When Nigerian jubilate after Endor of tax reform, u forgotten this will prongs?? 1million self go soon joins
Put bias aside and try to see the big picture. No nation can grow optimally without efficient tax collection because that would suggest citizens want the Government to provide everything for them free.

Not possible. The new tax reform laws are badly needed and come at the right time cto ompliment the ambitions of a Government that wants to utilise everything possible to accelerate the socio-economic growth and development of Nigeria.

Does not mean everything with it will be perfect. Tweaks can be made to tackle contentious developments or actions. 5 million is too small to report. They can work on a more appropriate sum in consultation with a cross section of stakeholders.

Besides, discretion would apply too for business etal. Yet, overall, it is the right move to bring in a a single deposit threshold for private citizens. Same exist in virtually all developed nations of the world.

As if virtually all Yorubas today do not now know this is your real motivation rather than desire for good governance of Nigeria.

I.e the ousting of "Yoruba President" by any means possible and using any devil available. You will see whether Obi will have any Obidient Yoruba left in 2027.

Yorubas who backed Obi in 2023 were previously deceived the Obidient fight was for Good governance of Nigeria.

Aren't you people ashamed of this same discredited story? Everything is now Wike's fault?

El- Rufai has suddenly becomes a saint after he joint coalition against Tinubu. How can one judge 2 years wike performances to 8 years Rufai performances as FCT ministers show how many Nigerians are not honest in their inner mind.
Indeed. Nigerians can be evilly dishonest, enough to deny the undisputable, when bias against others is involved.

Yes Wike's leadership style is not to everyone's taste. Granted. Yet Abuja folks themselves, the real stakeholders we must all defer to, are united praising him for the positive impact he is making through his commendable solutions-provision across the FCT.

My Aunt has lived in Abuja for more than 30 years now. She had and raised all her children there. She went there in her early twenties as a low level civil servant. Today she insist Wike is best FCT Minister ever.

She would know also because, aside being a resident, she is now at a very senior level in the Nigerian civil service.

It would take a very emotional, irresponsible character ,with no respect at all for what all political leaders should hold as sacrosanct, i.e commendable service of the people, to come out with what Ireti Kingibe did.

Better she kept her mouth shut but she can't because they are all mad Wike, correctly I must add, labelled Aregbe a huge failure, as Minister of Interior, in comparison to Tunji-Ojo.

They know Wike is implying the leaders of the ADC are all proven failures and the thing dey pepper dem. Meaning they feel duty bound to counter Wike's attempt to control, with a negative tint, the narrative of ADC.

From now, we can now expect more of this Ireti-style ridculous damage limitation idiocy from them.

100% correct. Wike is less than 2 years in office as FCT Minister. Even then, I can bet any money he has done far more in his time in office than El Rufai did in a comparative time frame.

This talk from Ireti Kingibe only comes because Wike has correctly beamed the headlight on the failures parading themselves as "rescuers" of Nigeria when he destroyed Aregbe comparing his abject failure over years as Minister of Interior while his successor Tunji-Ojo, an appointee of Tinubu, has been nothing short of spectacular in under 2 years.

Politics › Re: Naira Decouples From Oil As Confidence In Nigerian Reforms Grows - Bloomberg by WizardOfNG: 7:48am On Jul 09, 2025
nairalanda1:
I still think the naira is linked to oil though, so I disagree with Bloomberg.

The thing is, we got to stop relying on oil for most of our government revenue
That is part of the plan and we are seeing the result today, which the report actually highlights below, even if gradual and not spectacularly obvious.

That is normal given we had a lot of catching up to do considering where we were in 2023 when Tinubu took over. I.e largely import dependent with low government interest in growing our export capacity through improved industrialisation, manunfacturing, adherence to world best practices in product development ect, etc.

The change in the naira’s fortunes can be attributed to its undervaluation, higher non-oil exports and lower import demand,
With oil, the Tinubu government is getting it right as it is not "dependent" on oil as you state but rather focuse on using oil, the right way, to stimulate our accelerated economic development.

In a world moving away from fossil fuel as a source of energy, and considering Nigeria’s dwindling crude reserve, this is the time, with delays capable of being very damaging to us, we must maximise on the national profit derived from our oil endowment

The only way to so that is by operating in the most profitable end of oil sale which is that of refined derivative of crude like PMS etal rather than continue to export crude alone to then buy imported imported PMS, for domestic daily consumption, from others that our goverment then subsidize to make it "affordable".

We mere merely impoverishing ourselves and trapping our people in a self-destructive and crippling cycle of stagnation and under-development doing that.

