DMerciful:I don't get you guys. Factually, Yorubas are your friends and biggest enablers in the world. They do not terrorise you, never ever, and we all know who Kanu and co set up IPOB, UGM, etal to fight. Why do you people then always have a problem when moves are made to strengthen the spread of armed forces capacity across our nation evenly between North and South. Especially when it is obvious this is happening to aid equitably good coverage in the South previously disenfranchised deliberately by several Northern military rulers who have always believed might is right and therefore always position themselves, from time immemorial, to control our armed forces and parastatals? What sort of immaturity, myopia and self-destructive shortsightedness dey worry you guys sef? |
PulaPower:I wonder OOO. Some can now no longer rise above turning everything into a contest of ethnic jingoism. |
CodeTemplar:Bro, stop living in the past. It says a lot that smart guys know that anyone still crying over GEJ is the opposite of a winner since we can't say the L word here. I did not tell you it politics is about victory alone. My point you continue to miss because you're that type of fellow, is that politics is a gladiator contest. Opponents don't bring you biscuit and chocolate. Jonathan had his time, and messed up. Confirming he is an accidental leader that providence made President, and not his own capacity and natural ambition, comes from all Tinubu is doing reform-wise without fear today to global acclaim. People who cannot win in the present or future often cling to past glory days. That is what you and all the noisemakers shouting about Jonathan are showing. Lastly, I am not shoving "junky governance down the throats of percieved neutrals here". Use facts to debunk my arguments here if you can. For example, can you discredit my claim it is the lawless and irresponsible Governments of GEJ and Buhari that owe 3.3 trillion reconciled debt Tinubu has agreed to pay to GENCOs and DISCOs, dating back 2013-2014 to date, to get our power sector back on track and boost investor confidence in Nigeria whereas ignorant Nigerians like you Nigerians keep unfairly baying for Tinubu's blood over power supply? Start from there bro to show you are "neutral" as you claim because I don't see how some Nigerians, if they are not bigots, can disregard facts as I present it every time to blame Tinubu for problems he has not caused yet has shown greatest determination and resolved to find solutions to. |
CodeTemplar:Is something wrong with you? Who do you keep confusing posters here with? You sure you're okay? The bolded just confirmed everything I concluded about the poster I was addressing that means you two are same. We can't even say tame things on NL without being banned but I will say it is those who are the opposite of winner who will remain so engrossed with a past they cannot change while ignoring a present and future shaping up nicely to truly liberalise and set Nigeria free from agents of regressions. If I remember correctly, Tinubu stated GEJ should not remove subsidy without putting palliative in place to cushion what may be punitive hike in inflation. Jonathan was President and could simply have gathered the bravery to defy Tinubu etal to do what he must because all true leaders understand they fail or succeed by the choices they make/fail to make. What Jagaban did back then is precisely what he should be doing as an opposition leader, looking to oust GEJ from office, and it is what Kemi Badenoch is doing to the British Prime Minister currently to force him out because she smells blood. It is a measure of the man you are, i.e one always making excuses and blaming others, that you want to put the delay of fuel subsidy removal on Tinubu rather than the weak, inept and totally accidental President GEJ was was too lacking in bravery to do the needful. What delay did Tinubu entertain, from any force or power in the land, before he declared fuel subsidy is "gone" immediately he became President. Look at the contrast bro and you keep worshipping Jonathan after 11 years out of office and touting him an "innocent victim"? Go out and win bro. You live in the past so much it is clear you're the kind who does not understand power must be taken not given. You also do not appear to understand success is often the reward of a man's bravery and capacity to do what must be done while failure, as happened to GEJ, is usually what dithering, procrastinating, cowardice and hiding in fear delivers. Never get it twisted, I am not holding brief for Tinubu here. Jagaban does not need me to do that for him. He has more than enough capacity to best his opponents as he has always shown as one of the most strategically brilliant politicians in Nigeria. It is people like you who who should look in the mirror with how you are still crying over the self-inflicted fate of Jonathan who never wanted to be President and was put far above his station by circumstances , and the cynically calculative OBJ, while.you also want to force the equally weak and disastrous called Obi on Nigeria today. |
