@danie09 its really sad to see how deep the cancer of senseless tribalism have eaten nairaland. Its always very sad to see blacks hate themselves this much.open tribalism like this makes it almost impossible to blame racists.Bros, I tire o. There are loads of senseless morons on this forum. It has gotten to an alarming and very sad proportion. It has become the norm rather than the exception. And to even think of the fact that there are other nationals on the forum, and these same bigots are the ones to quick demand respect from others. These are brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, to some people. When your life sucks so much that the only contributions you can make to discussions are limited to throwing tribal, racial, sexual insults at others, it might be about time to go get some help! The moderators should start doing something about it. Seriously. |
I once had a househelp who stole from me. I didn't realise it on time. But when I found out, I set traps for her by displaying some naira notes on my kitchen table, dinning table, sitting room chair etc. I was so shocked she took all the money same day without thinking. I just called her agent who happened to be her elder sister to come and take her out of my house. She later confessed it was her boyfriend who was encouraging her to steal to buy recharge cards for him. But she had to leave my house the same day. I can't lay my hands on another person's child because they work for me.You did the right thing bro! She even confessed without getting tortured / dehumanized. |
sometimes, jungle justice is the real justiceBut this na petty thief na. A bit disproportional. |
@Emescot hehehe me and you we be OLOJUKOKORO grin who says we dont deserve the sweet GIRLS of life #cheers :-8OLOJUKOKORO? Naaa. Like someone noted earlier, there are still loads of "SWEET GIRLS OF LIFE" who possess the physical features you mentioned na. It's like going for an exam bro, aiming for the highest score. hahaha ![]() |
@Emescot Na the shape of her body first o, flat tummy, straight breast, nice hips, and wonderful bum bum :-)You are the Don! 10,000 LIKES for you bro. |
TonyeBarcanistaBros, I don't buy this your arguement in relating this shameful / inhumam treatment to punctuality. I have never seen any place in the world where punctuality is rewarded, appreciated & held as holy as in the developed world and I am yet to see kids been punished in such manner to teach them lesson on punctuality. My take on this is, if adults have to go to such length to exercise power / "teach them punctuality", it only goes to exhibit the helplessness / incivility of the adults. So if after this punishment some students till come late, what will be the next level of punishment? Cut them with razor blades? These kids are not in some military training camp for hell sake! |

The problem with Nigeria is not these criminals we call governors but of dysfunctional institutions in a lawless society. The incident is a pointer to the fact that 'Law & Enforcement' in Nigeria is a joke of which the masses become victims of error.Bros, You have spoken well. God bless you! Nigerians wise-up! |
There are some other qualities I discovered in him that I never saw while we were dating. I jokingly told him he has changed and that day he smiled and said he had to give me all I wanted cos he didn't want to lose me since I'm a pretty girl. Now that we re married its like he can't be bothered with trying anymore. The bolded part is very indicative of what might be wrong in yr marriage. I am very sorry to say this, he clearly just admitted he does not love you and that there is hardly any chemistry, bonding or anything that connects you guys beyond him finding you pretty (Superficial). Hence his being nice whenever he feels the urge to make use of your perceived beauty (by him) to satisfy his needs. There is more to a marriage than just liking a person or the outward beauty of a partner. You might want to speak to him on the bolded comment and ask him how he would have felt, if you said same to him. It is a shame you are going thru this just a few months after your marriage. Try and focus on the things that you love doing and do things that will make you happy. Life is short dear. Wish you all the best. |
@size40 The truth is that, many Rivers indigens depends on govt for their everyday survival. That's why my people will kill, burn houses, even kill their brothers and kinsmen for power. A typical example is our current governor, Nyesom Wike. He has never worked or done any business all his life b4. It us from so called law school to becoming a local govt chairman in 1999. All d wealth and power he has acquired today is through violent politics. Why won't others want to be like him?May the almighty continue to bless you with more wisdom & all the good things of life. You have just summed part of the root causes of Nigeria's core/major problems in a nutshell. If not, why must politics be a do or die thing!!? |
