some student's on-campus accommodations
It says a lot that these hostels look more organised, decent and well-preserved than the hostels in the regions premier university, UNN!

I saw pics of the dilapidated FRANCO hostels a few months back and i wasn’t happy!

To stop all these madness ehn. Private firms like the banks should conduct elections in Nigeria via BVN.

If you do not have a bank account, you should not be allowed to vote!

You must first contribute to the economy before u have a say/vote about the government

Allow the banks to withdraw a thousand naira from all eligible voters in Nigeria, it would ensure the poor people kick against election malpractice as they appear to be vulnerable

By the time one person receive like 600 alert of 1k each, body go tell am
So how will the hordes of underage almajiris up north vote? Not forgetting the fact most of the banks are controlled by southern Christians, so the muslim north can allege being disadvantaged.
PoliticsRe: INEC Threatens To Cancel Election Results Without Card Readers by Xander85: 5:19pm On Mar 05, 2019
Validated:
Card readers were not used in atleast 10 LGA in Niger State and some people are claiming Election was free, fair and credible.

Surely, only accredited votes pulled from Card readers are credible. With this Buhari may not be credited by more than 5 million in all 19 Northern States.

Any votes than CANNOT be supported by evidential use of Card Reader is to recorded as ZERO
You make a good point. But they’d rather see the country go up in flames than allow such a ruling to fly! Without those fictitious millions of votes garnered up north Buhari would struggle to hit 5 million countrywide!

It looks more like Rivers State. Their settlement pattern seems unorganized with their Obi converted to stores and hostels inside native compounds. Typical Igbo villages are finer and better organized in spaced compounds.
It did look disorganised and compact with hardly any greenery! I think part of the reason is the villagers mad rush to take commercial advantage of the university next door!

This disorganisation of villages, towns and cities due to commerce and industry is a feature you see all over Nigeria, not just the south-east!

amaniro:
I laugh at people who think the fight is between APC and PDP. it's beyond that. This fight is the struggle for political prowess, Religious, Tribal anything you can call it. It's sha not based on those two parties. Some southerners are really very dull to not read in between lines.
I’ve analysed the reason for this.

Up north (core muslim north specifically) they’re more of a cohesive unit and have a unifier in Islam. Islam dictates pretty much everything in their region; there’s little or no difference between politics and religion where Islam is concerned. This is why you have the Caliphs as both the religious and political leaders! This gives them an edge over the south and allows them to come together and rally for a common goal even though they’re from different ethnicities!

Down south, we’re more disparate in our religions as well as ethnicities, and Christianity is more about ones personal relationship with God...having little to do with politics. Even when it takes a stand on a political issue, it’s not obligatory for Christians to adhere to any proclamations made!

Colonial Britain noticed this too, and used it to their advantage....hence the direct and indirect rule in different parts of the country during the colonial era.

Because niger deltans are fools
Sadly, that’s the long and short of the matter!

They don’t know who’s really for them and who’s against them. This is why during the uncivil war, it was easy for outsiders to come in and sow the seeds of discord, suspicion and animosity among ethnic groups in the then Eastern Region who had up till that point been living peacefully together for centuries!

Chubhie:
40 Nigerians dead is enough to declare national mourning. It seems book harem have done change of name. Which one is bandits again?
In saner climes, when 40 citizens are slaughtered like nama at the abbatoir, the entire country would come to a halt and emergency measures will be initiated as well as flags flown at half-mast and a national day of mourning declared!

Not in Nigeria! In Nigeria we read such news now while jejely sipping a nice hot cup of tea, and casually turn the page to look for some titillating news stories that would make us laugh! sad

These guys are not bandits. They are terrorist. Stop calling them bandits
I’ve asked this question before...what informs the tagging of the murderers in the north-west as bandits, while those in the north-east are tagged terrorists? Do they wear identification tags when going out to commit mayhem? huh

It’s all political! They tagged the north-west ones bandits so it wouldn’t look like terrorism has spread to the region/zone during the Buhari era! Remember they claim to have decimated and ‘technically defeated’ the bokos in the north-east, so agreeing that the problem has not been contained and has in fact now spread to other parts of the country is bad press and not good for the image of Buhari as the ‘saviour of the north’! wink

Good points Curlieweed!

The meeting was done obviously before the outcome of the rigged elections were known. Sadly, Ohanezes’ calculations didn’t quite pan out as hoped!

The points you raised are germane, but we can be proactive in this regard only in the restructured federation Dr Nwodo was talking of; or alternatively, in our own country! Dr Nwodo talked of supporting Atiku and PDP due to their favourable stand on restructuring, but personally i don’t see any northern president or the northern elite agreeing to a change in the status-quo that would revert the political-economic structures of the country back to its pre-66 settings, thereby giving them a kick in the teeth and leaving them with the short end of the stick! If anything, Buhari forcing himself on Nigerians makes that dream even more distant and unachievable!

Buhari has an agenda to hold the south down while the north Arewa steals unmerited advantages over us in the political-economy of the country! A restructured Nigeria will dagbaru his plans, so as long as he’s the de-facto president we may just as well perish that thought of restructuring! Our only other options are to focus on achieving Biafra or we hunker down and try and ride out the next 4 years, hoping minimal damage would be done to our region and people by the bigot-in-chief sat in Aso-Rock!

Personally, i thought those thinking they could remove the desperate likes of Buhari, Oshiomole, El-Rufai, Amaechi, Tinubu, Keyamo, et-al just by using their PVCS were a bit naive and too trusting!

Former President Jonathan was a great threat to some prominent Northern politicians..