jamafa:Don't mind that character. What right do we have to be saying we should be celebrating moon expedition USA just completed? Do we have the decades of incremental good and improving work and effort the USA put in, to get better at space exploration, to insist we should be where they are today? How does any balanced Nigerians forget the misrule of the last 5 decades, interspersed with military intervention in political leadership they have no business in, to then expect us to be competing with USA Singapore, UK etal today? A wise man recognises his current strength and capacity to then build on that. He does not wish to copy others or insist he should be on par with them same way someone boxing for 2 months would be mad thinking he can compare himself to Floyd Mayweather Jr who is in his prime and has been boxing for circa 2 decades at the highest level . |
Juliette5803:You make me laugh with your unreasonable outlook and expectations. Nigerians should not celebrate roads because China is building Cities underground ba? What have Chinese leaders being doing foe the past 40 years in comparison to Nigerian leader who heaped damages upon damages on our nation through the ineptitude of successive leaders? Pragmatists and solutions-providers, unlike the idealist you clearly are, deal with reality on ground by first accepting their own current fortune which is very different to that of those who have been doing the right things for decades incrementally and consistently. We regressed ourselves with fuel subsidy scam, self-destructive subsidy of the Naira to artificially inflate it value and damaging subsidies in the power, education, health sectors etal. Higher education in Nigeria, for example, is of such comparatively poor quality to the extent that our civil engineers can't even handle basic infrastructure projects while we have gotten used to the sight of Lebanese and Chinese contractors/engineers constructing majority of our moderately challenging road infrastructure. Yet your kind keep talking as if we will bridge this incredible gap, everywhere and in every sector in months and years, without delivering reforms we must abide with for decades before we can even begin to resemble a sane nation. If you accept how low we have sunk you will know we must get behind leaders who are now ready to build steadily, with sure-footedness, which means Nigeria too will be celebrating far more than "mere roads" in around 40 years. If you arrogantly do not wish to accept where Nigeria is, to be talking as if we have a right to expect Singapore-like level of development everywhere, then you are delusional for hosting wild expectations Nigeria has no capacity to secure. As a definitive example, who are those who transform developed nations if not the critical thinkers and solutions-providers in her STEM network (science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics) optimal quality education has shaped and nurtured? When was the last time, if ever, Nigeria has had education good enough to put astronauts in space, buiild nuclear weapons or even construct the 4th Mainland bridge for God sake? Get your head out of the cloud. Recognise our reality, including our current sever limitations, and accept the sheer scale of the building process it will take to get Nigeria on track. |
Juliette5803:Rubbish logic. For decades leaders did nothing. You cursed and complained bitterly for the entire period of those decades.. How is it then normal behaviour to not express joy and optimism now that a lot of Governors and the FG are moving at a great pace in terms of infrastructural developmental? Iike FSBoperator said, we know what is at play here which is simply a need to deliberately fail to give credit where due so that, in your mind, Tinubu is not the beneficiary of that, because you worry praises for him and other leaders (governors etal) operating under his Federal Republic will win Nigerians over. Leading to him remaining in office when we know you want the failure Obi to replace PBAT by any means necessary. |
FSBoperator:God bless you. Sometimes I get depressed thinking about the plight of Nigeria other African nations do not have to deal with in their quest for development.. I.e the fact Nigeria is a nation so horrendously divided along ethno-religious line to the extent she hosts many citizens who want failure and negativity to engulf the nation merely because their kinsman is not in charge and an individuals from an ethnic groups they hate primordially is. |
