ckenneths:Former Nigeria Airways regional office! It's sad to see what has become of this once outstanding landmark building! I noticed it in all its resplendent glory in old 60s pics of Okpara avenue, Enugu! ![]() |
ckenneths:Your fondness for Coal-Camp hasn't gone unnoticed you know! ![]() |
ckenneths:Umahi once said outsiders come (sometimes in the night) to take their natural resources for either next to nothing or even for free, and when they're accosted they claim resources belong to federal gov't! Ebonyi by rights ought to be making at least 1 billion per month extra from its natural resources! The other day, some stupid minister was talking of fed' gov't making moves to exploit coal deposits in Enugu! Something that if every region/state owned their resources and answered their papa name, would have been under their remit to exploit! These are just two examples of how the present Nigerian political-economy is holding us down and cheating us! |
ckenneths:Nice effort Spyder! It looks like you have two cameras.....one takes more vivid and brighter pics than the other! |
kampari:Of course it's one of your alternate monikers that ran to the mod' asking for Igboson to be banned! You can be unruly, divisive and dish out insults, but the moment someone pays you back in kind you go running with your tail between your legs to report! Pathetic! |
raker300:They should have bought the adjoining plot! You can't take a nice drone pic of the hotel with that ugly, unkempt looking plot besides it! |
Ongoing works at the site of proposed giant new Abakaliki mall! Looks massive!
|
Pic 1 = New gov't house, Abakaliki. Pics 2, 3 & 4 = New ecumenical centre, Abakaliki.

kampari:Methinks you're the one that needs to zip it! You recommence posting your repetitive rubbish only when someone revives the thread after a few days of inactivity! It's obvious what your intentions are! |
ckenneths:I hope they preserve some of those old colonial buildings for posterity sake! I didn't like how the Chime admin' demolished the old colonial secretariate built in the 20s when they were constructing the new one! |
Brunoval:Nice blog....commendable effort! ![]() |
horsepower101:See Enugu looking like Washington DC! |
gidgiddy:So what's the best thing they can do? Hand their ticket to another moneybag that feels he's entitled to be governor just because he has a few billion naira in the bank? |
Chikpat:That's a tall order bros! Forget about the big things oh....say make we talk about the small things oh! ![]() |
When hell freezes over! ![]() |
A lot of these thugs engaged in inter-city public transport, like danfo driver and conductor, are criminally inclined! With the huge amount of idle youths, unemployment and urban migration these type of incidents are just a natural consequence! I doubt danfo drivers and their conductors would want to commit 'one chance' crimes in the areas they daily operate incase they're recognised! It's likely these criminals come in from other parts of Lagos or neighbouting states to commit crimes and then leave so they can't be traced! All danfos should have a unique number painted boldly on them, with the accompanying driver/conductor having documents linked to the danfo in question....this documentation should be checked at random by the state officials concerned! Anyone boarding these vehicles early in the morning or late in the evening should be encouraged to text or messgae the number of the unique danfo number to a loved one before they board it! This should limit the occurence of this ugly incident to the barest minimum! |
Righteousness89:Hehehehehe ![]() These expansionist Fulani are fucking you southerners in every and any way possible, yet all you lot can do is form prayer warrior! ![]() |
darkwan:You still don't get it do you? ![]() |
darkwan:Trust me....Biafrans taking up arms is the worst outcome a 'one Nigerianist' could ever hope for! You will end up losing everything! |
enemybulldozer:Hehehehehe ![]() He's probably hyperventilaing as we speak! |
Philistine:But you kept quiet over the media pillorying! There wouldn't be a need for media defence if there was no media pillorying to begin with! |
mrvitalis:Don't be deceived....that guy you're quoting is a northerner! Most likely a Fulani! |
Charleys:That was late 90s i think! |
Hypnotism:Don’t you ever get tired of your rants!? All actors in the events leading up to independence and after, up to 1970...all of them were found wanting at one time or the other! The key thing now is what we, who weren’t alive at the time, should do to rectify things! We can’t keep on looking back and playing the blame-game! That’s diversionary and what one does when he doesn’t want to confront his present! |
oz4real83:Everything isn’t about politics! I’m disappointed in Rochas for the questionable quality of the roads he constructed in Imo State....and we’re talking of where he bothered to construct roads, b’cos he didn’t do much in the rural areas like we see being done to a large extent in Ebonyi, Anambra and Enugu! It would be unfair to say he did nothing in Imo, but considering the time he spent as Governor (8 years), coupled with the goodwill he initially enjoyed when he was first sworn in under APGA, one was expecting to see more on ground besides what’s there presently! I think one reason for the preponderance of sup-par roads built in Imo during the Rochas years is the use of inexperienced and new civil engineering companies.....and if you dig deep enough you’ll find a connection linking it to the first family of the state! I believe all state gov’ts in the south-east are guilty of this, just that it’s not noticed or it’s overlooked in states like Ebonyi because said construction coys are doing a good job on a reasonable budget (ie, there’s value for money for contracts awarded in the state)! One doesn’t need to be a civil engineer to look at those Rochas roads and know something just ain’t right! The opposite is the case when you look at jobs done in say Akwa-Ibom or Ebonyi....you see the durability and aesthetics in the job just by looking at it! |
abuchilag:Some fools think nation building is just a matter of electing a ‘Buhari’ to ‘phight kwarruption’...and while he’s at it, appoint every last one of his immediate and extended family into juicy gov’t positions! |
Jabioro:Hehehehe ![]() |
.....and for irresponsibly declaring Rivers State a “Christian State,”So declaring your state a sharia compliant state is what? ![]() |
hargbolahan01:They love BIG GOV'T so they can control and grab everything for themselves while holding others down! |
