BusinessRe: Was Black Friday Worth All The Hype? by xandy84: 11:01am On Nov 27, 2016
Black Friday is over hype even in USA. I used to work in Walmart distribution center and i can tell you the Black Friday goods are specially packed from China and are low standard compare to regular goods sold by walmart.
PoliticsRe: African Diaspora: Come Back With Glory Or Don’t Come Back At All! by xandy84: 1:44am On Nov 25, 2016
Good observation. The white keep coming to invest in Africa because they can access loan with minimal intereat rate back home, invest in Africa with next to nothing due to curruption and make astronomical profit and flight the proceed back home. African leave Africa because Africa is a grave yard of talent. They arrive Europe or America and make decend wages, enjoy basic amenities which is not existences in Africa and they forget about Africa for good.

ShoProperties:
True but what I'm not understanding is Black keeps trooping out of africa while all this white men keep coming to africa to invest
PoliticsRe: African Diaspora: Come Back With Glory Or Don’t Come Back At All! by xandy84: 12:12am On Nov 25, 2016
Interesting topic but I will rather invest where my investment is secure. I don't want to take a loan to buy a tractor trailer only for such trailer to be set on fire because of accident or street fight between neighboring street. Can anyone imagine how many Dangote's trailer has been set of fire for God knows reason? Nigeria is one of the most difficult place to invest.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan May Contest For 2019 Elections – Dele Momodu by xandy84: 1:20pm On Nov 21, 2016
As it stand now, GEJ will win presidential election if an election is conducted today. I'm not his fan though. Nigerians pioritize surival over fighting corruption and that's what Buhari administration has failed to learn. Fighting corruption when people lose their jobs daily, can't pay rent or feed their family is useless. Buhari administration needs to pioritize his goals which should be job creation and providing business friendly environment so that the country can attract FDI. The blame game is counter-productive now and needs to be deleted from their system

davidif:
While you do have a good point, i disagree with some of your statements.

First of all, the Jonathan administration did very little to enact fundamental economic changes that the country needed. He failed to stamp out corruption: Nigeria's rank is 136 out of 167 countries according to Transparency international. He also failed to make Nigeria a conducive place for business: Nigeria is ranked at 116 out of 178 ranked countries in terms of economic freedoms index and in terms of the ease of doing business Nigeria is ranked at 169 by the World Bank and you guys wonder why Nigeria is poor.

I agreed with you on the level of corruption in GEJ administration but i completely disagree with you on the business climate in Nigeria during GEJ administration. Nigeria business environment is one of the most difficult in the world due to lack of power, poor road network and bribery and corruption in almost every corner of the country. Even with our difficult business environment, GEJ was still able to attract foreign investors and Nigeria for once in our history become investors hub in Africa

Actually one of the indices to measure how business friendly an economy is, is by measuring the amount of private sector jobs that were created during a certain time period. Govts around the world usually boast about the number of jobs that were created under there administration as it is a good indication of how effective there economic policy's were.
I am not a fan of GEJ or Buhari but comparing the numbers of private jobs created or lost during this administration, GEj economic policies is ahead of Buhari. My take though
PoliticsRe: Why We Missed October Deadline To Employ 200,000 – Osinbajo by xandy84: 1:27pm On Nov 07, 2016
This government is cut in between doing the right things and saying what average Nigerians want to hear which is embedded in our emotional thinking ways of life. GEJ has his many faults but his goal on creating enabling business environment stand him out and this government should take a leaf from that. Government does not have business in doing business and any business government ventures into which is not provision of social services is dead on arrival. The best government in history is not judge about the numbers of jobs they created, they are judge how they provide enabling business environment with it multiple spiral effect of job creation and increase standing of living.

davidif:
PREACH!!!!

When would we learn that it's not the govts job to provide jobs for the people but to create an enabling environment to allow businesses to flourish?

Goodness! The level of amateurism in governance in this country is STAGGERING.
PoliticsRe: Why We Missed October Deadline To Employ 200,000 – Osinbajo by xandy84: 2:06am On Nov 07, 2016
Sounds like a nice idea but the world has move from government employing people. The job of government world over is to create enable environment for private sector to trive. This government should concentrate on creating business friendly environment and leave the employment to private sector.

