truthera:Rubbish. Nigeria is a multi-ethic and multi-religious Nation. How can you childishly say Tinubu "authorized and supports the initiative" when operation safe corridor precedes PBAT and is a globally endorsed program Tinubu would appear unprogressive dismissing? Grow up bro. |
truthera:You are just dishonest to the core and not wired right. Otherwise you'd understand there are no ways to spin some statements. There is no 'context' excuse that can justify the dangerously megalomaniac announcement from Kanu of "I have the power to decide who lives or who dies". If the entire Nigeria adopt the mentality of kanu and his Northern equivalent( terrorists and bandits) what will remain of our nation? Igboho can say and do what he wants but Yorubas won't follow him when he overstep his boundaries if he delusionally believes we will blindly back him to create anarchy, chaos and break-down of law and order against Nigeria. Study Yoruba history and civilisation that is older and more entrenched in sub-saharan Africa than others and you will note certain consistencies such as the dedication to critical, pragmatic and progressive thinking always geared toward the greater good of society. |
adamkkk:Keep your emotions in check and stop the hypocrisy. How many in the SE don't have "despicable hatred for the person of" Tinubu? You're "open-minded" my foot. What Tinubu achieved in Lagos can only be denied by one group of people and the glaring failure/mediocrity of Obi can only be denied by same folks. |
Mbanda:You're making excuses already? |
Mbanda:Okay na. Shebi January ending no far at all. God spare our lives till then. 😎 |
Mbanda:Whatever helps you sleep at night bro. |
IGBOSON1:I have no time, like others do, for making things up or lying against another man dishonorably. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwSC0csycZs?si=YsVHeVGQt732p0gG |
Parachoko:Precisely. Let me use one example alone out of many. It is a measure of the focus of Tinubu, and his goodwill for Nigerians, he has no time to deliberately shade Presidents between 2013 and 2023, for running up debts to GENCOs and DISCOs they claimed was over 6 trillion that is now responsible for our GENCOs and DISCOs downing tools and failing to supply power till what they are owed is cleared. Should Tinubu do what other President before him had done to simply use power to bully GENCOs and DISCOs to continue supplying power with debts mounting? No, because PBAT knows permanent solution is needed and not irresponsible leadership that passes on problems to others . Tinubu has now put a reconciled package of 3.3 trillion Naira in place to clear the debt owed GENCOs and DISCOs by GEJ and Buhari, to get the power sector moving properly and, most importantly, send a message to foreign investors they can invest in our power sector, after it had become privatised, for assured and protected profit. Which leader has done anything similar to what Tinubu is attempting now for any sane persons to be advocating we replace Tinubu with Atiku or Obi who have no history of leading anything and anyone successfully? |
Evelynluv20:This is an open secret about them. Their own can never do wrong in their eyes. It is others who must always be indicted of wrongdoing. |
Counterigbolies:100% correct. |
Linzo:Don't Iranian have to "breathe" despite not being responsible for the war and destruction that arrived at their door? UK folks too must learn to breathe as they are the most socio-economically distressed, of all the big nations, for the madness of Trump and Israel in Iran. Should the Brits demand the head of Prime Minister Starmmer for a problem he did not cause but is trying to resolve when he was even on of the first to defy the war plans of Trump? Ditto Nigerians too must sacrifice and breathe, even as I urge the current government to do better in terms of palliatives, for problems at least 6 Governments before that of Tinubu caused . Jagaban is now trying to deliver long-ignored solutions for leadership incompetence and lapses of others through reforms that are unavoidably punitive in the short term, because of damages many past leaders have done to Nigeria, but will put Nigeria on the path of lasting success and developed nation glory. You people think you can hijack that noble effort of Tinubu and present it as "let Nigeria breathe" with your pretence of being emergency lovers of Nigeria and good governance advocates? Won't work buddy. Tinubu will win easily. Nigeria is on the cusp of glory. Neither Atiku nor Obi will be allowed to damage via returning us to Egypt and back to weaponized subsidy captivity plus hijack of CBN as a toy of the North to use issuing Forex to a few they trade for obscene profit, via bureau De Change, while Nigerians who legitimately need Forex cannot get it. We don't wish to go back to Government upon Government owning GENCOs and DISCOs trillions irresponsibly only for same players under those regime to attempt gaslighting Tinubu about "poor power not allowing Nigerians breathe". Whereas Tinubu is actually the only President who has put together a 3.3 trillion Naira package to pay off Nigeria's debt incurred from circa 2013-2014 to date, in the power sector to improve power supply and, most importantly, attract foreign investors into our power sector by showing Nigeria will commit to paying debts she owes and contracts she signed. Tinubu is doing major things to teach Nigerians to fish and you think folks like you can win by fooling Nigerians fish handouts, as they had in the past, is better even as they are doomed to crashing horribly in the end because no leader taught them how to fish as PBAT is doing? Nothing for you, Atiku and Obi bro. |