condralbedez:I will never understand the logic of people like you who make the argument I have highlighted in your post. Why should infrastructural.development not be celebrated by the masses given the decades of neglect and corruption, plus fuel subsidy hijacking of Nigeria's developmental wealth, that saw very poor growth of infrastructural stock nationally for close to four decades now? China is creating monstrous infrastructural projects and building skyscrapers in 28 day when such would take most African nations at least 16 months or more to deliver. Should people who are normal, and not bitter and hateful as perhaps you are, not celebrate steps in the right directions, for us in Nigeria regardless of where the rest of the world has reached? We haven't had this degree of infrastructural development overload engulfing Nigeria in the living memory of some of us so why should people not be happy and optimistic this may be a new dawn? We get it. You want every all laudable and positive development transforming the lives of Nigerians for the better to to be seen as negatives or nothing to celebrate' because they come under a performing federal Government empowering States to do more yet you want that Governmnent gone to be replaced by your charlatan Obi, who is a glorified failure? Or you prefer the Dubai dweller who has nothing to his name leadership-wise beyond an 8 year stint as VP of Nigeria after which he chose to abandon our nation for Dubai to return only in election years looking for the key to Aso Rock. Won't happen bro. Remain bitter and negative all you want. Progressive Nigerians will remain positive over forward motion for every corner of our nation when such is delivered. |

givedemwotowoto:Yorubas hate and envy who? Figment of your imagination confirming that you guys need to grow out of this paranoia and sense of persecution over literally everything. The same way the lady has praised Nigeria, she can also raise factual criticism that can be reported on a political blog without your need to tag issues and attack against you by Yorubas. You are showing the same partisanship of Peter Obi and Ezekwesili who never see anything wrong with the SE but want a NATO enquiry if a pin drops in other regions of Nigeria simply to demarket and gaslight PBAT. As I said to someone else, you lot should learn to take constructive and/or fact-based criticism constructively. Enugu's water issues is not the fault of the current Government but it is partly to do with what his predecessors failed to do. You can jump to be on the defensive now but cannot understand when some of us say that same way Mbah cannot be blamed for Enugu's water Scarcity and cannot magically solve the problem overnight is how, practically, Tinubu cannot resolve the problem of the power sectors, and indeed other sectors, in 2 years. Mbah is hailed as competent and progressive. Hopefully he will resolve the issue of water Scarcity in Enugu or, at the very east, begin the process for a robust and permanent solution.

boxypane:No need to always be on the defensive to be attacking people with personal jibes. Take constructive criticism constructively. That same blogger was waxing lyrical about the positive changes she met at MMIA when she returned to Nigeria after two years away. She has also praised Nigerians for being big-hearted and not clannish like other African nations which is a fact I can testify to from visit to other African nations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2GnzHjf3gQ?si=4vjKr_SbvimS9Hau https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wes8rMQhsPQ?si=xtc9IHOGstEeFVLO |
Kudos to Adetokunbo Ogunnoiki for using his talent to provide solutions for society. Commendation too for Riddwane Ajetunmobi, Governor Sanwo Olu's Special Assistant, for formally reaching out to the young man to bring him and his solution on board. If one hears this young man is a Senator or successful entrepreneur in future, it will not be a surprise because optimistic and positive people are always looking for solutions. Naturally, providing solutions makes one rich, successful and recognised in life. |
KosiGee:Dey play na. He isn't a coward, always fleeing rather than standing his ground, like Obi and that's for sure. |
Goodvibes007:Or political olosho. |
2special:Is Obi even a mediocre politician let alone a good one? The guy just wants freebies without getting his hands dirty which is not possible in Nigerian politics. There is more chance of Nigerians seeing one million pigs flying in the sky than Obi emerging ADC candidate. The Party is full of callous and ultra-rugged desperados Obi cannot look in the face let alone match. |
Amaechi is a proper "bo lé ka ja" (come down let's fight) politician. He is about that life and Obi the coward is no match for him. I knew ADC was in trouble letting everyone into the fold because desperate Atiku believes "the more the merrier". The likes of Amaechi, Dino etal are loose cannons. |
