Having said that, if 'nothing' is the third best therapy, what does that say about the first and second best therapies? It means they cannot be proven to work. To prove a drug works, you need to carry out clinical trials with control. The control being placebos given to a second group. If the results of the drug are not much different from the control, the whole result is discarded.

Did the use of chloroquine alter the general fatality figures of infected people in the US or any other country using it as a cure? Maybe that's the secret of Nigeria and other Africans countries, because we have less than 1% fatality rate.

1. The crisis came to Nigeria later than the countries you mention in the west. Therefore, those countries having provided an example cannot be compared with Nigeria whom should have learned by the aforementioned example?

3. That like for like comparisons are not possible because one, those countries have a far higher inflow of traffic from affected spots; and second, because Nigerias testing capacity is far, far lower than that of other countries...so we may be thinking the crisis is lower here than it actually is. US made this error as well.

4. That there is an obvious cycle where the initial wave of cases seems manageable and then balloons.

Having said all this, I conclude by arguing, without making any comparison that Buhari mismanaged this situation by:

1. Leaving the borders open until a critical mass had become infected

2. Failing to beef up the NCDC capacity despite having showed initial foresight.

3. Failing to address the nation in a timely manner, leading to states having to take the lead

4. Failing to provide critical food supplies for the poor in areas under federal lock down.

Now all of this is underscored by this simple fact: Nigeria does not have the resources other nations have to effectively tackled this crisis. Therefore we ought to have taken extra care. All Mr. President had to do was to close the borders early enough.

Nigeria cannot just shut his borders too early to all incoming traffic. Stopping flight from China did not work as Trump found out. The virus could come from any country, even before it reaches epidemic levels in that country. If Buhari stopped all flights to Nigeria the very week the outbreak started in Wuhan, the regular wailers would have wailed endlessly on how Nigeria did not close the borders during SARS in 2003.

The issue here is that the FDA is divided as some feel in the face of this pandemic sufficient test has been done to approve it while others feel the need to exhaust all medical procedures before approving it. Obama left an agent embedded inside the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to monitor any virus outbreak from China. Trump removed the agents just 6 months before the virus hit. If the agent was still there, Trump would have gotten first hand intelligence on whatever was going on in China and acted before it got put of hand.

Are you aware that chloroquine was banned for treatment of malaria by WHO since 2002. Most countriesof the world including Nigeria had banned the use of chloroquine as treatment for malaria. Before now, I could get the full treatment (intravenously ) in only a few places and it was expensive. No doctor would prescribe chloroquine.

The media cannot suppress anything. There are scientists that are specialised in the field, such as Micro biologists, virologists, epidemiologists, etc. They research claims and come out with their findings, which will help others in the medical profession cure their patients.

Coronaviruses had been with us for millenia, and will continue to be with us for millenia more. If a simple drug like chloroquine was the cure, believe, that would have been discovered before even it's use for malaria. It will not take a messiah in the mold of Trump to give us the revelation.

I have always said that there is a world wide medical scam in common flu and coronaviruses in general. The pharmaceuticals are raking in billions to sell a cure for a disease we all know is incurable. They sell all sorts of miracle cure for the common Cold, which a few days rest and immune boosting supplements will cure. I stopped buying all these rubbish over 20 years ago, eg actifed, procold, and lots more I can't remember now. They are all useless. Common Cold (flu) will kill those it will kill, but majority will survive it and move on, until the next infection. Same with covid19.

4 out of 5 were successfully treated and discharged in France in just 5 days and another 65 out of 80. That’s about 80% success rate in both instances which is very good and we are yet to record any fatality from those that took it with prescription.

Covid-19 will kill you if you don’t treat it and you tell people not to take a drug with over 80% success rate to get a life line. What’s the worst that could happen if you take it?

FDA and all medical professionals have stressed that "there are no vaccines or cure for coronavirus as of today", so where did you get the false information that 4 out of 5 patients were successfully treated with chloroquine in France. If it was true France will blow her own trumpet and not wait for Trump or you to blow it for them.
Coronavirus virus has a fatality rate of between 2 - 4%, so 4 out of 5 patients recovering is even above the fatality rate (assuming 1 out of every patient dies (that's an astounding 20% fatality rate). Most people that survived the coronavirus, did without taking any drug, except palliatives to alleviate symptoms and rest. So even if you take chloroquine, agbo, paracetamol or chalk, the fatality rate would not change from the traditional 2 - 4%. I even think chloroquine will worsen the fatality rate, due to adverse side effects of the drug, especially on people who had never taken it.
