ChiefOloye:Crucial for Tinubu to win in 2027 and continue with reforms. Anyone who genuinely loves Nigeria knows that PBAT till 2031 is guaranteed. No coup, whether Military, civilian or political, can succeed against PBAT as I believe his path is righteous and just. God will always strengthen his hands. |
madridguy:Lol. You know them very well. |
ariesbull:I don't have time for you. Your inferiority complex, and desperation to 'measure up', is obvious as majority of your threads seek to compare SW and SE in one way or the other. Your threads show who you are and what dominates your mind. No sensible Yoruba will enage someone like you in what would be a redundant back-and-forth. |
Openyamind111:Inxeed. That's why I said they deliberately leave out other relevant statistical info, such as IGR for example, to warp the narrative for those who can't think independently or do basic fact-finding research. |
MarketDispatch:Not everything seen elsewhere is good for Nigeria. Some nations like Japan and China, with paucity of space, have no choice but to find innovative solutions to accommodate many in small space. This can lead to what is called the concrete jungle effect with loads of skyscrapers and tall structures to accommodate large population at the expense of aesthetic beauty and natural landscape taking in parks, green life etc. Nigerian leaders simply need to lead well so population can be spread evenly across States of our nation that is large enough to accommodate us all and even stylishly in an architectural and town planning sense. It is an aberration our smallest state Lagos host 23 million people yet Niger State, several times bigger, has a population of 7 million approx. That picture you showed belongs to a nation that will do things differently, and in a more attractive gentrified manner, if she has the landmass Nigeria does. Ideally, and as a preference of architecture and town planning, t is business and commercial districts that should have skyscrapers and not residential areas unless space is at a premium.in residential areas as well which is not the case with Nigeria if we think of the land mass of our States and FCT. |
aworatak:Debts are not necessarily bad if the benefits of it are good and the debtor has the capacity to pay it back comfortably. OP is just being mischievous presenting figures, with no statistical breakdowns, he knows most will react to on account of size of amount owed alone. The big picture is far more complex. For example, Lagos and Ogun owe a large stock of the debt of the SW. |
This is why we need State or regional policing. Travel and tourism could be huge and a significant earner for the SW if security is very good аcross the entire region. |
AKWATGOLD1:How is Amaechi correct? It is not a crime for a candidate to be difficult to defeat in his home State and region. Amaechi is just showing his insecurity with this thinly-veiled attack against others because he is the only candidate , out of the most prominent, who lacks support in his State and region. He is simply envious of the others and this is no different to him recently saying he should be favoured to emerge ADC flagbearer as the youngest of the prominent candidate when that talk is blatant age discrimination. |
When will Amaechi learn to talk maturely instead of divsively and in a manner that polarises? Every candidate will have their stronghold because of 'home support' but that is not enough to label them ethnic candidate. Amaechi is just shouting because he knows he cannot even win his State let alone the SS. |
Bahamas95:That's not how to look at things. Commend positive development when you see it to encourage leaders to do more. No one says you should throw a Party for Umahi but graciously appreciating his effort would be nice. |
IkeOnyia:Easy and quick to find info and even videos that aids clarity. Key is having a knowledge-seeking and inquisitive mind instead of awaiting answers from others that you can get for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDf4EOgoUMo?si=I6HTgDk7Z_kDy13E |
Buccalcavity2:One thing I have come to understand with Nigerians is that many, though conventionally educated, are mentally lazy. Highly so in fact. They never take time to understand a problem to then note the correct solution to that problem and how it will work solving the problem to include operation and timeline |
Xboss1:Lol. Basic Ai is your friend and free to use.