We have been economically crippled for decades now because no Government has had the discipline, love of Nigeria and/or unshakeable poitical will to do what must be done to wean us of fuel subsidy, a scam benefting the tiny elite class but clandestinely impoverishing ordinary Nigerians, so that our Nation starts approaching the economic glory her endowment indicates she and her people deserves.

Tinubu is a great leaders for those who can see and appreciate the big picture to then support what must be done.

I can appreciate that several reforms are very burdensome to Nigerians and, naturally, many will be unhappy because it is somewhat a stark departure from what they knew.

Yet, as is the case with a dedicated and loving father, great leaders must deliver tough love to ensure the best future interests of those who will detests them initially but be eternally grateful to them in future.

Same with how we all cannot stop paying homage to strict and devoted parents , we resented when young, yet realised later were the difference between us becoming successful and productive members of society instead of yahoo boys, drug addicts, criminals, prostitutes etc.
Politics › Re: Naira Decouples From Oil As Confidence In Nigerian Reforms Grows - Bloomberg by WizardOfNG: 7:14am On Jul 09, 2025
Expected announcement to the informed who understand what Tinubu’s reforms will achieve i.e take us to levels of development we have never reached before after we endure the 'teething pain' that are unavoidable side effects of major reforms.

Fuel subsidy removal, for example, is today being justified with the macro-economically beneficial results being seen currently since the Government is no longer majorly engaged in the near 100% import of PMS, to cater for domestic consumption, it previously needed forex to purchase.

With more private refineries coming on board in the next few years, and even assuming Nigerian refineries will not work optimally, PMS import will be totally flat or dead in five years.

PMS Export will increase, making Nigeria a player in the luxcative end of oil sale which is export of the refined derivatives of crude.

Job availability will increase also because of greater profitable involvement of Nigerians in the deregulated downstream oil sector.

Nigeria would also be cumulatively richer, with beneficially more income flowing in from greater private sector involment in the oil sector while Government too derives more oncome from taxing private sector plays in oil refining etal.

End result is that we would be lmovjng towards forever leveraging more of our socio-economic growth and development, as is desirable, on the private sector as obtains worldwide.

This will see us gradually rid ourselves of the self-destructive quasi-socio capitalism stucture we pretended to be running which is, in reality, the worst form of communism tht leaves a large number of our 230 million citizens begging-bowl dependent on government through numerous subsidies, welfare 'interventions' etc, etc

Meaning Government never gets rich enough to provide more for us and we never get rich enough to provide much more for ourselves. The result being the vicious cycle of crippling underdevelopment we have been trapped in for decades now.

We must think in years, rather than months, so we are able to support several reforms working convergently ( like floating of the Naira, removal of subsidy on power, education etc) if Nigeria is to begin approaching the level of development reached by developed nations most of our people will japa to today if given the choice.

Politics › Re: My Advice To ADC Coalition by WizardOfNG: 1:26pm On Jul 08, 2025
richmond500:
There is something unsettling about the coalition and it the ADC new anthem "I will do one term." I am not sure if this is the work of the opposition or just selfish political interests but this thing will be the foundation on which the coalition will eventually be destroyed.
On the day when politicians adopted the coalition, a lot of people welcomed the idea, many people rush to register making the party's website to crash. But less than 48hrs after ADC was adopted, the new phrase of "I will do one term" came. While many people are tired of Wike and Tinubu govt, it was obvious that people are beginning to see the coalition as hijack mission than a rescue mission.
They phrase is demarketting the coalition but politicians with their ego won't see it.
This is how I see it, when politicians and their supporters are invested in winning the party's ticket and not about rescuing Nigeria, it will raise concerns about the real intention of the coalition and within the coalition, cracks will emerge, Obidients will want Obi to win, Atikulators will want Atiku to win. Amaechitos will root for Amaechi but at the end there will be one hijacker and alot of losers, those losers will rather have their pound of flesh than support the other candidate.

My advice for the coalition is to root and campaign for unity than selfishness.
They should act fast or see the party get destroyed
The bolded is DOA. Virtually all members of ADC are Predatory and desperate Vultures, waiting to feast on the carcass of others. They cannot give what they do not have individually or collectively.

Datti Baba-Ahmed has already done a brilliant analysis of issues to tell ADC they will fail against Tinubu because they cannot be as selfless, visionary and as disciplined as Tinubu was in pursuit of his ambition.

