lionstone:Asari, A freedom fighter? That is the joke of the century. Whos freedom has he been fighting for? Maybe the freedom of his pockets and those of his criminal gang. The real freedom fighters of the Niger Delta are martyrs like Ken Saro Wiwa, who fought Abacha to a stand still and refuse all financial inducements from Abacha and shell. |
havocypie:You must be living on planet mars. Google Asari's interview where he listed his various investments during his arrest in Benin republic. |
lionstone:Asari has future for us people? Abeg which kind of future is that? Since you Igbos are so much in love with him, we dash you, so that he can plot your future for you, i am sure you want a bright future too. We as people of the whole south - south want a future of development, education for our children, peace and justice. We reject Asari kind of development of war, oil spills and selfish interest. He should take such developments to igbo land or better still Benin Republic. |
Nigerians must be congratulated for displacing the PDP from the centre, it was no an easy task. Even our igbo brothers contributed to the ousting of PDP as they did not give the PDP the humongous figures they gave the party in 2011. PDP had become too arrogant and insensitive not only to the Nigerian masses but also to its members including its founding members. Complaints by the masses were waved aside, policies were implemented without support or regard for the ordinary people. Members grievances were brushed aside and told to go to hell, leading to decamping of very prominent members. PDP indeed messed up at the national level. After defeating PDP at the National level, we must now fight again to make sure that PDP does not fail. Allowing PDP to fail will put us in a worse situation we found ourselves when PDP was supreme. Let me explain further. To achieve order in any aspect of life, there has to be balance - the chinese call it ying-yang, the west refer to this balance as karma. This order must be a balance of two opposite but equal forces - electron and proton, God and devil, north and south, male and female, up and down, darkness and light. Where there is an imbalance in any one of these factors, imbalance ensures. Likewise on the political sphere, a balance is achieved only when we have two equally strong but opposing parties. If we take a look at the most successful countries in the world you will see that their political space has evolved two equally strong but opposing parties, and if you look at most failed or failing states, you will notice the general thread is a uni-party system, either a one party state or a one party dominated state. Nigeria was slipping into a one party system until Tinubu was able to revive the opposition and created a bi-party system in Nigeria. The greates mistake we will ever make is to allow APC become the dominant party and revert back to a one party dominated state. If we allow APC to dominate the Federal Government, the Federal Legislature and the state governments and legislatures, Nigeria would have reverted back to a one party dominated state. APC would also became arrogant and insensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians. Party leaders like Tinubu would behave like Gods, the president might become dictatorial. So I impoy Nigerians to help balance out political power between PDP and APC. Already APC controls the Federal Government and both chambers of the National Assembly, we should support PDP to win at least half of the states in Nigeria. It is important for PDP to win at least one of the 3 key states - namely Lagos, Rivers or Kano. Lagos and Kano is within reach as Kano is certainly APC. We should support Jimi Agbaje in Lagos. Lagos can act as the opposition centre just like it did under Tinubu when Lagos was the sole AD state. Imagine where we would have been today if PDP took Lagos along with the other south western states. So please help support Jimi Agbaje for the Governorship. I really would not like to see the situation where the lagos state governor and the vice president were norminated by one man. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
Oluremi nor any other senator from the south west cannot be senate president, the number 2 and number 3 persons in Nigeria cannot be from the same region. Since the president will be from the north east, the vice president from the south west, the senate president should be from the south east or south south. But are there any APC senators from the south East or South South? Only One senator from Edo. But then he is a green horn so he is unlikely to be voted for by fellow senators. So we are in a dilimma as regarding federal character of principal offices. I think the north central would be mandated to produce the senate president and i think it will naturally fall to Bukola Saraki. Even if the South East has one senator from APC (a second term senator), he would have clinched the ticket on a platter of gold, but as things stand its is impossible for the south east to produce the senate president. That is why we had been warning that the Igbos should not put all their eggs in one basket. I want to know the situation with the speakership, can an igbo clinch the house of representatives? I hope they can because i would want the soulth east to at least clinch the number 4th position. |