|
lawani:Indeed. |
Sheuns:Okay. Let's stick to that. OBJ acted impeccably producing and backing Yar Adua to replace him in respect of the power rotation agreement. Ask those who are knowledgeable and they will tell you Odili , who was close to OBJ, and other southerners wanted OBj to back them for the 2007 Presidency. Yet Obi insisted on Yar Adua. Ditto Tinubu who was one of the first to insist GEJ be sworn in as substantive President while Yar Adua was comatose abroad. Fact check it. Tinubu also supported GEJ tacitly to remain President in the 2011 election by deliberately failing to robustly support Ribadu, the ACN candidate, because of an agreement Jonathan should get another 4 years, making 5 years in total as substantive President using the slot of the North sure to the unfortunate demise of Yar Adua. The South (through OBJ and Tinubu) has behaved honourably to give unto the North what belongs to the North It is Atiku and his gang of born-to-rule Northern supremacists who do not give a damn about anything or anyone It was only after Jonathan decided to be a sit-tight President, as many African Presidents turn out to be, that Tinubu stepped in to form APC and help Buhari win to restore the rotational agreement because 9 years for Jonathan would have destroyed the fragile peace and unity power rotation created. |
saintopus:Keep bragging myopically about unimportant issues. Being champions of curses and abuse has got you where exactly? Today your region is famous for hosting indigenes keen to move permanently to the SW with negligible number of Yorubas viewing the SE as a viable option for economic migration. You people will forever remain focused on the wrong things because emotions and prejudice prevents you seeing what matters most in life. |
jmoore:Silly argument. Many prominent Southern ethnic groups in the South aside Yorubas and Igbos. Edos can make a legitimate claim to the Southern Presidential slot. So too Ibibios etal. One things you guys will never understand, because you are not reasonable, is that the turn of the South does not mean rotation exclusively between Yorubas and Igbos alone. The turn of the South, even as Yorubas and Igbos may hold size advantage , can belong to any southern ethnic group that can forge alliances and build bridges better than others. Something you guys will never be competent at doing because of your megalomaniac nature and delusions you automatically deserve to dominate and lead others. Watch, to prove my point, how Yorubas will support an SS candidate in 2039 to prove we have now matured to understand the meaning of aura for aura and energy for energy. El Rufai, your new hero, said "hate begets hate". Using that analogy, what have you lot shown Yorubas to expect us back you blindly simply because you shout it is your turn? The mature and pragmatic politics SS is playing today, you guys have never shown capacity for, will gain them mileage from us they can cash in on come 2039. May God spare all our lives till then. |
DoTheNeedful:Exactly. Does any sane Nigerian believe what the North did to Abiola and the South can happen to the North without Nigeria burning to the ground in a day via mass riot and pogrom-like killings of southerners the North would have embarked on? Can the North accept what they did to Abiola, his wife and the South if the situation were reversed? |
saddler:What sort of question is that? Do you know the grave injustice done to the South via the rejection of Abiola's Presidential win simply because the born-to-rule and power obsessed North never wishes to relinquish power to the South? Yet same North wants to continue gaining the benefit of being in nationhood with us while showing disregard for our critical and existential importance to Nigeria. Name the method and you will find the North guilty of attempting to use such to remain in power. Military coups throughout the 80ties so they remain in charge and truncation of Abiola's win when Nigeria attempted to return to civilian democracy . We even hear they allegedly tried to remove Tinubu via military coup while Atiku is doing same via civilian coup that cannot bode well for Nigeria. The North has historically done grave injustice to the South and the rotation agreement was put in place to check their inordinate lust for power using anything (military coup, anarchy etal) that could put Nigeria in danger of balkanising violently. |
saintopus:Why should Tinubu support Igbos in 2023? Did any Igbo, individually or as a group, approach Tinubu amicably to seek his assistance? How did Igbos go about their demand to "taste the Presidency"? With insults, blackmail, curses, large scale support for Kanu/IPOB and politics of hate/bitterness against Yorubas. Any reasonable adult will agree rotation of power is between North and South. It is not Igbos alone who have not "tasted" power out of many ethnic groups of the South. If Igbos wish to be the flagbearer during the slot of the South, they work and negotiate for it especially on the aspect of things related to bridge-building. Blackmail, conflict, coups, war, insurrection, insults and threats, which is their historical default tool to seek what they want, will not give them the Presidential ticket when it is the turn of the South. As things stand, I will be supporting the SS when it is the turn of the South in 2039 because, in the spirit of aura for aura and energy for energy, what Igbos have shown Yorubas clearly make it obvious they do not mean us well and would always seek options that is punitive to the wellbeing and progress of Yorubas. |
