PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is SAFER Than The USA. Discuss. by wirinet(m): 11:51pm On Feb 25, 2020
Rossinnki:
Approximately 17,000 Americans are shot dead annually in the USA by fellow Americans.

This is direct from the FBI:

''In 2018, the estimated number of murders in the nation was 16,214. This was a 6.2 percent decrease from the 2017 estimate, a 14.5 percent increase from the 2014 figure, and a 5.3 percent increase from the number in 2009.''

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018/topic-pages/murder

When we say that you Nigerian youths are the dumbest, most uninformed, ignorant, self-loathing group of people on earth, you wonder why.

Nigeria is far safer than the USA, but the way you imbeci.les go online rubbishing Nigeria daily, and making out that she is the most dangerous and worst place on earth, talking every day about ''insecurity'' because you stupidly think everywhere outside Nigeria is paradise on earth. Is that not how you guys end up in slavery in Libya?

Today the whole world is scared of visiting Nigeria because of you people.

People think they will be killed by Boko Haram or 'Fulani herdsmen' the minute they step foot in Nigeria, courtesy of you SCUMBAGS that go around smearing this country.

Mumu people. Keep hating your country, you hear? Shebi Trump has banned you. Tomorrow may others follow suit. So that finally you will start to focus on investing in your own society, instead of hating it.

Americans suffer 10 times more ''insecurity'' than Nigerians, but how often do you see Americans blaming Trump, or condemning their nation online as a ''shiithole'', or ''zoo'', or ''failed state'', and all these hateful adjectives you imbecil.es use to describe Nigeria?

Idiots drowning in inferiority complex and self hate..

Oh and guess what. You think that US murder rate is high?

Wait till you see the annual death rate from drug ovedose:

''More than 70,200 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2017, including illicit drugs and prescription opioids—a 2-fold increase in a decade''

https://www.drugabuse.gov/related-topics/trends-statistics/overdose-death-rates

Those deaths could be ended tomorrow if the US govt was not run by corrupt people benefitting hugely from the drug trade. Those drugs pass through US borders! Bribery and corruption by US officials and senior politicians allows this to fester unchecked.

Is any of this comparable to the few hundred people killed by herdsmen and BH per year? Nope.

But foreigners believe Nigeria is 100 times more dangerous than the USA because of what NIGERIANS post about their own country online daily.

USELESS SET OF PEOPLE. YOU'RE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMIES.
My brother keep educating them. It's we ourselves that is damaging our reputation outside. We wash and dry our dirty linens for the whole world to see, while others hide theirs. You will hardly see other people rubbish their country to outsiders. Even Syria, Bangladesh, Somalians, Congo, who live in worst conditions that us don't go trying to destroy their country. You will see Ghana, Rwanda, Angola, Vietnam and many country's citizen laundering the image of their countries online. They only show the few urban cities they have. They hide the vast majority of the villages where you find abject poverty, where majority of the population lives. Many practically believe these countries are better than Nigeria.

No matter what indices you use, Nigeria is not the worst in the world.

In terms of wealth and income inequality, ie the gap between the rich and poor, South Africa is the worst in the world, Nigeria is no. 35 from bottom - https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2018/04/02/598864666/the-country-with-the-worlds-worst-inequality-is
In the US, over 38 million Americans live below the poverty line - https://www.npr.org/2019/09/10/759512938/u-s-census-bureau-reports-poverty-rate-down-but-millions-still-poor

In terms of corruption, Nigeria is not the worst, we are around No. 140 out of 179 countries. It terms of perception, Nigerians think we are the most corrupt nation of earth.

That we have huge problems cannot be denied, we have corrupt and inept government at all levels, we have huge social integration issues, we have huge infrastructural deficits, but we should not forget the fact that many countries are grappling with their own issues too.

There goes a country that produces nothing banning people means of livelihoods. What is the percentage of plastic we produce in the world as compared to china or the USA.
You will be surprised by the amount of plastic bottles, satchels and bags we produce. I own house is overwelmed by plastic bottles. We have water, coke, merinda, five alive and other bottles all over my house. My bins are always full. It got me thinking about this plastic problem even before now.

Nigerians use and dispose million of plastic bottles everyday. Where do they all end up? In the gutters and eventually in the oceans, since we don't have a waste management system. It's a huge problem today and would be a catastrophe very soon. Look into all the gutters in this dry season, they are all filled with empty plastic bottles. We are not even talking about plastic satchel for pure water and food packaging yet.

We need to replace plastic packaging with something that's bio degradable.

I said she went for the burial (in company of her 2 little childeren plus some family members) with a bus load mobile Policemen.