chopnaira:Well-said Baba. Was about to say exactly same.when I saw your comment. A gathering of around. 12 jobless dossers tagged "Nigerians" when we know who they are precisely and their motivation. Even the UK is behind Tinubu. The Nigerian central bank has never been world central bank of the year yet our CBN won that award this year courtesy of Cardoso's world class performance as Governor of our central bank. Is that the sort of President developed nations turn against for the political harlot and Dubai dweller or a thoroughly failed Governor of Anambra or Kwankwaso that US political leaders are advocating sanction against for links with terrorism? Obidients really don't understand the sort of global support Tinubu enjoys and this is why they are wasting their own time with this charade. At this stage, even King Charles is ready to campaign for Tinubu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph5XCf8jgOE?si=VjDGLZU-uLkD1eUe |
Kobojunkie:Only civil war? Why not advocate nuclear war even so everyone is wiped out ? |
franchasng:Lol. Is it that you can't afford data to watch the video? |
Daguccizgreat:Keep deluding yourself thinking Tinubu is not well-supported because you and your co-travellers hate him with a passion. You think all Nigerians are like you guys with ulterior motives that have nothing to do with the good governance of Nigeria and Nigerians? January 2027 not far. |
LagosOrigin:You have never made a sensible or intelligent post on this forum under any of your many aliases. A few individuals with microphones shouting impotently, while passers-by ignore them, amounts to "sane Yorubas" telling Tinubu "enough is enough" in your opinion? |
yarimo:Bro, we are both staunch supporters of Tinubu, and lord knows I can't stand Obi, but I believe ADC should concede their ticket to him or Amaechi in the interest of the greater good of Nigeria's unity and peace. Nonetheless , I am very happy they will cheat Obi though, as they made him flee PDP in 2022, because that would be utlimate proof of how a man loses out big when he fails to fight for what is right and just. Obi never stood on business to insist on respect for the rotation agreement and the fact it is the sacrosant turn of the South Northerners must not usurp after having 8 years through Buhari. This is perhaps because him and his senior acolytes ( Nzeribe etal) were happy Abiola was denied his mandate meaning they retained disdain for the rotation agreement that came into being because of that egregious action. As far as they were concerned , Abiola's fate was fitting punishment for Yorubas. In the end, what goes around comes around. Though I want ADC to concede their ticket to a Southerner so there is no chance of truncation of Southern turn, I am happy Obi will be a victim of his own dishonorable outlook and disinterest in doing the right thing because Atiku cannot defeat Tinubu anyway. No Northerner can. It would be triple sweet victory if PBAT dispatches both Atiku and Obi permanently from Nigerian politics and continues to rule on behalf of the South to then hand over to a progressive Northerner in 2031. |
LagosOrigin:On a topic that does not concern Tinubu and actually highlights the equitable need for power to rotate between the North and South, that are completely different in orientation and socio-economic leaning, you cannot even stay on topic and show you have pride in yourself enough to resist slavery domination by others. Do you ever think of the future of those you will leave behind? I.e kids, grandkids etal? The hate you host for Tinubu and Yoruba is far greater than the pride and respect a man should have for himself. Conceding the turn of the South to the North, when they will never do same, is a shame to you and your future generation who will curse you for not fighting against them being lower caste in their own nation as some in the North would have us be if they have their ways. It is not Tinubu who is the "disgrace". Look in the mirror. |
Good. I understand PDP is doing same. Let all Parties shame the congregation of Fulani born-to-rule supremacists and hegemonists who believe the rest of us are their slaves i.e ADC. Imagine Atiku wanting to replace Buhari in 2023 that, had he won, would have made it a possible 16 years of unbroken Fulani rule over Nigeria despite a rotational agreement being in place because of the inordinate lust for power of these same Northerners that put our nation at risk of disintegration over Abiola's denied mandate. Kudos Labour Party. All Parties must follow to show some we are not their slaves and that Nigeria belongs to us all equally . But for the South, how would the North be better than Mali, Burkina Faso, Mauritania etal? Yet they feel they must always have the Presidency. Absolute nonsense. It is a shame so many Southerners (the Kenneth Okonkwos, Dele Momodus and Aregbesolas of the world) lack pride and respect for themselves and are so eager to sell off their birthright as not one single Northerner will agree to do when it is the bonafide turn of the North per the rotation agreement. |