WorldRichest:Exactly. The emergency lovers of our nation then try to fool Nigeria they are good governance advocates talking of "the suffering is too much" and "let Nigerians breathe". As if we don't know these folks who can't stand Nigeria and their fellow Nigerians only want the ousting of "Yoruba President" they believe will pave the way for an Obi win and "Igbo Presidency". End of January 2027 is 9 months away. Not long before they start crying . |
mozes01:They are anarchists and lawless elements. Me, you and majority of Nigerians know that so it is pointless expecting them to note the validity of the bolded in your post above. |
@OP. Wishful thinking is allowed..Yet, the reality is that no combo can defeat Tinubu and APC. January 2027 is not far. Not long to wait. |
adamkkk:What's your point? Which African City or State can rival New York, London, Tokyo etal? The point is that Lagos is by far the best State in Nigeria and most developed geographical space in West Africa. Tinubu ,and the successors who kept to the "Road map" he delivered after becoming Governor in 1999, directly take credit for that. Same cannot be said for abjectly mediocre Obi that Anambra worsened significantly under yet he is saying he is better than Tinubu because he knows Nigerians are a bigoted and prejudiced people who don't do reality. No educated , upright and logically/dispassionately objective Nigerians will ever support Obi to be President of Nigeria because many have verified history of achievement that shows they are far better suited for the job, including the current President, than the Agulu packaged fraud. |
DomPerignon:Indeed. Only those who are delusional believe Obi stands a chance of ever becoming President of Nigeria. Obi could not develop his State to make it an attractive geographical spaces for economic migrants from across Nigeria. Yet he wants to depose a President who has made Lagos a State most Nigerians want to live in that has 7th -8th biggest economy in Africa. Obi's reality, specifically his monumental failings as a leader, only exposes the dysfunctional and warped thinking of his supporters. |
gidgiddy:Someone who bragged messianically that he has power to decide who lives or dies cannot order the killing of his own people who disagree with his 'God of man' instruction (sit-at-home etal) or attempt to stand in his way? |
@OP. While you are likely a compassionate person, you always display a bigoted predisposition, like majority of your folks, for hosting compassion toward your own only and total incapacity for seeing the position of others. Tinubu "freed" no one. Operation safe corridor did. "Operation safe corridor" started in 2016 , under Buhari, by the Nigerian Military is responsible for the rehabilitation and deradicalisation of terrorist who show the will to disarm and stop their terrorist acts. It is backed, lauded passionately and endorsed by many world organisations like the UN. Even Niger Republic has a less pronounced version of operation safe corridor. Mali, Burkina Faso and other Sahel nations plaques with terrorism have no formally announced program similar to operation safe corridor but they host vague, localised and informal schemes for 'deradicalisation and rehabilitation' of terrorists. This reality should show wise Nigerians that the North, which views itself part of the Sahel nation more than a region of Nigeria, will naturally push for this "rehabilitation" agenda for their "misguided brothers" and will give no one peace unless they get what they want. Especially with international organisations and agencies backing operation safe corridor as an effective non-kinetic option for fighting terrorism With that said, what manner of unreasonable mindset then makes you people always eager to mention Tinubu over an initiative he can never win dismissing? If reasonable how can your messiah worship of one man, i.e Kanu, prevent you from seeing what obvious let alone you resort to making this about Tinubu ? The fact is that the interventionists nature of operation safe corridor , experts globally back the efficacy of, means it is a strategic program any terrorist who disarms and pledge to reform can be included in. When has Kanu and all his IPOB affiliates ever admitted to wrongdoing, let alone disarming, for