XtraSmooth404:Someone reading your post would assume that it applies to all CLOs (especially as you said it will guarantee family house members access to information). Personally, in my experience most Corpers staying in rural areas do not stay in family houses (it applies more to urban centres). In my case the CLO in my batch did not stay in any of the family houses and the one after him was a muslim and also did not stay in a family house. |
jacksparrow1207:I get o. In fact that was where she made the music that I understood, not from her drum. |
jacksparrow1207:Which was just perfect. And also generously endowed where it mattered... |
olakumby:You hear 'errection' body begin sweet you, baa... |
jacksparrow1207:Lol I didn't say that o! Don't go reading extra meanings into my comment. Btw, she wasn't slim before naa... |
jacksparrow1207:If you say so. As the saying goes, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. Personally I prefer her previous look. |
jacksparrow1207:and looks fairer... |
XtraSmooth404:Not all CLOs stay in the 'family house' |
jpphilips:It seems your problem is that you don't know that you do not know. And instead of educating yourself you are trying to bamboozle your way through with (what are probably) asinine questions. Each of these firms (and monopolies like them) imported on behalf of the Federal Government (items that fell within their purview). If you were the type who paid any attention to the news you would have heard of equipment imported by NEPA/PHCN (250 containers) and left to rot in the ports because none of the successor companies was sure who now owned the goods. |
jpphilips:NEPA was a monopoly, Nitel was a monopoly, NNPC is a monopoly. Which option do these firms fall under? Until a few years NNPC was the sole importer of petroleum products. When you have "Govt approved importers" that is not a monopoly seeing that importers is plural. |
If it makes you happy it's the right choice. |
jpphilips:Is a private firm/importer a government monopoly, Yes or No? When a private firm has a monopoly on the importation of a particular good, it does not place any restriction on the volume/value of imports it brings in as long as it believes there is adequate demand since it's main aim is to make profit. |
donkafor:That's the problem with Nigeria. Not that we do not have brilliant minds and individuals who know what to do; but rather our leaders do not practice what they preach. When out of government they are the voice of wisdom, when they get into power they are only interested in lining their pockets. Although I do not think we should blame Soludo for the banking crisis, he definitely has a case to answer when it comes to the polymer notes issue. |
jpphilips:This is not really true. The size of the market remains the same no matter how many firms are importing the product and companies will not import goods when there is no demand for the product. Monopolies offer advantages such as economies of scale leading to reduced prices, large profits leading to investment in R& D, price discrimination in favour of the economically disadvantaged... But we all know Nigerians were not enjoying this benefits, rather the benefiting monopolies used the privilege to extort Nigerians and then pay kickbacks from their abnormal profits to their government benefactors. |
LRNZH:Same of the same... Apart from Fashola and Osinbajo everyone you've mentioned is a product of the PDP. Why should we expect anything different. |
Huffington:A prophet told him one of his father's descendants would be the anti-christ, so he decided to forestall this by killing the father and castrating himself (since he's the only son). |
Tomoarika:No matter who we vote, the next 4 years looks bleak. This is a strong indictment on Nigerians. We put ourselves in this position by promoting politicians based on sentiments and "stomach infrastructure". What's really sad is that we are not learning from our mistakes. |
seunrebirth:What happened to the 5th tip? |
ShowYourCertificate:This is actually from Chinua Achebe's book, "No Longer at Ease". |
The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode, has promised to build a world-class stadium for residents of Ajegunle, a surburb in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state. He said if voted into power, he would help to develop young talents in the area by providing enabling social amenities and infrastructure. Ambode, who spoke during a rally on Thursday, said he had lived and worked in the area as a local government worker and understood the needs of the people. He added that he would continue from where the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, stopped. He said, “I have worked and lived here before. I know what you want and I am going to do it for you. I have learnt from Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola; I am better than other governorship candidates and I am going to complete all ongoing projects by the state governor. “We have great entertainers and footballers here, why can’t we produce world champions from here? We are going to construct a stadium for you here that will look like the Maracana stadium and also encourage the artistes to become world class.” He also pledged to ensure that upcoming artistes were given due recognition and empowered to compete on the international stage. http://www.nigerianeye.com/2015/01/ambode-promises-to-build-world-class.html?m=1 |

hardbody:Well, you have made a very good point. But if that's the standard we are going to use to determine if lawyers lie then it will be hard to prove it. Because you might as well argue that lawyers who were disbarred for lying are an aberration (and lie because they are liars ordinarily), that the vast majority of lawyers are not liars hence have not been disbarred. A New York woman tripped on the street across from a church, but changed her story when her lawyers told her there was more money in suing churches than homeowners. They pulled the client's statements from the file and hired another lawyer to handle the trial. When they faced the NY disciplinary authorities, the two lawyers admitted their conduct was "dishonest and shameful," said they were really really sorry (I assume), and excused themselves on the grounds of their "youth and inexperience." They were suspended for 9 months. lab.lawyerist.com/ethics/1016-things-that-wont-get-you-disbarred-lying-to-the-court.html overlawyered.com/2013/05/n-y-p-i-lawyers-are-suspended-encouraging-client-lie/ |
hardbody:Bill Clinton (a lawyer) lying under oath, before a grand jury, that he did not sleep with Monica Lewinsky. |
josite:This is a lie... Only a lawyer would say something so blatant... *wink* |
jobsat34:That's a like a blight on the face of the earth, a walking disease, a plague upon mankind, an unholy flesh eater with the glory of invincibility... |
emperormero:It's a terrible thing, you look in the mirror and you can't recognise who you've become; you don't like it but you have no choice but to keep doing it (as long as you're on the job). |
bashydemy:Well, I can't vouch for Jimi Agbaje but I know a lot of governors in Nigeria and in other countries went from being CEOs to being governors. Leadership skills is not confined to those in government offices or political office holders. In fact often previous political experience is seen as a disadvantage, when the citizen want to cut down on bureaucracy, reduce government spending, speedy delivery of govt services and generally improve government efficiency. |
bashydemy:It is. A number of cities have them. emusmith:Haba! You didn't include marketers?! If a marketer hasn't told a lie on a given day, you know he or she hasn't yet woken up from sleep. |
Dee60:Are you also against governments paying pharmaceutical companies to supply them with drugs that they then offer to patients at no cost? Or paying private firm for books and other educational materials that are part of free education? Or paying private construction firms to build roads that you then ride on freely? Or you just take particular exception when it has to do with internet access. |
Dwanye:The increasing access to technology such as mobile phones has already proven to provide developing nations with further economic development opportunities. Increasing access to the Internet can, for example, improve low income individuals' access to financial services such as savings accounts and enable online trading. It is also an educational resource giving students access to e-libraries, online educational tools and resources that they may not necessarily have access to. A 2011 report to the UN Human Rights Council emphasised that "without Internet access, which facilitates economic development and the enjoyment of a range of human rights, marginalised groups and developing States remain trapped in a disadvantaged situation, thereby perpetuating inequality both within and between States." Several countries already consider access to the internet a human right because it is essential in order for citizens to exercise and enjoy their rights to Freedom of expression and opinion and other fundamental human rights It actually says a lot about our society that so many people can't see it's importance. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_Internet_access www.digitaltrends.com/computing/un-declares-internet-access-a-human-right/ |