@Jadekitana Hello how are you?Hi |

@grad2012 Your profile pic though.. I remember in my high school days in Naij we called such "Attack and defence" No vex o ![]() |
@Op God bless your for bringing this to light. All these people are the cancer killing our country. And I watch with dismay how the average Nigerian lends themselves as praise singers & slaves to all these past & present extremely corrupt politicians and public office holders. I see things as Tinubu bestowed with The Sun man of the year award, I see images of Ben Bruce 60th b-day bash. With all these hungry pseudo-celebrities and hoard of other people eager to rub shoulder with people who they should distance themselves from considering the grave harm they have done to this country. Ben Bruce is throwing such big gig, it has to be paid for, no one is asking how it was funded and by whom. All we are after is catching some crumbs falling from the tables and some hungry students complaining they didn’t get enough to eat. Let me tell you in case you don’t know, you are already eating your future. And don’t start complaining of lack of employment and infrastructure when you are done studying. Cos the time you could have used to ask for good leadership, transparency and development, you have compromised yourself by being a desperate wannabe trying to rub shoulders with rogues and praising them for the evil deeds that will eventually shape your future. We are our own worst enemies, Nigeria’s problems / issue are not cos we are ibos, yorubas or Hausas. No! Cos if you look at all the corrupt leaders who have milked and are still milking this country and seriously preventing this country from development & progress, they cut across the various tribes we have in this country. But when they want to put their evil divide and rule policies to practice on the ignorant, hungry Nigerian, that is when they come out and start pointing out the tribal, religious, ethnic etc differences Part of our problems, is that we allow ourselves to be divided and ruled by these heartless bastards. From the Military man, to politicians, religious men / woman, Obas / traditional rulers etc. We need to shine our eyes and know who our real enemies are. Indeed this Tam David-West of a man had big mouth in the past, suddenly he is mute. They are all like that, all they care about is their pockets, women, concubines, mansions, houses overseas etc. And they never seem to get enough that is why they sway with the wind, no principles or moral integrity. Well, the blame is not totally theirs cos the average Nigerian are ready and willing to lend themselves as their sycophants. |
LRNZH You just surmarised a large part of my epistle in less than 10 paragraphs. ![]() Nice one! |
@OP Nice write-up and analysis. I do miss the term arbitrage though (spread between bid and offer price), it is the gap between these prices that parallel market operators take advantage of. Arbitrage is very common in most 3rd world / developing economies as a result of the fact that most are extremely import dependent / netto importers like Nigeria. The Nigerian economy is still at the very basic stage (extractive), we still import refined oil which entails incurring huge expenses in the process (Transportation & insurance) all paid for you USD. It is almost beginning to sound like a cliché; we need to create enabling environment in which our SME’s will thrive, by so doing creating employment and increase purchasing power which will boost internal consumption. If we are able to boost our internal market this will reduce our yarn for imported goods & services that are available in Nigeria. Importation of unnecessary goods and services should be made expensive. Nigeria is not an isolated market, the government and CBN can stick to their current policies of not doing the needful and wait it out hoping for a miracle, at the end of the day it is the market that determines the value of the Naira (taking into consideration our over dependency on import) It is rather weird, that the official position of the government & CBN is that the Naira is pegged between 190 – 200 which is the price commercial banks buy USD from CBN. And the commercial banks in turn charges their clients who make purchases on the net / make withdrawals abroad close to the black market rates (excluding bank charges). Commercial banks are making huge profits here and we wonder why the parallel market still thrive? Which brings me to my next question which is, why isn’t any of the Financial regulatory bodies doing anything about this? cos this action of the commercial banks is tantamount to jeopardizing the exchange rate policies of the government. That the Nigeran government is reluctant to go the way of devaluation is understandable as this will increase the prices of imported refined oil products (with its multiplier effect on inflation) & will also make our debt more expensive. But something must be done to discourage over-dependency on importation and must be structural too. |
