Do you know American government extradite Americans to other countries if they commit a crime and such crimes can be proven? Educate yourself RaptorX: |
I am a 8 years experienced mechanic that also teach people how to be a mechanic in community college and I can tell you parts for automotive is either made in China or Mexico cos of price factor. Ordering parts from US or Germany is buying parts shipped from China to US. I bought Ford F350 work truck with 160,000 miles. Scanned the truck, found out it has timing issue. I do not replaced the timing even as a mechanic cos I know it's going to be slippery slope from there on..I swapped the engine for reman engine that will do another 200,000 miles easy. We buy a car that has over 200,000 miles from abroad that someone has already rolled the miles back, and we expect it to perform as brand new car and blame mechanics and China parts. Sometimes, you best bet is to let the engine go cos the internal wear and tear on the block and timing is too much to repair. martyns303: |
I believe they all wanted to come to US and now they will enter US without visas only to pick soup in Jail. You want to do anything to get rick, be ready for the consequences of your actions. |
People sleep anywhere in the street for Yankee. From big to small cities. Okoroawusa: |
It's not only in Nigeria. How many Americans have cars in there garage? Less than 1 per cent. The rest have a car, pays mortgage for 30 years, refinance during hardship and extend the mortgage to another 10 years, finished paying at 65, retired at 70 and ready to die soon. Over 30 per cent of Americans can't even retire cos of bills. They have to work till they are about to die. Statistics shows 75 per cent of Americans live from paycheck to paycheck and household debt is at record high. Back to OP, when we are young, we dreams of luxurious future and the older we get, we readjust to realities of life and trim our dreams. OP should focus of getting extra income, them can start saving to buy a land and start building a house and prepare for retirement. Solsix: |
Why blame the government for everything. Government can't be everywhere at the same time. There are consequences for our actions. You build a house on reclaimed land without government authorization, don't blame anybody when government decides to demolish your property. The situation is worse in US. You build illegal structures, government will sue you, you will pay court fees and fines, pays for the demolition and then pay to restore the land like tree planting etc Dcaliphate: |
One of three Nigerian men is being extradited from Canada to the U.S. to face a federal indictment on Friday, April 14 in a U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, MD. A federal grand jury returned an indictment charging 29-year-old Kosi Goodness Simon-Ebo, 28-year-old James Junior Aliyu, and 31-year-old Henry Onyedikachi Echefu with "conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering and fire wire fraud and money laundering charges related to a business email compromise 'BEC' scheme with losses of more than $6 million." According to the seven-count indictment, from February 2016 to at least July 2017, all three men conspired with others to perform the BEC scheme. The three men and co-conspirators, including some from Maryland, gained unauthorized access to email accounts that were associated with individuals and businesses, the indictment detailed. The co-conspirators allegedly sent false instructions to the victims' email accounts from fake emails, the indictment said, which were forged with sender addresses, to deceive them into sending money to bank accounts controlled by the perpetrators. The accounts controlled by the perpetrators are called drop accounts."The indictment also alleges that the defendants conspired to commit money laundering by disbursing the fraudulently obtained funds in the drop accounts to other accounts by initiating account transfers, withdrawing cash, obtaining cashier’s checks and by writing checks to other individuals and entities, to hide the true ownership and the source of those assets.," the indictment detailed. According to the indictment, Aliyu is alleged to have made a $350,00 wire transfer from one of the drop accounts to an account he controlled in South Africa. You can vacation is North Korea but you might not return home. Go ask Otto Warmbier nairalanda1: |
While I am against insult and name calling but he made a valid point. Will you like to vacation in North Korea? US and it allies has their flaws but better than Russia, China and North Korea. Iamzik: |
Don't you think it's fair for a woman to receive some property after marrying a man for years? Just to let you know she only receive half of the property he acquired from the day they were marry and nothing before she married him. On the reverse, men will receive half of the property if the woman is richer and women pays spousal support. It has nothing to do with Africans. We are quick to cry victims in any situation. If you ever travel out of Nigeria, you will know immigration can pull someone out of queue for secondary check for reasons beat known to them and if they find nothing, they wish you safe journey off you go. Everything should not be politics for the sake of sanity. burp18: |
You can't deport an ambassador. You can declare him persona non-grata and ask him to leave. OP, ppl lease correct your heading |
35% on ROI? Wow.. The easiest way to distinguish between legitimate business, fraud and ponzi schemes is the % on ROI. Legitimate business will promise 10 - 15% on investment, ponzi schemes promise 30% upwards, frauds promise unlimited % return on investment. Let's play a game, I will invest 5 million upward on your business if you can back my load with tangible property like land and if you default, I sell it off. If you agree, send me your number and I will get you the paperwork and if sign and dotted, I will credit your withing 3 business day. Growsss3: |
He said he lost the money. If he buys a land, build it, then he does not lose the money cos he can always sell it off and recoup his investment. You don't need 500 mil to start a club 43Ronin: |
More than exaggerate the amount. I always tell me, the easiest way to live a miserable life is to measure the quality of your life against unverified online claims. It does not even worth it. brain54: |
