Nigeria is not a civilized country to start with. It only in Nigeria a governor of a state will make unguided statement. Making statement without fact and figure belongs to motor park settings and not a class of governor Oshiomole belong to.. hinwazaka: |
He has a point but the simple question is What if the federal allocation keeps dropping, does that mean he will not pay his worker till his tenure lapse? He went on a spending spree merging schools together, giving tablet to students without doing a detailed feasibility on financial strain such projects will have on the long run on his state finances and all came crushing down on him as house of cards. The present economic reality of Nigeria is federal hand out is absolutely not enough and states governors must device a means to increase their IGR. He can keep lamenting or get to work.. Freemanan: |
If the vice president cries out, what should the helpless citizen do? It's time Buhari wake up and continue the winning formula GEJ used for the 6 weeks before election that decapitated the operations of BH. Running to US and G5+1 for help when they are not ready to help makes little sense. This is time to put party politics aside and work for the total defeat of BH |
You have a point, but name calling and abusive languages does not recover the stolen money from anybody. The present administration of Buhari can set up probe panel to probe any individual or organisation he suspect was corrupt but castigation people's personal on baseless allegations does not make a single sense. socialmediaman: |
The train that derailed in Baltimore was due to driver over speeding. No know investigation has been conducted to ascertain the cause of the derailment and blaming GEJ is nothing to stupidly.. For the love of God, election has come and gone, why not join hand and build this nation of ours? socialmediaman: |
As much as am not speaking for GEJ or his past administration. Train derailed due to various factor and that. has nothing to do with GEJ. Train derailed in America few weeks ago and nobody blame Obama. It's time you learn how to objectively evaluate a situation before commenting.. olapluto: |
As much as am not against probe of any past government but concentrating his energy on probing all and sundry is a recipe for failure. It's almost two month and no policy statements or appointment of key ministers and with the endless list of Buhari manifestos, probing should be the last thing of his mind. He needs to realize that Nigerians does not have what it takes to wait forever and if nothing concrete happen in the next 6 months, people will begin to questions his actions and inactions.. He needs to start making real his promise and concentrate his energy delivring the goods as he promise.. |
Go back and read the post again, this time slowly. It 1912 and slavery was way over then... GogobiriLalas: |
We keep going in circles as a nation. All and sundry knows subsidy as it stands does not benefit either the government or the masses except few PMS importers. We would have moved forward as a nation if subsidy removal had been sustain. The reality is petro can't be sold the same price in Lagos and Sokoto because of various factors just as the cost of rents, transportation is not the same cities.. It high time Buhari take a.bold steps and do the needfull to move the country forward. |
No disrespect but some part of the story does not add up.. For a grown man to rape a four year old boy anal is no joke. The boy cant go complain to mummy because he will be in emergency ward receiving medical attention. ( Those who have had anal for the first time with a woman can testify) Raping 6 years old girl often and having a four year old boy video them does not add up.. As much i want the man hang for his crime, He needs to tell his side of his story. |
The earlier APC realised people voted them for positive change the better for them. Nigerians are tired of PDP this, PDP that.. Get down to work and bring about meaningful change and save the country from total collapse.. If you all you have to offer is explaining what PDP did then that was not the change you promise us.. |
Perfect points bro.. This is the time to look into resource control. The current arrangement cannot sustain the economy and this is time to make a u-turn but like you said, all we have is lazy governors whose only job is the spend and not generate.. The future does not look good if present arrangement continue TheFreeOne: |
Nice move but what is next after this? Salaries and other recurrent expenditure is never ending and this is the time the nation need to sit and resolve our financial mess once and for all. The era of federal handout to states and local government is long gone... We need a lasting solution because bailout is temporary.. |
Nigerians want to eat their cake and have it at the same time.. Fuel scarcity would have been thing of the past if subsidy removal had stayed back then but opposition and few uninformed Nigerians kick against it. The price of gas is different in Chicago and Indiana due to various factors and same should goes for price of fuel in Lagos and Sokoto. Expecting Buhari to work magic selling fuel for N 40 a liter as prof. Tom said is nothing but pipe dream and illusion. It time this present government do the needful to move the country forward. |
Aregbe is a comedian. When did Allah start paying salaries? No disrespect to Allah... |
Your post sound funny but you more than right.. Why spend so much money to build airport in Osun with no major significant?. Now that he can't afford to pay his workers, who is going to be using the airport?. He went on reckless spending on project with no meaningful and worthhless value to the layman on the street.. Even USA dows not give high school students laptop but Aregbe felt that was the best thing to do. APC should avoid the same pitfall because no government in the world is father Christmas. They should concentrate on developmental projects and hold on for now on welfare packages till Nigeria finances better off. owobokiri: |
Dont assume or generalized your belief.. What if she does not believe in tithe, first fruit, or her church does not ask for such cos not all church collect tithes and first fruit and she might not be a Christian cos Muslim does not ask for such. dimensional: |