them to be considered suitable for operation safe corridor deradicalisation and rehabilitation? Instead, and even as we see on Nairaland daily, the noise is that "Kanu and IPOB are innocent and have done no wrong" etc, etc whereas savvy Northerners are using the loophole to access "rehabilitation" option for their brother's Tinubu cannot abandon because it now has an international dimension after being created by Buhari in 2016. The Tinubu government has intervened to say rehabilitated terrorists are never recruited into the army and our armed forces. That is all PBAT can do and nothing more. It is why those of us wiser and more pragmatically intelligent than you ask for State/regional policing and regional autonomy so that we can take charge of what is in our power to control rather than obsess always over things we do not control as you lot do. I am not a fan of operation safe corridor because I believe it will never work in Nigeria's case where many (because of political, religious and land. expansionism agenda) will continue sponsoring restive young Muslims, even from outside Nigeria, to continue killing and maiming innocent Nigerians. Nonetheless, I recognise reality to note Tinubu can never win, for so many reasons, tryijf to wage war against a program bigger than Nigeria even. Same you will deem him a monster and dictator etc, as Obi and Obidients do daily, if he shows disinterest in listening to global experts who swear by programs like operation safe corridor. Bottom line is that you guys will always be on the receiving end of perpetual losses simply because, at all times, you display a self-harming propensity to work with emotions and sentiments rather than critical thinking, pragmatic logic and recognition of reality on the ground. Good luck to you

EmperorIsaac:Many, many in the SE a thousand times better than Obi in terms of possession of the natural talent to be distinguished leaders of Nigeria . People of the region just back Obi blindly and maniacally because they connect with his ethnocentric persona same way they worshipped Kanu and gave him the keys to the SE Manor to do as he pleases with. Whereas, conversely, they would always be lukewarm to the like of Umahi, Soludo, Igbokwe etal who are detribalised Igbos telling the SE to move on from past bitterness and engage with others to build a great nation. Nothing at all commendable about Obi. Mediocrity at best and abject failure at worst as his stint as Governor of Anambra proves. |
Ola9ja23:God bless you. He is so annoying with his messiah complex while actually being below mediocre, in reality, as a leader. Obi cannot even show depth to mention Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Onyeka Onwenu, the King Michael Jackson, Victor Nwaifo, Nico Mbarga, Sunny Okosun if he wishes to keep it old school as many would understand given his age. Instead Obi must use everything to burnish an angelic image he wants to dupe Nigerians with. Unintelligent Obi cannot even mention an artist or genre of music which is what people what people.want to know about his music taste Instead he is talking about "we are the world" because of an obsession to appear a messiah-like saviour whereas we never saw his messiah touch in Anambra over 8 years. Name artist you like or name genre you enjoy. No. He turns music, personal enjoyment for 99.99% of people on earth, into a political campaign tool. Listen to most world leaders prompted about their music taste. They give names of artists and genre of music they enjoy because they understand music taste is personal and the world simply wants to know the music that moves them and not idiocy about "all songs I listen to focus on salvation of humanity". Jesus sef no do reach the level of this charlatan called Obi. Obama became very famous for his 'normal and cool' music playlist and even movie/TV character interest to include his famous mention of "Omar Little", played by Michael K. Williams as his favorite character from the HBO series The Wire that literally catapulted Idris Elba to global fame. Obama displays the savvy to understand it's okay to bond with people over issues like music, sports, movies etc without diluting such with political pontification. Below is a video about Obama's 2024 playlist that include Tems and Rhema. Man's never waxes vaguely about any messiah-like music because he knows the world just wants to know who and what he listens to. I am just so happy this pretentious charlatan Obi will never get anywhere near Aso Rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsDQSifl-pY?si=UCs30DjmfurEbQco |
Laaaawwwwwd. Completely cringeworthy watch. Just glad this dude is done in Nigerian politics for good. |