PDP lost the presidency the moment they lost Amaechi, i said this much immediately the fight between PDP and Amaechi started. For Amaechi to win the Nigerian Governors Forum elections dispite the opposition from PDP signalled how the future would look like. Amaechi was the most respected governor among all governors in Nigeria, he was the one that dragged the 5 aggrieved PDP governors to APC. He was the main coordinator and motivator of APC. Without Amaechi APC would not have been a formidable force. All the Key Strategy of Buhari were Amaechi's idea, the decision to boycott debates and use town hall meetings instead, the decision to embark on international diplomacy to make Buhari more acceptable internationally (despite his controversial past), etc. Like Babangida said, the gravest mistake Jonathan made was letting Amaechi go and fighting Baba. |
NaijaTalkTown:Thank you my guy. If na you Nko, won't you do the same? FFK was a broke ass who was not really appreciated in the APC, he saw an opportunity to make cool cash as he knew GEJ was desperate. He played his cards right and bingo he got a juicy appointment to take his share of 21 billion campaign money with the added benefit of having his corruption case dropped. Which mortal can refuse such an opportunity. If Buhari wins, he will just take his cash and go and cool down in UK, with one ogbonge Igbo babe (since he has a crush on fine Igbo girls), then come back later when the heat has died down to lobby the new government. |
Reiyvinn:So what is the state of the ballot box, did it come back with stuffed ballot papers or it came back empty? What about other voting materials like result sheet, are the intact? I hope the damage had not been done and the so called return is not film trick. Please try and take pictures if you can. |
I might be having myopia as i can seem to find the title of the thread in the body of the article. Can you please highlight and bold the parts that specified that 9 persons were arrested inside one truck and they were APC party members. Thanks |
GenBuhari:E be like say na only you get sense for this obodo Nigeria. The Government and its supporters are getting carried away by pyrric victory. This so called victory is just an election gimmick, Boko haram would surely come back more deadly after all the gra gra dies down. Boko Haram is strategizing and evolving, their alligiance to ISIS is strategic. Nigeria might be the new haven for ISIS. All the conditions that allowed Boko Haram to germinate and grow into the monster it is today are still in place. Weak border controls, non existent or weak intelligience network, high poverty and illiteracy rate among the population, lack of any social infrastructure, lack of a well trained, equipped and discipline army and last but not the least a very corrupt government. All these are recipe for the nurture and growth for insurgency. |
OneNaira6:I am sorry to say, you do not talk like someone in the medical profession much less someone who had ever taken a course in psychology. If you had done basic biology, you will be aware that an 18 yr is physically and pyschologically ready to conceive. Throughout history the age of adulthood had been contentious and varied. In primitive and ancient societies a girl is deemed an adult the minute she see her first period, but with medical advances, we learn that a girls body is not matured for child bearing until she is about 16, nor is she pyschologically ready for motherhood. So the age of adulthood for girls was shifted to 16. Even then a lot of girls are not matured enough until they are around 17. So the age of 18 was universally agreed to be 18, because at 18 most girls girls are physically, mentally and pyschologically matured for child bearing. If you are in the medical profession as you claim, you will be aware that there are three types of ages in relation to people; There is chronological or calender age which is the age from when you were born. The second age is Psychological age, which is the age one feels and behaves and the last age is the physiological age, which is the age the physical body looks ( some 50 yr olds look like 30, while some 30 yr olds look ike 50), and all three mature at different times. So it is impossible to determine a ladies maturity solely on the basis of the chronological age, but it is generally agreed that at 18 years a girl is physchologically, physiologically and mentally matured enough to marry and bear the responsibilities. |
