deavicky:Are you from Kano? If not you have no business with kano emirship tussles. |
mvem:Why list three links when they are all gotten from the same source - Pointblanknews.com, an online publication started in 2016. Here are some absurdities in the report. • Sanusi, and eight others were arrested and locked up for the crime, on theWho are the 8 others? Don't they have names? Pointblanknews.com recalled that, Sanusi, an alleged Boko HaramSanusi is a Boko Haram sympathisers, but the same Boko haram vow to attack the same Sanusi - https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/173429-boko-haram-leader-shekau-releases-new-video-vows-attack-emir-sanusi-kano.html Islamic banking was introduced by Prof Charles Soludo. It was further learnt that after his release from prison, Sanusi wasSanusi started his banking career at Icon in 1985 - a subsidiary of Morgan Guaranty Trust and Barings Bank, so Mutallab did not push Sanusi into banking. As I said the story is so disjointed, it's a poor work of fiction. |
mvem:Where have you? How did you know this fact? I hope not from the Pointblanknews.com source you linked. Did you read the link at all? It looks like something Reno Omokri would have written sitting in a bar. |
mvem:I will not waste my time pointing out the absurdities in the report itself. I will only point out the absurdity of Pointblanknews.com, an online news media that is less than 5 years old, being the source of events that happen in 1995. |
mvem:Why are we going round in circles. I said provide any proof that Sanusi was initially a fundamentalist |
mvem:So going to Sudan for part of an education makes one a militant? Please talk like someone that has passed through an academic institution. Provide evidence or proof Sanusi took part in a religious riot or any riot in the past. Pictures, news reports, anything. |
AfroBeatDiary:Who do you expect to protest - IPOB youths? Northerners do not protest, except it has to do with Islam or presidential elections where their brother lost. |
redsun:So your only evidence of Sanusi being an a islamist fundamentalist and very dangerous is " I know he schooled in Sudan". Well done, Sherlock Holmes |
tiredoflife:No body accused GEJ of stealing $40billion or $20billlion NNPC money money. What was alleged was that the money was not accounted for. Okonjo-Iweala, NNPC, the senate and KPMG spent months trying to account for the money. |
eagleu:GEJ looked the other way when our treasury was being looted by Diezani, Stella Oduah, Dasuki, and lots of others. |
mvem:Have any evidence Lamido Sanusi took a militant stance in his youth? He attended kings college Lagos, and I know lots of people that attended kings college. I just can't reconcile someone that attended kings college secondary school those days with fundamentalist Islam. I have never heard any of his former school mates or even university mates refer to him as militant Muslim. He had a long career in the banking industry, non of his former colleagues or associates had ever referred to Lamido Sanusi as a fundamentalist. So where did you guys get your information than Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was ever a militant Muslim? Give me reference or proof. |
mvem:How do u you reconcile he was a Progressive person with Sanusi was even a hardcore islamist in his early days? How is it possible for someone to be a progressive and anot Islamic fundamentalist at the same time? How many northern elites have spoken against poverty, illiteracy and the Almajiri system in the north? Give examples. |
Blue3k:• And 2 years is missing from Sanusi's life as he was inside prison. Other "facts from IPOB are; • Nigeria is being ruled by a Buhari clone -Jubrin Al-Sudani • Awolowo drank rat poison because IBB wanted to kill him for planing a coup. • Buhari married Aisha at the age of 13, and she gave birth to her first daughter at the age of 14. |
Bizibi:But your heroine said it was $10.8 billion that was unaccounted for. Angry Ezekwesili challenges Okonjo-Iweala to account for ‘missing’ $10.8billion’ oil money |
deavicky:It's you that is smiling on behalf of Jonathan. President jonathan and his people have moved on ages ago. It's people from the east that are still crying a whole 6 years after losing an election. The most absurd thing is that it is still you people that are "chooking" your mouth into an issue that does not concern you. The political struggles of the Kano emirate council has nothing, and I mean nothing to do with the south east, but you people carry the matter more than kano state indigenes themselves. |
DeepSight:Old friend are you back? I thought you deactivated your account. Glad to have you back. Missed your oneness of infinity doctrine and your teachings on the astral in the religious section. Anyway the religious section is dead. I know we have opposing views on Sanusi. I also believe Sanusi is a bit loud mouthed, extravagant and stubborn, but then everyone has his demons. Why I like him is that he says exactly how he feels without regard for political correctness or consequences. He does not have to speak. He could have retired quietly from CBN in a few months from the time he was unceremoniously removed by Jonathan, and take appointment from world Bank or other international financial bodies like his predecessors. He did not need to criticise Gandoje or the Northern elites for the way the pauperise their people. He could remain silent and enjoy his emirship until he dies. I adore such men, who feels the pains of the poor and critical of his ruling class. |
Focusmind:I agree sanusi is highly respected in the south (except the South east where they are still angry at him for exposing corruption at NNPC under Jonathan). His greatest opposition would come from the northern elites who hate his message of reducing poverty and illiteracy the north. |
EzeNdiAra:How did he become the Emir because of GEJ? Was he not removed as CBN governor before he was made emir? Was he not qualified or in line to become Emir? Did he not become Emir through the kingmakers of the Kano Emirates council? |
Daniel058:Even though I would hate to see another fulani become the president, I would make an exception for Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Sanusi for president. The problem is the elite will not want someone who can change the status quo. Even the poor suffering masses he is fighting for, would rather support their slave master. |