PoliticsRe: FG Evading Talks On Minimum Wage — NLC by xandy84: 4:49pm On Sep 22, 2016
You are looking at one side of the story. The government can increase tax, increase PMS but can't increase minimum wage. The only way out of recession is for government to spend her way out.

Koolking:
The country is in recession. This is no good time to talk minimum wage. It would not make any sense if NLC succeeds in talking the government into increasing the minimum wage, and at the end of the month and for months government owes salary and blame their inability to pay on lack of funds. NLC should think outside the box and lay low for now.

We are all in this recession.
AgricultureRe: See The Pics A Girl Posted On Facebook That Got People Talking(check It Out) by xandy84: 2:43am On Sep 17, 2016
Awesome and she deserve encouragement. The world has moved from subsistence agriculture. How many people will the casava feed? Can she sustain on the proceed of her farming?. I know for sure Nigerians are not lazy but subsistence farming is labour intensive and scares young people away. The government needs to come in big time by giving interest free loan to people like her, free land and cooperative education to farmers. This is what APC should concentrate on and stop GEJ this and that cos 2019 is around the corner and they will be goner like PDP.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Commissioned An Uncompleted Building In Osun by xandy84: 7:05pm On Sep 02, 2016
Nothing is wrong for a president to commission a school but the world has moved far away that. I believe Mr President is still living in yester years to have decided it worth his time and state resources to leave Abuja for Osun state only to commission a secondary school.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria, Its People, Are Suffering — Buhari by xandy84: 11:30pm On Aug 11, 2016
I beg to disagree Mr President. What left average Nigerians poor is haphazard implementation of TSA. Though laudable, hurried implemention resulted in shortage of cash flow and the banks was the major hit. Immediately the banks got cash strapped, they can't loan out and the result is what we are all seeing. The only way out is for the government to reinflate the economy

Sad end to a Clueless President.

After getting kicked out of Power in Nigeria,by a landslide margin. The Clueless one,now goes about visiting different dignitaries in the world uninvited.

In Yoruba,it is called "Mogboor Moyaa"

Truth is,Jonathan is not relevant in Nigeria, and can never be relevant anywhere in the World.

The Western Intelligence still has him tagged,as the most corrupt President Ever in Nigeria.

Only Mediocres celebrate mediocrity, like some of his supporters on Nairaland.

Great Minds go with Buhari.
PoliticsRe: Epic Reply This Guy Gave Osinbajo On Twitter by xandy84: 3:08pm On Jul 31, 2016
I agreed with some of your points Sir but the reality is still the same. Nigeria is a difficult place to survive and the present administration is making it worse without concrete econimic plans and policies. Nobody thinks when they are hungry and the high price of basic food is an indication we are far from our promise land.

aresa:
All the developed nations we admire faced the same situation, but they made lemon water out of lemon, they get creative and proffer solutions to their problems government or no government.

They say necessity is the mother of invention, but the average Nigerian youths want to be spoon fed without using their God's given brain.

Inventions and solutions emanates out of necessities and mot the other way around..

It's the same situation where some useless governors begged the FG for common bridge for 30 years while their mates in other states are building their own bridge in no time. They beg for road, they beg for airport, they beg for every damn thing when in fact they collect taxes and allocations from their people..

FG is not your daddy and progress and development is our collective responsibility, not just the FG.
PoliticsRe: Epic Reply This Guy Gave Osinbajo On Twitter by xandy84: 3:05pm On Jul 30, 2016
I was born and lived my college days in Nigeria and I was once of your opinion until I live somewhere else. The system has to work for people can think straight and profess solutions and take the nation to greater height. A situation you don't know where your next meal is coming from is not a situation to think. A situation everyday you go to work seems like your last day is not a situation to think.
We need to sit down as a nation and talk about the basic. The economy and the national in general needs to be restructure into a more sustainable way.

