If South Korea backed by US is progressing
And southern American backed by the US is not
Why are you blaming US
What of Nigeria backed by many world powers nko

You're getting things muddled up a bit.

I was only saying that as an off-shoot of the cold-war between the US and the USSR after WW-II, that the Korean peninsular was divided between the two world powers at the time. My post was on the reason the US was backing South Korea, and not why some countries the US supports do well economically while others don't. There are many factors (mainly domestic/local) that come into play to determine why one country the US support does well while another doesn't.

South Korea, Japan, Singapore and UAE are prosperous because they don't have their heads in the sand....thinking that quota-system, federal character and handing over their country to some backward, islamofascist supremacists is such a good idea!

These ones have probably even stolen pictures from somewhere in the East calling it Abeokuta. Who doesn't know Abeokuta? kiki

I know what your aim is on this thread! You're not Igbo....probably Yoruba (or Fulani), and you just made this post to make it look like Igbos are attacking you guys so that you can start the abuse and dick-measuring with the excuse that it's the Igbos that started it!

Why can't you guys just create a thread showcasing your cities....discuss amongst yoursleves and leave it at that! Must you create a thread with the intention to use it for a dragging match with the 'okoros'? It smacks of a serious case of childishness!

THE THING WITH A MAN LIKE MADUKA IS THAT EVERYTHING IS PLANNED.

NOW THAT HE HAS DECIDED TO BE GOV, WE BETTER ELECT HIM SO HE CAN MOVE TO THE NEXT STAGE OF HIS AGENDA.

IF WE DONT HE MAY LOSE INTEREST.

We should be thinking of Anambra as a whole moving to the next agenda to build on what Obi and Obiano have put in place!

I prefer a Soludo as Governor, however a Maduka or Chidoka would come a close second!

Politics / Re: Anambra State Government Bars Journalist From Covering Anambra Airport Project by XANDERBOY85: 9:44am On Jun 18, 2020
For a variety of reasons, i don't support anyone just waltzing in to the project site and asking questions or taking pictures in the name of being a journalist. That doesn't mean i'm against asking the gov't questions on the status of ongoing works at the project site.....just do it through the relevant ministry or dept.

There are many negative people whose only interest is painting the entire project and state gov't in a bad light for political, personal or ethnic reasons.

Of course the promise to deliver the airport withing 18 months was made before the COVID pandemic, so no reaonable person would still hold the state gov't to that promise.

Then add they are family oriented. Thinking about the well being of your wife and children alone will ginger you to work harder or die trying.

I've noticed a similiarity between Igbos and Indians in the frugal and savy way they manage their finances. When starting off in any business they can suffer themselves today for a bigger gain tomorrow.

Ipobians are dilussioner and think most of us dont cross the niger bridge to see the big disgrace that lies in the other side

soveriegn wealth fund are created by self sustaining countries not some abuja allocation beggars with low IGR

Yeah.....it's our 'disgrace'! We didn't complain to you so why taking panadol for our 'headache' (apologies to Davido smiley )?

But for the Nigerian political-economy in place since the late 60s that has helped cover up your fuckup, you hateful, bigoted lot would have seen so much socio-economic dislocation that even Zimbabwe would look like paradise in comparison! This is why we don't hear any agitation for the breakup of this unworkable union that even your god Awo declared a 'mere geographical expression' more than 5 decades ago.....you think you can't survive without Nigeria!

You dare have the effrontery to advice the south-east.....a region that's been marginalised, cheated, had its hydrocarbon rich areas removed and placed in other non-Igbo states, and undermined by wicked bigots like you? All this, yet it has managed to hold its own in comparison to other regions! You have the temerity to advice such a blessed region when your own region needs such advice more?

The south-east hasn't produced a head of state since Ironsis' short spell in power; has only recently been given a regional int'l gateway with the coming of Goodluck Jonathan as President; has been denied adequate exploitation and benefit of the hydrocarbons God has blessed them with (even the ones you evil lot forgot to carve into Rivers state); has been ignored or placed on the back-burner when federally enabled infrastructure, institutions and other benefits are being distributed; etc, yet this plucky region and its people have managed to hold their head above the water and are doing comparatively well in all socio-economic developmental indices!

