Buhari can’t separate the country even if he wants to you stupid fool. Those that have been beaten for Biafra deserve it because they are gluttons for punishment, they just like to chop koboko for fun.

If you really want to seperate, do your research and put the proper work towards it. But you people really don’t, you are found in every nook and corners of the Nigeria that you hate so much lol, leeching off the people you insult on a daily basis shior!

What's this diseased swine on about!? If you are gonna quote me, is it too much to ask that you at least try to make sense?

Just how the fuc/k did you manage to misconstrue my post for a demand that Buhari 'separate the country'? You have to be on a whole new level of dumb to make that conclusion! Since when did demanding for respect for the fundamental rights of freedoms of association and speech, as well as to agitate....since when did demanding for all these equate to asking for that vegetable in Aso Rock to disintegrate the shithole Nigeria!?

You scumbags can't pretend you're not aware of the demands of Ndigbo because you've spent scarce resources responding to them, and murdered innocent Igbo youth in cold blood while at it! One of the hallmarks of a failed state is the state murder of demonstrators without any questions being asked or any repercussions!

Neither i nor Ndigbo/Biafra need advice on how to go about our bid for secession for a nasty, unbridled bigot and parasitic toerag like you! You lot know about 'research and putting in the proper work' as you so smugly advice, yet your shithole of a country is the headquarters of poverty in the entire universe....yet your almajiri children are hiding amongst livestock to smuggle themselves into the south-east! Go figure!

Until we finally get our freedom, Igbos and Biafrans are unfortunately still Nigerians! So asking us to leave any part of Nigeria now amounts to placing the cart before the horse! Moreso, when you ungrateful, greedy bastards are still gorging yourselves fat on our oyel and gas!

There are pictures of UNN on the net. Probably you never bothered to look!

I know exactly what this thread is for....it's for bigots and Igbo haters to post negative stuff about UNN! Knock yourselves out! wink

I know what the overwhelming desire of Igbos is....it wasn't to see a Atiku/Obi win in 2015, and it certainly isn't a desire to see a Atiku presidency in 2023! Igbos have demonstrated, been beaten, arrested, terrorised and murdered for what they want! It's unfortunate we don't ask questions because of religion, tribalism and hatred to oppress other people. A country rich with intellectual but allow thugs, criminals and other unqualified people to get close to the corridors of power. That's the Nigerian politics a particular region is accusing the south east of not knowing how to play.

Look where 'knowing how to play politics', 'building bridges' and 'sophistication' has gotten the country as a whole! They accuse Ndigbo of having none of these, but just see where Nigeria is today now they (and the allies they're propping up) have deployed all these qualities to 'capture' power!

From the beginning it was all about greed, ethnicitity (trying to get power at the centre and keep Igbos on the sidelines) and religion.....coupled with the insane and inexplicable lust for power by certain visionless individuals who see politics as do-or-die and winner-takes-all!

If you had any common sense left in that your jew loving skull, you would have seen how the Jew media is desperately trying to paint him as one benevolent and honest all around good guy towards reinforcing their rhetoric that black people are negatively profiled by the police.

There is already a group of Jew puppets in the form of celebrities that have started a petition to defund the police. Already, the media has painted the police is evil and this has impacted on how the police address the criminal behavior being displayed by the ''peaceful riots''.

Already US cops have capitulated to the mob and are now unwilling to do their job because of fear of being accused of using excessive force or labelled racist. Even the DAs in all these democrat states and cities are refusing to prosecute these rioters and looters and ordering their immediate release.

Can you imagine how demoralizing that is for the average police officer?

They are able to achieve all the anarchy that we are witnessing by continually labeling cops as brutal and racists and to entrench this they must refer to George Floyd's killing and his purported innocence and clean background.

But you are an ignorant nigger who can not see beyond 2 feet in front of you.

You come across as being quite daft! Dude, fuc/k off with your silly conspiracy theories....i couldn't care less!

You would do well to analyse issues like this on a case-by-case basis and try to desist from pigeonholing or tarring entire groups or ethnicities with the same brush!

