ledaman:100% correct. You are the sort of Nigerian I personally can identify as a proper fellow Nigerian because you make it obvious, despite having no love for APC, you are into progress for our nation and her people to the extent you are committed to admitting you have experienced it under an APC government. You'd be surprised at the number of warped Nigerians, even as witnessed on this thread, trying to whitewash the image of Aregbe whose time as Minister of interior came in a period many of us were adult and needing the services under the purview of his Ministry to directly discern he is an abject failure. May God help with how we are the worst, most self-destructive people to be cobbled together in the history of world IMO. No people are bigger and greater enemies of each others progress than Nigerians. This is why I envy nations hosting a people whose homogeneity of socio-economic ideas and desires are above 80% to 100% as it means, whenever those people are ready, they can shape developed nations if they truly desire that. Such will never happen for Nigeria with so many wanting distinctly different things socio-economically, culturally and even in terms of gender equality and so many other ideas. How will a nation that says she wants progress host a group advocating rehabilitation of terrorist and genocidal killers while another insist they must be punished and crushed? Are those not indicators those two starkly contrasting opinions means the folks in the two groups above should preferably lead themselves and not others? Unless we all fight for more decentralisation of power and processes, leading to the rights to go and lead ourselves at regional level, Nigeria will never make great and sustainable progress. It will always be two step forward in 'one Nigeria' under a progressive President and ten steps backwards under a regressive President. Whereas people who are progressive generally should lead themselves always and ditto for those who wish to be regressive and backwards always. |
Penguin2:Bro, how can you talk like this? Thought you were a realist who, regardless of political affiliation, defers to the true state of affairs in our nation. Of course the North, their leaders specifically, value power more than the security of Northerners. Is it Tinubu or GEJ's fault many Northerners are in IDP camps? You talk of solutions to mass hunger, who made Northerners 87% of the most poverty-ridden Nigerians alive and the people with some of the worst human development index in the entire world if not their callous leaders like Atiku who lives in beautiful and shiny Dubai preferentially, and away from the 'eyesores' poverty of the North, to then show up every four years demanding to be President of all Nigerians? If he genuinely loves and values Northerners should he not be on ground, every single day, using his considerable wealth and influence to seek solutions for his people and region? You think leaders who can leave Northerners in the pathetic state they are in today, as by far the worst of Nigerians, care about progress for ordinary folks? If they can do what we have witnessed them do to their own people for several decades now, and effectively reduce them to docile almajiri only of value during elections, does it appear to any sane person that Northern leaders care about anything or anyone other than power? Even you, as one of the more objective critics of Tinubu, will appreciate deep down that Nigeria will never get significantly better under a Northerner because what the Northerner below, residing in The USA, reveals is what Northern leaders are sworn to defend and retain forever. Northern leaders will always be gradualist, Conservative, unprogressive and anti capitalist-leaning whether deliberately, in the case of Buhari, or reluctantly by leaders like Atiku who could not stand his ground to defend Deborah and condemn what happened to her so as not to offend the consensus conclusion of the North . Most Northern leaders are not interested in progressive reforms or changes. Those who are, like Dogara and Shehu Sani etal, will not be allowed to deliver them because they will be attacked and demonised by unprogressive fellow Northerners who happen to be in the majority. It is why proper and enduring progress can only happen under a Southern President and the reason rotation must be fastidiously observed with the South allowed her full 8 year without hijack of power from the born-to-rule imperialist from the North who always demand power but have no interest in using such well and to the benefit of all Nigerians beginning with their own people. Personally, if full and irreversible regional autonomy had arrived, I am.100% sure no Yoruba will be interested in who is or who is not Nigeria's President ever again so far as we have total freedom from 'one Nigeria' regression to go and develop our region precisely how we want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEczxfZ1s7Q?si=jTIzPcKF7L_MRbY0 |
