The Nigerian president argued his academic records should not be released because they fell under a 1974 privacy law for American students.
Tinubu is protected by the 1974 privacy law for students who schooled in the USA.
Chicago state university confirmed the president of Nigeria attended and graduated with distinction and he also presented his BSc to INEC as his highest qualification while obi presented his GCE result as his highest qualification.
omohayek: What a ridiculous non-story! These foreign airlines provided services which Nigerians voluntarily decided to purchase, so what exactly is wrong with them taking home the funds they earned? Were you expecting them to leave their funds stuck in Nigeria indefinitely? You might as well ask them to cease serving Nigeria altogether at that rate - nobody is going to put money into another country if they have no means of ever getting anything back after doing so.
If Nigerians seem to be charged more for flights than people living in other countries, the right thing to do is not to blame profit-seeking private enterprises for doing what they were established to do, but to look at why conditions in Nigeria might be enabling them to make such extraordinary profits in this particular market (if they are indeed doing so, as revenue is not the same as profit). Does Nigeria's airline regulator impose extraordinary burdens that justify charging more? Is there something about the way we treat foreign airlines which makes them demand higher profits to justify the risk of doing business here? Are our busiest airports capacity-constrained? Have the landing slots in them been efficiently allocated according to demand, rather than through the age-old Nigerian favoritism for a few well-connected groups?
There could be any number of reasons why these price disparities exist, but determining what they are requires careful, thorough research, instead of flying off the handle in an entitled rage with nonsensical complaints about foreign businesses who used funds they raised abroad to provide services now deciding to take their earnings back to the countries where they raised the money to pay for the planes, pilots and other staff who made the services possible. Anyone who doesn't like this is free to patronise domestic alternatives or simply stay in Nigeria. Nobody is being forced at gunpoint to fly abroad on a foreign airline.
fergie001: Senate awaits security clearance to confirm the nomination of Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Stella Okotete (Delta) and Abubakar Sani Danladi (Taraba) as Ministers.
Still pretty, imagine how she will look in her twenties
Smackdown.
Some women even look more beautiful as they advance in age. It has more to do with genetics and the body's stem cells not deteriorating rapidly. The legal luminary Afe Babalola's delectable daughter and top movie producer, Bolanle Austen-Peters of TerraCulture fame comes to mind here... As she grows older, she appears frozen in time and beautifully photogenic to me.
Kemadealadire: See the wife na and compare with the sidechick, unless she isn't photogenic like some of us, some men ehn. Trouble will sit, they will go and be inviting it into their homes. What would it have caused him to stay faithful to his wife, smh.
@Kemadealadire, He probably was under a spell of some sort from the girl. Otherwise the wife isn't looking bad facially.
Conversely, Ayeni's wife's looks here in the picture could be as a result of make-up effects. I've seen the "before and after" make-up pictures of some women and they looked ugly tbh. The makeovers or make-ups made these ladies look more beautiful than they really are in real life.
Men are highly visual creatures, so with time, men begin to lose interest in a woman who has developed crow's feet around the eyelids or has saggy boobs and saggy bums. So, it's good for women to continue to keep physically and mentally fit right up to their 60s and more. That would be a real turn on for most men.
Lanre1st: This one strong, "that is if Adaobi knows who among the many men she was having sex with at the same time is the REAL father."
A lawyer for that matter
@Lanre1st,
It is my brother... About 30 percent of all FIRST borns are being currently fathered by men who are NOT their biological fathers. DNA tests have proved this fact.
This is as a result of the fact that a significant number of females (including the supposedly educated ones) have multiple sexual partners who they string along with the hope that one of the men would eventually propose marriage to them and/or help in paying part of her bills in a transactional type of relationship.
This female lawyer's past sexual history is the reason why it's good to always get references before hiring a good lawyer for instance. You also don't want a lawyer who cannot communicate effectively in English or any other language to defend you in a court of law so as not to lose the case. Lol.
