deceive yourself. Nothing special is happening in Anambra state. It's just like any other normal state.

Oga doesn't say what you don't know......

The difference between respect for an elderly man in Igbo land and a respect for an elderly man in Yoruba land is that

while Igbos respect an upright man and deal with a wicked man........

Yorubas respect both the wicked man and the upright man...

When you deal with a wicked man,....you are free from any curse
It's not in their place to tell if he was wicked or not. It is his constituents that put him there to make that call. We must condemn that act in its entirety.
I guess Buhari was right to have proscribed IPOB as a terrorist group. They are really turning out to be one.
PoliticsRe: Photo Of Ekweremadu As He Arrives Nigeria From Germany After IPOB Attack by winterfell007(m): 9:22pm On Aug 19, 2019
We Igbos should condemn this act done by IPOB. Honestly, it's an unwholesome attitude displayed by Ndigbo. We should be ashamed of ourselves to bring this elder stateman into disrepute.
I guess it has dawned on us why other enthic groups look at us condescendingly. We really deserve it

Because she has a butt, she can talk.

Buttpad is a form of enhancement and it makes the wearer feel sexy, even though it is not an actual butt

She wears wigs and heels a lot, has anybody told her she's insecure? What happened to feel secure in her natural hair and height? Or does she not know those are also forms of enhancements? Those who use waist trainers are also insecure in their bodies, same as users of push-up bras and all forms of enhancements

All these selective critics fail to apply logic when they are talking. Leave people to wear what they wish on their bodies

Ebonyi is another success story.

Just Imagine if Nigeria was a country based on meritocracy. Igbos will take over everything.

This is why Nigeria must remain tribalistic, nepotistic and maintain quota system so that the incompetent folks will even have a chance.

Nigeria is the result of incompetence domination of intelligence.
You've started this Igbo bragging stuff again.. Just congratulated them on that feat. Must you be so sentimental about it?

I am not a business guru but I think Salem did a wrong move with his former partner. The timing wasn't right for his exit. The best advice have been given on LinkedIn which is to partner with a fintech to be able to survive.
For those waiting for opay to crash due to the almost free rides, you might be in for a shocker. Those guys are here to ball and have good strategy to play with.
Max ng might eventually be the main competitor of opay due to their access to funding and also ability to quickly find a niche in the industry.
All these are just random thoughts anyway.shalom

You will never hear noise from an Hausa man or a Yoruba man online but if it were to be an Igbo man, you would hear:

Igbo race is the best in the world, we control everything in Nigeria from sport to technology. We are just unfortunate to be in this country we would have grown beyond this. Indeed Igbo man is blessed with numerous talents and no tribe can ever beat or achieve that in Nigeria. An igbo man can survive anywhere in the world because we are naturally ahead. Give us biafra and see how we will turn it to Dubai withing few years. Igbo amaka.

I am not hating on them but these their altitudes of cheast beating and bragging about being the best tribe without having anything to show off will probably make you naturally dislike them.
I'm igbo nonetheless, but I kind of agree with you. Our sense of pride atimes is uncalled for. We seem to display annoying comfort that sounds irritating but just learn to ignore them, it's still the ' hangover' physique of the civil war