Sometimes, I wish we as a Nigerian and not government can act right. I paI'd on a boat ride to go watch a dolphins in Virginia and both city and state make money by collecting taxes and also creating employment and here we are in Nigeria, killing everything that comes our way. I pray and wish we can start to act right as an individual, community and a nation..
PoliticsRe: FFK Has Been Detained For 33 Days Now Without Charge. What's The Govt's Response by xandy84: 1:05am On Jun 15, 2016
We need to start asking ourselves some basic questions as a country. Can we do anything right? Why arrest him when your investigation is still ongoing? Why arrest him now, feed him and waste tax payers money on him when you know you don't have enough evidence to procecute him in court.? We need complete overhaul of our law enforcement agencies... The present head of EFCC is nothing but a total failure and would have been jobless in a sane climate now.
PoliticsRe: I'll Use Tough Approach To Overcome Power Outage, Says Fashola by xandy84: 4:17pm On Jun 13, 2016
APC had lost the momentum. Little over a year ago, all you see is praise and worship to change agent but now all they got is scorn. Easy to criticize and cast aspersions to people in Government but the reality dawn on them when they realize fixing Naija is no joke. Let the promise continues

At Op. Sir, after taking time to read your write up, I hardly make sense of it. You only ranted without provide solution to numerous problems which is a trademark of average Nigerians. The attitude of PMB is a saint and all other Nigerians is a sinner should stop if we want to achieve anything in this country because Buhari can't be everywhere by himself. He still need to delegate power to people ad what's the point of delegation is public opinion as seen them as failed even when they are yet to start the projects assign to them.
HealthRe: Resident Doctors To Begin Nationwide Strike On June 9 by xandy84: 6:54pm On Jun 07, 2016
Everything in Nigeria is not about PDP or APC. Most things is about common sense. World over, health sector is capital intensive and government should have minimal involvement. It's only in Nigeria either state or federal government own and operate hospital. Health sector should be left in the hand of private sectors while government duties is just regulation.

madridguy:
Doctors should take it easy for now. Nigeria is presently broke so I beg you people to relax for now.

Never again will PDP rule us.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Government Warns Companies: Stop Mass Lay-offs Or Forfeit Your License by xandy84: 6:46pm On Jun 07, 2016
This government is a joke. The country is sliding into depression and all this government can do is warn and threaten private firms not to lay off staff even when the government is finding it difficult to pay salaries. This is not time to warn or threaten anybody, this is time to role out good economic policies that will cushion the effect of recession before will slide into depression and with all the worst things that comes with it.
PoliticsRe: The TSA: How Buhari Nuked The Nigerian Economy by xandy84: 1:43pm On Jun 07, 2016
Did anyone ever sit down and ask a pertinent question why GEJ administration that proposed TSA never implement it? There must be a reason to bring up the idea and wait for such a long time for the implementation.. TSA was delayed because GEJ administration felt full implementation would cripple the banking sector which was right. Buhari administration should have implement it phase so as to avoid the shock presently faced by most banks.
PoliticsRe: Ben Bruce Mocks Audu Ogbeh:'Tomato Is Scarce & U're Giving Us Livestock Census' by xandy84: 5:59pm On Jun 03, 2016
Nigerian and sentiment are like bread and butter.. You can make your point without involving God. This is not the first time the disease happen and it was managed then and all the present administration has to follow the blue print of how it was managed then. To correct you Sir, it will happen again and only a prompt response will stop it from spreading and minimizing the damage.

mrvitalis:
There is nothing even God can do to bring tomatoes here. It has happened and we have to face it That's the truth
The minister is planning for the future wish is more important for us at this point
We have produced a vacin for it, that means it won't happen again
What else do u want
PoliticsRe: Ben Bruce Mocks Audu Ogbeh:'Tomato Is Scarce & U're Giving Us Livestock Census' by xandy84: 5:29pm On Jun 03, 2016
No Sir. This is not time to play the blame game or pointing fingers here or there. This government needs to wake up and pioritize responsibilities. Little gains recorded in agricultural sector in last administration is been lost to indecision of this administration and the minister is doing census on livestock as if that will reduce the price of tomato in the market. SmH for Mr Ogbeh

mrvitalis:
Mr Bruce the main problem with Nigeria has always been thinking of now and not about tomorrow that's was the reason ur party never saved and now we are here

