For a student coming to Nicosia in August this year for an 18 months masters program, how does that person attain permanent residence after his/her program?

To obtain PR, the person must have finished studies and legally employed for a certain period to qualify. So, you need to secure work permit first and after the prescribed period you get to apply for the white card!

I met some Pakistani days back that have never studied here but because they have working permits for years; they qualified for that and submitted their applications.

I actually meant the student, coming up with the research or project topic, in collaboration with his/her supervisor, and kinda outsource d entire work to someone else who gets paid for the work.

Not necessarily considering academic dishonesty, but purely outsourcing.

Ok, I get your point now. So let me explain how the outsourcing won't work for students that really want to get the knowledge and make use of it.

Currently, Am an Assistant Professor, and my work is based on chemical research (Nanomaterials, Env-biomedical and Pharmaceutical applications). I have gotten a funded research project for two-three years with Turkish Govt, and we have to give reports every six months on how we spend the money, the research progress and reports in the form of paper publications (articles or book, series), national and international conferences. From the project funds, I have to assign salary and pay tuition of my graduate students working under this project and if we succeed we would be able to apply for more projects, more academic progress (skills, exposure and experience) and the bank will keep growing FATS

Now, if i take in a student to work in this project and such student outsourced the work to another person;
...How will the person carry on the project? Since external persons are not allowed into my lab.
...How will the said students increase his/her research skills and be independent to stand on his/her own?
...If such person outsourced the work, how will he or she present at international conferences and write an acceptable manuscript for paper publications?
....Will such person be referred to as an expert or graduate when he or she obtained the certificate?

So outsourcing academic research is academic dishonesty, fraud and no reasonable supervisors will accept that. Since one of the requirements for graduation is researched thesis/project, then if outsourced such person is not qualified to graduate.

However, companies and some laboratories do outsource their projects to a cheaper, highly equipped or more experienced research groups. And this is ethical provided an agreement is reached, and the reason behind the project is defined. This is totally different from student's thesis/project.

Lastly, I don't think such is common in this region but it may be existing and possibly easy for non-science based programs!.

Applications for permanent residence permit and white cards have begun

The Interior and Labour Ministry has started to accept applications for permanent residence permits. With the new regulation, those who have a continuous 6 years work permit and business establishment permit will be able to apply for a permanent residence permit and will acquire the right to become a citizen after 15 years. People who have a permanent residence permit, will not require an annual work permit. White Card identity, which is given to the people who gain the right for a permanent residence permit can also be used for entries and exits to the country.

NB: The “white card” holders will have the right to receive an “unemployment insurance wage” for six months.
The fee for the “permanent residence permit” will be 2.000 Turkish liras (TL).

Do you mean their academic supervisors or what kind of help? I don't know anybody that helps graduate students other than their supervisors or more experienced person can also guide freely.......or what do you mean?

All graduate students are assigned supervisors/co-supervisor and if a student requires any assistant, those are in the best position to guide them. Each student must be fit to undertake any research/project assigned, conduct the research/investigate, obtain data, analyse, interpret and write formally.

If such students have difficulties with languages, can employ the service of language editor or language editor software's. Each University has its format for thesis, then such student should consult the graduate department to learn about the styles and formatting. In some cases, the students can meet older graduate students that have passed this stage for guidance after consultation with his/her supervisor.

In summary: all graduate students must perform the research themselves, interpret, analyse and write....Anything short of these, must not be tolerated and will be referred to as fraud and academic dishonesty.

Two options you have:

1. Write a mail to the registrar requesting for an official transcript and include details of where to be dispatched to. The registrar office will require 50TL for the transcript, and you will be responsible for the courier cost to the destination as well.

2. Request for an official transcript by emailing the registrar your details, in your letter, ask the transcript be released officially in the sealed envelope to a known person/entity. Then, the person will go with another letter that you must have signed and copy sent to the registrar. After he or she picks it, then the person can post it to the destination for you.

We are not helping anybody to ESCAPE oooo as you stated in your query. If you will like to study abroad in Cyprus. There are following points you need to be aware of and put into consideration:

1. You must be able to either sponsor yourself fully or you have guaranteed sponsor till the end of your studies

2. Jobs are scarce here so you cant depend on that.

3. For master program that last 1-2 years, you must have at least a budget of 10,000-15000USD which may include tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses for the entire duration of the program.

4. Most of the reputable universities here will only admit you if your CGPA is at least 2.5/4.0.

If you are ready, state it here and then read more on this forum and visit the university websites as well...

Thanks Wip7, I was admitted 4 a master program in International relations(with thesis) with 50% scholarship.

If you dont have any deficiency courses to take, your total fees will be approximately 5000-5100USD for whole program (inclusive of your scholarship). To be issued confirmation letter for visa purpose, you must deposit at least 4000USD out of the above amount into the university bank account. You can pay the rest before the end of your program.

You were admitted for undergraduate, master or PhD program? if I know I can give you estimated cost of the tuition fees. For accommodation, it ranges between 1800-3500USD yearly depending on location, facilities and type of accommodation.

Well done ma. I dont know anybody in Nigeria and am not associated with any agents. Anybody can claim to know anybody, also is poor people that takes bribe. He can advertise his services on Facebook but he cant advertise it on this thread. If he charges people 100k, I only blame those that handed over the money to him cos he did not collect the money by pointing gun towards his clients. They freely gave him the money for the services he claims to offer to them.

Yes, its expensive to study abroad due to exchange rate and many other factors but the experience and skills will really worth it. Yes the amount I mentioned in my earlier post is an estimate that may allow you to plan well before traveling abroad. The actual fees will be quoted on your acceptance letter and accommodation on the University fees. So its an estimate not exact total amount.

2 years ago when i was 16 i wanted to go study in india but after getting admission in university of delhi and after doing other things i feared going to india because i discovered that they rape alot and sometimes when they rape they kill,abuse and molest women alot,they have no regard for women and they see them as nothing they have no say,although i knew i wont be raped because i know the God i serve but i was scared for others because i hate that word rape and molestation against women,even a male family friend in india warned me not to come to india because rape cases are common there,that even if i still want to come that around 6 pm i should be preparing to leave the street then around 7pm should be in my hostel till the next day because is not safe for women,please mr wip and others please hope cyprus is safe for women?

Cyprus is quite, crime rate is quite low cos you cant escape in Island and free of rape as far as I know, the libido of the guys in Cyprus is very low. You can trek 24hrs within Cyprus. However, I think rape is possible if you are drunk and you sleep in a monster house or if you go and visit monster with uncontrollable libido. No known national reports on rape case since I have been living in Cyprus.

my female friend who is in india is asking me if she can do transfer from her school university of delhi to emu cyprus that shes scared and can no longer stay in india again that women are been treated like pieces of rag and they have no say,they are been molested and no justice for them that around 7:30pm sharp shes out of the city/street and by 8pm shes in the hostel,and she was almost raped one day because she entered the wrong taxi.shes tired of india so i suggested emu for her,please hope cyprus is safe for women?because am a lady too,thanks and how can she do transfer of school to emu,pharmacy?thanks

Your friend can transfer to EMU, ask her to get her current student transcript, olevel result, international passport and photo passport. Let her be aware of the tuition fees for her program and she can also read more on this thread about life in Cyprus. She does not need paid-agent to do the transfer after she is ready she can visit EMU website and if she has a single problem she can come here for help on guidance!
