spearman: Core Northern Nigeria and Niger Republic should be one country. E no go better for colonialist wey join Niger Delta minorities with cannibal Ibos in Eastern Region.
Indeed.
There are over 25 first-class Obas of Yoruba territories that are indigenous to Atakpame region in Togo and Benin Republic today and they regularly have meetings annually with their fellow Nigerian Yoruba Obas.
Porto Novo (Ajase Ile in the Yoruba language) which is a Yoruba city used to be part of Nigeria before the British ceded it to the French in the late 1890s.
Farouk Kperogi's Baruba (or Batonu) people also straddle both sides of the Nigeria/Benin border just like the Yorubas who straddle 3 countries as indigenous people.
Even the Ga people who are indigenes of Accra, Ghana have an Ile Ife ancestral heritage and their king and his entourage visited the Ooni of Ife 2 years ago to reconnect with their ancestral migratory roots in Yorubaland.
The Hausas of Nigeria and Niger Republic are one people. It is the colonial borders that separated them, but despite that, they still interact business-wise across the national borders on a daily basis.
The famous LAKAJI trade route (Lagos, Kano, Jibia in Katsina) is the most commercial route in Nigeria, so, even for the Yorubas, and others, that route from Jibia town right across the border into Maradi in Niger Republic is a very lucrative trading route.
Jman06: That serves the long-throated Igbo lady right!
I love the way she is being humiliated in this matter. After all the years of training as a lawyer she ended up being a sidechick to a married man instead of making a name for herself in the law profession.
Imaging this 31-year-old young lady lawyer who was sleeping with a man whose first born is OLDER than her! She just wasted her time and damaged her reputation IMHO.
By the way, the real DNA test results should be published in the public domain to finally end this social quagmire.
saphiere: Run! Run!! Run!!! My sister run away from the following men..
1. The ones who ask you what you have to offer. These are irresponsible men. They are looking for who to shift their responsibilities to. If not, why would they ask such a dummy question.
2. Men who are interested in your past than your future. Always asking you about your past life. These ones are not ready for marriage.
3. The ones who always want to have their way between your legs whenever you visit them. They can never marry you. It's that sexx that is keeping them.
4. The ones who do not tell you their plans. Always being secretive. You are not important to them because I see no reason a man should keep his plans away from the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
5. The ones who tell their parents almost every about them. They want to eat rice today mum will know. The want to send you 5k their daddy will know.
6. The ones who can't introduce you to their friends. They will not marry you.
7. The ones who do not want you to know their earnings. Run o.
#2 to #7... 6 red flags out of 7 bullet points!
The number one question could be better framed by men... Just get to know what her values are, and where she sees herself in the NEXT 1 to 5 years career and relationship-wise. Those would be better conversational points to start with and not bluntly asking what she has to offer or what she is bringing to the table which sound overtly transactional or based on overt self-interest which is insulting.
Thanks for pointing this out @Sukkot. The tilt towards Russia is an offshoot of the uncertainties that have wracked the global economy.
Russia are creating their own spheres of influence in Africa through self-interest. Indeed a resurgence of the Cold War between the East and the West is already underway. We'll see who bucks first in this human and physical cycles of existence.
Russian conquest of Siberia, 1580-1778 Russo-Polish War (1654–1667) Smolensk War, 1632–1634 Sack of Baturyn, 1708 Russo-Circassian War, 1763–1864 Liquidation of the Zaporozhian Sich, 1775 Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Empire, 1783 Partitions of Poland, 1772–1795 Caucasian War, 1817–1864 Russian invasion of Manchuria, 1900 Russian occupation of Tabriz, 1911 Russian invasion of East Prussia (1914) Soviet–Ukrainian War (1917–1920) Soviet invasion of Azerbaijan, 1920 Soviet invasion of Armenia, 1920 Red Army invasion of Georgia, 1921 Soviet invasion of Xinjiang, 1934 Soviet invasion of Poland, 1939 Winter War, 1939 Soviet occupation of the Baltic States, 1940 Soviet occupation of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina, 1940 Soviet Invasion of Manchuri, 1945 Hungarian Revolution of 1956 Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, 1968 Soviet–Afghan War, 1979–1989 First Chechen War, 1994–1997 Second Chechen War, 1999–2000 Russo-Georgian War, 2008 Russo-Ukrainian War, 2014– 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine
goody234: You are so naive!!! read your history russia is trying to position itself as a hegemony just like the west does ...Africa has always been a playing ground for these powers ....coups and countercoups are always sponsored by them
Indeed... A resurgence of the Cold War is here. The battle between the Eastern and Western parts of the world.