zegxy:Bro, where in the civilised world do journalist not have regulatory bodies overseeing their conduct? If you agree journalists must be regulated then why do you confuse the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) ,that issued this compliance notice, to be the Nigerian Government ? Is is that you don't know the meaning of Government? Surely you can read and comprehend to note it is the regulatory authority that has the power to oversee conduct of journalists that has issued this instruction and not "Government". Some of you need to chill jumping into blind defence of your heroes/corners without inspecting the facts of the matter. |
givedemwotowoto:You completed primary school? What has freedom of speech got to do with news interviews conducted unprofessionally or in an openly biased manner whereby interviewers harass interviewees rudely with personal opinion and subjective reportage? Are you not aware virtually every sector that interfaces with the public answers to regulatory bodies over their ethics, conduct and sacrosanct duty to behave according to set provisions of professional standards? |
EyeCumInPiece:We are only truly rich if we completely control the process of transforming our mineral asset into highly sought after and profitable finished goods. For example, we have lithium viewed the future gold because of it's importance as a solution to the energy problem of the world with dwindling fossil fuel capacity. If we cannot turn lithium into LiFePO4 batteries, to benefit from the most profitable end of the lithium to power source industry, then Monkey (Nigeria) go dey work while Baboon (China etal) go dey chop. |
benardtotti:Indeed. This is why, at the very least, we must go our separate ways through full regional autonomy. Everyone will then be free to go and make of their region what they wish. |
Slippy:1993 is almost 40 years ago. The world, and Nigeria, has changed immensely to the extent Abacha is an unrepeatable anomaly and relic. The influence and power of Northerners is decreasing by the minute largely through how they have lost the goodwill of all decent folks causing terrorism problem threatening to destroy the biggest black nation on Earth many had high hopes for. Evolution, through rebellion and/or uprising of the oppressed, always overtake all oppressive, imperialist and/or hegemonic ruling class. Especially when, in the case of Nigeria, they cause the most problem for other classes/ethnicities/regions in society yet insist only they must rule. Globally, as a very important consideration, Fulanis are persona non Grata to the world today with many nations, even if they won't voice it as the USA is doing, not favourably predisposed to those causing the problem of Nigeria, and dominating the list of sponsors of terror, insisting on leading our nation when there is zero leadership effort from them to show they are seeking solutions. Tinubu has more than sufficient local and foreign goodwill/support to return in 2027. He will do just that. You can keep wasting your data here praying for the reincarnation of Abacha. |
Slippy:Your post reminds me of the saying "if wishes were Horses beggars would ride". 😎 |
This is the way to go. Kudos to the governor of Enugu and his team. Creating efficient and varied transport links to rural areas can open them to commerce, development and prosperity. Some here may be aware of how some communities in Nigeria, after over 6 decades of independence , can only be reached by hiking trails and motorcycle paths etal meaning they are bypassed by development and modernity and would stand no chance against well-armed marauding invaders. For Nigeria to develop optimally, efforts should be made to ensure rural areas play a full part in the solutions mix by treating them as linked extensions of Cities instead of forgotten and abandoned geographical spaces. China did precisely same with her rural outreach plans and reforms that elevated 800 million Chinese folks out of poverty between 1978 to date. It really is something Nigerian leader should look at critically as a model to refine for local peculiarities and adopt.

helinues:Lol. ADC, Association of defecting criminals, is a glorified gang of political harlots and worthless serial defectors. Her members have all swapped political Parties several times like a gang of oloshos who change "work place" every time they hear of a more profitable location ADC has absolutely nothing to offer Nigeria or Nigerians. |
Lol. Tinubu is right. A simple challenge. Look at the faces at that convention and assume they are 600 in number. Now, let us work out the number of time each attendee has joined, left and rejoined several/same Parties. Conservatively, we would have no less than a number around 600 x 3 = 1800 times. I e 3 times per individual minimum and more in the case of political oloshos like Obi, Atiku etal. In that same group of 600 try to find , as proof of transformational leadership quality Nigeria needs, one name that formed a Party singlehandedly and guided it to national prominence as Tinubu did with ACN. Not possible. Closest is Kwankwaso many believed formed NNPP as founder yet that is factually incorrect. Logically, how is Tinubu wrong calling this gathering of upstarts and opportunists "Street convention"?
