Yakubu is the worst. Maurice Iwu presided when our democracy was young with little electoral law. INEC budget was also very low. He did his bit though performed woefully. As for Yakubu, with a budget running into hundreds of billions and he can only deliver this sham, he deserve the worst INEC chairman.

With Iwu, the expectations weren't high. But with Yakubu, Nigeria was supposed to be on an upward trajectory and the expectations were higher.

The person in Aso Rock now is supposed to be Gods' gift to Nigerians....that's how his minions tell it, so things generally were supposed to be better than was the case under past leaders they say were ineffectual and kwarrupt! We now understand the nature of the 'change' they promised in 2015!

I so despise what Nigeria has become! This is one of the reasons i empathise with Mazi Kanu when he calls it a fuc/ked up zoo!

Going the ‘official’ route is exactly what Buhari and APC are expecting the opposition and any aggrieved party to do, because they’ve rigged the entire process in their favour!

Only a revolution can get rid of that man and the evil minions surrounding him, but sadly a revolution isn’t possible in Nigeria and Buhari knows it! This is what is giving him confidence that he can get away with anything....even murder, and all anyone can do it is blow empty grammar or go to court!

This is why apc will do anything(including phone calls to the electoral officers) to drag an election into a rerun; to enable them mobilise thugs and touts to harrass and destroy the votes.

What i don’t understand is why they can’t effectively police the area! It’s not like the election is taking place all over the state or country that would make the police resources spread thinly! This goes to prove the accusation that these thugs have the backing of the APC run gov’t (both state and federal)!

I’v given up on this country! It’s irredeemable!

Was thinking the same thing! Had there been two northern muslim judges delivering judgment, i can bet it would have gone the other way in favour of APC! Most of them are closet APC/Buhari/Islam apologists no matter how they may try to throw you off the scent! This is why Buhari illegally suspended Onnoghen, and replaced him with his ‘brother’!

This is a good piece but every community must have a rallying point as in a leader for good governance.This is why every nation,household,business etc has a head,leader, CEO etc.
I laugh at times when Igbos say they do not have leaders,kings....that was in the olden days but you have now because you are more civilized.

A man is a political animal.It is very disheartening to hear some Igbos say they do not need political power but business power or whatever.
Politics control businesses all over the world.Every rich man from Bezos to Dangote depends on politics/power to survive.and grow one way or the other.

You cannot succeed in business when the power to be is against you.
When Jakande wanted to do the Metroline in Lagos,Buhsri who was in power then stopped that laudable project,when Aguiyi Ironsi saw thatvthe SW was growing at a rapid state more than the rest of the country,he introduced unitary system of government whereby almost everything is controlled from the centre.
Do not underestimate or compare power/politics with business.He who has the power,has all.Ask Kalu.Ask Abiola.
Igbos should try to build bridges to obtain power so that they do not become permanent slaves.

But the Yoruba had the window of opportunity during the uncivil war, and period leading up to it, to revert back to the status-quo you say Aguiyi Ironsi truncated because of his envy of the Yoruba economic success. Why didn’t they seize the opportunity....esp’ seeing as the hegemonic caliphate was vulnerable and looking for allies at the time!?

Better yet, you could have seized the opportunity to secede and rid yourselves of your ‘burden’ for ever!
