Seun: It is true that scientists have not figured out how life could come from nonliving matter. This doesn't invalidate evolution. Enlightened religious people believe that God set the process in motion by creating the first life form and left the rest to evolution, which is a much better view. Since when has what people believe got anything to do with whether it is fact. Enlightened people once believed the earth was flat that if you traveled too far you would fall off the earth. Now we know better. |

Lennycool: Its funny how every tom, dick and harry think they can just write DEBUNKED next to a scientifically established theory that has been studied for decades and claim they are right. If it's debunked as you say, you should submit your findings to the scientific community, and also provide an alternative to it. Believing in the bible as a source of scientific truth will get humans no where. How long something has been believed is not proof that it is fact. The bible has existed for millennia but you don't believe it, do you? You know there are scientific "facts" that were later proved wrong. |

Seun: No, this is not true. The earth is very rich in silicon (in the form of silica and silicates) which is essentially not present in the human body. The misconception that man is made from dust is understandable if we accept that the story was written by a man who didn't know any science. Any science? |

Lennycool: Why would anyone chose to be gay in Nigeria were it can get you killed! You theory that they were abused is unsupported by any evidence. Homosexuals have been lynched from time ancient times. Nigeria own small. Still they couldn't stop them just like people take cocaine even though the penalties are severe. Go to homosexual fora. For your health I hope you don't. Not the ones where they are defending themselves from the rest of humanity. The ones where they are hooking up, you'll here those stories. This is common. Boys or girls hostels priests with alter boys Monks in monastries Uncles or aunts molestation when they were minors An older adult of same sex when they were boys or girls. A rich benefactor such as the Almajiris and Alhaji relationships. Abroad children from dysfunctional families who spent time in in boys homes. These are the situation from which many homosexuals emerged. |

jonbellion: you are comparing a homosexual to an addict Sooo you actually think they just decided to start at point in their lives like drugs Many were abused as minors so the issue of choice does not come in for them. This includes those also who were abused by a fellow minor. Many of them don't say this anymore because now it's normal but they know its the truth. If you repeat anything long enough, people will believe it. Like the holy spirit crap. That's the way I see the 'they were born with it' defence. It's gaining acceptance because important people are saying it not because it is fact. |

Isn't it unfair seun, just because I am a homosexual I get banned for defending myself against homophobes, while they go unscathed (ban -wise i mean )inspite the insults throw at me
For those who think being gay is choice? Lemme ask something. Who chooses to be demeaned, Oppressed, condemned, hurt, and in most cases killed or Lynched? Why would anyone make that choice?! If you think been a gay is a choice feel free to turn yourselves into one right this moment
So much hate and bigotry has blinded so many they can't even make use of logical reasoning.. Keep wallowing in ignorance. Addicts make those choices. I don't hate you. I hate misinformation. |

Lennycool: You're even taking us back. Homosexuality is not a choice for most people. Get that into your head. For you to be addicted to a drug you have to take it first. But imagine if you were born addicted to it. By the way there is no comparison between homosexuality and drug addiction. Be respectful when you talk to me. I have not been disrespectful to you. Where did you get your "most people" statistic from? Can you cite a source that has conducted a survey? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Homosexuality Wrong? by WORLDPEACE(m): 5:41pm On Nov 11, 2016 |
Lennycool: Stealing is a social necessity for them, a way of escaping poverty or death. If Homosexuality was a choice non in nigeria would be gay, especially when the alternative was safer. Why would a large percentage of our population risk their survival for something they can easily change? In the end you believe what you want, you're free to hate, I see now that you've exhausted all your arguments. This conversation is over. Addictions are hard to change. People have died from porn addiction even though they knew it was ruining their lives. People have died from alcohol addiction even though they new it was deadly. people die from meth overdose even though they knew it was an inevitable eventuality. People go days without eating, only constantly staying high because they have lost control of the power over their minds and bodies to drugs and then starve to death. It is not easy to change like every other addiction, but I know one wouldn't advise a person to start drug abuse because people can't stop it easily. If anything you would tell them not to start at all. |

