PoliticsRe: Nigerians Should Pity Me and Buhari, Not Congratulate Us:El- Rufai by xandy84: 10:31pm On May 17, 2015
APC blames Jonathan on every opportunity about dwindling econmic situation of Nigeria and lack of financial capacity to pay workers salaries but the simple question is this.. Is jonathan the governor of Osun state, Imo state that also find it difficult to pay their workers salaries?
The simple truth is the present arrangement of federal government giving States and local governments hand out is no longer sustainable.. This is the time to restructure the country toward a sustanable path of true federalism.. Oil price will continue to fluctuate and no magic Buhari can do about it to stabilize it and since Nigeria economy depend solely on oil price, this might just be beginning of the problem..
PoliticsRe: Do You Think Segun Oni Really Deserves This Kind Of Insult From Governor Fayose? by xandy84: 3:31pm On May 17, 2015
I want to believe this is your view and not APC. Opposition is a welcome idea in a democracy and a nascent democracy like Nigeria should discourage decamping because opposition strengthen democracy. I don't see Fayose decamp any distant future.
Buhari should know better that Nigerians are inpatient at the moment and playing vindictive politics will turn the people against him soonest because the people vote for him to make a change and not winch-hunting opposition.

airmark:
State of emergency had been declared there in the past. Its not impossible. The government at the centre has the power to play it smoothly. Mark it, unless Fayose appologise and decamp to APC, which is not possible, he is a goner.
PoliticsRe: Do You Think Segun Oni Really Deserves This Kind Of Insult From Governor Fayose? by xandy84: 3:27am On May 17, 2015
He lost in 2011 but i disagree his popularity is overrated. He won all elected office single handedly in a state is not overrated. I personally does not like his person but Ekiti people loves him and as a yoruba man that I am" gba fun oga ooo" meaning " accept your boss authority "..

emiye:
Fayose also lost in 2011 under Labour party, his perceived popularity is overrated.
PoliticsRe: Do You Think Segun Oni Really Deserves This Kind Of Insult From Governor Fayose? by xandy84: 3:21am On May 17, 2015
The president can only declare state of emergency with the approval of two third majority of the senate.. The president cant declare state of emergency until the security situation of a state is out of hand...

airmark:
Then state of emergency declared and Fayose will start mother of all troubles as his immunity must have gone with the winds
PoliticsRe: Do You Think Segun Oni Really Deserves This Kind Of Insult From Governor Fayose? by xandy84: 1:46am On May 17, 2015
So court will sack a sitting governor? Supreme court which is the highest court in Nigeria has affirmed his election and no going back on that. Am not a fan of Fayose but the fact remains his people loves him and any attempt to subvert the wishes of the people is to bring anarchy..

Jesusloveyou:
he can wil 2m times, two u are so funny, but don't worry, u wil soon get d code of federal might, d court wil sack him first, then he wil come to contest 2 million times.
PoliticsRe: Do You Think Segun Oni Really Deserves This Kind Of Insult From Governor Fayose? by xandy84: 4:13pm On May 16, 2015
Get your fact right. GEJ never influence Ekiti State primary election. All he said is there should be primary election againt consensus candidate some governorship aspirant are leaning towards.
You might not like Fayose due to his kind of politics but he is man of the people and love by Ekiti people. He has shown APC time and time again that if election is conducted in the state a million times, he is going to wim two million times and that a fact..

OduaVanguard:
Fayose the basket mouth hypocrite should STFU Jo. He himself was imposed on Ekiti by OBJ (his former godfather who imposed him on Ekiti people) in 2003 before their recent fallout so he's in no position to yarn dust.

Even this time around he rode on GEJ'S (his latest 'godfather') federal might to emerge as the PDP gubernatorial candidate in a sham primary so he should let us hear word.
PoliticsRe: Can Buhari Arrest Pres Jonathan On May 29? by xandy84: 3:53pm On May 16, 2015
At Op.. I do not mean to be rude but i think it is time you spend less time on nl and more time reading your book.. You seems not to know different between military rule to democracy. Buhari cant just start arresting and trowing people in jail as his disciples want us to believe. This is democracy where you cant be judge in your own court. THIS IS DEMOCRACY BRO
PoliticsRe: You Have No Excuse For Failure, Lamido, Aliyu Tell Buhari by xandy84: 1:51pm On May 15, 2015
Am no PDP fan. Having an opinion contrary to yours is not a bad thing. Learn to have political tolerance. You all blame Jonathan as if he was the only one ruling for the whole 16 years while you guys turn blind eyes to Obasanja and he is even giving Buhari blueprint how to run his government.
Buhari keep saying PDP has brough Nigeria to her kneels in the last 16 years and yet associate and take direction from someone who govern for 8 years out of the 16 years of PDP is the heights of hypocrisy.
Jomathan performed below peoples expectation but not a total failure as some people want us to believe and Buhari should concentrate on how to go about making the country a better place...
Learn tolerance bro... We must not agree on every issues...

