obailala:
I understand PPP plan for the bridge has been cancelled and the contract renegotiated. The FG now funds it fully; Fashola even made mention of this in his ministerial screening when taking questions just this Monday.
No. The project is actively funded and managed by the NSIA through the Excess Crude Account (ECA) which is apparently under their management.
, the Federal Ministry of Works is only a partner and supervisor since they partly funded the project by paying up their counterpart funding

Referring to someone grown enough to be your Uncle could not have been part of superior argument. Could it?
First of all, how am I to know you are old enough to be my uncle. Secondly, I don't know you. You are just like a nairaland user I come across, so what's the fuss of about being 'grown enough to be your Uncle'

so it was after 5yr Gej remember to make the arrangement......I don't no why all D's hate for......i av lot of igbo friends here in lag and dey aiin't D's bitter.....
Please if you just wanna spill another ignorant statement, I suggest you use the services of Google to enlighten you.
If you don't understand the workings around financing a project of that scale. This financing of the project actually started late in 2012 and concluded in early 2013.actual construction of the project began in earnest in 2014 after FG initially paid up their counterpart funding, that was why Gej went ahead to inaugurate the construction of the bridge. Like I imploring you, please use the services of Google. Google warehouse a database of those information

And for your info, I'm not a hater. I'm not driven by emotions and sentiment as seen on nairaland but by reason

The tolling was the original idea when the bridge was conceived in 2014. But the current government cancelled the tolling arrangement; the bridge is currently being built by FG alone, no more PPP.
There hasn't been any cancellation. PMB is just following up the process as planned by his predecessor. FG during GEJ's tenure had a already paid up their counterpart funding. The project is under the active management of the NSIA

But your Otueke GEJ with faster 5G speed and even PhD holder didn't start the bridge now . Or suddenly you have forgotten
Idiots even if GEJ was still there, the bridge construction will have continued regardless. The financing arrangement was already sorted by them. Okonjo Iweala, the current MD of Nigeria Sovereign Wealth Fund (NSIA), Mr. Uche Orji all perfected the financing arrangement with the FG already paying down their 30% counterpart funding and NSIA and JB will source the remaining through ECA and equities. PMB assumed into office and saw a worked out system in place and followed it up as expected of him
So stop blabbing about how PMB is doing us a favour, because it's not a favour, it's our bloody right. Even if he decides to hault the project, successive administrations will complete it. So Bleep off

Honestly off grid solution should have been adopted long time ago. Anyway better late than never.
I think this is part of the EEI that Fashola initiated. I suppose all universities and shopping complex should adopt this model with immediate effect

Our Nigerian Army are nothing short of a 'rag tag' bandits. How do you go about razing up buildings of civilian you ought to be protecting because of you suspected they could be responsible for the death of your fellow comrades. Sorry for your loss.
But this is absolutely unremarkable about the military. Nigeria has lost it completely

How's this suppose to be News. This Otedola needs to stop putting his private life in public space, he's acting like an ordinary celebrity who enjoys showing off.
I hardly see Dangote, Orjiako, Alakija engage in such trivial shits. I guess they're seriously engaged in growing their businesses

God bless His Excellence, President Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR)

Sincerely, Call him a snail and I would agree. But we Nigeria moved at this snail speed for the 16years of PDP rule, we definitely would not find ourselves where we stand today.

Slow and steady, we would get to that spot, where we outrightly belong.

Once again, God bless His Excellence, President Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR)
Congratulations!! You have been confirmed a grand fool of epic proportions. No fool that liveth can be likened unto you. Your foolishness is simply stunning

Making bold statements with no concrete plans is what our politicians are famous for. What we need right now is a 1 child policy like in China. Too many families having kids they cannot care for. Then we need constant electricity to attract foreign investors to build out factories and plants. The West hates China's newly found assertiveness but they are addicted to cheap Chinese labour and effective industries. We need to make a pitch to the West to move some of their production to Nigeria. We have a young and very affordable workforce that's hungry to acquire the necessary skills needed to do the job, but without constant electricity, and the 1 child policywe there might be 200 million more Nigerians living in poverty by 2029.
Especially that it's in fact the greatest challenge forestalling our progress too many people competing for fewer resources
PoliticsRe: Free Trade Must Be Fair Trade, Says Buhari by winterfell007(m): 7:12pm On Jul 07, 2019
Arkmanbuddy:
I just pray and hope Nigeria will not be a dump site for all goods from African countries. Fair trade is when we have a viable manufacturing sector with all the factors that enhance it in place.
There's nothing wrong with other African countries dumping their goods in our country so as long as it's made in that said African country and it is certified legal and healthy, we too we would dump our own goods in their own countries, Vice-versa.
That's the overall goal of the ACTFA. The only problem Nigeria had is the Europeans, Asian dumping their already finished goods on the continent without any attendant value addition

Ibrahimmrfish:
this is a very bad decision, there is nothing preventing France or any other European countries to build a factory in other countries and flood our market with their products. This is the final nail at our already soon to be dead manufacturing sector.
I don't see anything wrong with that. At least the factory is in an African country. Nigeria don't have any problems with goods being manufactured in other African nations coming into our borders, what we are cautious about is foreign goods from Europe, Asia flooding our markets
CrimeRe: Elizabeth Ndubuisi-Chukwu Strangulated To Death In South Africa - Autopsy Report by winterfell007(m): 4:29pm On Jul 07, 2019
Honestly the African Union should ban South Africa for notoriously being very hostile to visitors. How could someone gain access to a hotel, probably checked in and got into woman's hotel room and strangled her to death and they have no practical record of such visitor.

This bullshit smells of conspiracy and deliberate cover-up either by the hotel management or the government
