Just because you work in a private place does not mean they have the right to impose a religious belief on you. That's against the constitution. If you are sacked or punished for not worshipping the way your employer demand, you can seek redress in court. But then Nigeria has become a religious fundamentalist country, where Christians and Muslims tries to impose there religion on others.

Now back to the topic. My son took the common entrance exams also and some of the questions were outrightly stupid. The Paul question was one of them. Most adult Christians don't know where Paul was born. I am sure most students- Christians or Muslim will miss that question. Another question I found stupid was the chairman of the Lagos State Education Board. How many adults in Lagos know the chairman of the education board, not to talk of primary students.

The question on who translated the English bible is a good question to me. I don't know why a Yoruba man would quarrel with such an important aspect of yoruba history. Bishop Ajayi crowder is part and parcel of Yoruba heritage.

MURIC should simply have made its grievances known to the Lagos State education board instead of always causing divisions between Christians and Muslims in Yoruba Land.

The whole essence of education in Nigeria has to be re-evaluated because today we have more educated illiterates than educated literates. Comparing dollar to Naira in Nigeria is totally baseless because we do not spend in dollar locally. The exchange rate is only for cross border transactions. Someone earning $1,000 dollars monthly in the United States is regarded as poor and will barely survive while someone earning 600k monthly in Nigeria is a big boy. Due to the poverty and lack of social security in sub saharan Africa. Most of us need family support just to survive. To feed, school, have a roof over our heads and even treat medical issues, we require the help of close family members - parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. Victor cannot tell us that he got to where he is today without help from any family member. Sometimes the family has to make sacrifices just to push one person out of poverty. It is often expected that the person would help other family members once he or she is made.
But the reverse is now the case with the black man. Once he has made it, he immediately start seeing his immediate family as a burden and an embarrassment . He lives extravagant life and feels happy to see the family he left behind living in poverty. I have seen too many of such examples in Nigeria. In fact most families such situations, whereby one man or woman is a billionaire but his blood brothers and sisters are living in poverty.
This is the main reason we fail to progress as a society, unlike the Jews, Indians and Arabs who make sure their kith and kin succeed along with them.