No man is an island but there are domestic problems that western world cannot solve for Nigeria because every countries of the world has one or more problems to deal with. Major cities in America are going through difficulties at the moment and am sure of Chicago and few other cities.. Buhari should look inward and find best mind to manage Nigeria resources to maximum potential but it surprises to think he does not has a blueprint with such enormous promises he made.. He is in for a long ride .. abagnalie: |
Nobody can eliminate corruption, he can only reduce it... He needs to stop talking and start working... |
You can make your points without insulting me.. Name calling either to the preaident or any nairalander is completely uncalled for but for APC to carry wolf because some people calling Buhari names is height of hypocrisy. They started the name calling and if some folks want to continue where they stopped, then goodluck to them but am not in for such things because calling someone old enough to be my grandson is abomination. I would ignore your insult and look the other way because two wrongs does not make a right. LouisVanGaal: |
I am not a fan of either APC or PDP and also completely against name calling but APC as a political party when way too far calling GEJ names and always against anything about him as a person. Buhari needs to get his house in order.. Calling Germany west Germany at the present time of the century is worse than dumbness... Am sure every pages of newspapers would feature such story if GEJ made a silly mistake of calling Germany west Germany.. |
As much as am not against Mr president traveling but it beginning to become one of too many. If he keeps traveling like this, then how does he intend to fulfil his numerous election promises. It's time to sit and start actualizing his promises before he lose the goodwill he rode to power.. If it's still business as usual by August, then Buhari is in for a shocker of his life cos average Nigerians on the street are tired and can't wait to see change he promise which does not include traveling out of the country every opportunity he has.. |
No disrespect but what have you achieve as a person to make you called a sitting governor a failure just because he does not belong to the same political party? It"s time we Nigerians respect wishes of people... If Mimiko decides not to join APC, he has his reason and such reason(s) should be respectful because he has the right of lawful association. Our political landscape will only mature if we have a formidable opposition and not when we cast aspersion to any politician who belong to opposition party... dplordx: |
Where he seats does not make any different to millions of Nigerians. All we wanted is Change and fulfilling his numerous promises. It time to sit home and start fixing the country.. Enough of this propaganda abeg... |
Deep breath.. I gave up... PDPwayoo: |
If you read my comment, you can see i either support APC or PDP but the reality on ground is no government want to obey court order and thay bad for our nascent democracy... PDPwayoo: |
Am not for Wike but there is court order against the election and INEC has yet ro release updated voters register to State electoral commission.. The whole process is just going in cycle because am sure Wike will dissolve the local government election and conduct new election and the money spent will be a waste.. The major loser is the people whose's colective wealth are plunder senselessly. I think we need to strengthen our institution so as to compel people to follow court and we stop going in cycle.. Tired of the ways things are done in Naija for real |
I do not mean to be rude but you cant just wake up, cook up some figures from God knows where and want people to believe you.. Freedom of speech and availability of internet has made every Nigerian critics even if they failed WAEC economics... Too bad |
Instead of Aregbe to focus on how to bring about meaningful development to his state, increase IGR, he is busy blaming GEJ and PDP for decrease in State allocation as if he is blind to the fall in price of crude oil. The simple question is " if he can't afford to pay salaries, how does he intend to develop the state? State governor who can't pay salaries should cease to collect federal allocation and the federal government should pay all the staff from such state allocation before remmitting the left over to such state. |
Insightful narration but the simple truth is lots has change since then. The need for PMS is vast more than what our refineries can produce. Government can no longer do profitable business and most government around the world has given up doing business and concentrate on providing essential services. Buhari will make a big mistake using formula that work in yester years in solving present problem because their variable varies. The only last solution is removal of fuel subsidy and let the forces of demand and supply dictate the price.. Goventment can then subsidy other social amenities but subsidy is not helping either the government or Nigerians... |
The state is the second poorest and he pays workers salaries when due and no backlogged of salaries why most states find it difficult to pay salaries even the Aregeshola"s and his change agents with some PDP states guilty of same thing. You needs political tolerance.. The people of Ekiti has shown time without numbers that they love Fayose and the will of the people is the will of God. Time to let the will of the people prevail or anarchy is fast approching to the state.. GogetterMD: |
It sounds like a good idea on paper but believe me, printing more money increases the flow of money in circulation without adequate increase in production of of goods and services hereby causing hype inflation. Greece would have love to print money to bail out the economy than asking for European union bailout. Printing more money will crash the value of naira and even make the economy worse off. |

? I look at your type and laff! Are you aware that sometime in President Bush era, he once called Egypt the capital of Africa..but nothing happened!! It's ONLY low-lifes that waste their time learning the history of others, but dont know anything about themselves...i bet you know at least 20 states out of 50 US states..but a brilliant American doesnt know more than Lagos or Abuja..were you not around last year, were a whole CNN pointed Niger on map to be Nigeria