OneNaira6:Nobody here is justifying child marriage, most Nigerians were incensed by Sani Yarima wedding to a 14 year old minor. What we are saying is that an 18 year old is an adult in Nigeria and most countries of the world and if she decides to marry a 90 year old man and her family agrees, that is her perogative. It should not distress you so much. Do any of you all have proof that aisha was a virgin prior to her marriage to Buhari? The fact that both her children are old enough to be in college actually implies that aisha herself was pregnant for Buhari prior to her marriage.you are just making unfounded assumptions, Aisha Buhari is 44 years old, so it is very possibile to give birth to her first child at 20. Are you people trying to act that you all are not aware that most women lose their virginity before their 18 years of age and many have had multiple relationship with multiple men prior to 18 years old? Hell their are 16 years with prior sexual partners than a 24 year old. You doubt me? Go on YouTube or Google and search for it. That amount of people found will amaze una.Assumptions and more assumptions. this is a topic about Aish Buhari, it is not about sexual pervessiveness of teanagers. You have no evidence that Aisha Buhari was a sexual pervert before she married Mohammadu Buhari. Are you all trying to pretend teenage pregnancy is not a global phenomenon as we speak including in that nation you all call Nigeria. The only difference between Nigeria and the rest is that other nations accept it while in Nigeria parents hide their children pregnancy or force the child to abortion. You need consult an english dictionary to learn the meaning of the word pedophilia. It does not include sleeping with ladies over 18 years and definitely not include sleeping with a woman young enough to be your grandchild. There is no moral, legal or social law that mandate couples must be of similar age before having sexual relations. Some women prefer older men while some men prefer younger women. It just happens you prefer women the same age as you, that is your preference, you cannot force your preference on others. Oh one more thing babyosisi has every right to make a thread in regards to it because she is a woman and this problem, which buhari is guilty of, is currently something women worldwide are fighting including in muslim dominated nation. Instead of running una mouths calling her "tribalistic", why don't una go ahead and call every women addressing this problem and getting others to notice about it including in UN "tribalistic" for pointing a disgusting pedophilia "culture".It is only you and the OP that is seeing this as your problem, In the rest of the world it is not a problem at all, including the west. Princess Diana at barely 19 married a 34 year old prince charles, and it celebrated the world over. Celine dion at 24 married René Angélil at 50 years of age, and they had been going out for some years before they decided to get married and no body complained. They are millions of 18 - 20 year old marrying 35 to 50 year old men the world over and nobody is complaining. As long as it is a consentual and not a forced marriage. |
somegirl1:How does what two consenting adults do affect your life? You lot are hypocrites. I am sure you claim to be a good christian. Now, i have one question for you, how old was Mary (mother of Jesus) when she was bethroted to Joseph (the widower), and how old was she when she gave birth to Jesus? It beats me why who others are intimate with disturbs you so much. Are you sure you are not frigid? |
ozoigbondu:Nice advice. What happens if a policeman is silly enough to shoot a civilian going about his lawful duties because of refusal to part with bribe? civilains should organize and Kill 20 policemen in retaliation? I am loving you and Mbu's sense of justice. |
It is a pity that some people are blinded by jealousy. At 44 Aisha Buhari had achieved far more than the OP or her type can ever achieve. She is a graduate of prestigious institutions in Nigeria and UK, she has a responsible, loving, well respected husband, 2 beautiful undergraduate daughters and with a possibility of becoming first lady. Some jobless, husbandless, childless, old hag would be hating. |
EUROFIGHTERR:He will have to show evidence that he was educated up to school certificate level by providing a certified true copy of his certificate or a statement of result from his alma mater. If PDP raises questions about the authenticity of the certificate or the statement of result, the school will be called to defend the statement of result and provide a record of pupils that sat for the 1961 cambridge/WASC exams. All these would be thrashed out at the courts. Having said that, i think Buhari and APC were a bit careless and underestimated the desperation of PDP to attack his candidiacy. PDP has attacked APC right from inception, they even tried denying the APC the use of the APC acronym. Buhari should have used the Diploma he got from US War College as his qualification when filling the INEC form, and allow PDP to argue whether the diploma met the minimum qualification. |
