AntiWailer: Because you know his credentials which is not hacking but simply because they gave it to you in confidence or trust.
As for GTB, no need saying it looks like, Why not lunch XSS attack and come with the result. Lol I don't know anyone's credentials. I could read anyones email in the bank I just need to pop their email in a new account. It's a vulnerability mate! Guy I'm just telling you the landing page is crowded. The interface is shysters. They are lucky to be in naija not technically proficient hackers radar. I have just checked wema banks page and they don't use http secure. I have not even looked far. Security is a joke in Nigeria |

sheriffmarshal: Exactly.....we still have a lot to do.....not Nigeria....and most importantly.....it doesnt require spending a kobo! Tell whoever cares to listen.....Cyber threats are real! and its a global phenomenon....our lives and daily activities have come to depend on these interconnections of PCs and it affects all and sundry Its going to get worse once Nigeria gets the hang of the cloud and the Internet is fast enough. I read a JPMorgan cio said we did everything and even spent more than £250m and we still got hacked. For a network to be compromised, it takes a dopey staff to click on a rogue link. |

sheriffmarshal: Smiles......Oracle itself can be hacked brother....NOBODY is actually safe and their is no such word as hackproof......even if its off the internet! (stuxnet)......ill advice we just all take leaf from the warning and KNOW that it is very very possible! oh and.....a rhetorical question......would you collect a free 1TB Hard disk for asking a simple targeted question on Nairaland? maybe delivered to your workplace at 9am right after breakfast? I worked in a bank in Nigeria and one day I tried and configured the managing directors email on my pc. I did the pop address and all that and voila. All the emails dropped and I could read strategic info's. Nigeria still has a lot to do with infosec. Gtb site even looks like a site prone to xss |

This is what I was trying to explain to AntiWailer. No organisation can come out and boldly say they can't be breached. If you have layered defences and protect your perimeter, what about your weakest links like 3rd parties. Go and ask home depot and target stores. Target was breached through guys that repair their air conditioning systems and fridge |

AntiWailer: Bank's network security are segmented Bro. Those are basic things required.
I can tell you as a matter of fact that NO BANK uses Access as database for their core banking platform. I hear you bro. Nigerian banks are safe. |
Business › Re: Cyber-attacks: ‘N150bn Depositors’ Monies At Risk’ by wonlasewonimi: 9:03am On Feb 12, 2018 |
AntiWailer: Bros forget NHS. How much is NHS spending on defence mechanism ?
And if i may ask, which bank is using Access Database ? I am not talking about Microfinance Bank.
Majority of the banks irrespective of their core banking platform use Oracle Database with the latest Security patch installed from time to time.
Infrastructure on Internet depends on the Architecture adopted.
Servers on the DMZ don't talk to your core infrastructure directly. How much does NHS spend on security lmao. The whole NHS with the health records of every citizen of the UK. You will be surprised at how lax the security of major companies are. I'm not going to tell you the bank and its not a microfinance bank. Most companies/banks networks are not segmented and the ones segmented have done a bad job of it. All you need to break into anywhere in Nigeria is a good social engineering skills. Forget about latest patches, zero day exploits nko. Attackers are a step ahead. Go and read about major breaches on JP Morgan, citibank and so on. I repeat its not about if they will attacked its a matter of when. |
Business › Re: Cyber-attacks: ‘N150bn Depositors’ Monies At Risk’ by wonlasewonimi: 8:09am On Feb 12, 2018 |
AntiWailer: I doubt the first statement. Bank's don't joke with Cyber Threats.
I am not talking about connivance and frauds. I am not talking about a rogue staff who have access to card information and decide to send it to the guys that can use the information.
Losing 1 Billion to Privilege escalation attack in this time is laughable. That is one of the basic threat proper OTG-AUTHZ-003 Test would have neutralized.
The bolded is also funny. Any bank that falls victim of ransom ware should have the entire Security, Control and Audit team sacked. That guy is right. Nigerian banks would be the easiest to attack if cyber criminals focus attention on them. If you have critical infra that is Internet facing, you can't escape it. It's your disaster recovery and incident management process that will help you determine how prepared you are. Is it a major naija bank using access database that would withstand cyber attack? If NHS can be owned. No organisation can escape it. The amount of splunk alerts I receive everyday sef. |

This is just basic concept of security IAAA
Identification - who you are - unique phone numbers
Authentication - providing credentials to prove your identity claims - PIN, Passwords etc
Authorisation - once you have authenticated, what can you you now do. What rights have you got?
Accountability - records of what you have done with rights provided so as not to deny doing it. Why your phone has phone call logs. Non repudiation |

fatima04: I miss all my handy men in naija oo. Because ordering furnitures and home things online can be tiring and stressful and quite an adjustment.
Reading reviews and making sure you got everything right, make den no supply 2 x 2 bed when u think u r getting a good 6 x 6
For now, I think I am sticking with Amazon for furnitures because of the delivery (suggestions welcome ooo. still shopping and weighing options)
Setting up a house with a toddler and no grandma or sister to take care of baby while u run errands isn't easy as well, abeg how do new pple do it or y'all moved in as singles ni?
FYI, I discovered a good technology dt makes sense whilst shopping online affordable clothes dryer dt seems like d regular hanger we use in nigeria just dt it's heated up when plugged in. Anybody in d house used it? User reviews and suggestions and tips are welcome oo my pple You are still a learner ordering furniture from amazon. Dont worry, give it few years you will LOL at yourself. Just get a small drill and order stuff from IKEA. This country you gast to learn to DIY. |
