This is not about jealousy, this is about common sense. If it was a white man that said he did it, he would show us adequate proof. He would even provide us his GPS logs. He would write a book or blog. He would provide sight and sounds of the trip.

No wonder Africa is a dumping ground for foreign religions and beliefs, we are ready to believe everything and anything without proof.

The problem with Nigerians in particular and the blackmen in general is that we are prone to wishful thinking, faith and beliefs and emotional ego trip, added to that we lack documentation and writing skills. When an oyinbo embarks on an adventure or exploration, he keeps detail and concise logs to to record his experience and even thought for posterity. But here is a man that claims he treked from Lagos to Abuja with no proof whatsover. No record of his starting point, no record of people he met along the way, no record of challenges like weather, food, water, hygiene, where and how he slept (including how he dealt with mosquitoes and other insects), etc. - Nothing.

The first thing we heard about the journey was that he was already in Suleja and before we knwe it he is in Abuja. He then gave a fanstastic storey of treking from Lagos to Ibadan non stop in 13 hours (starting point in Lagos or end point in Ibadan, he did not say). Route to Abuja he did not say. He said he met armed robbers along the way. I wonder how he knew they were armed robbers, were they in operation at the time he encountered them, or they simply walked up to him and introduced themselves as armed robbers.

To me even if it is true that he walked from Lagos to Abuja, there is no proof backing such claim.

Liar. No amount of revisionist history will alter the truth. Here's what a militant igbo said about the subject:

From the writer's quoted words, it's clear that Igbos haven't learned their lesson. The writer is therein bragging about Igbos dominating Rivers and one day outnumbering the indigenes. This sort of foolish supremacist attitude and tendency is what lands them into trouble with their hosts.

from: http://chatafrik.com/articles/nigerian-affairs/ikwerre-is-is-not-igbo#.VTNWm_SjqhY
Who is this Benjamin Obiajulu Aduba and what qualifies him to be an expert on this subject matter, is he a professor of history? Why not provide us with credible source to know which history has been revisioned.

My wife is Igbo, Nkwerre to be precise. My father Inlaw was a very active participant in the war, so to me his version is very credible to me. My father inlaw was originally from Port harcourt, his father had lots of property in portharcourt but his family was displaced to Imo during the war. After the war, on getting back to port harcourt all the family property were classifified as abandoned property and had been taken over by others.

You will see that the term Nkwerre and Ikwerre are very similar. I was told that they are the same people, but were separated after the civil war. The Ikwerris are in Rivers while the Nwkerres are across the border in Imo.

Abandon property saga had nothing to do with the Ikwerres, infact the Ikwerres lost their ancestral lands to Ijaw, as a result of the abandoned property saga.
Juveniles without any knowledge of History would come here and start spewing rubbish. It was the Ikwerres that lost land as a result of Abandoned property. The Ikwerres lost all their properties in Portharcout to the Ijaws. many fled into Imo state without any thing but the clothes on their backs. And some mofo would came back and accuse the Ikwerres of confiscating Igbo property

You are playing a dangerous game here. Land issues are emotionally explosive issues. If the Yorubas feel threatened by the increased migration of Igbos to Yoruba land, they mights use the same government machinery to destroythe economic leverage and even start reducing the igbo population by deporting them back to their states.

You still don't get it, no body is contesting for ibadan, oshogbo, Akure, Ado Ekiti, abeokuta with you.
Lagos has been developed to a federal capital territory with niger delta money, sweat and hard work of igbos, resources from the north, yorubas can not wake up from their hypocritical hateful slumber and start claiming what they never built.
So you mean you Igbos are contesting Lagos with the Yorubas? Interesting.

It is talks like this that makes Youbas (Lagosians) hostile to igbos. So because Lagos was once a Federal Capital Territory has now made it Igbo land? So anywhere the Federal Government spends oil money automatically belongs to Igbos (as i have not heard any other tribe claiming Lagos)? You are effectively saying no Yoruba built anything in Lagos, or that once someone builts on another persons land, that land automatically belongs to him and his ethnic group.

If you are not blinded by false ego and land grab syndrome, you would realise that all land in Nigeria belongs to the state government (except those acquired and seized by the federal government) and land ownership is only transfered or leased for 100 years, after which it reverts back to the state government. If after 100 years the state government refuses to renew the leases of land acquired by Igbos, it is you people that will call back and cry injustice.

The igbos has to talk to the few crack heads among you, they bring hatred to the whole race.

See classic case of myopia. Just because Jonathan was overwhelmingly rejected by Nigerians despite all the threats from Ijaw militants and their Biafran collaborators, some grieving Ijaws wants to drag in the whole south south into their selfish senseless mission.