AmotekunSW: That Jaxxy is a mediocre who sells stolen cars somewhere in Alimosho. I saw the place where he called her a seasoned lawyer and I shook my head. Tunde has been a lawyer before Adaobi was probably born but one conductor in Alimosho thinks she has more knowledgeable of the law than Tunde.
"Stolen cars somewhere in Alimosho" You're cracking me up here...
Tbh, this case paternity case is further evidence that confirms that a lot of female lawyers are NOT prudes. They too have a tendency to stray under the cover of darkness and run sexually wild in Law School and after graduating from Law School.
This young female lawyer truly messed up... In any event, I think the DNA test result should be made public to a select group of journalists, Ayeni's lawyers and the legal reps of the former side chick just so everyone is clear about the validity of the DNA result.
The baby can then be handed over to her real father, that is if Adaobi knows who among the many men she was having sex with at the same time is the REAL father.
skj1377: I suspect GRV has same issue. The mother is Ibo but claimed the rich vivors were responsible. The child came out and behaves like Ibo also married Ibo wife he does not think I'm terms of Yoruba but wants to be a governor in southwest. They should do a DNA test for him GRV probably was fathered by a poor Ibo man back in the days.
The dude doesn't look like his dad. He is facially a carbon copy of his mother.
iLiquidator: "When the enemy is relaxed, make them toil. When full, starve them. When settled, make them move." - Sun Tzu, The art of war.
The recent resurgence of Boko Haram and the panic it is generating among innocent civilians is quiet worrisome. It is simply beyond logic how a ragtag group of frustrated bigots can sustain a war for more than 10 years. What is their motivation? Certainly not religion or resources. How are they sustaining their supply of weapons and essential commodities? When the Niger Delta militants were on rampage, it was common knowledge that they steal crude oil and sell at the international black market. Even the bandits and kidnappers of the North West are known to fund their activities through the ransom they collect. How exactly is the Boko Haram getting funding in the arid extremes of Borno state? Do they package our abundant sand garnished with sunlight and export for cash? Certainly NO! We have to take the war to them by cutting off their supply routes, starving them and smoking them out. For this to be achieved, the government should consider the following steps.
1. PROSCRIBE THE ACTIVITIES OF ALL INGOs AND NGOs IN BORNO STATE. The activities of the international NGOs in Borno state is similar to a situation of a man sitting in his house with a blown roof after a fierce storm desperate for a helper only for the helper to come and instead of him to fix the roof he decides to hang a painting or two on the wall with maybe a flower pot in the room. Their priorities are misplaced and with their policy of not taking sides in a war, they provide food, shelter and medical supplies to both the victims and the perpetrators of crime. The war cannot be won when the enemy is well fed. They should be sent packing or their activities should be confined to the state Capital.
2. DEVELOP A BIOMETRIC SYSTEM FOR ALL IDPS AND RELOCATE VULNERABLE VILLAGES. The state government should relocate vulnerable camps and villages closer to bigger towns and the biometric system for IDPs will ensure for better planning and prevent infiltration by the insurgents. The government can afford it because no local government receives less than a hundred million naira monthly from the federation account and without it's citizens on ground there is no capital project going on. Each local government's allocation should be used to respond to the humanitarian disaster of it's people.
3. IDENTIFY AND CUT OFF THE SUPPLY ROUTES OF THE INSURGENTS With the camps and villages safely out of the way, the government should stifle the insurgents by stopping the supply of all essential commodities to them. It is practically impossible to survive in the plains of northern Borno and environs without outside supply especially at this moment when agricultural activities are almost non existent.
4. OFFER A LARGE REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON THE LEADERS OF THE INSURGENTS If the government announces an offer of a large reward with the promise of anonymity and amnesty to anyone that will lead to the arrest of the leaders of the group it will surely lead to a division within them especially because of the starvation and lack of supplies.