Tomato ebola has come and we have developed a treatment for it for the next planting season ( u won't see that one in the news) , so there is nothing we can do now to manufacture tomatoes
Just manage Tin or people like u should establish greenhouse tomato farms

This man just think he is very smart, but avoids debate at every chance
PoliticsRe: Customs To Use N285/$ For Duty From June 1 – Businessday by xandy84: 1:59pm On May 29, 2016
No Sir.. The write up is all about NCS using 285 as exchange rate while the official exchange rate is still at 195 and not what GEJ will do or will not do. Our problem as Nigerian is living in the past. GEJ is long gone and we should focus on the present now. We should all call this administration to order when it goes south and not use GEJ this or that as an excuse for lack of direction and vision less economic policies. I'm yet to come to terms with what economic polices this present administration put in place and want to put in place that will propel this country to greater height because all i see now is one step forward and 40 backward. Even the little gains of GEJ administration has been lost due to lack of decision of this present administration.

Zico5:
I was thinking of the magic wand Gej would have thrown if he was still the president. Nigeria would have gone into abyss. Upon how much this government is trying to save this country by blocking all loopholes and irrelevant spending, things are still not taking shape. Gej and PDP really destroyed this country. This fact can only be seen by true democrats and not tyrants in our system
FoodRe: N1000 Tomatoes That I Saw Today In Lagos by xandy84: 7:03pm On May 25, 2016
You don't have to insult people to drive home your point. I'm not a farmer but I know that agricultural section and almost major sectors in naija have been left unattended to for almost a year due to lack of budget implementation and the effect is increase in prices and goods and services. Most goods are demand and supply driven. If there is continuous increase in demand without equal or greater increase in supply, the price goes to the roof..

post=45964159]Some fools calling APC?? joke apart this has shown how myopic Nigerians are
How can u blame the cost of tomatoes on buhari?? Ok I praise him for how cheap onions are??
And Nigerians Are exaggerating the cost of tomatoes, even in Port Harcourt this are 200 so please stop lieing

Why don't the PDP governors construct green houses and plant tomatoes and solve this issue??

This is what u get when a people prefer opening bars to processing garri
When people prefer building hotels to greenhouses
When people prefer build estates than building factory to produce fruit concentrate

Nigerians una never see anything[/quote]

saintdennis:
The true cause of this incident MIGHT not be told, I was walking past a police checkpoint in my area and personally witnessed a truck driver floor his gas pedal after pretending to obey the policeman's signal to park .

They both cocked their rifles but decided against opening fire on the vehicle (maybe cos they felt he wasn't really a security threat but probably had no/incomplete drivers license/car papers)

PoliticsRe: NIPOST To Issue Passport And Driver’s Licence by xandy84: 4:36pm On May 17, 2016
United state postal service issue American passport and that makes it easy and stress free cos postal service is everywhere even the remote part. That's a good development..

socialmediaman:
Seriously misplaced priority. They should focus on improving postal delivery services with technology, completing the postal/zip code system so that every house in Nigeria can be identified with a zip code, acquiring more delivery vans, improve their customer service delivery with exceptional call center executives and "always available" help centers, and also improving their tracking systems. They can fight the competition with private firms like Fedex, and become the no 1 choice of delivery for online ordering
PoliticsRe: FG To Propose N45,000 Minimum Wage, Meets Labour Today by xandy84: 12:35pm On May 16, 2016
This basic economic policy sound faulty to me. Increasing mimimum wage more than%100 without increase in production of goods and services will skyrocket the price of goods and services. The already increase PMS price has shown us prices of essential commodities should be increase gradually and not astronomically increase. I think government should increase minimum wage by %20 annually and same goes for price of PMS. If we keep unleashing this voodoo economic policy of our dear country, we will end up with 3 digit inflation and go down as fail country.. Zimbabwe comes to mind