Igbo customs existed for centuries before lugard and his ashawo wife cobbled your nigeria together under the influence of tombo liquor.
The house where the nigeria was cobbled together is now in shatters, rotten beyond redemption to reflect the hopeless state of the contraption they sewed up together.

So yes Igbo customary laws superceeds you Nigerian law that is less than a 100 years old. My grandfather is older than the so-called nigerian constitution..No living man is older than Igbo customary laws.

Another name for nigeria is 'Tufiakwa'.
Which yeye igbo customary laws? You guys truly deserve your own igbo only country, where you can be allowed to go back to the stone age.

I don't blame you guys, it's your women I blame. They take too much shit from misogynist menfolks in the name of tradition. Come to warri and try half of these useless customs on our girls and they will show you how far.

Property, she has no right to inherit from her own father. Her own child she carried for 9 month, you want to claim, because her baby daddy did not come and pay you money in the form of bride price. If the husband dies, you will see the husband's brothers circling like vultures to come and claim properties they did not work for. If the husband dies, the wife will be made to endure all sorts of humiliating ceremonies in the name of culture.

I am always proud of the way my wafi sisters treat their Bleep up. I am seen a situation where a igbo man who was married to an urhobo lady died. She and her little children went to bury the man in his village with a full detachment of mopol. The youths of the town wanted to cause trouble, insisting she undergoes some ceremonies. After the mopol used some to do "for example" no body told them to forget culture.

After the burial, the family made mistake of coming to warri, where the guy built a massive house and plenty cars. I trust Ekpan youths, they were waiting for them.

You are arguing blindly. The father is dead and the mother took the child to her father. If the boy is alive and wants his child it will go to the courts. If the child's mother did not give the child to her father, he cannot claim it.
The primary rights to a child belongs to both parents

Is a bit more complicated than you thought. It all have to be a matter of culture and tradition. Yes Davido is wealthy he will be able to withstand all the push and resist anything throw at him but if they are able to take that child to ibo land and Chioma and her father agree that the said child is not for Davido, I believe that settle everything. because I had witnessed the same till today my friend family are still doing everything within their power to get the son back from and ibo lady and the father. They have exploit all available means but nothing good comes out. My friend dated and impregnated the ibo lady and had a son for him. Unfortunately my friend had and ghastly accident and died at the spot. The lady and the child live with him before this incident happened. This happened about 8yrs ago, till today nobody have see the little boy. I do see the lady, all what she's saying is her people have collected the child from her and my friend family had seen her parents severally to see if there's anything they needed to do to take the child all to no avail. They had involved litigation and mediation with full proof, nothing positive comes out. The son don't even have and ibo name. From what I realise, it is the tradition and culture of the land that will determine
You are comparing apples to oranges. The main difference in this case is; the father is late. So the only person with absolute rights to the child is the mother, and if the mother willingly gives the child to her family, there is little the child's father's family can do. The situation would be different if the father is alive and demands paternity rights. Then there would be custody battle in the courts and visitation rights issues among other issues.

You guys need to get this into your skulls, the two parents of a child has equal paternity rights to a child before any body else.

Anybody talking about Yoruba in this situation is just been mischievous. It can be considered at all.
Please explain why davido's culture is not in the picture, but chioma's own is. Yoruba's culture recognise paternity based on DNA and not bride price, is accorded full family rights including inheritance. So because the girl is Igbo means Yoruba culture should be disregarded?

You are a comedian.
Don't mind him, he still sees female children as commodities or investments, to collect dividends from intending husbands.

So a man will many female children will be saddled with the responsibility of adopting all his unmarried daughter children, in old age, when he should be retired and resting.

The implications of what he is saying is that igbo girls and their boyfriends can be having children up and down without the responsibility of caring and raising the children because the children belongs to the girl's fathers. You fail to realize that men can impregnate 7 girls in one week. If he has no responsibility to his children whatsoever, what stops him from impregnating girls up and down like 2 face?

You obviously aren't igbo, if Chioma's family take the child and decide not to give him to another man, the child belongs to them and can inherit everything from Chioma's family. Haven't you heard of ladies giving birth in their father's house in other for her family to have a Male child?
I wonder why you girls support cultures that demean women and exploit children. As an adult women (I assume you are over 18), you talking like someone without any rights. Your father has no rights to take your children from you, not to talk of your baby daddy's. Chioma's family cannot decide to give davido's son to anybody, they have no such rights under Nigerian law. Even if davido bleeped chioma on his father's bed and gave birth on the same fathers bed, the child does not belong to him, unless the two parents forgo their parental rights, or its the father's sperm that produced the baby.