5. ORGANISE THE MILITARY AND OTHER SECURITY FORCES TO END THE INSURGENCY If the government succeeds in cutting them off, they will start crawling out of their hideouts to seek for relief from imminent starvation. It is at this moment that the military will expect a weak resistance and it will be an opportunity to end the madness and carnage. Our intelligence agencies should also find the international connection and any country found to be covertly or overtly involved should be sanctioned.

South African girl states why she is terribly "in love" with Nigerian men.
Take a listen!!!
#wetindeyhappentv
Hilarious.
She's speaking from the Netherlands though. The lady doesn't sound like a South African to me. She sounds more like an East African lady based on her accent.
luminouz: Lol...she just described igbo men. Even mentioned Chukwuemeka ... Seems men from that region are the biggest simps of Nigeria. Train women in school, actively cultivate laziness in women by equating love with money and gifts.
I agree that many men from other regions of Nigeria also simp with this mentality. They even prefer to suffer in silence and smile while providing for women who give no fuqs about them. Tell them of the redpill and they will term you broke and curse you yet they keep crying online about heartbreaks from women.
I have never used money to woo any woman and will not, yet I have dated some gorgeous women in my life. Men forget that most women will collect your money but never love you because attraction can't be bought.
This message is for a simp on NL who thinks paying his gf rent, school fees and allowances are signs of 'care' while neglecting his own life. Some even borrow app loans to shop for their girlfriends. Take the redpill today or Perish!!!
Throwback: Yes I couldn't help but shudder at your confirmation below that Peter Obi was using the extrajudicial killings at Awkuzu SARS to remove touts from Anambra.
That's is a revealing post from that insidious creep of a moniker.
It’s remaining for the supporters of Ebola Tinubu, the urine-dispensing senile drug dealer, to regain their senses.
Tinubu is a criminal.
Tinubu elevates criminals.
Before Tinubu, nobody was shameless enough to associate with James Ibori in public, but Tinubu brought him to Aso Rock.
Before Tinubu, Asari Dokubo was already cosigned to distant hisses from his dwelling place in the creeks of Rivers State but Tinubu came and invited him to Aso Rock and gave him the presidential villa to address the press.
Ganduje was caught on camera stuffing dollars in his babaringa, but today Tinubu ensured he became APC chairman.
Tinubu has no values.
No moral code.
But daily you see fools supporting him and you can’t help but shudder.
Hedonisco: Don't be stupid. FCT is already constitutionally designated as a Nigerian "no man's land" of sorts, that's why it is called the FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY. Don't be an illiterate barbarian.
I 100% support the Joe Abah. I can't stand the idiotic and unfair indigenous agitations that are rife in Nigeria. It is bad enough in Lagos where federal money and the collective effort of Nigerians was used to develop the land, only for a few insufferable so-called 'indigenes' (more correctly tribesmen) to start asserting ownership and insulting the sensibilities of others.
Imagine the FCT which is Nigeria's melting pot, developed with billions of dollars of Nigeria's money, shaped by ALL Nigerian tribes, now being claimed by some lazy members of a local tribe as theirs. Not gonna happen!
Let them agitate for a state to be carved out of Abuja (Abuja is technically different from FCT) if they are desirous of having their own state. Maybe portions of Abaji and adjourning areas - where they can have their own governor and senators and whatnot. But they can't claim FCT because the FCT constitutionally belongs to the Federal Government, hence to all Nigerians.
I don't like encouraging rubbish.
Let me step into your conversation here.
The former capital of Nigeria was Lagos Island from 1914 to 1991 and NOT Lagos State which only came into existence as one of the 12 new states created (after due consultations with the traditional rulers and indigenes of the different towns) for the indigenes by General Yakubu Gowon on May 27 1967, so get this FACT clear.
Many of you the younger ones who do not take history lessons seriously mistakenly confuse Lagos (Island) with Lagos State. These are 2 distinct landmasses.
Over 95 percent of the current Lagos States was carved of Ijebuland and Aworiland in the then Old Western Region (now known as Ogun State) and merged with Lagos Island by General Gowon on May 27, 1967, so there is NO place in today's Lagos State that has NO indigenes... Absolutely NONE!