The energy crisis, affecting the whole world, is getting worse because of dwindling availability of fossil fuel and natural gas due to how demand is increasingly looking to exceed the stock nature created and can replenish. If Nigeria is a nation with visionary and innovative people, we will collectively take charge of our natural endowment, i.e. abundant sunlight and significant raw lithium deposit, to forge solution around solar energy. The reality is that our power sector is a mess due to decades of severe and cumulative under-investment, corner cutting, unfeasibly large debts owed to DISCOs and GENCOs that began with the insincere privatisation scam of GEJ and non-cost-reflective tariff charges that are a disincentive to foreign investors involvement in our power sector. Because of greed, garish materialism and callous lack of vision we destroyed our power sector to the extent lasting and optimal solution will cost money Nigeria does not have a fraction of. No 24/7 uninterrupted power supply solution possible without a very large injections of cash Nigeria does not have and will not have for the next 50 years unless foreign investment, with solid guarantee of ROI, can be attracted to resolve for us. Educating ourselves about the problem is the first step towards gaining an informed grasp of the big picture so we do not begin having unrealistic expectations of the Government. Everybody (government, investors, private sectors, financiers, private individual etal) should get involved to resolve a big problem created over at least 5 decades yet some misguidedly believe an individual leading government (Tinubu, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso etal) can resolve in a year or two.
|
Jakumo:Indeed Sir. The wider issue though is where Nigeria is heading when it is 3 geo-political zones (SW, SS and NC) that appears to host people who understand the need for absolute respect of our national rule of law while the other 3 geo-political zones(SE, NE and NW) are full of indigenes who believe rule of law does not apply to them. They want amnesty for terrorist killers and bandits (NE and NW) plus the right to form eye for an eye militia (Kanu and IPOB, ESN, UGM etal) no sane nation in the world will allow because of the simple concept of how "and eye for an eye makes the world blind". Mahatma Ghandi. To the extent people of those geo-political zones believe they should be allowed to go around murdering others in cold blood citing one excuse (religion, persecution , self-defence etc) or the other (revenge, disenfranchisement , lack of opportunity etal as claimed by Gumi to justify murderous banditry) our rule of law does not view as valid. How is the incendiary and lawless antics of those regions fair to others, in the same nation, doing everything to keep the peace and civility geographical spaces need to foster sanity and normal socio-economic activities? When such drastic homogeneity of vision and ideas is lacking in a nation's major ethnic groups, then that is a nation sitting on a keg of gunpowder with a possible violent end. |
aswani:Simple. We are talking of someone who is no certified or trained Lawyer yet was still shouting recently, at his court trial, "you don't know law" at the prosecution legal team full of SANs and acclaimed lawyers with decades of experience in their craft. "Pride goes before a fall" is the perfect saying that defines aberrant people who feel they are above the law and, in any situation, are always innocent while others alone are guilty. |
truthera:Yes I am a "fake fellow" but what are you and your co-travellers? Two wrongs can never make a right. You will never get this because you lack one human quality very important to living successfully with others under the laws of a land everyone is bound by. I.e the ability of a man, whatever the excuses or provocation, to accept his wrongdoings. Especially those with severe legal consequences. Others will always be better than you, cry less than you do and get more out of life, society and the relationship with their fellow men because they don't lack this crucial quality of man that you do. |
IGBOSON1:Typical. You guys, more than anyone else, revel in victimhood because you simply do not have the capacity to be reasonable and to accept responsibility for your wrongdoing. You will forever be problem to yourselves because of this basic flaw that is crucial in defining humanity. When you cannot see your wrongdoing, to then own up to such and accept whatever punishment is prescribed, you are a problem. |
IGBOSON1:Rubbish. There is no validation for any man, in a society that is guided by the rule of law, to declare he has the power to decide who lives or who dies. As simple as that. |