Jesusloveyou:
did u look urself in mirror before spewing dis rubbish, so d masses wil be up against buhari for fighting corruption, let me remind u that d only reason i risk my life for buhari is d issue of corruption, there is no other promise to keep, because every other things wil be settle, they wil be light, fuel and kero wil be there with reduce price, education, agriculture and health sector wil be working, what else did u saTANiod want again.
PoliticsRe: You Have No Excuse For Failure, Lamido, Aliyu Tell Buhari by xandy84: 7:48am On May 15, 2015
Am sure Buhari would be wishing may 29 never come to pass anytime soon. In the heat of electioneering, he made so much promises that he can never fulfilled and now is the time take the mantle of government and start delivering on his promises.. Paying unemployed graduate and less privileged people when government is finding it difficult to pay workers is nothing but a dream of far away future.. Persecuting corrupt people without making any meaningful changes to better the life of Nigerians will only stir masses anger toward him. Jonathan has helped Buhari to fight BK to some extend and i believe he would have little problem making BH thing of the past.
PoliticsRe: I Haven’t Got Useful Tips From Jonathan – Buhari. by xandy84: 7:35am On May 15, 2015
Buhari keep making up excuses. Obasanjo that is giving him blueprint how to fix the economy spent eight goods years and could not fix any of the problems and he was even trying to force third term down the throat of Nigerians. Buhari should have blueprint how to go about fixing the economy because he made so much promises and it will be unheard of to make promises without considering before hand what it takes to deliver on such promises.
PoliticsRe: Buhari And The Challenge Of Unpaid Salaries by xandy84: 5:26pm On May 13, 2015
You have a point but all the states governors cant be lazy at the same time. Electorate then will know their governor is lazy and vote him out immediately.

bushdoc9919:
Even with true federalism.....you would still have many lazy state governors.

The fact is...most Nigerians don't want true federalism. Most Nigerians just want to chop oil money all day long...and that includes many of the true federalism advocates.

Because it is far easier to do that than actually work at developing innovative economies.
PoliticsRe: Buhari And The Challenge Of Unpaid Salaries by xandy84: 5:24pm On May 13, 2015
It nothing to be ashame of bro.. Ask yourself if the price of oil which is the only major export is same now and 2007. The realities on ground is that it can't be business as usual.. Lots of things has to change.
As much as i want anybody who stole commonwealth to be persecuted but that can wait, incoming administration should prioritise her objectives..

OrlandoOwoh:
It's a big shame that Jonathan is leaving nothing in the coffers for Buhari. This is unlike in 2007 when the outgoing President Obasanjo, after clearing our debts, left some money in the coffers for Yar'Adua/Jonathan.
PoliticsRe: Buhari And The Challenge Of Unpaid Salaries by xandy84: 5:20pm On May 13, 2015
Our problem is lack of true federalism. Most states governors does nothing to increase their internally generated revenue since they are certain hand out is coming from federal givernment. The moment states are made to generate and pay tax to federal government instead of the present arrangement then half of the problem will be solve. Same goes for loal government chairmen.
The fact is some states are richer than others and same goes also in united States. Every States, local government area need to generate their revenue and spend according to what is generated. Oil prices will continue to go down due to oil discovery in new places and over reliance on oil is a recipe for disaster..
Buhari does not have any magic to do and he knows that. All he has to do is true federalism and reduce in cost of governance.
Federal government has way too much responsilities that makes it impossible to accomplish.
My opinion though..
PoliticsRe: Don't Expect Change Overnight - Buhari Reiterates by xandy84: 2:44pm On May 11, 2015
I never for once call Buhari names. All am saying is simple. Nigeria"s problems dates backs to military days and for Buhari to be saying 16 years of PDP rules brought Nigeria to her kneels is nothing but a lie. He should forget about PDP and concentrate his energy to nation building.
Nigerians that vote for him knew PDP could not help them and they seek change in him and telling them about PDP misdeed was not the reason they vote to him...