toffyz:Walahi I love Umahi die. Does not talk much and let's his work speak for him. He is a star performer in Tinubu's government. I wish the best for him in future and beyond his time as Minister. You are right also with the astute observation of how he is now persona non grata to his own kinsmen for doing well under Tinubu's government. Can you imagine the ridiculousness of Nigeria as a nation whereby performers, making all our lives better, can be disregarded because they are performing for the "wrong government" some wish discredited by all means and then deposed because of ethno-religous hatred? These are the sort of realities that has made me a passionate supporter of regional governance so that this with homogeneity of socio-economic ideas and desires can go and lead themselves. 'One Nigeria' is failed system that will never work given the mindset and character if Nigerians. |
Lol. The more they use spon, lies and propaganda the the more they humiliate themselves. How can anyone try to whitewash the humongous failings of Aregbe in a critical sector providing services all Nigerian adult may seek to ise at one time or the other? Unfortunately for Aregbe, His woeful performance as Interior Minister is very easy to verify because Nigerians are the direct end users of services Aregbe incompetently failed to deliver. No dubious reportage , full of lies and fabrications, cobbled together by Aregbe's shameless minions, can mask the monumental failings of Aregbesola. All that needs to be done is for anyone to organise a Q and A session with 50 randomly chosen ordinary Nigerians on our streets and seek their answers about services they received under Aregbe, in 8 years, compared to their experience under Tunji-Ojo in less than 2 years. I can bet any money not a single Nigerians, of the 50, who will not curse Aregbesola bitterly and vehenemently to then praise Tunji-Ojo copiously and profusely. That is how massive the difference is that no spin, lies or propaganda can distort. |
Amitex:Oga please stop this madness. You are not intelligent enough to be practicing spin and propaganda, using subjective and outrightly deceptive reportage, written by compromised minions, against real experience Nigerians went through. Is it me who, out of frustration, gave up trying to get a passport under Aregbe, yet got same in two weeks under Tunji-Ojo, you want to use your rudimentary BS spin on? Do you even know how Tunji-Ojo has revolutionised passport issuance in Nigerian commisions worldwide whereas under Argebe it was always fights, noise and virtually all out war at the Nigerian high commision in london for example? E-Gates and many other measures nko? All this in under 2 years while wasteman Aregbe only ignobly took cartel 'cash out' operation of the Ministry of interior to a crazy level in 8 years at the expense of ordinary Nigerians. Guy park well. This is not a joke. Stop the redundant and offensive spin. Sometimes it is classy to remain silent. |
DeLaRue:Bro, na so we see am OOO. To me, as a fairly exposed person, I firmly believe Nigeria host the most warped and damaged electorate in the world. A people who can never think critically to see the big picture and forever remain prone to whitewashing the images of failures of 8 years (Obi, Malami and Aregbe for example) to be touting them as messiahs simply because they hate the ethno-religious, politcal or sectional background of those in office never minding that they are doing a great job. Nigeria is a mentally-draining nation because of the aberrant character of Nigerians. |
DeLaRue:Well-said. Many Nigerians are incapable of focusing on what matter because of nothing other than ethno-religious and sectional bigotry against others. Imagine Dino Melaye, of 50 Ferraris and 20 Lamborghinis, now posing as a "saviour" on a mission to "rescue" Nigerians? |
Lifestylecom:Great and issue-based comment from Wike. I have made this same point countless times. How can those who say they are on a rescue mission be far inferior and hideously incompetent in comparison to those they wish to remove from office? Aregbe is a prime example. Unless we wish to lie to ourselves, Aregbe heaped misery, tears and pain on Nigerians in 8 years as Interior Minister. Woeful public administrator and one of the worst ever who should not even show his face in Nigerian politics again, if he has shame, considering how Tunji-Ojo has disgraced him. Tunji-Ojo, in a year only, reversed all the damage Aregbe did and started by clearing a backlog of hundreds of thousands of un-issued passport. We shouted tirelessly for e-gate that Ghana has had for several years, and the world has been using for two decades now, yet Aregbe feigned ignorance so his boys and girls in immigration can continue "meet and greet" extortion of Nigerians and foreigners at our international airports. Today we have e-gates and much more courtesy of Tunji-Ojo. These are the issues Nigerians must focus on because citizen of serious nation of the world, where politics is always about effective service delivery for the people, do not swap spectacular success for abject failure. Wike is a fine example too. The way he moves may not be to everyone's taste but no one can deny, in two.years, he is already the best FCT Minister ever. These are the reality that should matter to Nigerians and not whether Wike has beef with Atiku or whether Aregbe mocks Tinubu publicly. We should never lose sight of what matters if a politically sophisticated people who judge political leaders on what truly matters. I.e their performance and impact in our lives |