@INTROVERT Everything said here is very true.. Especially those bank boys that work with forex and FT department and their ogas. I can't say more coz Il just implicate people close to me.It is either you want to be part of the problem or part of the solution! ![]() |
@ 9jatravel Hello there, was wondering if you might be in a position to assist with info on cash reservation at 4-Point V/I in Lagos. Thanks in advance. |
@AdaNri1 Rubbish. If he had done his job as governor that irrelevant amount he's handing out they would have earned in a week.Of course he won’t do that, cos they don’t want the people to be free, that way they are able to keep manipulating them from generation to generation. This is gross dislay of disdain to the Nigerian people. I also blame the people for accepting this level of de-humanisation. The question these people should be asking is, where is this money coming from? Nigerians should wake up and start asking questions. Are they going to go queue next week for another hand-out? |
DaughterzionI do not see any judgement in this. The gentleman has used his God-given senses to logically express reasonable critique at a situation that calls for such. Please tell us where God has said we should not criticise in the bible. |
@magneto My people, my people...I dey greet all of una special o! Shout out to the newbies in da house, xerum, Tip, talk2docee...y'all are warmly welcome.I would choose COMPATIBILITY for the following reasons: 1. You are attracted to the other for specific character traits / talent 2. At what point would the other have adapted enough and not compromise his/her core self which is why you got attracted to him/her in the first place. 3. In a good union / relationship is should be that, you go into it with 2 equals halves and make one melted whole in a new relationship / union. 4. I often say, where to people agree all the time, one of them is unnecessary. 5. And how do you determine who adapts what and what the level of adaptation would/should be? 6. Unrealistic expectations of ADAPTABILITY could lead to clashes due to adaptation expectations not getting realised And of course people change over time, but if the basis will be with strong level of compatibility, it will be much easier to close gaps and deal with challenges. My 2 cent o.. lol |
@missbronze You are welcome. feel free to mingle, twingle and rekindle. From the posts I have read so far, I actually do not expect any unnecessary shakara. But just in case. I am happy i have you to report to. ![]() |
Hello everyone, I actually do not know how to start other than I stumbled on this thread, and I must say I am sooo impressed with the level of maturity, civility, sensibilily, humour etc expressed in interactions here. I wld like to say kudos to the starter and all contributors on this thread. It is initiatives such as this that gives me hope in Nigeria, some Nigerians and the human race. I am usually very open minded, like meeting people and try not to allow myself get inhibited by negativities that abound in the world we live in. This thread has proven that no matter how hard and rough things are, being bitter and projecting bitterness and negativities in life is a CHOICE. Kudos everyone. Keep up the good work. Actually never thought i'd be so moved positively to express such feedback on Nairaland. ![]() This made my day! |
@ dfellow97 U re tired of praying means u r disobedient to God. If u can't have faith in God then u r worse than a non living thing.Bros, How come is it that it is in those places in the world that people pray the most that things don’t work i.e. South America and Africa. What more pragmatic proves do you need to understand that just praying alone does not solve anything? If prayers would solve issues, you think the oyinbos who brought this modern day slavery pattern, would have deserted it and given it to us? We have been going round in this fruitless circle till date and it has not helped us. Might be sensible to try something else. Like being pragmatic about the issues facing us and seeking pragmatic and workable solutions to them. And the useless rulers know exactly when to take advantage of the people using religion. Bro, you don’t want to know how many religious leaders shared in the Dasukigate billions. And you think they mean well for the common man!? And by the way, does your religion teach you to judge!? (Bolded part) |