ddippset:
@bolded. iam glad you realise that; election has come and gone! it's time to be realistic and know what to realistically expect of buhari. we all know buhari is right when he says he needs time but the tanoids keep trying to be mischievous by calling him babaonechance. he wont fix nigeria's problems over night. that God you realise that ELECTIONS ARE GONE, face reality and stop calling him 'babaonechance'
PoliticsRe: Don't Expect Change Overnight - Buhari Reiterates by xandy84: 1:27am On May 11, 2015
It is time to play politics without bitterness. Election period has come and gone and the winner will be president of Nigeria not only those that vote for him alone. He made loads of promises and every Nigerians has every right to hold him to his promises irrespective of either they vote for him or not.
Buhari needs to learn to talk less and focus his energy of bringing the change he promise cos Nigerians will not take excuses of PDP does this or that.

ddippset:
nobody says he will be president of APC. its simple; he made campaign promises, you refused to believe his campaign promises, and voted somebody else. that person you voted lost, and then you open the gutter you call a mouth and say; baba you must keep your campaign promises! or you say 'baba one chance' what right do you have? when you were never interested in his campaign promises! dont worrry baba will be your president too, but for now just shut it; and dont jump to criticize him for every comment him makes. tanoid dougivilla.
PoliticsRe: Don't Expect Change Overnight - Buhari Reiterates by xandy84: 9:27pm On May 10, 2015
Am not a fan of PDP but PDP is not the worst thing that ever happen to Nigeria. PDP has produced performing and non performing local government chairmen, governors etc and same goes for other political parties. Saying PDP destroyed Nigeria in the last 16 years is nothing but pure nonsense. Irregular power supply is the other of the day before PDP, lack of portable water and poor road network has been in existence way back in Nigeria.
Buhari should concentrate in governance and let PDP be. Making references to PDP every opportunity he has is a recipe of failure.. He has made so many promises to win election and now that he has won, the enormity of how to deliver on his promises should be his major focus not what PDP do or did not..

Your type are quick to use the words " in a sane climes " but you forget there are always a winner and a loser in an election and Jonathan has done the needful by conceading defeat. He is still the President till May 29th and has all the constitutional right to commision a project till the day his tenure lapse...

In saner climes, by now, Jonathan would be laying low, writing his handover notes and asking for forgiveness.

SportsRe: Ruby Igwe In An Open Letter Urge DANGOTE To Buy Man United Instead Of Arsenal by xandy84: 6:58pm On May 07, 2015
Advising Dangote not to buy Arsenal or investing in Nigeria premier league is not bad but the writer is missing some points. First, Nigeria premier league is a raw gold which will take years to develop. English premier league evolves during decade and not just suddenly and Dangote as a wise investor, knows that.
Secondly, buying Arsenal places Dongote in a spot light globally which Nigeria premier league can't do for him.
Finally, Arsenal fotball club has being posting profits consistently and investing in such club is a wise move.
It easy to dish out advice but the moment you are in hot seat, you beginning to see thongs differently.

You need to educate yourself on modern day medicine practices.. Gone are those days when HIV used to be *Life sentence with no parole* according to your words. Research has made it possible for people living with HIV/AIDS to live a meaningful life and be productive if they take their drugs as prescribe by the doctor though that does not mean someone should not be careful..

As much as i want Buhari to be successful in his administration, am concern he might want to do too much to impress Nigerians which is a recipe for failure. Considering the present economic realities, it would make much sense to concentrate his energy on increase power generation, job creation and poverty eradication. Trying to tackle all the problem at the same time is a disasters in waiting.. Nigerians can do without high speed train at the moment..
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Tells Varsities To Access N1.3tr Tetfund Money by xandy84: 2:28pm On Apr 19, 2015
First, we neeed a structural change in Nigeria. The government should only give students loans and grants not offering free education in tertiary level. What free education does is cheat the tax payers. For example. A rich family would still attend Unilag and pay same tuition paid my minimum wage worker..
I think the solution is total privatalization of the education system while the government subsidizes and give grants to indigent students and parents who can afford their wards tuition should pay for the education recieve. Doing such will allow the sector enough money for infastructure and research development.
In advance countries, tertiary education is completely deregulated and you know the cost of education you recieving and the government gives grants which is free and loans which is repayable with little interest. Is time Nigeria government tow this part of save the education sector from going from worse to complete disaster.

crownprince102:
Thanks, I perfectly understand your point from A to Z but I guess you know the standard of living in United State is higher than that of Nigeria.