Ipisi:Which devils advocate? Even if the money looted was not $50 billion, but just $20 billion according to Okonjo-Iweala or a few billions according to KPMG, was money looted under Jonathan or not? Sanusi tells it how he see it, no matter whose ox is gored. You jonathan worshippers can partner with Gandollar to attack Sanusi, God will always elevate him higher. You think if he loses the Emirship, he would not get a good job at the world Bank or other multinational financial cooperation? |
KwaraRat:Which God is fighting for him? If God is fighting for him, he would not have lost the elections. |
Granting TV and radio license in the 21st century? With Internet radio, YouTube, and other social media gradually taking over our broadcast space, the president is granting TV and radio licences. Maybe they should be granting broadcast licenses for social media outlets such as nairaland, Sahara reporters, etc. |
lepasharon:That you. One individual. Me, I have not been able to kill a chicken, before you start talking about a human being. To many people killing another person is no big deal. Poverty and desperation can lead women to do despicable things. Poor sex workers that must work everyday to feed, pay for their hostels and other expenses cannot afford to get pregnant, not to talk of keeping a baby. I have seen ladies abort a fetus in the morning and still go to clubs in the evening looking for customers. The problem with religious people is that instead of looking at issues holistically and try and proper practical solutions, they rather bury their heads in the sand. They would rather condemn, preach sermons and generally make themselves feel holier than thou. Those women are pure evil, abortion being illegal has nothing to do with.I would not go as far as labeling them evil. I would say they are confused, alone without parental guidance or family support and they take desperate irrational measures. Why do ppl excuse infanticide? No one is excusing infanticide as no one has suggested she should not be prosecuted and punished. Murder is murder, wether it involves a baby, a child or an adult. |
gidgiddy:What of federal assets? How will federal assets both local and overseas be shared. Then there is also the issue trillions in government treasury bills, some 10 years yield, who will pay them? |
Mokason28:For each one that is saved, do you know how many are killed/murdered? This baby is one of the lucky few. Many newborns are simply thrown into the lagoon or murdered and buried without anyone knowing, or appearing on social media. The reason I became a strong pro abortion supporter was the day I saw a new born floating in the Lagos lagoon. I know you cannot force a woman, especially a very young girl to birth a care for a baby. If abortion is regulated, and there are options for girls to give out their newborns anonymously, the rate of baby murders will reduce. |
healthserve:I agree with this. You do not love yourself. The first lesson of finding love is to love yourself. You have allowed your lover to erode your self worth, your self confidence, to such an extent he feels he can treat you anyhow, and you will not leave. That's the sad truth. You came here for advice, and you have to prepare to hear the bitter and cruel truth. The irony is that you have so much value. I am sure you are beautiful, you are educated, you are young, you earn your money and don't depend on him, so it's unreasonable to allow a man to treat you like shit. Maybe you did not get enough love while growing up and looking for love in the wrong places. If he can treat you like garbage while doing boyfriend and girlfriend, he will treat you like sewage after marriage. My advice to you is love yourself, appreciate yourself, do things that make yourself happy and not anyone else. Spoil yourself, go out, mix with different people, attend social, religious and professional events, pursue other interests, join Facebook and whatsapp groups that pursue your interests. You don't need him. If is the sex that's making you tolerate these emotional abuses , these will keep your mind busy or at worst get a rubber prick. |
justtoodark:The US that was created from the violent extermination of the native Indians, a blood war to gain independence from Britain and a more bloody civil war to remain one, is one you said was planned and not through conflict? All present day countries except a very insignificant few small states were formed through conflicts. |
Scholar212:Maybe patients should be charged for card, consultancy, doctors and nurses fees, bedspaces, etc also. You talk as if Lagos State residents don't pay taxes. You talk as if government is a private organisation and not public service. If I can freely donate my own blood to save a life, it is immoral for a state government to collect money to screen the same blood. Afterall, I did not collect money for food to make the blood. |
munas:So you mean to tell us that Lagos State Government does not have personnel and equipment to screen ordinary blood? So what are they using the huge taxes they collect from residences and the huge IGR to do? |
Hyperchi:It had been the US foreign policy to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital for decades, it just that no other president had implemented the policy before Trump It was the US that made the independence of Taiwan possible. Taiwan was created when the US navy controlled the South China Sea in the aftermath of US defeat of Japan after WW2. Till today, it's because of the US that China has not invaded Taiwan. US is playing a balancing game between China and Taiwan. Trump cannot take a major foreign policy decision without the approval of Congress. During apartheid, it was congress that imposed sanctions on the white south African Government. |
SweetCunt97:The Nigerian mind is trained to hope on hopelessness, plan on planlessness and prepare on unpreparedness. So you hear such terms as unmerited favour, miracle success, god will provide, etc. |
Tonyfx:The illiteracy being displayed by kanu and his IPOB worshippers is overwhelming. The US foreign government policies are dictated by both the senate and the executive. You need the support of both to benefit anything from the US government. A US election is coming this year with very unpredictable outcome. Trump could win re election, the Democrats could take control of both houses. No foreign country and I repeat no foreign country or group could be seen as supporting one party or the other, they all feign neutrality. Even Ukraine that is in the centre of the power play between the Democrats and Republicans chose to remain politically neutral. So what happens if Trump loses the elections? You start wailing Trump's loss and cursing the new Democratic president, like you guys did in 2015 after putting all your eggs in Jonathan's basket? |