EUROFIGHTERR:There is no requirements for certificates to be submitted, just like there is no provision for Birth certificates, Passport and other documents to be submitted. A presidential candidiate only need to be acceptable by INEC, and once INEC accepts a candidiate, only the courts can disqualify a candidiate. Since an eligiblity case is in court, Buhari now needs to prove to the courts that he is a Nigerian, he is above 40yrs of age and he has a minimum of school certificate level qualification or its equivalent. Buhari is not obliged to show you his certificates, his birth certificates, his marriage certificate or any other certificate, just like Jonathan is not obliged to show me his PHD thesis. |
k9ine:You are not objective at all as you are propounding the same arguments put forward by Fani kayode and PDP. The certificate saga is just a distraction by you and pdp. The constitution is very clear on the minimum academic qualifications of a presidential candidate. It says the minimum academic qualification is School Certificate Level or its equivalent and it went out to list the equivalent of School Certificate level. According to the constitution's definition of school certificate level, 10 years experience as a civil servant with any course lasting more than 6 months is equivalent to Secondary School Certificate level. Even if we assume erroneously that Buhari did not sit for Cambridge WASC exams, he definitely has met the minimum requirements prescribed by the constitution. Is absurd to insist that someone who rose to become a governor, a minister, a head of state and a General in the Nigerian army is not deemed to have met the minimum qualifications to vie for the president of Nigeria. |
nduchucks:Just saw this picture of what someone calls a debate. Is this a debate? I think some people need to demand a refund of their school fees, right from secondary school. They need to look up a the meaning of the word debate. How can one debate with himself? Maybe TVC should organize a debate where Buhari would debate with himself, maybe that would satisfy those asking Buhari for a debate. |
OLADD:You have just been parroting "Jonathan attended one of the two debates of 2011" without providing the proof that Jonathan attended any presidential debate in 2011. Please provide us with links or pictures of the presidential debate Jonathan attended in 2011. Since PDP had never thought presidential debates were important in the past, i wonder why the cries all of a sudden. |
fallout87:If we are to apportion responsibility then GEJ has the lion (or should i say the whale) share of responsibilities. According to the sharing formula GEJ alone controls 52% of all revenue earned by Nigeria. Each governor controls 1/35 of 26%, while each local government chairman is supposed to control 1/774 of 22% of revenue accrued to Nigeria. So Naturally people should hold GEJ for most things wrong with their lives |
KevinBrown:What is ignorance here. My first cousin that stays with me works with michellin and they have closed down their plant and resorted to importing directly from france. So please show us Innoson tyre manufacturing plant. |
KevinBrown:Local finished products cannot be cheaper that Chinese product because of so many reasons, chiefly because; Up to 90% of the raw materials are imported Up to 80% of energy (petrol and diesel) used are imported. High tarrifs and duties on imported raw materials Lack of infrastructures, companies have to run and maintain generators, boreholes and sometimes build their own access roads. High cost of borrowing money. Interest rates by banks hovers between 20 - 25%. Interest rate in china is between 4 - 5%. Multiple taxation by Local state and federal governments. So even if the naira is devalued to N1000 to $1, local finished goods can never be cheaper than imported goods. |
mikeansy:Are you implying that it is the INEC form that is the only proof that; Buhari is a Nigerian, Buhari is above 40 years of age, or that Buhari is educated up to secondary school certificate level or it equivalent; This INEC form must override the Nigerian constitution. |
yugkapmeet:40% ke? what does Innoson actually manufacture? Do they manufacture the alloy sheets used for making the chassis? do they manufacter the engines, gear box, pistons and rings, headlights, etc,. Even the tyres, do they have tyre manufacturing plant inside their complex? even Mitchellin that used to have a tyre plant closed it down and resorted to importing from france instead. I am sure that up to 80% of their materials are imported. |
