DeepSight:It's a known fact that the universe is expanding or inflating. Evidences are abound. Now the end of the universe depends on the quantity of mass/matter it contains. If its beyond a critical value, then the inflation would slow down, stop and then reverse. Eventually it will collapse together once again into a big crunch. |
zimdante:Immortality is a ruse, a meaningless term. Everything including the universe itself will eventually come to an end. You and I will end here on earth like any other animal. |
Perfectbeing:Lagos State Government under the military could no go on an aggressive revenue generation drive. IGRs are generated by states through Pay-As-You-Earn Tax (PAYE), Direct Assessment, Road Taxes and revenues from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA)s. Its a function of population and the amount of commercial activities taking place in the state. Lagos state was already the commercial capital of Nigeria with huge revenue generating potential before Tinubu came in. Tinubu was not the one that built the infrastructures that made Lagos a commercial hob. |
omoiyamayor:The irony is that the religious and political leaders preaching this afterlife enjoyment nonsense are all enjoying their life here and now at the expense of their sheepish followers. |
This is a classic example of speaking from both sides of your mouth; “I am still a strong supporter of Buhari, but in terms of security, I can score this government below average, because one of their major responsibilities is to see that the lives and property of citizens are being guaranteed by the government.” “But as it is now, I can say that the government has failed woefully in that area. Despite the huge resources allocated for security in Nigeria, there is nothing to write home about.” |
Perfectbeing:We are not talking about track record yet, although that track record can be disputed. If we are to compare the track records of all previous governors/ military administrators of lagos state, we would find that Tinubu's 8 year tenure was not extra ordinary. Lagos has been the commercial nerve Centre of Nigeria for decades, it doesn't take much to "perform". Anyway, we are talking about religious sentiments. A Muslim Muslim ticket is insensitive to the political sentiments of most Christians, particularly at this times, where Buhari had polarized the ethnic and religious atmosphere. Does it not stink of hypocrisy when ethnic sentiment was employed to choose the APC flag bearer (Yoruba lokan), but you want Christians to employ competency when it comes to religion. We might as well employ competency to choose a Fulani Fulani ticket or a Yoruba Yoruba ticket. |
Perfectbeing:Tinubu can win next year, afterall elections in Nigeria is won by the better rigger and not on free and fair elections. That still does not mean majority of Christians will support his Muslim/Muslim government. |
desiredhome:Calling a dog a bad name in order to hang it for opposing the policy of your preferred party. CAN is doing what it was set up to do - protect the interest of Christians. MURIC and other Islamic organisations set up to protect muslim interests would have called for violence if APC presented a Christian/Christian candidates for the presidential election. Never in the history of nigeria had there ever been a same religion president/head of state and his vice. Abiola/Kingibe of 1993 elections would have been the first and it was thwarted. 1993 would have ushered in a new Nigeria whereby religion and tribal sentiments were not so important in politics. But that all changed with the introduction of sharia. Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen and now Bandits. Buhari then took the whole tribal and religious new level by Fulanization and islamization of his government. CAN is speaking the minds of millions of Christians. Except Tinubu's lackeys and Muslims, no one is supporting Tinubu's gamble of a Muslim/Muslim ticket. |

Senator Daisy Danjuma was 70 today. The Celebrations kicked off with a thanksgiving service at The Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, with the reception at Eko Conventional Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island. It was a gathering of political big wigs and captains of industry. Notable names were Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ifeanyi Okowa, who all paid glowing tribute to Senator Daisy Danjuma. Numerous former governors, current and past ministers and legislatures graced the occasion. There were excess of food and drinks. Below are some pictures I was able to take.

ATLIEN2027:Are you sure he is an ordained Bishop? who appointed him Bishop and what diocese or province does he bishop? |
Has anyone seen or heard from Bola Tinubu recently? Wicked rumour mongers has it that he has sneaked off to London for his regular rejuvenation.