You don't imagine been told the truth because you want to forcefully claim another man's child. Chioma's father will just sit and watch you trample on his right?

Not possible
Which right does chioma's father has? He does not even have rights over chioma, who is an adult, not to talk of her baby.
He wants to collect bride price abi? He should carry gun and point to davido to collect it.

Some igbos behave like 18th century bush men, but claim to better than others.

Even if davido pays chioma's bride price, what happens to his children if the couple divorces, and chioma marries another man? The new man will claim the child, or the father will claim the child?

All these father claiming others people's children is not out of love, but a blackmail to collect bride price up and down. Some fathers that cannot even feed themselves, will be claiming other people's children.

In sane societies, a man that impregnates a woman is forced to pay child care for the child until 18. Many have gone to jail for avoiding their responsibilities to their children, but in igbos archaic culture, it's all about greed of collecting bride price and not the welfare of the child.

Good analyses but to shock you, except influenced by other factors: money, corruption, misrepresentation and/or misinterpretation of actual traditional rites, ordinarily, Igbo tradition will not compromise it's standards when it wants to decide on Davido-Chioma unmarried status, with Ifeanyi at hand– it will be so blunt–in the event actual ownership of Ifeanyi arises.

The young man adviced Davido rightly, in the light of Igbo culture and cultural rites.
You are failing to consider on thing,
Davido is not igbo , so he is not bound by igbo culture.

When my first cousin wanted to marry an anambra prince in warri, in one of the ceremonies, he was expected to tie a wrapper. He refused vehemently, he said as a prince, he cannot tie a wrapper. It was a big issue. When I became a stalemate, my uncle got up and told everyone to let the groom wear what his custom permits.
So when you have a clash of cultures, common sense should prevail. You cannot expect others to imbibe your culture by force, that's fundamentalism.

This muslim man, if you are not ready to follow the tradition stick to your own women, customary laws are sacrosanct and cannot be overruled. If you think otherwise, bring your fulani herdsmen and settle them by force on communal lands by quoting your constitution. Even your buhari as rabidly nepotistic can try it!
You guys are so dumb but you claim wiseness. You repeat the same few words, Muslim, Afonja, Fulani cow, etc, when you run out of sense.

Your laws are barely a few decades old, but Igbo customary laws have outlived your 10 generation ancestors and will outlive your 10th generation offspring. We both know that.
Same way allowing twins to live is barely a few decades old, but customary laws to have them murdered have outlived your 10 generation.

Ewedu people still think they can sound sanctimonous about Igbo marital tradition but they still preserve all sort of obscenities in their yoruba tradition, these sanctimonous oafs still kidnap people, kill them and bury them with corpse of their kings when a yoruba king dies.
And there are no sanctimonous traditions igbo tradition, where daughters are treated as commodities to be sold to the highest bidder, where women are not allowed to inherit their fathers properties, where women are forced to drink the bath water of their husband's corpse and where Osu tradition is still rife.

But they think Igbo tradition and customary laws with all it's wisdom should be relegated for their benefit? What nonsense? Can these numbskulls go to the north and tell the hausas how to re-organize their Sharia?
What's the wisdom in these stupid traditions? So you know igbo tradition and customs is as primitive as sharia. Anyway, sharia just like primitive igbo customs is for the poor. Have you seen any rich man being tried in sharia court? Same way you cannot try any rubbish igbo culture on rich and influential people.

Hear it very clear you morons, Customary laws still remain sacrosanct, as far that law have not been abrogated, that child belongs to Chioma's dad, davido is a simply a sperm donor who has refused to do the needful.
Customary laws are the lowest laws in the hierarchy of laws in Nigeria. Ordinary state laws over ride customary laws.

If he does that then that is not different from a rapist coming back to claim the fruit of his rape. funny you're rather the person who see women as incubators for random men. the same thing Igbo tradition protects them from.
Igbo laws and tradition is not the Supreme law in Nigeria. Whether the girl lives under her parents or under a bridge, as long as the DNA matches, he is legally the father. You cannot impose igbo customs on non igbos.
You are so attached to igbo culture that you fail to realise that other people have cultures too. You are now comparing a consensual sexual relationship between 2 consenting adults to rape. That's taking the arguments to low levels.

The girls family can only lay claim to the child if the father is not interested in exercising or enforcing paternity rights.

How can you claim a child you've not done anything on the mothers' head.

Chioma's father has greate and 100 percent claim on the child than Davido...........Thats just the fact.
False.
I have heard that narrative from so many igbo people that a child from your own DNA is not yours until you pay bride price on the mothers head. That can apply in an Igbo only country, but in Nigeria, the constitution reigns supreme.