REPORT WITH YOUR CVTO THE ABOVE ADDRESS ON WEDNESDAY 23/12/2105 AT 12 NOON ORWhat sort of nonsence and backwardness is this? Are they going to see the doctor or going to a court of law? Why not provide an electronic plaform where people can submit their cv's for screening electronically. That gives you the time and focus to select potential candidates for interview and avoid chaos. I can imagive the chaos that will happen when people turn up on the appointed date for interview. Is that what you want? This is not some daily paid manial / labourer job, is it? Why do we like creating unnecessary chaos in this country, and we blame the government for everything. Even for little things that we can fix ourselves on micro level |
Since the average yoruba man is "deceptive and crafty"....these, are for them, their means of self preservation.....they rather not be confrontational but will lie like a harmless snake to gain your trust and then gbam strike..... The Yorubas sdefault survival mechanism is pretense.....they act as though they are loyal, or they agree to your position while secretly plotting behind you their attack.....Ever heard of the expression: “In politics there are no permanent friends or enemies, but permanent interests”? These are individuals and in a political context, and if you want to be reasonable and mature in your observation, you should not castigate a whole ethnic group for the sins of a few people. They are not exhibiting these traits because they coincidentally belong to a specific ethnic group. People should stop generalising and judging a whole group of people based on the short-comings of a few. A lot of yorubas share your observation on Tinubu and Obasanjo, they are just shrewd politicians and businessmen who take advantage of chances and opportunities that are prevailing in their environment. There is this video going viral on social media lately of an Igbo lady warning pro-Biafra supporters about the disunity with Igbo people. What does that say about Igbo people in general? Not much if you ask me. Moral is, stop generalising, see things / people in context and in perspective. Thanks. These are all selfish Nigerian politicians, none of them is worth developing high blood pressure and becoming a tribalist about. |
@Vhema, And finally, she's handing over her BIG B00TY gradually to a guy she loves, dis guy must sabi knack niyen oooPlease what is the guy knacking? Is he a professional carpenter knacking nails? ha ha ha.. |

What got to me most was their aggression. They hardly listen to what you tell them, they only go with what they think.Op, Sorry to hear about your predicament. I like the way you are dealing with it though. It apparently shows you had no ulterior motives. Unfortunately, the circumstances you found yourself in had a very unfortunate outcome for you. Yeah, I do hear that a lot about the aggressive treatment giving to people at the POE in America. I do understand they are trying to fish out people who are likely to abuse their temporaty visa’s and remain permanently in the U.S. is that then a reason to treat most people visitng your country as potential criminal? Despite the fact that 90% percent of the tourists are genuine visitors. The other time, a friend of mine travelled from here (The Netherlands) with his daughter, a teenager as tall as her father. They were like delayed & questioned for over an hour, shouting and intimidating them like: “are you sure he is your dad!” are you sure she is your daughter! bla bla. Part of the reasons, I have not visited the place till now. Yeah, I know dem no miss me, me self no miss them. There are other places in the world I go to enjoy my money and peace. Where I do not get shouted at just because I am visitng the country and coming to spend my money. |
Why are they all bleached ....are they having bleaching competitionIntelligent observation bro. May God bless you. And these are the people charged with guiding, promoting and upholding the culture and heritage of black folks. Inferiority complex of the highest order! I actually wonder what sort of message he is trying to get accross. If he is attracted to light-skin ladies, fair enough, his choice his taste. Why not go after the ones with natural light skin? And not all these ones with low self-esteem that think they need to bleach / pour cancerous chemicals on their skins to be relevant! |
This is rubbish statement without any iota of sensible arguement in it! Deal with your inferiorty / colonial complex and you will be fine as an individual! What added value does bleaching your skin adds to your life!? Some Nigerian men prefer Anal too , so you game with them? Come on. |
TRYING TRAVELLING OUT OF THE COUNTRY:@Op, Which kind daylight lying be this na? The bolded part is happening and we still have unemployed youths left in Nigeria? Take time o. ![]() |

No vex o

, so you game with them? Come on.