Please quit using the term South - South. There are nemerous ethnic tribes within the South South who do not share the supremacist aspiration of the Ijaws and their Biafran collaborators. The Ijaws that are always fighting all their neighbours in order to claim their lands now wants to form political allaince with the same neighbour. The Ijaws want to form political alliance with the Itsekiris, the Benis and the ilajes. What happens to the Kaiama Declarations where you plan to forcefully take all lands bordering the atlantic from rivers to Ondo?

A sensible person would be agitating for true federalism and resource control, where each region (sorry each community) controls its resources and pay negotiated taxes to the federal government and power is devolved from the centre to the states. That would be the perfect solution to the acrimonous power struggle that is attempting to devide the nation.

Believe me if the South - South and South East should form a political unit and the same political structure and imbalance exist as it is today, the acrimony and conflicts would be far worse than what we have today.

You can't just hold back when these mor0ns appear from nowhere to spread falsehood.

If Amaechi was so strong how come that Wike hijacked the party structure from his hands while serving in Abuja and he is the sitting Governor?. undecided

Amaechi is a loud mouthed mofo who doesn't understand that politics is local - I don't need to over flog this issue because he was made speaker by Odili as a 'yes sir man' and after that Odili wanted to handover to him but his wife was against it ( And this is the reason why you must listen to your wife when it comes to sensitive issues - women see beyond simple charade and acted script) Odili listened and handed over to Celestine after much pressure from Obasanjo and some state PDP stalwart. The so-called lion ran to Ghana after running his mouth anyhow and well aware of the consequences of his anti-party behavior ,only for this same Wike to stand up and begged for him, paid for his fucck ups, canvassed for him, sold his personal properties for his sake, went to court for him and brought the same lion back from his self imposed exile and the runaway lion came back and started his nonsense character all over again.

Amaechi is an ingrate and he is going to pay for it - Let him get ready to explain to us how he spent our money and landed Rivers State into multiple debts like Lagos state. grin
I would not descend to the level of exchanging words with immature juveniles with no home training. If they can hurl insults at people older and more successful than their father, then who can they not insult. As the saying goes, never argue with a mad man, people might not know the difference between you and the mad man.

Wike is a nobody, he is only a tool in the hands of the Jonathans. It was not Wike that highjacked the party structure from Amaechi, it was the Jonathans using presidential powers. It was not only Amaechi that the Jonathans highjacked party structure from, other governors that suffered the same fate includes, Timipre Silva and to some extent Uduaghan. Governor Uduaghan could not even get senate nomination from PDP not to talk of getting his candidiate as Governor. So stop giving Wike undeserved accolades.

the real ingrates are Patience Jonathan, Goodluck Jonathan and their house boy Wike, so much was expected of them and they achieved little if anything at all. Madam Jonathan was only interested in being the Overlord of the whole of the South South.

Now that Power is about to change hands, lets see how powerful Wike really is. Lets see if it is Wike that would control the police, the military and DSS. Lets see if Wike can increase Rivers allocations that has been reduced by Jonathan. Lets see if Wike can get back the stolen oil wells from Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa.

As the saying goes what goes around comes around. Wike and Amaechi are about to trade places.

With all these said, Amaechi would always pass as a Judas Iscariot until the philosophy behind his action is justified and time shall tell but right now he is not and can't be said to be projecting the image of the Niger Delta the way you're trying to paint it, if at all that name Niger Delta rings a bell into your ears.

And I'll also be more than glad to know your stand on the North's constant agitation through violence that power must be given to them at all cost unless you're pretending to have been sleeping and not awake to all the happenings in this country during and after Yaradua's time.
Pleaseeee speak for your self. To me and millions of other so called "Niger Deltans" ( To me Niger Deltan is a term coined by the Ijaws to promote their sectional interests and agitations), I prefer to Use the term South South. Amaechi remains a hero and a role model.

Amaechi represent the true south south spirit, like those epressed by Ken Saro Wiwa, Isaac Boro, Nana of Koko, Ebitu Ukiwe, etc. These people fought for what they believe and their people against great odds and triumphed. The South South spirit is not being a boy - boy to the wife of the president. The south south spirit is not being a tool to those in authority. The south south spirit is not betraying your benefactor who norminated you to higher positions and you go back and betray him to curry favour form those in authority.

Amaechi had always fought people with overwelming power and always come out triumphant.
Amaechi fought OBJ and won - He became governor.
Amaech fought patience Jonathan and won - She could not impeach him
Amaechi fought President Jonathan and won - He won the Governor's Forum Chairman
Amaechi fought Mbu and won - He got Mbu transfered out of Rivers State.
He Ultimately fought President Jonathan and won - He was instumental to getting Buhari elected as chairman of Buhari's campaign organization.

