Your advice and guidance will be much appreciated, thanks.[/quote]I know the bible does not permit us to marry a divorcee as long as the wife is still alive. If he was legally married to the lady and she"s still alive I dont think your friend should go ahead.
So apart from the reason why they were separated . I believe you should let your friend see what the scripture says about marrying some one who was married and the spouse is living ( I m assuming she"s a xtian since you ve decided to post this here)

assuming 1cor 7:15 or matt 19.9 was the case it would have been a different matter ( even in the case of matt 19:9 I believe there"s room for forgiveness)