Your own state that has taken your diseased advice and doesn't have a sovereign wealth fund, but has spent all incoming receipts and invested in all the stuff you're advicing Anambra to invest in, are they now El-Dorado? How does your state now compare with Anambra that's part of a region that has suffered all the wicked ethno-religious inspired iniquities listed in the paragraph above yet still manages to soldier on by his grace?

It's ignorant fools like you that will advice people not to save until they have satisfied all their wants in life!

Isnt it absolute stupidity for a state with so much unemployment, zero power supply, and absolutely no infrastructure, to ware house 75 billion in a cormercial bank like diamond bank.. while bankers wont even borrow the money out to Anambra indegene but to the likes of Dangote and Rabiu of Biu groups

75billion would construct a gas pipeline from Imo gas flaring fields, build a 1000 Megawatt Thermal/gas turbine power station and give Anambra 24/7 electricity with enough to sell to other state while their industries drastically develop

.

The day Anambrans start taking advice from a chronic Igbo hater like you is the day i'll book them all a visit to see a shrink! Use your unsolicited advice to advance the interests of your own state or region.....either that or you can stick it where the sun don't shine!

Anambra, a state that has one of the lowest recurrent expenditure in the country and, as far as i know, is one of the best states in financial prudence and fulfilling its salary and pension obligations....this is a state you leave your own state to go and advice how to manage its funds!? If Anambrans see the need to have a sovereign wealth fund to save for future generations, how is that a bad thing? Did they tell you they're starving and so desperate for funds that if they don't spend the saved 95 billion naira that they will have socio-economic upheavals? Look how well they managed themselves during the lockdown compared to other states.

I never doubt the possibility of biafra breaking away besides Many countries have lost a part of it lets say sudan ,Ethiopia,Russia but I doubt if Nigeria will be dissolved by this event. Nigeria will still exist why?it's simple most inhabitants of Nigeria are not ready or interested in change its obvious here on nairaland .
almost every part of Nigeria seeks secession but only the Igbos are serious about it they have being on it for almost 50 years the rest ethnic groups lack the guts or are afraid of war in Fact what is keeping other ethnic groups in Nigeria Is not love no it's Is the fear of war and the stigma that comes after it nobody wants to experience what the Igbos experience in civil war its was bloody..

paraventure the Igbos breakaway from Nigeria today Nigeria will still remain and nothing else can dissolve it again they case will be like sudan and Ethiopia no African nation has ever totally dissolved after loosing a part of it.

Na so! Nigeria is not like 'every other African nation'!

Fact of the matter is, ANY ethnicity or region (besides the Fulani or core muslim north) that manages to break free from 'one Nigeria' will set the ball in motion that will see others rushing for the exit door too! Tell me what has changed now from when Awo declared (and i paraphrase), 'if by omisssion or commission Biafra is allowed to secede, the Yoruba nation wouldn't bother staying behind to see how 'one Nigeria' works out with just them and the north'! shocked

If since 1999 Nigeria had been confronted with a no-bullshit person like Mazi Kanu, who says it as it is no matter whose ox is gored, we could have been forced as a country to sit down and address our intractable issues once and for all! No Intel on any of these criminals but the can have quickly have declassified info on harmless group asking for self determination.Look @ the activities of these
bandits/terrorists across this nation & know who is really lying.Continue.Karma is a bitch

Since this useless man was sworn-in in 2015 after campaigning, amongst other things, on ending terrorism (they claimed GEJ either allowed it to fester or was directly promoting it because he hates the muslim north), things have not only gotten worse with the once relatively peaceful north-west now just as dangerous as the north-east, but we also find that despite the thousands that have been slaughtered in cold blood, we can't see any terrorists caught, convicted, and sentenced to death! All we ever hear about are terrorist camps being bombed with hundreds of terrorists killed in the process, or we hear of 'repentant' bokites going through rehabilitation and then released back into society!

Notice how they call the ones wrecking havoc in the north-west 'bandits'!? They do this so it can't be said that terrorism which was largely confined to the north-east during the GEJ years has now spread to the north-west! You now also hear of brazen attacks in the southern part of the country, but they've craftily called those ones 'herdsmen'!

A people (especially dumbass Nigerians) get the kind of leadership and governance they deserve!