According to the Nigerian constitution, as long as you can prove in a court of law that the baby matches your DNA 99.99%, you have parental rights. If your child's mother and family abduct your child to their villages in Igboland, you sue their ass to court.

I don't know how some igbos think their own culture will supersede other people's culture in Nigeria, the same way Fulanis think their cultural laws is above the Nigerian constitution. In yoruba culture, once a woman borns for you, she is automatically assumed to be your wife - bride price or not. The baby is accorded all rights as a child of the family.
PoliticsIndependence Without Difficulties Is A Dream Of Utopia. by wirinet(op): 8:29pm On Feb 24, 2020
This is an article first published by Time Magazine – Monday, Nov. 10, 1958. It detailed the intrigues and power play between the three main power brokers in Nigeria, all jostling for political power.

I believe the mistake of 1959 is more consequential than 1914. In the 1914 amalgamation, we had no choice. In 1959, we did have the choice of each region going it's own way, but the politicians choose to remain amalgamated.

Here is the article.
For one month, delighted Londoners watched the 80 ceremonially dressed Nigerians—some with necklaces of animal teeth, others with feathered straw hats, at least one with a jeweled crown—parade into Lancaster House for their historic conference.

Everything possible had been done to make them feel at home.

For the Colonial Office’s big reception at the Tate Gallery, all nude statues were carefully screened so as not to offend Moslems. The Lord Mayor served up a banquet of stewed peanuts, and one paramount Chief—His Highness James Okosi II of the Onitsha —fulfilled a lifelong ambition: to ride the escalator at the Charing Cross underground station.[?]

In the end, the Nigerians got what they had come for: on Oct. 1, 1960, the largest (373,250 sq. mi.) of Britain’s remaining colonial territories would get its independence (TIME. Nov. 3). But behind the scenes the conference had revealed ominous signs of trouble to come.

From the start there was a clash between the personalities of the Premiers of the three regions —each obviously more important than the scholarly Federal Prime Minister, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.

In Western eyes, Obafemi Awolowo of the Western Region seemed the most statesmanlike: as the conference began, the London Times carried a full-page ad proclaiming his declaration for freedom under the title “This I Believe,” prepared with the help of an American public relations man.

In contrast, U.S.-educated Premier Nnamdi (“Zik”) Azikiwe of the Eastern Region seemed to have learned more in the U.S. about Tammany tactics than Thomas Jefferson, and was somewhat under a cloud as a result of a British tribunal’s 1956 investigation into corruption in his administration.

The North’s Premier, the Sardauna of Sokoto, a haughty Moslem of noble birth, could barely conceal his contempt for his less aristocratic colleagues.

Insults And Accusations!
Under the great chandeliers of the Lancaster House music room, where Chopin once played for Queen Victoria, the Premiers bickered, shot insults back and forth like poisoned darts.

When the conference took up the ticklish problem of how to protect the rights of minorities among Nigeria’s 250 tribes, Awolowo suggested creating three new states. The North’s Sardauna, not wishing to relinquish any of his own territory, vetoed the idea. Nor did he like the plan for a centralized police force under the federal government: he much preferred to use his own force, which, answerable only to him, can pop a man in jail with no questions asked.

At one point, the Sardauna accused Awolowo of sending his supporters to Israel to be trained as saboteurs in the North —a charge fabricated out of the fact that Western Nigeria has imported agricultural experts from Israel to advise its farmers. Awolowo countercharged that the Sardauna flogs his prisoners.

At receptions the delegates sipped their orange juice, icily aloof from one another. In elevators conversation would suddenly stop if a delegate from another region got on.

Compromises And Contests!
But as the weeks passed, the Sardauna grudgingly consented to let the constitution carry a bill of rights, though he was so thoroughly opposed to giving the vote to women that the conference decided that this was, after all, not necessarily a “fundamental” right.

The delegates then agreed on a centralized police force, but one that would be administered by a council of representatives from each region. Finally, with their own independence from Britain assured (as well as that of the adjacent British Cameroons, should they choose to become a part of Nigeria), the delegates started for home.

Until Nigeria’s federal election takes place next year, the three Premiers will continue jockeying for power, and the fate of Nigeria could well hinge on who comes out on top. Last week, even as the National Planning Committee of Independence opened its contest for the design of a national flag (first prize: $300), many Nigerians had grave reservations about what lay ahead.

For all its jubilation, Nigeria’s West African Pilot felt obliged to warn: “Independence without difficulties is a dream of Utopia.”

