Being poor is not an excuse for prostitution. I had it tough while growing up but never prostituted myself so poverty is out of it, in my own opinion. Society and Greed, Yes. Parents have alot to do here. We need to train our kids well, most importantly the girl child, and let them be aware of the dangers involved in prostitution. The Society also have a role to play. If there is a serious penalty for those caught prostituting, the givers and takers, i think it will reduce. as in the case of the reduction in number of prostitutes on Abuja streets as they are arrested at sight now.