Wike victory at the polls was not Amaechi's defeat as it was not Amaechi that was seeking to return as governor. The candidiates of many other sitting governors lost elections. Even Uduaghan could not win the PDP primaries for his prefered candidiate, so what are these PDP sore losers talking about? How many sitting governors support or impose candiates that betrays their benefactors immediately they assume office? Theodore Orji and Willy Obiano easily comes to mind. Even Yaradua and Jonathan sidelined their benefactor (obasanjo) immediately they assumed office, so what is the noise about Dakuku's lose being Amaechi's loss all about?

Amaechi has gone to greater hights, haters can take Oshiomole's advice - Go and Die.

I you are even literate enough to read our Laws, you will know that it is mandatory for the president to declare his assets before assuming office. If the president is required to declare his assets, what is wrong in the president mandating his ministers to declare their assets also?

The president has the powers to appoint his ministers, so he has the discretion to ask for declaration of assets before he norminates them.
Nobody said declaration of assets by ministers would stop corruption, but at least it is an attempt at exposing it. What steps did your mentor GEJ take at reducing corruption by his ministers? To Buhari stealing of public money is corruption.

This Barcanista is just seeking attention. If he had any shame at all he and his cohorts should hide their face in shame, after Buhari defied all their shenanigans and trounced GEJ at the polls.

Now Barcanista has now left fighting for his clan's man (Jonathan) and is now in love with Fayose. Nyoko was impeached, he was not interested, Taraba deputy governor was impeached, he kept quiet. He is now writing a long epistle on Fayose's impeachment process.

If you have a grain of morals at all, you will realize that Speaker Omirin was never impeached and he remained speaker all through the Ekiti saga. Fayose was only using the Police and the army to prevent the speaker and the house from performing their constitutional duty, and at the same time imposing an impostor as speaker. You do not need the court to tell you that in our constitution, 7 members cannot impeach a speaker in a 26 man house. The same way Bipi and his gang of 5 wanted to impeach the rivers state assemby speaker.

Be careful what you advocate for, it might come back and hunt you one day. A day might come when only one or two persons would be impeaching a governor or even the president.

I am certain this is a propaganda by Wike's PDP, it does not make sense for the commissioners to defect on the eve of the governorship elections, if they had wanted to defect it would have been more sensible to defect with the deputy governor before the presidential elections. What do they hope to gain by defecting on election day? they is no way they would be appointed commisioner should Wike win. Even in terms of monetary offers, how much can Wike give them compared with Amaechi.

Amaechi is even in a better position to influence a federal appointment for them.

I take this story with a pinch of salt until it is comfirmed by a credible source.

Nigeria's economy tripled under Okonjo Iweala's reign? Please what are the indices you are using the measure the tripled economy? If you are talking about her first coming, i cannot really argue, but if you are refering to her second missionary journey, then i think you are dreaming. Please compare indices like growth rate, inflation rate, exchange rate, GDP and investment rates (both foreign and local) between when she first came in 2011 and now that she is about to leave. Also read Charles Soludo's assessment of her performance and the fraudulent debasing of our economic to make it seem like our economy suddenly experienced a quantum leap overnight, when all the world bank did was just juggle some figures. If you understand basic economics, then you will understand that Nigeria naturally would be the largest economy in Africa, soley due to our huge population. Nigeria's population is about 25% of that of Africa, so it was not Okonjo Iweala's brillaint economic policies that is responsible for our being the largest economy in Africa. It is like someone crediting Fashola with Lagos being the biggest economy in Nigeria, in fact Lagos economy is bigger that most African countries save South Africa.

I know she is not EFCC, but she should have her fact and figures at the back of her hand. She should know how much Nigeria makes daily and how much is expended by the federal government. She should be able to assist EFCC do their work by showing where money is missing.

Nothing concerns Okonjo Iweala with how states spend their 26% of Federal allocations, her job is to monitor how the federal government spends their 54% of all Federal Government's allocations. If she is clueless on how much money NNPC makes for Nigeria and clueless how the Federal government spends the allocations that passes through her office, how is she to know how much money each state spends.

My experience was like Neo of Matrix. I was flowing with the groove like everybody else, i attended church, bible school and choir practice as a duty like any other christian family. I did not even bother to make sense of the whole thing. I also attended Catholic primary and secondary school and performed all my religious duties as expected. By form 4, i started trying to understand what the whole thing was about, questions like who or what is God, where did he or it come from, where did the world cum the universe come from, etc.

I started attempting to get information from any source i could lay my hands on. I read the Bible cover to cover, i read scientific books, like Astronomy, Biology, pysics, etc. I went into comparative religion to compare Christianity with other world religions, i read archeology, anthropology, paleontology and even world history. I also dabbled into spirituality and occultism. Finally i came to the realization that all religions are just a mind control mechanism. It is like a ponzi scheme to fleet the masses of their money and minds. Just like the matrix, religion is a prison you cannot feel or taste, it is a prison for the mind, once you are imprisoned, there is no escape. Very priviledged people are fortunate enough to escape. Those that try to escape would be persecuted by the system.