Those of us who have a perfect experience with military coups and military rule from back in the 1960s to the 1990s know that the military are the worse in governance and laid the foundation of criminality and corruption in governance on the African continent and elsewhere.
Massive repression of the reedom of expression by the citizens is usually curtailed by the military juntas, and it is only the younger generation born in say the late 1980s, 1990s and beyond 2000 that are naively rooted for a return to military rule.
Any military boy that calls for a coup has displayed a complete act of indiscipline and must be arrested. The civilians too must sit up and deliver the dividends of democratic governance to the people. Period.
sukkot: oh yeah I saw the footage. It’s crazy that no one was killed. It’s like that bible verse, I saw satan like lightening fall down from heaven down to earth. Ok it’s a small plane not a helicopter
sukkot: oh there is a cosmic dimension to this for sure. It happened on the day of a full super moon. Meaning some entities will fall from heaven down to earth. I knew something crazy was going to happen on that day. I monitor these new and full And supermoons. The last new moon was when that titan capsule exploded underwater
Impressive Sukkot!
Your ability to decode these events is truly stellar.
The plane actually clipped the top of that white Toyota HILUX pickup vehicle owned by "Caterpillar" that was driving along Oba Akran Avenue before crashing in flames. Very surreal.
bestofnollywood: After 18 years of marriage, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeauand his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, made the separation announcement on Wednesday.
In remarks shared on Instagram, the two said that their choice was the result of “many meaningful and difficult conversations.” They both signed a legal separation agreement, the prime minister’s office said in a statement.
In 2015, Trudeau, a 51-year-old scion of one of Canada’s most well-known politicians, took the oath of office. The former model and TV host Sophie Trudeau. In 2005, the couple were married. They both appeared in the pages of Vogue magazine and brought star power to the prime minister’s office together.
They have three children, 15-year-old Xavier, 14-year-old Ella-Grace and 9-year-old Hadrien....
gbadexy: It's not new. Someone installs it around kayode street at ogba in lagos and I've known about it close to 3 years. I saw no need for it but I'm sure if I knew a 12.5 kg gas would last one week what the petrol equivalent would last just a day, I would have gotten it done. The veracity of how economic and lasting the gas is compared to petrol is the main issue now.
Insights.
48 hours of continuous generator usage for the 12.5kg of LPG gas.
Mindlog: I don't live in Nigeria thus have no need for such, my family homes both in Lagos and in the village are both off grid as they are powdered by a mix of solar and wind, while the cooking gas in the village house is methane processed from the installed biodigester which is fed with food and farm wastes.
Mindlog: I don't need to use it to prove it is not new because I don't even need it but see the attached The Guardian reportage.... note, the 2016 date.
I was involved in a project where our generator was powered by methane generated from farm waste ....so this is no big deal.
As the effect of Subsidy removal on PMS has continued to be felt among Nigerians, especially homes and businesses that relies primarily on petrol, a Nigerian from Anambra state, South East, seems to have proffered solution to counter the rising cost of petrol.
The man converts Generators which runs on petrol, to Gas powered Generators.
Since the removal of subsidy on Petrol, families and businesses spends average of N5000-N10000 naira to run Generators daily, while a cooking of 12kg which cost about N7000 can run a generator for more than a week.
Lots of households and businesses are converting their generators to gas powered generators to save cost.