richmond500:How is is it wrong for Wike to highlight what a huge failure Aregbesola was, in 8 years as Interior Minister, in comparison to his successor Tunji-Ojo who had delivered countless solutions in 1 year the unbelievably incompetent Aregbe will never be able to do even if in office for 50 years? Is it not right to show Nigerians factually that they must never swap unprecedented success with abject failure? Aregbe and co tout themselves as "saviours". Should their sordid record.and gross failings in public office not be exposed so Nigerians know to avoid them? Wike's message is timely and spot-on because in politics, same as shopping in the market, it should always be "caveat emptor". Buyers beware. Nigerians should not use their thumbprint to go and buy bad and rotten market for themselves. |
Nauseating and diva-like response from Momodu when he should have remained silent than put this cringeworthy retort in the public space. The term "drama King" really suits Momodu and his ilk . |
DMerciful:Okay. Not a big deal. We will see what happens. |
DMerciful:They can't. Not with Atiku in my opinion. The Northerners who are not talking, yet are influential, are more important than those making noise and showing face, whereas their real influence is limited, like Sule Lamido, El Rufai, Malami, Babachir Lawal, Had Sirika etal. Look below to understand there are many Northerner, in office and in powerful positions, thinking like Yakasai. The mistake Nigerians make, especially those very desperate for Igbo Presidency, is giving too much 'alagbara' credit to loud, loquacious and attention-seeking Northerners , with Malami and El Rufia being classic examples, whereas the most influential Northerners, like Kwankwaso for example, are the very opposite of those things by nature. https://www.nairaland.com/8467791/obis-one-term-presidency-not-sellable Others Prefer Tinubu Finishes Two Terms |
DMerciful:They did not have the numbers to remove GEJ in 2011? Incumbency is an advantage not to be sniffed at. |
Lol. I only just refreshed the pages here to see the thread shown below where a Northern leader says precisely what I stated above. I.e Obi's Presidential ambition, at the expense of the North, will appeal to no Northerner. Non at all. We dey laff at the naivete of our SE brothers. Played again. 😁😅 https://www.nairaland.com/8467791/obis-one-term-presidency-not-sellable |
Odin13:Ogbeni, who is "we're"? You are an Igbo man and never a Northerner. Wake up. Ben Kalu's bill to remove State of origin from our citizenship failed. Nothing for you. |
Ikaeniyan0:Bruv, let us begin 30 days fasting and prayers so, by some madness or miracle, Obi gets the ADC ticket. By 12.00 on election day, Tinubu will be announced winner because only Obi's people are sentimental enough to not understand that not one political, religious or cultural Northern leader will direct their blindly devoted fans to vote Obi as that carries a risk of a further 8 years out of power for the North than 4 years. Power is all the North Live for and they feel unwell, incomplete and naked without it. Unlike other regions, the North is most scared of being without power for too long because they know the warped 'one Nigeria' system favours them most . Meaning the longer they are out of power the greater the chance of a stubborn and radical non-Northern President doing away with a redundant system feeding the indolent and unprogressive North to the detriment of others. They know this well and it is their greatest fear. Northerner are never prompted to vote for the progress of Nigeria. They are led to vote to safeguard a win for who/what is in the best interest of the North and how they wish to continue living Northerners are always teleguided to vote and those teleguiding them (Emirs, Imams, Sultans, Alhajis, clerics, Governors, Senators etal) will never endorse Obi knowing such carries a risk of 8 more years without power for the North. Obi is best for us Jagaban fan who wants baba to even be on holiday in Barbados on election day in relaxation mood over an election done deal victory over the Agulu charlatan. |
Lol. Ogundamisi dey lamba the most lamba-gullible Nigerians. Please make Obi ADC candidate and pair him with any Northerner. Let us see if any Northern political, religious or cultural leader will direct their devotees to vote Obi so that North can be out of power for another 8 year from 2027, making 12 in total since Buhari left, rather than jejeli manage Tinubu so that the North, 100% guaranteed, can be back in power in 2031 rather than 2035. |