I'm not commenting on the morality of bestiality; just observing that it's not at all comparable to homosexuality. I can assure you the line will get thinner and thinner. In a few decades it will be one and the same. |

I think it means that you are qualified to submit your bankable business plan and access the loan. Amelian: Anything worthwhile requires work, one cannot run away from adding extra efforts to. Make things work in life.. Be it farming, be it making of clothes, refining of pure gold, surgeries on patients, even maintaining of birth requires work. Everything in life requires work, if u want it to last long. Then taking more than one can chew requires wisdom. As well in following what the heart needs.. Cause the heart can be tricked to fall in love and to trust. That's where one applies wisdom and watch out for potholes that could either destroy or mare one for life by trusting another. Wisdom too is another tool, one must apply when Inlove ...oresle odikwa very risky , if the heart chooses a questionable character I think women are often not honest with themselves and men when they say the heart chooses who it loves. The heart loves what the mind considers valuable. Women do consciously decide who they fall in love with. At the moment they are falling in love they might not be aware of it but long before then they had known the kind of person they would like to love. This is the reason why many women are often attracted to the same set of men because these men tick the same set of boxes. If the heart chose what it loves every man would have his fair amount of women attracted to him. But the reality is that a few men have access to most of the women while the rest have to scramble for what's left. There are the those at the top of the food chain and the rest are bottom feeders. |

cloudgoddess I personally wouldn't say "supposed to be". It's good you spoke for yourself here. You don't have to leave nairaland to see what I am saying. Religious people often defend their faith by painting a picture of the ideal as opposed to what is prevalent. This is based on the premise that talking about a topic frequently/with intensity is something only religiously motivated people do. Religious, obsessive and insane people do. When a person goes on and on about something every single day, chirping like a bird, it can be sickening, repulsive and counterproductive. A little knowledge of psychology should tell us that you don't necessarily get a point across by repeating it every single day. Sometimes just showing people that you are a well rounded person having other interests could make a person want to listen to you when you talk. But if it's a divine command you are heeding you've got to do it like the lord says, right? Science by it's very nature is the complete opposite though. Science welcomes change as long as it gets us closer to a good answer. It's a body of consistently transforming knowledge - not a rigid dogma. Science can't be wrong. Scientists can be wrong. Whenever science was wrong there was something unscientific done by a "scientist". Because he is a human being he is prone to what everyone of us is prone to; bias, prejudice, glory seeking, groupthink and so on. Giving too much weight to what scientists say is like conferring on them infallibility like people do the Vatican and pope. |

Amelian: The heart chooses whom to love and Sometimes gets what it yearns for? loving so many people at once is unrealistic.. It's better u call it lust after so many people. Not love many people at once. If u love a particular person, it's not hard work.. Your actions simply flow with ease. It's easy. But for a player, it's hard work. Lusting is effortless but loving requires effort; it requires work. When the initial bliss of early romance wears off, what you have left is work. If the heart chooses who you love don't you think it can put you in a position where you'll take on more than you can handle? |

Amelian: Love is a feeling, you can't explain but with love u wouldn't want the other person to suffer. With love, you will always want to see your partner smile.. When he's sad about certain dissapointments, you are worried.. When he's happy, u will feel great joy seep into your body as he explains his achievements and joys to you. With love, you want to protect what u have.. With love, u ain't letting go but if you have to let go? If and only if, your partner desperately wants to let go, all because u want your 2nd half to be happy.. With love, no mountain is to high to climb.. With love your struggles, your pains is shared and become less to bear.. In fact, love is all that matters... As long as both of you are focused and working towards one goal.. The sky is the ultimate. I love to be inlove It looks like a lot of work loving someone. You can't expend that amount of energy on many persons at once. How do you choose who to love? |
