The Nigerian middle class likes to wait for the upper class to endorse a person before they can vote for them. If you are a graduate you are in that class- never mind that you may not be there economically. Your intellect places you in it.

Jesus told the Pharisees that they would not accept him because they were seeking one another's approval. The Pharisees were the enlightened people of their time. They were versed in the law and not at the level of the commoners but they needed to see that someone of high social status was vouching for Jesus before they would follow him.

Why do we need OBJ, Tinubu, Danjuma, Babangida and other people in their class to endorse a candidate before we support him or her? Are the above mentioned persons in our class? Do they have our worries? When they were in the middle class in the sixties and seventies and they decided to take over government, did they not just do so?

Here is the news and you know it:
The change you seek will never come from the upper class. No revolution ever does. They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Obasanjo, Tinubu, Danjuma and Babangida do not have the need we have for a revolution. No real change will be brought by the upper class.

The denial by the two firms without publishing the names of their shareholders indicate that those accused might have ordered them not to do so precisely because they might be the greatest stakeholders.

Mere press release is not enough to debunk serious issues as this.

I maintain that's there's something fishy in this deal, in every nonsense there's always a sense.
So following your logic, Atiku not providing evidence and just making a press statement and not releasing evidence shows there is something fishy too in his accusations.

Did you say this when the last administration battled not only BH, but also key northern elements like buhari whose words and actions emboldened BH?
BH was an invention of the north to wrestle power by all means from Jonathan. Jonathan is gone and they turned to themselves. Their problem.

But the minimum wage was always a benchmark. That's why it's called MINIMUM wage not maximum. Any state that can is free to pay more.

Is that not the same criteria they have used for choosing all the other queens?

The standard of beauty for the world is WHITE. Doubt me? Type beautiful women in google search, go to images and count how many of the women are black.
Not exactly true. A lot of Indians and Venezuelans have won it. In fact the last time I checked, venezuela has produced more beauty queens than any European country.
Venezuelans are a mixed people called Lantinos.
They have European, native American and black ancestory.

Moghalu looks interesting
That's good that you find Moghalu interesting . I like Sowore. I would advise that you give it thought and decide for sure if you are going to vote for him or not. If you don't vote, let it be because you don't believe in any of the candidates. It is understandable.

However, the idea of an election is for you to vote a candidate you think is fit for the job. It is not about who has the chance to win.
Look at all those years Buhari's followers kept voting for him even though he kept losing. They are the reason the upper class people later went to support him. If you don't vote for your Moghalu, people will never know his electoral value and support him in the future.

Vote for the right candidate. It is not about whether they will win. It is about fitness. Satisfy your conscience and give hope to him and others like him in the future.

So why are we not voting for Sowore...

Because, let's be honest, Sowore does not have the support that he needs to become President.

Outside Lagos, Abuja and some other Nigerian cities , how many people know Sowore? Or the other Nigerian candidates.

The truth is, in politics, there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. If you want things to change in Nigeria...vote for Atiku (yes, I have said it, and I hate myself for saying it, and personally, I won't be voting for any PDP or APC candidate)...because at the end of the day, we have 4 years to get rid of him if he does not perform.

And if Atiku's replacement does not perform, we vote them out, and keep on doing so, until the elite and the leaders see we mean business...then things will improve.

And most of us talking...how many of us are agitating for the candidates of the other small parties, like SDP, YPP, et al.? We all sit down, moan about how bad things are...then go and vote for the same old same old...and pretend we did it in Nigeria's interest.

Ah well....either way, Nigeria is in for a long and gloomy time till we wake up.
Your comment is all over the place. What is your position?

Will you personally vote for Sowore? If not, why?

Dear lettered Nigerian, nobody said marijuana is not generating income cos it is, even in Nigeria.
The point is a country like Nigeria lacks the proper orientation of use of the commodity, we also lack necessary resources to monitor and control crime that potentially may arise from legalising it, there is no standard health service ( Rehabs, psychiatric hospitals) in place for users that potentially will be affected.
Until we are able to do these things, marijuana will not be legalised. And if your still not convinced, go and call police! cheesy
And Swore said he won't do all the things you mentioned before legalising marijuana?

Nice write up. However, the devil we know is better than the angel we do not know. I re-collect Okorocha and Fayose declaring their intent to be president of Nigeria. It's very interesting that their performance as governors is enough of a Lesson to us all to ensure that such men should always be avoided.

It is unfair on Nigerian youths for Sowore to show up and spew up desperate though laudable promises without showing any 'skin in the game'. My people say that it sounds sweet and easy to cook vegetable by simply describing the process.

Sowore should learn the ropes and be tested on a smaller stage like the Barrack Obama you referred to who went to the Senate and even George Weah of Liberia learned the ropes too.

If you jump up, you will definitely come down. But if you grow up, you will stay there.
There are many people who held no political position before becoming presidents.

1. Nelson Mandela of South africa
2. Berlusconi of Italy
3. Donald Trump and four other American Presidents.

The list goes on and on. You don't need to have political experience to become president. What is more important is ability to manage and move people. The people who create constitutions all over the world know this that is why they often don't include political experience as a criterion for becoming president.

Experience is important, but not necessarily political. There are people who even prefer candidates that have not been a part of the usually corrupt political system. An example is mandela who was not a part of the corrupt system who did well and Zuma who had experience with the corrupt system and messed the country up.