Sannisege:100% correct. I cannot believe some are even taking this silly news seriously. Does the North only consist of Atiku or is his ambition more important than that of literally thousands of Arewa leaders? Very influential leaders as well, with many in powerful offices currently, who would be happy for Tinubu to finish his remaining 4 years, so they get 8 years on behalf of the North, rather than messing with the tricky and unpredictable outcome of an Atiku or Obi Presidency. ADC will realise the huge task ahead once the dust settles.. |
RightChannel:Lol. PDP has already replied, quickly and comprehensively, the "hallucinations" that the desperate Try to read and comprehend fully before responding. It is hallucination – PDP |
gidgiddy:Grow up. You wish to secede? First get your fat, lazy and corrupt legislators to fight uncomprisingly for constitutional amendment to facilitate a secession clause as Awolowo trid to do. Even if they fail, at least the world will view you people as a sincere ethnic group who, at all levels, are unitedly agitating for secession. What is ludicrously comical is how your sort come here daily blaming all other Nigerians for "not letting Igbos go" to then surrender yourselves to the control and machination of hate preachers like Kanu and Ekpa. Yet, hypocritically, you see nothing wrong in how your elected leaders, like Abaribe, continue to collect hefty Nigerian salary and emolluments while pretending to be completely ignorant of your agitation for Biafra they have the legislative power to fight for if genuinely, devotedly and sacrificially committed to the actualisatiom of Biafra. Nigerians have long seen through your insincere, confused, contradictory, incoherent and emptily gaslighting noise/push for Biafra so kindky go and sit your ass down my friend. |
GodPunishOsu:Dont mind him. They are the only people on earth with so much hatred for Yorubas to the extent of falling disgracefully far short of the ethos of "give credit to whom it is due". Universally, and without question, it is accepted that Fela is a global icon of brave, selfless and uncompromising defiance against brutal dicatatorship. Yet, only the hateful lot from the SE will say otherwise as if history , that some Nigerians alive today lived through, can be re-written or forgotten. Ditto their obsession with demonizing Awolowo who is acclaimed one of the greatest leaders to emerge from Africa because of how pivotally emancipating and transformational his policies and initiatives were. Like Free education etal. Meanwhile, same people continue to worship Ojukwu who led them to their demise, by brainwashing them that It is "Biafra or death", only to flee the war he caused leaving others to die. To rub salt in the wound, Ojukwu then had the cowardly temerity to return to Nigeria , after being pardoned, to vie for the presidency of same nation he insisted it was a matter of life or death for Igbos to separate from. Till today they still love, praise and deify him, reserveing all their hate and toxicity for Awolowo alone. Whereas the world sees in Ojukwu an egostistic, cowardly and vainglorious man who threw his people under the bus for personal greed and ambition. How can a people be so warped to carry the same self-destructive behaviour and self-constricting burden for more than six decades now, beginning with Azikiwe sabotage of secession clause and Kaduna Nzeogwu "Igbo coup"? Yet they cannot ever work out that there is another way to do things, if they are truly progressive and seeking socio-economic advancement and happiness, that should not involve the effort to hate, fight and oppose others to a standstill always and unproductively. This is where Yorubas are vastly superior to them. We are not saints and have our own issues. Yet, being focused on progress and development for our region and nation always, and far more than anything else, means we get most things right and always land on our feet. In stark contrast to those who historically fail and and suffer always because covetous dominance over others , rather than progess for all, is what motivates everything they do. Leaving them to be the greatest haters of those they percieve as been the greatest impediment to the bolded above. I.e the Yorubas. Azikiwe went to his grave hateful of Yorubas because we did not allow him and his ethnic group to dominate us in oyr land whereas we are never interested in the opposite . I.e attempting to subjugate of dominate others in their land. Today, look at the conduct of most Igbos highlighted by their offensive shenanigans of "we own Lagos and have dominated lazy and unambitious Yorubas in their land". Can you say it is different to the approach of their forefathers like Azikiwe and Charles Onyeama who proclaimed, 80 yearss ago way back in 1945 , "Igbo domination of Nigeria is only a matter of time” ? |
