ProWalker:Your wailing about 'unregulated markets'...'coming to SW with 3 or more villagers'....etc, is at variance with your position that you should not be expected to actively push for Biafran secession! You see what i mean when i say your type are two-faced and hypocritical? Your not wanting to have anything to do with lending your voice (whether in a positive or negative way) to the Biafra bid for secession invariably means you're for 'one Nigeria'! Now this your 'one Nigeria'.....doesn't it have a constitution that guarantees freedom of movement and freedom to live and work in any part of the country? The fact 'unregulated markets' are even allowed to exist and possibly thrive in Lagos (b'cos it's Lagos we're talking about here innit?) says more about a failure of gov't control than anything else! Besides, are we talking of the same Lagos that owes its present economic status and a large part of its infrastructure to the effort and commonwealth of Nigerians as a whole? You do realise a large part of the funds used to build Lagos came from the proceeds of oyel and gas exploited from Alaigbo (note, i said Alaigbo and not south-east)? If i despise a people the way you and your ilk despise Igbos, i wouldn't sit on the fence acting unperturbed and say the people i despise should carry on the agitation for secession on their own! I'd jump off the fence and actively engage in the process to get rid of the 'pesky irritants'! Malaysia did it with Singapore, so it's not like it hasn't been done before! |

Can Anambrans in the know help answer this question: what has the Obiano gov't built/done in Nnewi to help improve its livability, ease of doing business and enhance infrastructure....top 5 things they've built/done? |
There's a distinct lack of greenery on the inner streets and major roads of Aba! Also the sides of the streets have accumulated much sand/sediment which tells me they've not been swept for ages! I know these pics are about a decade old, but i doubt the situation has improved today! Aba is within the rain forest belt and should be rich in foliage and greenery, but what chance does it have with the kind of leadership its been saddled with for the past 20 years! The fact even Sokoto has more trees than Aba is a cause for worry and puts the problem in proper perspective! |
Omoodua007:Dude you're quoting was responding to another guy who knew exactly what he was doing in making the mischievous and misleading post he made...all aimed at getting the kind of anti-Igbo, moronic and bigoted responses like the one you just made! For a self-made state with little or no federal presence for decades...second smallest state in the country.....and not being contiguous to the commercial/industrial capital of the country, wouldn't you say Anambra has punched way above its weight? |
FlyoruB:Of course the guy can read and comprehend! His aim was achieved...to get the kind of reaction like the one you just gave! |
Destroyerofyeeb:Care to flesh out this your assertion a bit? How did Igbos 'not stand for lamidi kanu'? |
franchasng:Nice one bros! Methinks Deji getting kicked in the head by a drug-addled and sai baba chanting almajiri was the final straw that broke the camels back and led to them finally caving in and yielding to commonsense! ![]() |
This isn't the first time i'm hearing of this wiper dude! It always surprises me that a state like Anambra cannot easily raise at least 3 billion a month in IGR. This is a state with one of the highest number of small, medium and large-scale industries in the country. Also, the state has a huge real-estate sector made of up tens of thousands of houses/office buildings and hundreds of thousands units of flats....probably second only to Lagos! And there's also the markets and motor parks that abound in the state! The buck ultimately stops at Obianos' table, and if he hasn't already looked into this 'wiper issue' and the states poor IGR receipts relative to it's huge economic capacity, then he's not doing his job properly! |
Pics 1, 2 & 3 are renders of planned new Abakaliki int'l airport. Pic 4 is a complete view of ongoing Abakaliki mall. You get an idea of it's scale seeing next to the newly completed ecumenical centre.

sanctity454:Love this! Which company is doing this? Any news of the multi-million dollar Seplat gas company? |
superior1:That's because excellence and merit is recognised outside Nigeria! In Nigeria, it's all about quota-system, federal character and toxic ethno-religious considerations! |
Kingosytex:Hehehehehe ![]() |
Chibuzoc:Of course he's Igbophobic! He's trying to hide it (unsuccessfully) under the mask of appearing to be 'detached', 'neutral' and 'logical'! Engaging such people in a intellectual discuss is akin to moving round and round in a revolving door.....you get nowhere with them! ![]() |