A New York Times report from 1926, when the secret was revealed, said that the planes were “automatically guided with a high degree of precision” and after a predetermined distance were supposed to suddenly turn and fly vertically downward, carrying enough TNT to “blow a small town inside out.”

Ur hatered for Jews and Israel have advance. It now ur dutie to attack anyone that praise their work.

Guy they are the greatest inventor of our time. Drones is one of it. Google the rest, and if u are not satisfy kill urself
Why will I hate Jews or Israel as a country? What business do I have with Jews? I neither love or hate Jews (or any other groups of people for that matter), as I have no business with them.

I do love my country men though. I love the igbos, I love the Yorubas, I love the ijaws, as these are my brothers whom I live with and do business with. I would have loved the Fulanis, but they kill my brothers with no provocation.
The group of people I can say is hate are Nigerian politicians irrespective of tribe. They are wicked and greedy and make life difficult for me and my fellow Nigerians.

Why not give me the name or names of these great Jewish inventions and what they invented.

The state of Israel is doing great in drone research and technology, but they did not invent the drone. Drone technology had been progressing soon after the Wright brothers invented the flying machine, and the technology accelerating after WW2.

What do you mean by you love Jews and Israel? Are you saying that all Jews are superior to you? Will you start worshipping any jew you come across?
Even Benie Sanders who is a full fledged Jew is not supporting the current government in Israel.

Please learn to love yourself and your people. It's the greatest love of all.

How is it partial closure ?? When virtually every thing banned still comes in freeeeeeely tru the Northern borders?? I gave example earlier Foreign rice ,used clothes (okirika), frozen foods??
Do you have proof Foreign rice ,used clothes (okirika), frozen foods are coming into Lagos or the south through the northern borders? Or you are sitting in the south just speculating.

Most items are smuggled through the creeks and sea between Benin republic and Lagos, as customs do not have enough boats and manpower to prevent maritime smuggling, especially at night time.

My love for Israel is unquantified
But Israels love for you is unquantifiable, as it's zero.
What of love for your country, your tribe, your family and yourself?
I hope you know Israel rejected any remote ancestry with your tribe, they say a DNA research yield no connection whatsoever.

I won't have replied you because I don't have time for religious bigots or haters. The world is not bipolarised through the lenses of Christianity and Islam alone. You have Judaists, Bhuddists, Hare Krishnas, Traditional Worshippers (Ogun, Oya, Osun, Amadioha) and many others who believe in what they believe in and it is their fundamental human right. In fact, Judaism came before Christianity and Islam.
How can one be a religious bigot and a religious hater at the same time? Are the 2 not mutually exclusive?

You made a stupendous claim that Israel is a quiet leader in technological inventions, and I called you out to give the technolical invention Israel has given the world, you are shouting religious bigot and hater.
But to let you know the inventions by Jews, let me start with Google (Larry Page and Sergey Brin, they are Jewish); "disk on key" (USB Flashdisk), metal detectors, security jeeps, elevators, electric wheelchairs, drip irrigation systems were all created by Jews. And to those you may not know, they also created 3G Solar, MobileEye, Indigo Digital Printing Presses, IMI Tavor TAR-21 and Python (Defence) and hundreds of others I can't list here. Use one of their products "Google" to find out.
Are these the technological inventions Israel is leading or gave the world?
Google is technology? Isn't that something? Google was innovative? yes; but invented the technology to start indexing web pages ? No. There were many search engines before Google. Yahoo was the leading search engine in the mid 90's, even before even Sergey Brin and Larry Page graduated from the university.

I don't have time to go through the rubbish "inventions" by Jews (no longer Israel) you listed up, but on the top of my head, I know the metal detector was invented by Graham Bell.
For your information it was Larry Page's mother that was Jewish, his father who was one of the pioneers of computer science isn't a Jew.

Does that mean that Muslims or other people don't create things? No. At least, the Arabic numerals and other inventions by Arabs have changed the world.
So Israel is no longer the world's leader in technological inventions.

So, I am not a religious bigot, never was and never will be but the OP posted information on a Jewish invention and I passed my innocent comment on it. I expect that you know it is my right and I did it not insulting or abusing or disparaging any individual or group.

Thank you.
I never accused you of being a religious bigot. I said you are a Jew worshipper, like lots of other Christians who worship Jewish people (who by the way don't give a shit about them), because of religion. It's just like the way muslims worships Arabians just because of religion.

The person you quoted is known religious bigot. He hates muslims and especially atheists. I just took one look at his claims and dismissed it. The so called "invention" looked clumsy. There was very little details on how the machine works.
I know Israel is advanced in drone technology, but he never stated whether the "new invention" is a drone.
