Good day House,

What is the maximum waiting duration for passport collection after applying for a visa?

We apply for a tier 2 Visa as a family (family of 4).

Biometrics date was : October 2, 2020.

Wife, mine and daughter's passport came with approved visa since October 27.

Since waiting for my son's passport. Several mails has been sent regarding this. Same reply that decision has been made, the VAC will notify you once documents is ready for collection and my patience will be highly appreciated. sad

Anticipate the Gurus in the house response.

It doesn’t matter what type of visa u have, Salisbury is a very upper class town ... with a lot of pensioners about ...
If you’ve got the resource it is a very nice town to live and raise your family.. you can get a train into London just over 1.2hr ....

Lastly it’s a very English town mostly white resident( not really diverse). If that’s not a problem for you then it’s a good place

(A). She may want to register as a Biomedical Scientist, but a Nigerian Microbiology degree (on its own) is not enough.
(B). She may be required to do some top up modules (Im not sure which and which).
(C). Alternatively, she may wish to enrol for a Biomedical Science Masters program in the UK (Note: This must be at a University whose program is accredited and it must be modules which would guarantee HCPC registration. NOTE: Not all universities have these courses. Again, although the course titles may sometimes sound similar, they are not necesarrily exactly the same).

(D). A fellow on this forum @omopapa has done a fantastic job in answering questions in this regard. I have benefited a truck load from his posts on the subject matter. If I were you (or the person involved, I would click on omopapa's profile, and meticulously go through his posts on the subject - I assure you, he has answered ALL the questions you are asking.

First things first.
Look for available vacancies on reputable websites and apply by filling online forms.

For starters, have a look here: https://www.jobs.ac.uk/categories/lecturer-jobs

Attend the interview (Can be done virtually on zoom or Skype etc).

Impress the panel by beating ALL other applicants hands down. I mean thorough beating, especially other competing applicants from the UK and EU.

Receive an email:
congratulations, we are pleased to notify you that the interview panel, after a rigorous process has decided to offer you the job of lecturer ....”

The university will provide you with an electronic certificate of sponsorship.

You use the certificate to apply for UK work visa.

You, your other half (if any) and ALL your biological (or legally adopted children) under the age of 18 packs your bags.

You reach airport, and sing...
‘Bye bye, to Buhari’
‘Bye bye to Adamu Adamu’ ( did you even know that is the current Education minister’s name?)
‘Bye bye to ASUU’ - I know you will miss ASUU

Turkish airline sha traveled with dem 4 years ago nd my bag got missing too bur luckily I got it back less dan 48hrs intact.
Soknown:

On Monday we went 'a shopping-de-la-malls', We went to Primark, H&M, M&S, Shoe zones, Clarkes and Argos. We were able to get sweatshirts, summer clothings, Jackets, Sandals, and Shoes. We left home with their passports so we visited the post-office at the county mall to collect their biometric resident card, fortunately, the cards were ready.
During the same week, I got a mail from the council for my council tax, the whole council tax for the year was about £1500 to be paid in installments over an 8 months period. My electricity and gas usage skyrocketed, though my family arrived in Summer, the weather is still too cold for them. I have to use the heater to make them comfortable. Looking forward to the time when the temperature will be above 30*c.
We kept following up with the airport police and the luggage handlers at Gatwick through the phone number stated for the same purpose on the complaints acknowledgment form, we were told there was no need to involve the airline yet but after seven days and they could not found the luggage, they contacted the airline on our behalf.
After two weeks, at about 2100hr in the evening I got a knock on the door. It was a delivery man with the lost luggage, I was overwhelmed and tired from the days work, so I was not really thinking straight. When I opened the bag most of the items were missing, the rest were spoiled. I signed for it and the delivery man left before I realized I should have used my phone to take a picture of what was remaining in the bag with the digital gadgets supplied for me to sign on. That would have been good evidence of inventory of what was returned with the bag. However, we took inventory of what was missing and the spoilt items.
After the delivery, it became very difficult to contact the airline as the email we were using to communicate with them was no longer active until I dragged them on twitter, they sent a PM for me to supply the details of the flight and luggage, then they promised to investigate and revert. They made contact two weeks later that the complaints have been resolved and closed. I dragged them again on twitter and the same process ensued till I got tired. My wife kept following up with some aviation complaints watchdog, but I have given up on it, unfortunately.

The schools were on holiday but I sent a mail to the county education board for placement for my daughters. Admission forms and list of schools within my catchment area were sent to me which I filled, scanned, and sent back with supporting documents. There are very good primary schools with good Ofsted rating. St Joseph Catholic primary school, St Matthew primary School owned by Church of England. St Johns Primary school, Hatchland primary school, Earlswood Junior School. St Joseph was very competitive and mostly reserved for Catholics as I heard, I visited the school anyways. I was informed that there is no opening as all the classes are full but I should check back when the school resumes. Eventually, St Matthews CoE primary school gave admission to my daughters. The School is on Linkfield Lane and about 20 minutes trek from my house. We started buying materials like school bags, white blouse, grew pleated skirts, jumpers and Jacket. Girls could wear skirts, trousers or dresses.

Yes UK is still d cheapest nd easiest to get into
bur salary wise u might want to consider us or Australia
U are not supposed to pay agent any amount PLS, dey get dere payment frm d hospital
Either u fund ur traveling urself or Tru an agent d salary is statutory,no difference.
deleson:
Thanks for the response.

I’d say the cost isn’t back breaking.

Do you have an idea of the charges or percentage of the earnings the agent/employer would take out for those two years after helping secure a job there?

Conversely, what’s the cost implication of using one’s funds and not an agent’s?

Hello

A big thank you to crushsugar and everyone who’s contributed to this thread. I’ve got a few questions;

1. What’s the average cost to finance this process from start to finish ( IELTS.CBT...etc).

2. Is there any need for proof of funds or bank deposit before one can be issued employment and visa?

3. Is one bonded to work for the recruiting agency for a number of months/years? If no, how do they make their money of the nurse?

4. Is it advisable for a newly wed to relocate with her spouse?