BeachTime:You see the problem i have with people like you is you keep quiet in the face of tyranny and become docile....willing to accept any and all types of injustice for the sake of not wanting to 'rock the boat' or being tagged as 'reactionary'! All the while your resources are being milked and depleted with you having next to nothing to show for it! But when others who equally feel marginalised speak up and question the status-quo that has led to their ill-treatment, you raise your hand and say 'why are you complaining.....i feel i've been hard done by even more than you'! How many of you have keyed into the Biafran agitation for a referendum on secession? Or if you love 'one Nigeria' so much that you feel you can't do without it....how many of you have formed a movement to push for true fiscal-federalism and resource ownership? Igbos have been murdered in cold blood standing up for what they believe in, yet you sit there....doing nothing, and want to argue that your marginalisation is greater than what the Igbo are experiencing, hence we should keep quiet! The travails Donald Duke faced had nothing to do with Ndigbo! Rather, blame ethno-religious Nigerian partisan-politics and the those who can 'annoint' whomsoever they want to be president! |
Dedetwo:Hehehehehe ![]() |
itsme01:Try another gimmick! The little number of cars they bought from INNOSON and them finally agreeing to support Air-Peace on landing rights in South Africa (after much begging, pleading and wasting of time) is just them playing smart! You don't expect them to go all out and refuse all assistance to Igbo-owned businesses.....that would make their malevolent intent too obvious! The trick is to, every now and again, give little assistance to these Igbo-owned businesses they're targeting so that their cheerleaders, minions and Fulani lovers like you can have something to hang on to when you try to convince Nigerians that the devilish Buhari is fairminded and treats Igbos no different than he treats his Fulani people and Yoruba! The little rubbish you listed up there as proof Buhari is good for Igbo business pales into insignificance when placed side-by-side with all the wickedness and frustrations they've visited on said Igbo businesses and entrepreneurs (normally done by stealth), and all the benefits and assistance they give to the likes of Dangote and Tinubu! See how they decimanted Ibetos' cement business; see the travails of INNOSON with GTB and how they gave his darling wife a hot slap; listen to INNOSON saying he struggles to get FOREX at all....never mind getting it at the favourable rates Dangote gets his; listen to Air Peace complain that the federal gov't doesn't give local airlines protection against subsidy-enabled foreign airlines that want to bully them out of business; see how they were quick to ruin Orji Uzor Kalus' businesses and appropriate same instead of returning them to Abia state that they claimed he stole from.....all this while the likes of Tinubu, Gandollar, etc are declared saints; see how they were quick to try and decimate Ifeanyi Ubahs' business by giving him the 'SLOK treatment'; i could go on and on! The little 'help' you listed up there reminds me of the urban legend of the rat that blows on the sleeping humans foot as it bites it so he's oblivious to what's going on! |
MrSly:They're very sneaky and sly to the point that they love trumpeting all the gains Dangote is greedily grabbing to himself in the name of 'one Nigeria' as 'gains' of Nigeria as a whole! They must think they're dealing with kids here! |
Mrexcell:I know of the route to the sea from Obuaku....can easily see it even from google-earth! Not so sure of the water route from Oguta and if it's wide enough. I know its possible with dredging and widening, but we have to consider cost and other geo-political factors involved! |
tungamaje:I suppose that was your lunch money for the day! No kpuff-kpuff and coke! ![]() |
Amanda4life:This is where our entrepreneurs need to think outside the box! What's stopping all these transportation moguls you mentioned from coming together to form a consortium that will build railways to these destinations you mentioned, or at least buy controlling stake/equity in any similar project? Given natural progression, one would have expected a then thriving coy like Ekene to graduate to owning an airline, but we hardly hear of them nowadays! |
Glorifiednwafor:Igboland is not landlocked...and i'm not referring to Port Harcourt here! The only thing preventing Igboland from building its own seaport is funding, will power, and toxic Nigerian politics of envy, ethnicity and hate! |
CSTR2:Given the way partisan-politics is done in this country, i think you'll find the Igbo masses/electorate (like those of other regions) have little or no say in who is thrown up as the party flag-bearer and goes on to 'win' election! |
delawal:Bros, it's already been done! ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yul2-4mc6mg |
NGpatriot:Dude, mind what you post on this thread! Nigerians like you that claim Alaigbo/Ndigbo has been and are being treated equally with say the core muslim north and south-west and hence have nothing to complain about, are truly wicked and part of the problem! A people are telling you where the shoe is pinching them, and you (a none-Igbo) is standing up to declare they are just crying wolf and 'playing the victim game'....impying they've never had it so good! |
nijabazaar:All we need in Igboland is at least one working int'l airport; rail access to at least one deep seaport; gas/coal-fired power plants (can be located in Imo and Anambra for gas and Enugu for coal) for constant and guaranteed power supply; and security (to flush out the bastards that may want to troop down to the east to kidnap, rob and engage in wanton slaughter)! With these critical economic enablers in place, fast-paced and accelerated socio-economic development will be witnessed comparable only to what was experienced in the east from the early 60s right up till '66! |
I don't know where you guys get all this fake news from! No Igbo politician would come top ten when both legitimately and illegitimately acquired wealth from a stint in gov't (both state and federal) are considered! And i doubt Ifeanyi Uba and Rochas are dollar billionaires to begin with! |
Dreal1247:Granting regional/state autonomy like Barcelona and these Cameroonian regions have would -to a large extent- take the wind out of the sails of the Biafran agitation for secession! All we want is to be able to determine and control our own destiny and resources, and this can either be as a independent country or within a 'Nigeria' framework! But we all know who will oppose such a move don't we? ![]() |
Randy91:To each his own! ![]() |
drizslim:Speak for yourself mate! I make bold to say Tekno is the most talented and biggest music export from Nigeria today! Presently, only Burna Boy and Davido compare! Everyone else you think are bigger than him are either driven by hype or ethnic sentiments of wanting to hype or push a artiste forward because he's from my ethnicity! You can take that to the bank! |
