conventional wisdom says it isn't possible. Then again, adidas' ad compaign says "Impossible is Nothing" so who knows? cool
WebmastersRe: Place Advert On Google And Yahoo ? by yawatide(f): 12:11pm On Dec 16, 2009
Go to the respective pages for each company's advert campaign and read up on their instructions and make sure you qualify. Alternatively, see if you can find the offices of these companies in Nigeria so you can go visit them yourself and in person.

good luck!

true quad but if that one person is one out of 100, is it worth hearing what they have to say? tongue

Why does this post remind me of our various juju men who, despite their talent, use it to wreck evil, as opposed to using it to make Nigeria comparable to, if not better than, places like the US? cool

212 IMHO, the length of time is too long (I feel by the time you get to week 6, you would have forgotten what you did in week 1) and the money too small for all you are going to learn. I personally would want to see a breakdown of what will be taught, the teaching environment, etc.

webdezzi: I agree with what you just said with respect to building yourself afterward. Even if it were an actual school degree, if you don't build yourself by constant learning in our field, you are basically committing suicide.

Dual Core: piggy-backing on your last post, let us not be victim of one of Femi Kuti's songs of old - so so talk, and no action tongue
WebmastersRe: How To Create A Unique Social Community Website. by yawatide(f): 7:26pm On Dec 14, 2009
1) Come up with a unique design/layout
2) Visit the other sites you have mentioned and do research with respect to what you like and what you don't like and merge all the likes into your own site.

good luck!
WebmastersRe: Google Adsense On Nairaland Has Quit by yawatide(f): 1:39pm On Dec 13, 2009
212blaze: I feel you man but guess what? In all the times I have been on nairaland, I have clicked an ad maybe once or twice.

The ads are annoying, yes, but the guy at the very least has to pay for the hosting and needs to be rewarded for his efforts. I bet you that if he were to open up advertising to the public, very few would patronize.

he he. Is this what you should do, instead of going to church? cool

Make una visit smashing magazine dot com and:

1) search for "How To Identify and Deal With Different Types Of Clients , " and "How To Explain To Clients That They Are Wrong" and "why you shouldn't dump difficult clients"

Why haven't I posted actual URLs? Yep, you got it right? tongue

switchmax, I understood you perfectly, hence saying what I said. I don't want to risk being banned by the bot otherwise I would have posted an actual link. Sorry.

@mail($to, $subject, $body, $from);
I am always cautious using "@" in most cases - what happens if there is an error? How will you detect it? I prefer surrounding my mail() with an if statement. Then if true, the email is sent.

Of course there are 1000+ ways to skin a cat. I am just stating a case for one of them wink

mic check 1-2-1-2, mic check 1-2-1-2  tongue

One word (and I am speaking in general, based on numerous threads about this on this board): reliability.

Thanks for digging this up. Granted the OP says he figured it out, I couldn't for the life of me use the right search terms to find this thread (maybe it is because we are now using yahoo, as opposed to google tongue).

Thanks once again
WebmastersRe: Contributors needed for www.arsenalnigeria.com by yawatide(f): 12:44pm On Dec 12, 2009
hmmm mr. gooner, take it from me (though not an arsenal fan): the rule of thumb is get the layout right first before you think of content or even the back end. I can always fill up each page with "lorem ipsicum" but I can't just through any element anywhere I please.

Oh well, that's just silly advice from a lowly chelsea fan. What do I know? tongue
WebmastersRe: Re-branding Nigeria Website by yawatide(f): 12:40pm On Dec 12, 2009
I think this is where the web conference will make sense. By organizing such, and hopefully it will be publicized and assuming such a conference will be held regularly and help produce *enforceable* standards that all will follow, the true believers in progress in the country (as opposed to the corrupt and greedy kind) will be aware and be on the watch out for the real developers. I just pray the conference comes to fruition.

Come on now Sam_Milla tongue

OP:
Google is angry with nairaland because of vulgar language used on certain boards (which boards? If you can't mention all 3 in your first 3 guesses, I will ban you myself tongue) so as punishment it has suspended ads until the problem is rectified.

Hopefully this should be rectified soon.

I haven't encountered such so I don't have any hacks, sorry.

Out of curiosity though, have you tried using a png?

google php forms and oh, don't forget to include front end and back end validation
WebmastersRe: Contributors needed for www.arsenalnigeria.com by yawatide(f): 5:28pm On Dec 11, 2009
probably because of #1 and #2 above.

Me? I am glad you asked - I am NOT an arsenal fan and I am passionate only for chelesea and ac milan.

IMHO though, I think an "outsider" would do you better from a layout/design perspective as they will come at it with an unbiased mind. For content though, an arsenal fan would do just fine.
WebmastersRe: Flash Animation Overflowing by yawatide(f): 5:26pm On Dec 11, 2009
better yet, post a screenshot.

If it is what I think it is, you may have to add a z-index to the object tag. Or, depending on where the flash is, which is why I am asking for a screenshot, you could use javascript to set visibility to hide on the elements the flash is overflowing.

get back to us.

WebmastersRe: Your Most Successful Website And Why? by yawatide(f): 10:45am On Dec 11, 2009
I remember reviewing the coal city website and it looks like it has gotten better with time. good job! There seems to be a missing image where it says "enugu state 3" though so look into it. How is the traffic to the site? Still would have been nice if you found a way to monetize though, IMHO.

OP:
Yep, take the chunk out of your own eye first - release your own tongue