plessis:Lol. It is talk like this that show you guys are in your own world of altenative thinking different to that sane folks operate with. All you cited above are not indicative of bravery. They are damning indictment that Kanu has mental problems. The Fela, that all Africans love and deify, you now try to discredit never changed tune in incarceration to be claiming "content creator" as Ekpa did. He never did the nauseating volte-face show of cowardice we witnessed from Kanu who initially denied being a member of IPOB after he was arrested. Fela was always defiant, consistent and uncowered by incarceration. That is why, till today, he is cannonized as Africa's own Che Guevara, beyond Nigeria, with you people being the lone Africans to say otherwise because of hatred for his ethnic group. Same way you continue to demonize Awolowo till today the entire world proclaim one of the most transformational leader in the history of Africa ever. You guys really need to take a long and honest look at yourselves in the mirror now and then. |
gidgiddy:Lol. I have always told you to enrol on a night course for primary school level education because you lack basic comprehension skills even a 9 year old has. My point is that Yorubas are sane, wise, intelligent and law-abiding. We know those who are the opposite of the above to then be prone to always putting the cart before the horse and failing time and time again while continously thumping chest shouting "bravery". Whereas others see them as the personification of insanity because we are aware of the adage that "insanity is doing things the same way over and over again to then expect different outcomes". Why do you think Awolowo, a brilliant and visionary Yoruba leader, pushed for the inclusion of a secession clause in our constitution that the cunning, conspiratorial, covetous, expansionist and ethnic supremacist Azikiwe schemed to frustrate? Why did Awolow and co not just form an IPOB-like grouo like Igbos have been doing for decades with MASSOB etal enroute to the lunacy that has nkw taken over thrbSE today? If is because Awolowo fully understands, as his fellow wise and law-abiding Yorubas accept till today, that no region can secede if such is outlawed by our Constitution. It is an exercise in futility. It is the patent lawlessness of you guys that will never a)low you to accept the futility of chasing secession without moving for constitutional change as Awolowo noted and tried to achieve, Whereas the Yorubas have the wisdom, sincerity, intellect and vision to note that regional autonomy, that is feasible and Nigeria has hosted before , is secession in all but name and with far more socio-economic advantages than the balkanisation option you people continue to chase myopically and self-destructively. |
Clearly Pastor Bolaji Idowu is a confused rogue who has a warped and dishonest view of what reality, worldwide, presents Yoruba as. Pointless therefore addressing his rant. I leave that to insecure Yorubas who will ignore the stupendously and exemparily laudable reality of Yorubas worldwide, that is unequalled by any ethnic group in Nigeria, and arguably even Africa, to then allow their minds be hijacked and gaslit by ignorant, sinplistic and fallacious idiocy. It is the talk of the delusional Afenifere loser shown below , with his vehement support for the utterances of the delusional Pastor Idowu, that merits a response. The Afenifere youth leader claimed that Yoruba people were afraid to come forward and openly express what they want.It is obvious Afenifere's Eniola Ojajuni assumes we are all like him. An unexposed, ignorant and 'local champion' rabble-rouser who simplistically thinks seccession, as touted by myopically hateful folks like Nnamdi Kanu, who never thinks things through properly, is the model Yorubas too must follow blindly. Whereas the pragmatic and critical-thinking Yorubas have noted the failed secession approach of Igbos to then understand same is not an option for us because (1) secession is constitutionally outlawed and destined to fail regardless of any foolish and misguided Nzogbu Nzogbu civilian-led balkanisation putsch. Obvious too is the fact that (2) secession, as clamoured for by Igbos, is logically senseless and will leave balkanised Niations of Nigeria worse off. Igbos are a people who make majority of their money from trading and selling theoughout Nigeria. With total seperation, granting Igbo Biafra, the rules automatically change and will end access of Igbos to the markets of Nigeria. Same as UK companies, that enjoyed seamless trade with their fellow European nations, while in the EU, are now distressed and dying today because of a misguided push for 'independence' driven by a primordial and myopic belief that "foreigners are 100% the cause of our problem and preventing our greatness". Yorubas are intellectually sound, pragmatically wise and measured. The most intelligent, like those who drafted the DAWN SW regional integration 'road map', saw what Britons could not see when they foolishly jettisoned the EU to be in self-inflicited isolation and ocio-economic malaise today as the Igbos similarly want to misguidedly destroy themselves with today. Our large population, diverse ethnicity and relatively big geographical space are asset that, if managed well using a governance system that allows all regions to grow to their greatest capacity, can make Nigeria spectacular. Yorubas know that we simply need to bin 'one Nigeria' and embrace regional autonomy. as simple as that. We all lose with the balkanisation of Nigeria