People in Niger Delta Area should not sleep with their 2 eyes closed. because as usual will not handle the situation if it happens to be true. ![]() |
I pray the guy is still alive because my fear is for the poor innocent people may follow is death. The sources:- Punch Uncertainty over killing of MEND leader By Tony Amokeodo, Ibanga Isine, Segun Olatunji, Atser Godwin and Mudiaga Affe Published: Wednesday, 20 Feb 2008 Anxiety reigned in the Niger Delta region on Tuesday over the rumoured killing of the leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, Mr. Henry Okah. A report by Reuters last night said that Okah was shot dead in detention in Kaduna. The report claimed that a statement by one Jomo Gbomo, one of MEND leaders, confirmed the alleged killing of the Niger Delta militant leader. Also, Okah’s brother, Charles, in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents, said that he learnt that the activist had been killed. He added that a source informed him that Okah might have been killed through ‘accidental discharge’ while being interrogated. But the Federal Government on Tuesday night denied claims of Okah’s death. Presidential spokesman, Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi, told BBC that Okah was in Abuja, adding, “I know that Henry Okah is alive. He is in safe custody.” Also, the Assistant Director, Public Relations, 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Col. Ganiyu Akinola, denied the killing. He said that he was not aware that Okah was brought to Kaduna. He added that the alleged killing was a rumour . |
You dont know what you are talking about. You dont even know these coaches. If you have given good points you should have gotten responses. |
The problem is our Govt. Govt did not respond swiftyly early enough to the condemnation of the programme. If govt really appreciate it in the first place, they should have stopped it. I finished with HND and i am proud I did. |
princekay1 In all what you have said up here, I have not seen where any of it is applicable to NYSC. I dont think you have served b4 from what you just posted. All we are saying here is that they are not managing it properly but the idea is very good. Those days, for those tht had NYSC experience can testify to it and even presently it still serve good purposes. |
The new name from June is Zain |
NYSC, I believe the purpose of creating it first hand work experience and community development, but now everything is an opposite. The coordination, funding of the scheme is nothing one can be proud of. Corps don’t have accommodation, proper clothing/feeding. At the end of the day you come back and you tell yourself why do I have to waste another 1 year in addition to those I had in school? But come to think of it. In the past, this is a programme every student will regard to as a dream come true. It is a programme where we choose our careers, where we connect to people you can hook up with either for marriages, jobs etc. However, I will conclude that though the programme is not coordinated properly, but I will not consider it a waste. Keeping you busy for another 1 year could also prevent some school leavers from engaging in odd activities that may have negative effect on them. People are still connecting themselves in getting jobs. Until they get it right, we must relent in making our grievances known to government but don’t let us condemn this programme outrightly please. |
Willy 2 In your first post you said an undergraduate was caught for carrying cocaine. In your second you mentioned that now its Yoruba and not Ibos as Yoruba always accusing of drugs. What do you want people to discuss here? Is it the drug thing or the tribe involved? For me I dont think it is necessary to debate on the tribe but on the implication of the drugs may be he could serve as lessions for some pple. If you go by your insinuation about Yoruba being responsible for the drug most in the country, may have every cause to regret it because everybody knows that Ibos are more into it than any other tribe. Are you ready to repent now? |

Tpappi, You know in HR, background in Degree or Masters is irrelevant. What matters most here is interest. I have seen pple with sciences and the end up in HR. Look at Oni, former Cadbury MD. His background is Food Technology and he ended up as CIPM President. Infact, it was Oni that changed a lot of things in CIPM. For him he will start @ PE1 with those exemptions. Thereafter let him take up job because with CIPM background and the degrees securing job in HR Related functions even if one need to go for job cut will not be a problem. Just let him use a place as a “Training Ground”, I can assure you that once you become a super star in HR, You will continue to fly. |
C. Ronaldo scored a superb kick yesterday. That free kick is considered the best in premier league. Glory, Glory Man U. |