You are bang out of order splashing porn pics of a man just recently murdered in cold blood on a public forum just because you feel your darling US police force are hurting from the bad publicity! FEGNO:
It is my considered view that this bridge is an example of everything wrong with Nigeria on one hand and the relationship between Nigeria and its accomodation of the igbos. There is everything wrong in the fact that a bridge which in normal climes should be a silent and forgone issue taken for granted in its construction is rather used now as a propaganda and political tool to make a false proclamation that the igbos are well accomodated in the Nigerian State. And so anytime there is a comment on these issues, the Niger bridge project is pulled out as if to say, you igbos are getting a bridge. What else do you want? It is now an Eldorado of sorts to signify all inclusiveness and the magnanimity of an oligarchy. A favor of sorts from a feudal master.
I get sick seeing the pictures of the bridge works and the manner in which it is deployed. If one is truthful to oneself, which other civil project in Nigeria has been used politically as this bridge has been? A mere civil works garbed in so much propaganda and used for a sickening self serving and dishonest objective. To show what is not there.
What a great pity and damn this bridge.

I was also watching the video and i also wondered if you have an area like this mapped out in Awka, and they have all these numerous estates planted inside the different sections, o'l boy even Enugu, Victoria Island or Abuja cannot rival the beauty of Awka. Notice that every road already had flowers and trees planted in the median! So, they are truly planning to take the world by storm when this new abakaliki city becomes fully developed!

I think solid development or not truly boils down to quality visionary leaders. Else, how can the poorest state end up building the best and most modern state capital in Nigeria?

I think at this stage we can all agree Governor Umahi is the most visionary and best performing Governor in Nigeria....especially when you consider the paucity of funds he has to work with! It's all the more interesting when you consider his contractors and labour are mainly localised within the state.

Watching the clip, it also occurred to me how wonderful Awka or Owerri would have looked if all those estates with nice houses were located in a new, planned and serviced environment like Centenary City, Abakaliki.

Abakaliki in particular and Ebonyi in general would accelerate and give the rest states a run for their money once they finish all their ongoing projects like the airport, stadium and mall! Adequate and guaranteed power supply would be the game changer!

The most reliable identifier is education, seeing as there's a direct correlation between education and poverty. Thus, if Igbo states were faltering, as you see it, then you'd see Igbo states performing worse education wise.

The mere fact that Igbo states perform the best. With all five states finishing in the top 10, with 4 of them typically finishing in the top 6, Says otherwise.

In the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000s, the transport sector was firmly in the hands of the igbos. Alas, everyone has woken up, modernization and competition has made the sector revenue coming to the igbos drop considerably.

The Auto sector is still thriving but with the coming of technology and ease of import, people are going to the source to get some of these goods themselves. Another hit on us again.

The Commerce sector has been heavily attacked from everywhere. We now have very strong competition in these sectors and it is killing businesses.

What is the problem? The igbos do not control the economy of Nigeria anymore. We are not in control and our region do not hold any strong advantage presently in the scheme of things. If we ask ourselves, what does southeast have that Nigeria depends on? Nothing. There is something about being unimportant. The only importance of the east is it’s people and the people’s capacity are being challenged continuously.

The igbo to survive really need to devise a strategy of total control of the sub Saharan market. We can be in control without having the capital city in our hands. We can create the biggest economy in Africa if we strategize very well.

There is a misused power in Nigeria that needs to be taken but if only we plan to take it, our freedom will surely be taken from us. Remember that every policy in Nigeria has not favored the igbo people in recent times. It has strangled us in no small measures that we will need to create a new route towards economic development.

I found out many of us in this thread have spent most of our times trying to micromanage our small development when others are eating fat on the total revenue of the country. Do we still have really big businesses in the east that can develop and generate funds for the region?

Do we have healthcare system that take care of us during our bad times and also redirect the over 1billion dollar’s Nigerians spend on health tourism around the world?

Do we have the capacity to create an economic giant from igbo land? Or should we maintain our state of economic comatose.

If we do not do something right now, we will regret it. I have always said it “our best times should be tomorrow not our yesteryears.”

Self-determination (either as an independent republic or in a truly federal Nigerian setup) is the only way Ndigbo can reach their full potential and be in a position to fashion out favourable policies in the sectors you highlighted! Anything short of this would amount to nothing more than more-of-the-same....a continuation of the status-quo which has seen bigots, Igbo haters and envious mofos continue to fashion out and impliment policies that are unfavourable to the Igbo businessman and AlaIgbo!