He cited how Tinubu gave his ACN platform to Atiku and then Ribadu onward to collapsing same mighty ACN into the APC to then help Buhari become President after three previous futile efforts.

Datti's conclusion was that ADC will likely fail if it does not have members willing to sacrifice for the greater good of Nigeria they claim they wish to rescue.

If you get to 50 and are not visionary or selfless in politics, then you never will be at over 60 which is the case with all the ADC popular candidate who predictably will tear themselves apart since each is focused solely on his own ambition and not what must be done to get ADC the win.

Selective amnesia is worrying you
What do you say to your support for Jonathan in 2011
Was it not the turn of the North then?
Is Tinubu dead or comatose? Every sane Nigerian, myself included and even Tinubu, support GEJ in 2011 because the death of Yar Adua put GEJ is a position most believed was his right to use to seek at least a term as President.

GEJ did not hijack power that belonged to the North, as Atiku etal are trying to do now, because providence put him in power and not dishonourable disregard for others..

Whereas same temperament did not endure in 2015 when GEJ has had 5 years in power and many were looking at the reality of another 4 year for GEJ being problematic since North would have been out of power for 9 year.

There was the real worry of the North becoming increasingly predisposed to using disruptive tactics, like terrorism etal, against Nigeria once they are united in believing they are being cheated of their birthright by the South . That is the cold, brutal truth those who are not pragmatic or critical-thinking will never understand.

This is why Tinubu and many Southerners worked agaunst GEJ in 2015 whereas they tacitly supported him in 2011.

Today, plot by some Northerners to remove a Southern President has begun early with no consideration for the damage such will do to the very fragile unity of Nigeria that, once the SW no longer believes in upholding, can quickly unravel overnight into unpredictably dangerous territory.

My main point is that if some say Tinubu will not continue , from the point of poor performance, then next election must be open to Southerners alone and no Northerner. Especially not a Fulani.

If some Northerners are not supremacists and born-to-rule imperiallists , as some of us insist they are, that should not be a difficult sacrifice for them to make to preserve the unity of 'one Nigeria' they benefit from the most.

Lol. Let us now watch as Momodu, a hero of the Obidient movement yesterday when he was constantly attacking PBAT, becomes the greatest enemy of fans of Obi from this point on since he has pitched tent with Atiku.

Momodu don buy bad market lol. As for Yorubas, being a pragmatic and politically sophisticated people, we have no issues with 'turncoat' Momodu backing a Fulani to hijack the turn of the South whereas Yorubas honorably never moved with treachery against the turn of the North under Buhari.

We disagreed vocally against the misrule of Buhari, especially over Fulani herdsmen murderous menace in the SW, but there was no insurrection against him as born-to-rule Northerners are now convening against PBAT.

We know those Northern supremacist, who see other Nigerian as their serfs and minions, will always have Southern traitors like Momodu, who has always been an unprincipled hungry man only after what to eat, ready to support even a devil who can provide them with 'food' without a thought for what is best for their generations unborn.

We dash Momodu, Aregbe and their ilk to their Fulani masters. Their conduct is tragic because we know what Fulanis , unrepentant 'one Nigeria' adherents, will always do with power contrasting with what Yorubas now want that is shown below Tinubu has begun delivering upon with LGA autonomy and much more.

Yoruba judgment, very different to Nigerian judgement, will fester above enemies-of-progress enduringly into the future as offsprings of Abacha feel the notoriety of their last name to date.

This is why very few older generations of Yorubas above 70, my dad being in that category, have any love at all for OBJ they know was envious of Awolowo and colluded with the North to prevent the sage from getting to a political vantage point he could have used to positively change the future of Yorubas and all Nigerians had he become President.

Exactly Atiku won the PDP Primaries because of Fulani gang-up against Wike who was also backstabbed by Southern delegates.

Yet who is leaving PDP for who today? They are all shouting Wike but they cannot expel him from PDP because they know, unlike Atiku, their Party is finished in Wike walks away or is kicked out.

Na Wike dey give them life because, under PBAT, WIke has become a larger than life character.

Abi OOO. At 65 years, Momodu should try and respect himself na.

He is someone everyone can drag because they know why and how he came to them. Wike pretty much called him out as a hungry man.

😅😅😅😅 I swear. Since that uppercut from Wike, Momodu has been acting like someone dazed from a Mike Tyson knockout.

Even the Davido kwanta shows that Momodu will alway 'collect' because the rich and famous know him for the sycophant he is and will never respect him for that reason.

Some people and inordinate love of money. Well, they should pray their God Mammon comes to their rescue. Lol.