So to those who have been able to free their minds, i say Congratulations

This is my problem with Igbos, they do not know how maximize political advantages. Ohaneze should be using the Oba's gaffe to promote their political interest (i still fail to see how Jimi Agbaje represents igbo interests) instead of aggrievating the situation by issuing threats.

What PDP should do is to quickly circulate the said message on all media and try and get sympathy from other tribes and even detribilized yorubas residing in Lagos. This would have been the best time to play the victim card instead of going into agressive mode.

If Ambode and Tinubu does not manage this situation well and dissociate APC completely from the alleged Oba's statements, they might lose the elections due to sympathy votes from non yorubas and even other yorubas.

This clarification from the palace is clafifying that the Oba did indeed threaten Igbos. Now lets look at the sequence of events;
All honorary Eze Ndigbos in Lagos paid a courtesy call to HRM Oba Akinolu.

The visitors praised the Oba for his fatherly support for and cooperation with Igbos in Lagos and assured him of their continued good neighborliness with other tribes in Lagos and support everything that’ll further strengthen that harmony.

The Oba then acknowledged the enviable performance of Governor Fashola and his contribution to the growth of investments in Lagos.]
What concerns Fashola with the meeting, was the meeting called to eugolize Fashola and APC?
He further went on to say that he is not disturbed or angry with South-East and South- South votes for President Jonathan as perceived by the Eze Ndigbos.
Why should he be disturbed or angry with who anybody tribe or region vote for.Afteral Ekiti people voted for Jonathan, even almost half of Lagos voter voted for Jonathan.

T he Oba thereafter called on the Igbos chiefs to show appreciation to Lagos State by supporting his candidate Mr. Ambode for continuity of excellence as they have earlier promised.
So Ambode now equate to Lagos state? What of Jimi Agbaje? he represents Enugu state? So voting Agbaje is showing appreciation to Enugu State

He assured them of his continued support‎ and assistance where needed and the meeting ended with the traditional breaking of kolas, alligator pepper, and bitter kola and pouring of liberation on the ground. It was within this context that that the tradition of Lagos with regard to the lagoon came up. It was noted that whoever works against the throne and the interest and peaceful co-existence of Lagos would end up in the lagoon as per tradition.
This is the part i do not get. Within what context did the Lagoon come up. What concerns Lagoon with Igbos in lagos. So what constitutes working against the throne and its interest? What exactly is the interest of the throne? So according to Lagos tradition, how does someone end up in the Lagoon? He is forcefull thrown into the Lagoon or he magically finds himself inside the middle of the lagoon? Who had suffered this punishment in the past that we can use as reference or had not there been anybody that has worked against the interest of an Oba in the past?

4. Oba Akiolu stated further that the Igbo people have not betrayed the throne. Lagos has also not betrayed the Igbo people. Lagos has done so much to make the Igbos comfortable and to prosper. For this, we expect reciprocal respect and understanding. The Oba of Lagos prays that the Lagoon and the throne will continue to bless and protect all those who reside and visit Lagos.
If the Igbos had not betrayed the Oba in the past, why does he think they would betray the Oba now? How else does the Oba want Igbos to reciprocate respect and understanding to the Oba and Lagos state than by doing their businesses peacefully and lawfully and by paying their taxes?

The Oba should be apolitical, he should not be seen campaigning for one candidiate or party not to talk of issuing direct threats.

You Yorubas led by Tinubu can be troublesome. When Gej wanted to make the speaker of yhe house a Yoruba lady, what did Tinubu do? He kicked against in not knowing hehas a wicked agenda. His mission was to discredit Gej.

So go and ask Tinubu why he refused to allow the Yoruba woman n to be the speaker, rather giving it to Tambuwal...
Go and learn secondary school government, GEJ has no powers to make anyone speaker. It is not an appointive post but an elective one. The perogative to decide who the speaker is lies with the members of the house of representatives.

Your point of observation would not be tenable. Please, argue from the point of Corruption. Bukola Saraki is a criminal who have stolen all the common wealth in his state. If Bukola becomes the Senate President, Fraud and corruption has taken a new dimension in Nigeria.

Sai Koruption.

Sai Nigeria

undecided
Which court declared Bukola Saraki a criminal? In Nigeria an accused is innocent until proven guilty ( at least that was the argument you people presented in comfirming Obanikoro as minister). What about stella Oduah who was elected Senator dispite numerous indictments by the legislature and even the investigative commitee set up by president Jonathan? What about Alams who is a confirmed criminal but is now a senator.

Abeg free Bukola Saraki, if APC senators decides he is to be senate president, there is little you or PDP can do.

Yes,for the sake of fair play.
For the sake of fair play, why did you people not vote in at least one APC senator? Would it be fair for APC senators to vote in a PDP or APGA senator as senate president?