The current situation of meetings of south-east governors every now and again that never gets us anywhere; having Igbo representatives in the national assembly that are there just to make up the numbers; occassionally going to Abuja to bow before Buhari and beg him for what is constitutionally ours; each south-east state doing their own thing independent of the other four; etc......with all this still in place, trying to achieve even 20% of what you've mentioned above would be a excercise in futility! Abuja (whether by ommission, commission or by stealth) will always be there to place a spanner in the works. You think it's just by coincidence, there's no working int'l airport in the south-east since 1970; no effective and viable seaport in the south-south, equal to Apapa port, which can service our industrial/commercial cities in the south-east like Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi; no working rail line in the south-east and south-south, while the south-west and north-west get preferential treatment; no federal attention given to our industrial/commercial centres like was and is being done for Lagos, Kaduna and Kano; no president of Igbo extraction since 1966.....you think all this and more just happened to happen?

There has to be a solid foundation in place before all these ideas you mentioned can germinate and yield fruit! The cart has to be put before the horse! smiley

A trip down posh Onwe Rd, Abakaliki.

I'm guessing this would be their GRA. I'm so impressed with how tidy, green and posh the area looks. So surprised with how good Abakaliki looks generally, because the NBS says Ebonyi is at the top of the poverty league in Nigeria. What i'm seeing doesn't lend credence to this assertion. Even some of the states they say are at the top of the prosperity/IGR league table would struggle to march what i'm seeing from Ebonyi as a whole! Some analysts like to use IGR as a marker for a states prosperity, but i reckon that's a flawed tool for measuring for a number of reasons....but i digress!

When the state eventually gets their airport, they would be unstoppable.

Anyone know what that huge building shown towards the end is?

AuntLaVIV:
Experts urge govs to set up laboratories As the COVID-19 pandemic rages in the country, 20 states are yet to have testing laboratories. Some of the states experiencing community transmission are among the top 10 with the disease.

This is happening as Nigeria’s testing capacity still trails behind what obtains in neighbouring African countries. As at Friday, Nigeria had 26 laboratories spread iacross 17 states. The country has also tested 40, 043 samples. This is far below the target set by the Federal Government to have about 68 test centres for COVID-19. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its strategy document published on April 15, projected establishing 68 testing centres and two mobile laboratories within 45 days.

States without COVID-19 laboratories have lamented that they encounter hurdles sending samples to Abuja or other neighbouring states, as well as long waiting time for results. They said the absence of testing centres was one of their major challenges in the ongoing fight against the virus. Some states have to wait for over a week to get test results, with some of their drivers getting infected in the process of transporting samples.

Checks by Daily Trust Saturday revealed that Akwa Ibom, Benue, Bayelsa, Enugu, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Niger, Jigawa, Yobe, Ekiti, Bauchi, Ondo, Zamfara, Abia, Taraba, Kogi, Cross River, Katsina, Gombe, Kwara have no COVID-19 testing laboratories. Some states have laboratories in hospitals or private facilities that could be upgraded for COVID-19 testing, however, that has not been done till date.

Ogun State, for instance, has established a molecular laboratory but still sends samples to Osun because it awaits NCDC accreditation. The state is in close proximity with Lagos, which has the highest number of COVID-19 cases. However, some states can boast of two or three laboratories.

They are Kano, Ogun, Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kaduna, Sokoto, Edo, Anambra, Borno, Osun, Plateau , Oyo, and Ebonyi, among others. They, however, said there was minimal support from the NCDC or the Federal Government in setting up or funding most of the laboratories. In Gombe State, there is no testing laboratory for COVID-19. Here, samples are sent to the NCDC in Abuja for daily test. The state’s focal officer on COVID-19 response, Dr Mohammed Kwami, said the test results usually come out in at least 48 hours, after which they are scanned and sent back to the Special Task Force on COVID-19 secretariat.

He said taking the samples to Abuja on a daily basis was not convenient, but added that they are using the channel as a temporary measure, pending when the state would get its own laboratory.
https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/covid-19-20-states-yet-to-have-testing-laboratories.html

Our region should take the issue of this pandemic seriously.

Anambra and Ebonyi have COVID-19 testing labs. The Anambra one is private, but not sure if the Ebonyi one is state or federal enabled.

Why am i not surprised that Abia and Imo don't have any! Those two states have the unenviable record of being the two worst governed states in the south-east!