SmartPolician:Well-said. Whatever the argument regarding whether Obi or Tinubu is best to lead from 2027, no Northerner should feature. We are not their slaves. The South is essentially all that is Nigeria. She sustains the North (VAT, crude oil allocation, local government funding, intervention budgeting for terrorism fight, IDP displacement etc) and gives Nigeria international glory and essence plus retain the peace and civility allowing it host over 70% of the FDI inflow into Nigeria. Are we to forget Nigeria is one of the most terrorised nation in the world, many nations advise their citizens to avoid, because of the North? At this point, and put before a non-Nigerian, the North seems to offer not much essentially to our nationhood yet some over there, Atiku and co, keep insisting they must rule even when that breaches a rotation agreement crucial to maintaining the peace, unity and stability of Nigeria The core North is no better than Niger Republic, Mali, Burkina Faso etal. If the region was not full of regressive empty barrel leaders, with confirmation of this coming from how Northerners have the worst human development index in the world, then they should be doing everything to placate the South to include respecting rotation. Their savings grace is the knowledge, with how Southerners have always displayed it publicly, folks in the South lack the unity of purpose to take the North to task. For that reason the North will always continue to do disrespectful things she should never contemplate, as Atiku is doing, if the South remains divided and emotionally unintelligent to the extent they cannot see the big picture. |
overall90:If you see "insults" then it may be your guilty conscience indicating some labels apply to you. Fuel subsidy was not supposed to "save" your lives. It main purpose was to stop the bankruptcy of Nigeria because we simply did not have the funds to keep it in place. It was choking Nigeria centrally. |
helinues:Read carefully to Note I always distinguish the Northern leaders I speak of with the "born-to-rule" categorisation to indicate the specific group I am talking about. All reasonable, fair honourable and progressive Northerners are behind PBAT. They will dispatch Atiku and his born-to-rule Northern supremacist gang. |
CharlotteFlair:Lai lai. Don't try to portray me a hater of ordinary Nigerians. My granddad was an illiterate farmer and we would never have beat generational poverty but for Awolowo free education my parents benefitted from. Poor and underprivileged Nigerians getting opportunities that can elevate them out of poverty and destroy generational poverty in their lineage is therefore something I am very passionate about. My point is that it is shameful educated folks like you, because you refuse to tame the emotional outlook and ethnocentric dislike of others you host in your hearts, cannot rise up patriotically to be an asset to your nation educating the poor, illiterate and underprivileged about the factual good the government is doing that will transform their lives in the near future plus that of their children and generations unborn. Can you kindly talk about the trillions GEJ and Buhari racked up in debts to GENCOs and DISCOs that is directly linked to our power woes ,they avoided paying using Presidential bullying power, Tinubu has now approved 3.3 trillion Naira to settle? If you don't wish to give your opinion about that monumental effort of PBAT then don't quote me again. |
CharlotteFlair:Lol. Okay. I am wrong. You worked me out completely and I am a total disgrace. I apologize sincerely. Happy now? That still cannot remove the veracity of the facts I stated you avoided confronting. 😎 |
Emu4life:When you see some born-to-rule Northerners patronising the intelligence of Nigerians with nauseatingly idiotic claim then you know they are up to no good again. Which deliberately absent father is praised as "meaning well" for the children he fathered yet left others to raise? Atiku who sojourns in Dubai in his entire spare time, ignoring Nigeria and her problems , to show up in election year alone demanding the keys to Aso Rock, "means well" for Nigeria how? What has Atiku down to show he "means well" for the people of Adamawa, where he is from, let alone Nigerians? |
seunmsg:Simple. They need to tear down the CBN that just won world central bank of the year 2026, under Cardoso, and return it to a Forex dispensing ATM, under another Emefiele-like tool, for the Bureau De Change scam system enriching Northerners massively daily but regressing Nigeria socio-economically. They will then do same in every sector Tinubu has brought fiscal and reform discipline to and take us right back to square one while they all become richer than Malami overnight. The future of Nigeria, full of strange bedfellows forced to cohabitate when they can never be reconciled, is seperation. Whether that happens through peaceful and progressive regional autonomy or fractious, violent and terrorist balkanisation is up to Nigerians. |