KevinBrown:I never said the raw materials i listed can't be produced in Nigeria, what i said was that the raw materials are not produced in Nigeria and so have to be imported. What do you mean stereotypes? I am talking about what realilty is on ground and you are talking about stereotypes. I am sure you are either a student or someone who is not on ground to know realities on ground. Let me tell you a strange experience i had this week. I am expanding my office and due to my tight budget, i decided to buy materials myself and just pay artisans like electricians for their labour. I have always bought made in Nigeria wires and cables because they are very good. I requested for made in Nigeria cables and i was given cables with Nigeria engraved on the wires. It was not until i got to my office that i noticed that instead of writing made in Nigeria on the wires, what was written was made for Nigeria. I was furious because i know the difference between in and for, so i took the cables back that i want cables that is made in Nigeria and not made for Nigeria. After trying to convince me unsuccessfully that the cables were made in Nigeria, he then opened up that the wires were actually made in China but for a nigerian company. He said actual made in Nigeria wires would cost about N12,000 for a 1.5mm 3 core cable, while the made for Nigeria one costs N3,000. So who would buy a cable for N12,000 when you can get one (even if it is inferior quality) for N3,000. So expect all cable manufacturing companies to close very soon. |
KevinBrown:And where do you go for the fabrics, threads, bottons, sewing machines and other accessories to make the clothes? Where do you get the components and equipments needed to make Zinox computers? Where do you get the engines, tyres, gear boxes, steel or alloy frame bodies, and all other components and machinery needed to make innoson cars? Where is Covenant university in the list of best universities in the world or even in Africa. What contributions had covenant university made to Nigeria in the field of science, technology and even other humanities. "Aba made" products can never compete with china made products in terms of cost and in an open port policy of the government, you will be surprised that most "Aba Made" products are actually made in China. |
Economic illiterate spewing rubbish. This is what i wrote earlier on the thread on Oluwaseun's views on Naira devaluation; This piece shows Oga Seun is ignorant in economic matters and history. Devaluation of the Naira would cause inflation and affect industries struggling to survive now because Nigeria depends on importation both for finished goods and raw materials. Importers and manufacturers would just adjust their prices to reflect the current naira value. It is suicidal for a wholly importing and open port nation (where every junk from china is allowed in) to devalue its currency. Even the cost of energy will increase as we import 100% of our petroleum products (Petrol Diesel and kerosine). So how do you expect made in Nigeria products to compete with made in China products. We are going round in a full circle. This was the same situation when Buhari took over government in 1983, the naira was falling in value and our import bill was skyrocketting. Buhari too drastic measures to try and reduce our level of import by closing the ports and restricting the demand for dollars. (that was why fela was jailed for allegedly travelling to Germany with undeclared dollars). He rationed imported essential commodities like milk. Although i do not agree with his methods, i know he has the right ideas and intentions. OP is very ignorant and oblivious of the fact that many manufacturing companies are groaning under the current exchange rate and are laying of workers, and subsidy on fuel has not been removed yet. When inflation finally finds its level, i doubt there would be many Nigerian maunfacturing companies standing. |
genevieve12:That is your constitutionally guaranteed right (although you cannot make that rule for your household, especially if your children are over 18 yrs), but you have no right to deny other the rights of other Nigerians to stay behind and defend their votes |
nduchucks:Thank you my brother, advise voters not only to stay behind and make sure every vote is counted but also to document irregularities with their camera and video phones. It would make things easier during the court cases for the cheated candidiate to proove his/her case, because in Nigeria the onus of proof lies in the candidiate and party and not on INEC, the police or the alleged winner. We should help our candidiates win at the courts if it comes to it. |
yomalex:Do not mind the stupid IG, he is behaving as if he is More Nigerian than the voters. We all have equal rights to monitor our votes and ensure the outcome of the election reflect our wishes. |

Since you have no regard for UNIPORT, I believe you will have a lot of respect for Cambridge if they should issue an official statement declaring that they issued WASC to buhari.