500 mil.. I guess he is talking about 50 millions. 500 mil is more than half a million dollars and you don't need half a million to start a night club in New York not to talk of Naija. Guess when it comes to online stories, people inflate it by 1000 percent |
Yes cos hush plead guilty and accept responsibility. In US, when people plead guilty, it save prosecutor and the court time and you accept responsibility for your crime hereby reduce your punishment. You go to trial and lose, the judge will throw the book at you. Berrityga: |
COLLEYVILLE, Texas - A North Texas man will spend the next 20 years behind bars for leading a gang of criminals that allegedly used "sweetheart scams" on elderly victims across the country and sent the money to Nigeria. According to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, 43-year-old Ifeanyichukwu Festus Obi was one of four people arrested following a 17-month, multi-agency task force investigation. During court hearings, it was revealed that the group is connected to callers in Nigeria who scam the elderly into sending money to their online love interest. "These Nigerian scammers are calling our retired-elderly population all through the night, waking them up, stressing them out and compelling them to send their money far and wide," said Assistant Criminal District Attorney Lori Varnell, who prosecuted the case. Obi sent $1.32 million in stolen money to Nigeria in just two months in 2019, prosecutors said. They said his 20-year prison sentence for theft and engaging in criminal activity reflects the vast amount of money he was laundering overseas. "This sentence sends a clear message. Tarrant County is not the place to bring your criminal enterprises," said Criminal District Attorney Phil Sorrells. "A sentence this significant for a financial crime sends a message that Tarrant County will not tolerate those who prey on our most vulnerable citizens. Today, justice was served," Colleyville Police Chief Michael Miller added. Prosecutors are still working cases against the other three members of the "Yahoo Boys." Frontier, Spirit and JetBlue na die. Had an ugly experience with Amtrak. Missed a train from DC to Chicago. Had to rebook it over $100 and wait for almost 20 hours before for train leaving for Chicago. My another not too good experience with AA. Booked a flight to Virginia for $203, want to change the date and they requested $200 for changing fee. That was the last time I fly AA. Southwest or I go walker. |
I guess you assume I am an Igbo cos of my post but I am a Yoruba man and like I said earlier, APC should know better and if they want to be emotional about it, let's see how it will play out I pray reason take charge cos no how bad Naija is, there is relative peace and this is not 1960's when you beg for arms from British to fight. There are more guns, ammunition out there that is more than Nigerian military armory holds. Peace. FreeStuffsNG: |
Politics ain't black and white. Fairness is always taken into consideration when allocating political position. If APC decide to zone senate president to the North when the North already produce vice president, they will agitate the south and if they take up arms, couple with bandits and Boko boys, the country will burn. I want to assume APC knows better than to be emotional and accelerate Nigeria demise cos with the proliferation of arms and ammunition in Africa, no country will survive civil war. FreeStuffsNG: |
Really!!! You don't surrender to a bully cos such person will bully you for the rest of your life. Russia was able to start the war cos Ukraine did not fight when it annex Crimea in 2014 and assume Ukraine will collapse in matters of days but Putin though wrong. Both Ukraine and Russia are losing heavily and this war open Russia to lots ridicules cos Sweden and Norway will never dreamt about joining NATO before cos of fear of what Russia will do but they quickly apply for NATO and waiting on Turkey to support their bids and will be NATO member. This war has made Russia lose her dear factors. Princepk212: |
My analysis is hypothetical which I may be wrong or right but the chances of saving $300k on 5 years for an African who just moved to States is next to nothing and on % level, in every 10,000pwoplw to move to US, only about 5 or less will be able to save $300k in their first five years. Take it to bank. youngRx: |
Agreed it comes with lots of perks but my surprises is everyone that talks about tech on nl will quickly point you to software engineer earn $$. While software engineer earn good pay, majority of people in tech ain't software engineer just like most people in medical field ain't doctors and non tech workers still make decent wages.

|
Did you know rich dad, poor dad author had to filed for bankruptcy cos he can't manage his finances well. It's easy to tell people how to make money and get paid than going out there to make the money yourself. grandstar: |
Average Nigerian always jump on bandwagon just to stay relevant. Couple of years ago, you have to be a nurse or you're a looser, now it tech field. The surprise part is everyone that talks about tech will say they are software engineer and no tele support or mid-level employee. Someone will live a miserable life if you listen to their fake ish life. Najdorf: |
The word tech is use loosely to be sincere. I can range from remote assistant to programmers. kingsolomonjnr01: |
Guess everybody not in tech is missing out? You must be one dimensional to think so. What happen now when tech industry is in hot red and even the Indian guru losing their jobs? I own a business and I am contented with what I make... BigDawsNet: |
You hit the nail bro but you kind of err on the loan aspect. Yankee is the worst place to get a business loan if your business is not over 2 years and gross minimum of 200k in sales. Ask me how I know and I will tell you I had attended various SBA funding seminar and when it's time for loan, most banks say capital NO for first time small business even when the government want to back 80% of the loan thru SBA with 700 credit scores. I will never envy anybody in life cos our journey different for real. Everybody claims multiple tech jobs until you hear about their indictment for newspaper. onegig: |
Guess that is a typo. I mean 800 not 80k CXLVII: |