because what strengthens and empowers us socio-economically will be gone overnight. Take the myopic Igbos and their hate-driven noise of Biafra. It they gain Biafra then commonsense show they will become a far more vulnerable and greatly less economically endowed model of the UK now struggling because of lack of seamless access to the Eurozone the United Kingdom previously took for granted. In Biafra, Igbos, traders by nature, would have to survive selling to Igbos only as they would lose access to uncountable millions of buyers in Nigeria that is now a seperate country and would surely have similar "economically harmful importation" trade barriers againt Biafra as she has against all other African nations in effort to ensure we do not have destructive trade deficits with our African fellow nations. With the above, if intelligent, it would have been clear to Eniola Ojajuni of Afenifere that what Igbos are doing is myopic, self-destructive and driven by the sort of hatred of others that leads a man to cut his own nose believing he is spiting his face. It is not "bravery". What Yorubas are doing, rejecting the call for outright seperation by a few like Ojajuna, in preference for regional autonomy, is never "cowardice". It is a show pf wisdom, pragmatic intelligence and winning decision-making predicted on analytical, disspasionate and objective analysis of reality that shows possible outcomes, successes and failures.choices made can bring. Yorubas understand that Nigeria simply need to follow the US example, as we already practice same political system.with them, whereby American States have their own constitutional, police forces and, most importantly, decent freedom and latitude over their own socio-economic direction and degree of success while still being able to leverage on and call upon the great strength that is the combined power of the 50 States of the USA that has made the country the greatest nation on Earth. All I discern with Eniola Ojutana's misguided rants is the folly, because good men hesitate to get involved, of allowing the dumbest and most emptily rabble-rousing Yorubas gain podiums they can stand on to be assaulting our collective intelligence and awareness with their unexposed, intellectually-deficient and locak champion garbage. Yorubas cannot be like Igbos who allow glorified illiterates and uncouth hate-preacher, like Kanu and Ekpa etal, to cower world class professors and ecomomic development analysts to then be the unelected leaders of a region culminating in SW becoming like the SE that is today a tragedy of irresponsible followership of the vehemently loudest and most hateful few at the expense of the most brilliant and visionary in society. |
Forkthiefnubu:No wahala. Greater decentralisation of power and eventual regional automony is inevitable. Once regional autonomy has arrived for us all, kindly remember the bolded in your post so that you and all your Brethren head to Zamfara, Borno, Bauchi, Yobe etal, towards your "natural allies", and stay away from the SW that is full of your "natural enemies". Deal? |
Accurate and thought-provoking article. Still, it says things all sensible Nigerians know which is that ADC will be shunned by most balanced voters as it is 95% a congregation of the same.desperados who have ruined Nigeria over three decades parading themselves as saviours today. Electorally, we will see Stay-at-home apathy from voters convinced it is worthless voting for APC or ADC. We will also witness protest votes going to a third force character as many Nigerians ,who may be against voting for APC, cast their vote for other Parties and not ADC they will rightly and correctly view as unelectable because it is a den of same ruinous and leprous hands that have destroyed Nigeria in the past showing face to 'lamba' Nigerians. 2027 will be interesting but I see ADC losing woefully because the APC has nearly two years to present to the voting public plentiful and readily available material that discredits virtually every member of the Even a child will know the folly of throwing out the wonderful Tunji-Ojo, current Minister of interior, to vote ADC that hosts Aregbesola who is the former and worst Minister of interior ever and heaped untold misery and pain on Nigerian during hia tenure. It is on. Let the games begin !!! |
AMINDA:Eh ya. Pele. E pain small ba? No one has ever declared loyalty like this for Obi, not even one, whereas easily a thousands can come forward today to do what Al Makura has demonstrated for PBAT. Ndo. No be Obi fault. He cannot give what he does not have lol. |
CoronaVirusPro:Guy, you might be on to something here you know. Walahi !!! Thinking about it, there might actually be a case for Atiku holding the global record for the candidate who has contested presidential election using the highest number of different political Parties possible. How many Politicians, globally, if one thinks about it, move Parties more than three times in comparison to the 5 or 6 platforms Atiku has used over decades now? |
Like father like son. Chameleon-like and duplicitous. Getting old and stale though. |