Last but not least, despite being the state capitals, Enugu city and Port Harcourt have indigenes. Therefore Abuja indigenes also exist and must be given their rights too. Period!
ShaqFu: defamation. I think it's about that time Asiwaju start sueing this people who spread these lies against his person.
I agree!
The OP is one of those ethnic bigots who have been posted criminally defamatory threads on NL against President Tinubu. I wonder which one of the NL Moderators pushed this propaganda and defamatory thread to the front page?
But I'm pissed off and majorly blame Bola Tinubu and Seyi his British-educated lawyer son for NOT taking bold actions to bring all those spreading fake news online and offline about the Tinubu family to justice! These people are de-marketing themselves inadvertently by NOT bringing to justice all those damaging their family name. The Tinubus MUST stop being nice guys. Tinubu once took DAAR Communications and Raymond Dokpesi to court in 2015 for showing on AIT a false and largely defamatory documentary and Mike Ozekhome had to get an out of court settlement for Dokpesi and DAAR. The Court also ordered DAAR/AIT to apologize publicly during primetime TV to Bola Tinubu which the supposedly did.
We live in the social media age where fake news spreads fast and the old adage that "Silence is the best answer for a full" does NOT hold water any more.
The U.S. government has clearly come out since 2003 through the legal department of the U.S. Embassy to say that Bola Tinubu has NO criminal record in the U.S. The U.S. authorities even returned $1.4 million to Tinubu's U.S. bank accounts in 1993 after the $400,000 forfeiture. If Tinubu was a drug baron, the U.S. authorities would have locked him up in jail in 1993. The U.S. authorities have zero-tolerance for drug barons and drug pushers.
Dele Alake (who is one of the iconic veteran journalists and figures who bravely fought to restore full democracy from the brutal military dictatorship in Nigeria back in the 1990s) did tell members of the Senate during the ministerial screening last week that if he becames the Minister of Information, he would start the implementation of strategies to combat fake news in the light of what happened during the last elections where ethnic bigots and propagandists took over dishing out fake and doctored news.
Christistruth00: Eko is the way the Yoruba Ijebu pronounced ereko after ereko Market on the Island where King Kosoko's European and Slave Markets were located and where he traded with the Ijebu who sold him slaves from the hinterland
Eko (ereko) means field in Yoruba and ereko ile is used to describe an Island
ereko Market is still on Lagos Island today!
There is Eko Ende (Field at the back ) and Eko Ajala ( Ajala's field) Towns in Osun State .
Eko Ende was one of the Locations of the Jalumi War of 1878 against the Ilorins
Lagos Island belongs to the Aromire family till today. Aromire was a son of Olofin an ile Ife Prince who was the first to settle Lagos with his followers. Aromire was a great lover of Water. He is said to have Swam to Lagos Island on first sighting it. .
The Oba of Benin needed a Port to do business with the Portuguese who advised him that Lagos Island was a good location so through an agreement the Awori Aromire family gave him Isale Eko part of the Island just as Sabon Gari is given to outsiders in Kano. The Oba of Lagos is not even the king of Lagos Island he is the King of Isale Eko which was the location of the international Slave Port . The Island belongs to the Aromire Chieftaincy family who are Awori that Migrated from ile Ife and are the Children of Olofin Ogunfunminire
The People of the Historically important Yoruba town of Otun Ekiti in Ekiti state migrated from Lagos in the 15th Century and share the same ancestry with the Awori of Lagos the revisionists are not aware of this History and are just making up lies as they go along.
Some people have tried to distort Awori History out of Selfishness.