sanpipita:Not only Dick Cheney. All former republicans presidents presidents and senior members that built the Republican party are now termed RINOs by Trump cult members thet don't support the fascist agenda of Trump. The only qualification for real Republican is blind support of Trump. Imagine a world where President Bush (senior and junior), Dick Cheney, Collin Powell, John McCain, etc are termed RINOS. The only true Republicans are Sarah Palin, Micheal Flynn, Matthew Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Josh Hawley and any one who deny the 2020 presidential elections as rigged. |
Biodun556:He is just playing to the gallery. The only enforceable demand is the removal of the party chairman. But then he should have made the demand privately to Atiku. Now that he took the public route, PDP leaders and members would not like to show that Wike is more important than the party. The other demands are non enforceable. Atiku could have him arrested by EFCC the minute he becomes president. |
Biodun556:These people never seem to learn from history. Once a politician obtains power, there is no way you can enforce any agreement you agreed to or sighed beforehand. Good examples Abacha, OBJ and Jonathan. |
3.1.1: “No broadcast shall encourage or incite to crime. lead to public disorder or hate, be repugnant to public feelings or contain offensive reference to any person or organization, alive or dead or generally be disrespectful to human dignity”; In that case Nairaland should be fined N5 billion. |
Lovenorth:If DSTV should be expelled out of Nigeria, what of ISWAP, Boko Haram and Bandits? Should they not be excelled from Nigeria also? |
mignone:Even if it's private and the conditions spelt out before agreeing to be employed, it is still unconstitutional. The constitution clearly spells out freedom of worship and association and against discrimination based on religion. The agreement is null and void ab initio |
kafeii123:Just because you work in a private place does not mean they have the right to impose a religious belief on you. That's against the constitution. If you are sacked or punished for not worshipping the way your employer demand, you can seek redress in court. But then Nigeria has become a religious fundamentalist country, where Christians and Muslims tries to impose there religion on others. |
Axis313:Muric is not right, the organization is always promoting religious conflicts instead of promoting the welfare and interest of Muslims. I am sure if a major party presented a Christian - Christian ticket MURIC would have called for Jihad. Now back to the topic. My son took the common entrance exams also and some of the questions were outrightly stupid. The Paul question was one of them. Most adult Christians don't know where Paul was born. I am sure most students- Christians or Muslim will miss that question. Another question I found stupid was the chairman of the Lagos State Education Board. How many adults in Lagos know the chairman of the education board, not to talk of primary students. The question on who translated the English bible is a good question to me. I don't know why a Yoruba man would quarrel with such an important aspect of yoruba history. Bishop Ajayi crowder is part and parcel of Yoruba heritage. MURIC should simply have made its grievances known to the Lagos State education board instead of always causing divisions between Christians and Muslims in Yoruba Land. |
ambale:Imagine. Tinubu did not campaign on competency while campaigning for APC presidential candidature, he was able to clinch the ticket with emi lokan. So why is APC now campaigning on the primciple of competency. Christians are also insisting on emi lokan when it comes to the Vice President. |
Litmus:Should the ban by the British Government also extend to Nigeria? Has Nigerian and other broadcast media not been broadcasting the voices and propaganda videos of terrorist groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP in the past? Nigerian governments - both state and federal had been rewarding terrorists with ransome and prisoners swap and even rewarding their members with recruitments into the Nigerian military. Sokoto State even rewarded the same terrorist kingpin shown in the BBC interview with a chieftancy honour. Kadaria did not criticise the Sokoto State or local government, but directs her anger at BBC |
oshozondii:To me this is a subtle threat. What will happen if they rock the boat? His people will start killing southerners? Who are the we that needs to do more? And what is the more we need to do? Carry gun and fight the terrorists? If the commander in chief convoy was attacked and he could not do anything, what more then does he expect ordinary armless citizens to do? |
Splitmind:And thousands of people being killed with millions displaced from their homes while the government seems unconcerned is not national interest |
tempest01:And yahoo boys. If you see the way DSS, Police, EFCC hunt yahoo boys, you would think yahoo boys are more deadly than Bandits, Boko Haram and ISWAP all added together. Instead of Kadaria to attack the most inept government in the history of governance, she is attacking BBC for exposing their ineptude. A case of attacking the messenger while leaving the message. |
BluntCrazeMan:This is not a legal matter, just like football age, it is a moral issue. As long as there is an age declaration affidavit, there is nothing any court can do. Even when Tinubu swore an affidavit that he attended school that was later proven to be false, the courts still did not entertain it. A person vying to be a leader must be seen as a moral standard of the people he intends to lead. In the UK, the prime minister was force to resign for telling a lie not to cover for himself, but to cover for a colleague. It's is annoying that someone you used to refer to as "egbon" suddenly started claiming to be your your "aburo" just because of politics. |
Tingotoe:With a total collapse of security in Nigeria, there's no grounds to impeach the president? With terrorists taking over the highways in and out of the seat of government, Constitutionally there's no grounds to impeach the president? Nigeria is like a ship without a rudder and captain. When was the last time Buhari addressed the nation with all the mass killings and kidnappings? Buhari is the most incompetent president in the whole world. |
DeepSight:No long term strategy for building and managing refineries. The adopted scheme of importing engineers to build the refineries and then having our people just manage them without technological transfer of knowledge would never have worked. We will perpetually depend on them for maintenance at exorbitant and exploitative costs. Then the greed of the average Nigerian can never allow community or nationally owned assets to prosper. |
SecretReporter:Abeg helep me make sense. You import petrol at the landing cost of N600, but you want to buy at 165. Government must subsidise the petrol you use to drive your car with 435/litre. Which 9s now costing close to 7 trillion a year. That's more than half our revenue from petrol. |
Richy986:The topic is on price of petrol in Nigeria in comparison to other countries. 100% of our petrol is imported, so you cannot avoid talking about forex. |
skj1377:That's still about N600. How come Ghanians have not rioted or at least protest against the government due to the increase in price of petrol. They are not even dissing the government and the country on social media. |
Oddfinder01:How can our population be an added advantage when 76 million of us are illiterate and 95 million of us live in poverty?