The minimum income of an average American is incomparable with a Nigerian. The exchange rate explain it all.

Nigerian workers minimum wages is 18,000/month. That's $90 a month, even in Zimbabwe, as callous Mugabe is, workers earn a minimum of $300.

Petrol is sold for N100, cost of food and living is generally high. A man earn $90 and he has 3 children. A federal university in Nigeria today pays $500 excluding other necessary fees. How will this man survive this?

$500 and student still pay, yet the standard is not something to write about. You will understand properly if you know the standard of universities like Cape Town university, University of Johanesburg, University of Cairo. Even Kenyan university now ranks higher than ours.

Do we really have a solid future?
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Tells Varsities To Access N1.3tr Tetfund Money by xandy84:
Am a beneficiary of free education from elementary to tertiary education but good things does not come cheap. I school in Unilag and also had the opportunity to visit Chicago state university, University of Illinois at Chicago and i can tell the different. Free education does come with sub standard and low quality of education. America is the most prosperous country in the world and her citizen pays for tertiary education.
As long as we want free education, we should also expect low quality cos tertiary education does not come cheap. My opinion.

crownprince102:
Medicine after dealth......... Repentance after Judgement.....

* ASUU went on strike for 6 months
* ASUP went on strike for 11 months
* Standard of our University falls.
* Increament in School fee due to low revenue from government. E.g OAU with 300% increase in tuition fee
* Improper Staff welfare
* Substandard facilities in the university.
* Inadequate Learning and Student welfare facilities
* etc.

Now you are leaving, miraculously the fund to solve all those problem became available. No Nigerian University ranked among Top 20 in Africa and Top 1000 in the world.

OAU used to be the best university and the university with the most beautiful campus in africa but that is then. Imagine, OAU and UI were built with Cocoa revenue. Today we have Oil and Oyel, we have nothing to show for it.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Was Ask About P.h.c.n.plc ,he Responded.. by xandy84: 12:06am On Apr 06, 2015
Government does not have business in doing business. Buhari and co should know better that government world over does not run profitable business. I think he should deregulate the power sector and makes it possible for all States to generate and distribute power without federal government intervention. Reversing to old NEPA is nothing but failure.
PoliticsRe: Suggestion:-can 1 Naira Ever Be Equal To 1 Dollar? by xandy84: 8:29pm On Apr 05, 2015
Value of money is not our problem. Our problem is lack of exportable commodities.. The value of Cyprus pounds is far greater than dollar but what does that add to their country. The government can equal the value of naira to dollar but i tell you that is a calamity is waiting. Ghana is a perfect example. Higher naira value discourage export and encourage import and that brings about deficit balance of payment which is the recipe of economic meltdowns
Buhari should diversified our exportable commodities and let the value of niara appreciate to the forces of demand and supply. Any attemt to use central bank to force the value of dollar down is to drag the economy of the country to the mud.

The beauty of democracy is you have the right to speak and you can sue the government and win your case. Buhari cannot do anything for DAAR communication as long as they keep their operation under the guidance of the law.. We are not in military rule and Buhari cannot, i mean cannot send nobody to jail because he cannot be judge in his own court... Any corrupt individual still has to be tried in competent court of law..
PoliticsRe: "My Govt. Can't Solve The Nigeria Problem Of 16 Years In Just 4 Years"-buhari by xandy84: 3:34pm On Apr 02, 2015
I believe it way too early to judge Buhari because he has yet to start his government but on a lighter note, i believe he has made promises he can"t fulfill 20 years to come.. Paying unemployed graduate in this period of economy meltdown is not feasible. Making naira equal to dollar is the most stupid thing he can ever think about because that alone is going to make the economy crumble.. How many exportable commodities do we have to support such high value currency? Even China is devaluing her currency to make export favourable.