From Osifekunde's 18th Century Slave Narrative
""nous l'a appelee Eco, et c'est ainsi que la designent les yebous... Benin, qui lui applique le nom Korame"
Translation:
"Eco(Èkó) is the name given to it by the yebous (Ijebu)... The Benin call it Korame"
Futhermore, the text says ".. Korame etait unie a sa metropole par la langue de terre resserree entre la grande lagune et la mer; mais des longtemps les yebous se sont empares..." "Korame (Lagos) was formerly larger, included a metropolis between the Great lagoon and the sea but for a long time the yebous (Ijebu) seized this area"
Futher the text says "dont l'extremite orientale a ete envahie par les pirates Ouyo; et Korame est restee isolee au bout de la grande lagune, continuant a recevoir du Benin" "the Eastern part of this area was invaded by pirates from Ouyo(Oyo) and what is left of Korame is the isolated end towards the great lagoon, this is all that is controlled by Benin"
The Wisdom and Foresight God Almighty Gave to Awolowo and our Fathers when they stopped Azikiwe from becoming the Premier of the West must have almost killed them
So if an Easterner is controlling the West and an Easterner is in Control of the East then where will the West be in Control of?
Could Azikiwe have done what Awolowo did for the West?.
Gbadebo Vivour Rhodes is an IPOB front
Ipob cannot unleash destruction Cannibals and Anarchy on their homeland once Peaceful and full of industrious people and then come to Lagos to be dragging Lagos with the Yorubas.
wallrichy: Point of correction. Yorubas didn't settle in Benin republic but have ancestral extension in Benin republic, Togo, Cote D'Ivoire, and some Part of Old Ghana. Yoruba empire extends widely within the West Africa peripheral. Mind you, when I say ancestral extension, I mean a bonafide, legitimate owner, natural born citizens and not a migrant or tourist but native of all those ancestral lands. (OMOLUABI DESCENDANTS OF ODUDUWA) Yorubas and the Hausas and Fulani are the only tribe in Nigeria that has no limited boundary or confinement to the entirety call Nigeria. Hausas And Fulanis have ancestral extension in Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Senegal, Gambia Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Sudan, Ethiopia etc, The other extension of Yorubas in diaspora, rooted inhabitants, natural citizens in diaspora are made through slave trading in the 15th Century. The Yorubas of Cuban, Brazil, Dominican republic, United States. These are natural born Yorubas, born due to slavery but fortunately were able to retain their African and Yoruba nativity...... Yorubas are really widespread all over the world and that makes me to recollect the clamor of the world literary society to accommodate a study of the Yoruba language and Culture in its entirety in some of the renowned Universities. Yorubas ain't limited to Africa alone despite the fact that the Cradle of Yorubas is in Ife, Osun State but spread wide and near.
Well said.
Aside from the Yorubas and Hausas that are indigenous to Nigeria and other West African countries with ancestral homelands there, the Baribas of Kwara State, the Kanuris and Ejegbams (Ekoi) are also indigenous to Benin, Chad, and Cameroon.
The Ewes of Togo are also indigenous to Eastern Ghana. The European colonists did a very bad job separating these same ethnic groups into different countries tbh.
The advantage here though is that many Yoruba folks of West Africa speak fluent French and English languages and can easily get top international jobs and United Nations jobs that require you to be multilingual.
nairalanda1: You haven't been listening to the news..lately
Ghana , right now, is about to take an IMF bailout. Things are hard there. And as a result they are following instructions from the IMF
The problem with Ghana , as with many African countries, is that their major source of income is cocoa, gold, and so forth. The problem with all these sources is that Ghana does not set the price. As a result, most of the time, the prices are low. Very low. Meaning that Ghana often times gets broke....and has to take loans. Then in the last 3 years, covid happened. Revenues fell so badly that Ghana is in deep trobule. Then there is the issue with rising prices and cost of living.
IMF is not wrecking Ghana's economy. Most of us in this continent think we can make a living by selling raw materials, instead of using the raw materials to make things the world needs.
Nigeria has discovered deposits of lithum. And we are refusing to use the thing to start a local battery industry that could make billions for our land. Instead we wan sell am, and we would earn far less...but no.
Nicely put.
The value addition (to global standards) of major exportable commodities is key for sustainable economic development.