They knew that if these people acquire western education and get exposed like Jonathan wanted , one day they will wake up and Stone their leaders for keeping them in bondage.
Average northern politician hates the fact that amajiri is getting educated because they know once they are exposed it would be very difficult to influence them especially during electionering period.. The decay that's happening in the North is an advantage to their politicians.
One amajiri once told me that the Hunger under Buhari's administration is the will of Allah .... I had to give up at that point..
Hehehehe grin grin grin

Can picture you having a heated discussion with him and the moment he makes that unbelievably dumb statement, the fight just drains out of you as you stare back at him in disbelief! I mean, it's clear at this point that you ain't gonna get anywhere with him so you may just as well just give up! wink

LOL. Always needy. Never self-sufficient to pursue a course. If you want to be taken serious, recall your house of reps, senate officials. All your public office olders in the ministries or by appointments should quit & head back east. Every ibo should move back & all your ilks employed in the FG in one way or the other need to withdraw. Indicate your total lack of interest in Nigeria first & other regions will 'help' you with a leflendum. Don't pull Yoruba into your struggles, each region has its own destiny. Show us you are VERY serious about your Biafra destiny & not just Yoruba will help you, the whole world will.
Can't count the number of times i've heard you sneaky mofos use this line!

Last time we moved back en-mass to the east what happened? Didn't you nasty lot send your genocidal armies after us like Pharaoh sent his armies after the Israelites?

Recall our house of reps, bla-bla-bla....that's a bit premature, don't you think? Recall them, meanwhile you scheming bigots will still control our oyel and gas, and your thieving military, police and other officials will still be all over the east collecting customs and federally collected revenue....not to mention 'egunje' at roadblocks! Nice try!

How many more of our youth have to be murdered in cold blood by your trigger-happy and murderous army before you get the message we're sick and tired of sharing the same country with you scum? See this fool wanting to act like he doesn't know Ndigbo/Biafrans have been agitating for a separate existence from his bigoted and hateful arsse!

I can agree with your stand on Ndigbo returning back to the east and recalling their reps from the national assembly only if a date is fixed for a UN supervised referendum, and you get your leeching fingers off our oyel and gas! Shikena!

She made mention of Indians making money and travel back to their country but failed to mention that they are not Nigerians. Igbos are Nigerians and the law gives them the right to participate in a electoral process in Lagos state. If you don't like it go to court to challenge that law that makes them Nigerians. Just like the oil in the ss and se belong to Nigerians, lagos belong to us all. I encourage igbos to come to turn up in mass coming saturday to exercise their right.
These guys are so paranoid....not to mention, two-faced!

If they're tired of 'one Nigeria', then join IPOB to agitate for a referendum to determine it's future!

All this Igbo-this-Igbo-that is all about the Lagos elections and their fear Igbos may vote en-mass for Agbaje (a Yoruba man oh) thereby loosening their godfathers' monkey-fist grip on the Lagos treasury!

Losers should go burn in hell. This is your destiny, your fate and your eternity.
Rigging was never an issue when it helped PDP hold its grip on power. The best rigger takes it all when igbows were having it all good at the center.
Suddenly your brain juggle into activity soon after losing in an election that was considerably adjudged free, fair and reasonably credible.
If igbows find themselves at the short end of the stick as a result of their own gullible decision, then y'all should use a rope instead of exhausting your energies crying in futility.
Dude, zip it! A curse coming from a spawn of satan like you is like water off a ducks back.....ineffective ASF! shocked

You're here yapping about PDP this and that! How many of the devils in PDP are now in your party of saints today? There's as much difference between PDP and APC as there is between six and half-a-dozen....both sides of the same coin! If anything, the nastiest and most remorseless looters and riggers have now ported to your party of saints and are now deemed to be 'born again'!

You say PDP rigged abi? Assuming for the sake of argument we go along with your premise, what then is the change you schmucks have been mouthing off like a parrot on crack?

You guys say you've done marvelously well in governance since 2015 abi? Then why toe the line of rigging with the excuse that PDP rigged and so you're just paying them back in their own coin? Why not trust the strength of your conviction and go to the polls for a free and fair contest? After all, you lot are now in control of all the security outfits and infrastructure so you can enforce sanity in the process if you really wanted to!

Anybody that judged that farce of last Saturday as a free and fair election needs a brain surgeon and a new moral compass! A election in which rigging and tilting the playing field in favour of the despot Buhari started way before election day is what you're calling free and fair?

*Your god didn't sign the electoral bill into law because it wouldn't have allowed you shameless lot access to the results in a slow and manageable manner that in turn would have allowed you to cook the figures as they gradually came in to give Buhari the rigged victory that's now giving you a stiff bone'r!

*Knowing you had devilish designs on the election process, you now circumvented the laid down procedure to remove a whole Chief Justice of the Federation (the head of a supposedly independent arm of gov't), and replaced him with a compliant sharia judge from the core muslim north!

*You appointed a INEC chairman from the same ethnicity (and possibly region) as Buhari...a reversal of the GEJ era when the INEC chairman was selected from an entirely different region and ethnicity from that of the president, and who GEJ said he had never met before!

*You rigged the voters register...filling it with underaged almajiris and illegals from neigbouring Niger, as well as rigged the PVC collection process so it was difficult for southerners to collect (that's if the PVC hadn't been secretly destroyed or sold off) while up north they were even calling people to come collect theirs!

*On the eve of the election, you sent thugs to go destroy the election materials for an entire state in the south-east...making the already difficult logistics problems in the zone even more dire!

*The card readers in the south were slow to accredit...that's when they worked at all!

*Thugs went to PDP strongholds and scattered the entire process...in some cases, even burning materials and votes already cast!

Dude i could go on and on, but i don't have all night!

Nigeria is a disgrace and the butt of all jokes in the civilised world! The sooner you guys humble yourselves and accept things just need to change (and i don't mean the fake ojoro change your god brought in 2015), the better for the entire country!
